Applebee's is a great place to enjoy for a quick bite or a relaxing time as the staff is helpful and patient, always checking in on the diners. An absolutely lovely manager was friendly and helpful and definitely serves as a role model for her host, hostesses and waitstaff. We were in the mood for one of their delicious sandwiches, the burger for one of us and the chicken sandwich for the other - both of which were topped with our desire for bacon, cheese, and lettuce along with fries or stringbeans and both were nicely prepared. The facility has just been renovated and looks immaculate and well-organized. Applebee's offers many special deals and a good menu variety. Horrible service. Went for the all you can eat wings and got immediately reduced to 5 pieces at a time with no fries. Not sure why. Went to other location and had no issues but the server acted surprised when the table ordered our third round of wings. Also, when we asked for water the server brought out a single water for one person. Never had one water refill for an hour and 1/2 of dining. But what really stood out was our server his name was caleb he was very charming and charismatic he seemed like he really enjoyed working here and he loved helping people. He made our day. It's an OK place. If you are hungry or half a time limit and then you know that at least at this Applebee there will be minimal wait time. Here is my review from a hungry vegetarian perspective: I got a broccoli pasta bowl and it's OK. The price is decent. My friend Ordered a chicken pasta dish and his include a bread stick. I ordered a diet Coke and wasn't told until I received the cup that it was diet Pepsi. That's a turn off. I never got a refill for my drink and I asked for a water and I never got it either. We placed an order for dessert via the device on the table since I have given up on the server. Will I come back? The waiter was very nice and professional. The food was cooked good and tasted great. However, I have no sense of direction. When leaving, I could not remember where I parked my car when I went in, I did not pay attention to the area, I just ran in. As I as was leaving, I went back in to see if I was going out the right door as I did circle the building a couple of times to see where to park. When asked about parking, one of the waitresses (short Hispanic lady) basically rushed me out of the door, telling me you can just walk around the building. Thank God, when I walked out the door, I immediately saw my car. But she was rude, for no reason. Arrived at Applebee's at 2:30 pm in Warwick RI and waited in the entrance at least 4 minutes before we were seated with the restaurant being not that busy. The person who seated us was cordial. When the waiter Matt came to the table he introduced himself and was very pleasant. We asked about the half price appetizers and he pointed to the table tent and we chose the boneless buffalo wings, 2 sodas, and 2 fish and chips. While we were waiting for the appetizer the manager approached our table and said hello and thanked us for joining them. Meanwhile sitting at table 66 the flooring was bouncing every time people were being seated making us quite uncomfortable in these seats. The bartender in the middle of the room was very LOUD with her cackling laughter that lasted for at least 20 minutes. We wondered if she'd had a few drinks it was that bad. Matt came out with the fish and chips and I questioned where the appetizer was and he said he'd had forgotten to put it in so we passed on the app. The portion of the fish was small and it didn't taste like fresh New England Cod as advertised on the menu The French fries were luke warm and I asked for hot ones that were delivered after the meal was finished. When it came time to settle the bill Matt showed my spouse how to use the machine but had to go back to remove the additional fries on the check. With our gift card and debit card the bill was $29.12. out of $40.00. The gratuity at 20 percent was $9.02 that we would normally do but with so many issues I took the awkward machine and customized it to only $5.00. My spouse wanted to do the 20 percent after all so the $5.00 was removed and he couldn't manage the machine. I couldn't take anymore and had to leave. My spouse spoke with Matt and once the check was redone again there was no spot to add a tip on so that was that. I rarely frequent chain restaurants here in little Rhody with SO many great options with locally owned and operated eateries. However, with the 'rona I have hopped aboard the Door Dash train to feed the younger crowd from time to time when momma doesn't feel like cooking... and have enjoyed some tasty meals and treats myself. Golly. Why the five stars? Okay-so it's purely based on my takeout experience so I'm only focusing on the food. I adore consistency and it's the same, solidly delicious food every.single.time. My absolute favorite item? The ranch dressing. I feel like I'm exposing myself because it's so cliche and I'm not a ranch dressing fan. I happened to try it as a dip for one of the kid's boneless wings and it literally reminds me of a dressing my grandmother made when I was young. It's not your sweet, thick ranch. I'd almost call it a garlic dill. So good! On to the food. Our typical order is boneless wings, the pretzels with pub cheese, the chocolate explosion cake (might not actually be called that but... whatevs) and the brownies. I've also had the shrimp Caesar. Boneless wings are always crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. The pretzel sticks? Yeah! Soft and tender on the inside with a perfect, delicate crunch with just the right amount of salt. And the desserts? I mean we all know they're not baking them hot and fresh in the back but they are fresh and tasty when you are craving a chocolate fix. And the chocolate is not too sweet... I'd say semi sweet chocolate which is my JAM. The Caesar salad with shrimp was fresh, crisp romaine with lots of shrimp. They were lightly seasoned with some shavings of Parmesan. I've been an Applebees fan for years and like anything the quality and service at some locations can go up and down. It's not a fancy place but it never claims to be. It's good food, relatively quick in a comfortable and friendly place. This review is specifically about the Warwick, RI location on Quaker Lane. I recently visited with a friend who is disabled. We were welcomed and asked about seating preference and giving our choice. When the waiter came we had a very special request. My friend will not drink Pepsi so we brought a can of Coke with us and asked if we could ot for a Pepsi but drink the coke she brought. Not only did he say yes, he said no charge for the soda and offered us a cup with ice. We made a simple order with with plenty of special requests which were all met with NO hesitation! We got 2 Quesadillas, 1 with chicken and 1 without & we got fries, but also asked for sides of pickles, ranch dressing and guacamole. Everything was brought out and the waiter DEREK D, could not have been nicer. We were also checked on by the manager Michelle 2 separate times and she stopped to check on us but also chat with us. This was an amazing dine in experience, especially after so many months of take out while the dine in options were closed at many places. Side note: we did have leftovers that we did take out and were given separate containers for the pickles and ranch in addition to the container for the quesadilla and fries. We always have caleb O because we specifically ask for him. It's for a good reason. He is hands down the best server my family and i have ever had. He is always checking back just enough to not be a bother but often enough to be sure our every need is let. Soda refills without asking. Taking trash or at least something off our table with every visit. Pre busts down to drinks were still drinking. The works. This guy knows his stuff. I usually don't give chain restaurants anything over 3 but Applebees hit the mark today. I usually don't go here but it's easy and cheap with my toddler. So I tried the prime rib dip. It was pretty, pretty, pretty good in the words of Larry David. I was pleasantly surprised how good it was. It doesn't compare to a smokehouse sandwich but for Applebees this was really good. I am grateful that they have the Impossible burger, though I didn't order it this time around. I opted for a salad. In the bathroom there were paper towel and toilet paper on the floor and the trash can was overflowing. It wasn't dirty or disgusting, but my experience would've been better if someone had taken a moment to get the trash out of there. The Applebee's located on Rt 2, in the Stop & Shop plaza is a skip and a jump from my home so we will stop in here from time to time for a quick lunch or dinner. The menu changed recently and there is lots more beef now, along with chicken, a bit of shrimp and couple of fish dishes. The salads all seem to have some sort of meat in them, bacon or chicken, but I suppose you can ask them to leave the meat out if you are a vegetarian. The staff seems pleasant, the booths are clean and the food standard fare. Nothing to rave or complain about, just what you'd expect from your chain restaurant. Worst experience I have ever had at an Applebees ever tonight. I ordered the 8oz steak with mashed potatoes Medium rare. Everything was perfect and server was okay. when my food arrived I cut into the top and it already was weird to me because it was well done, but me being me I did not want to complain so I just ate it. When I got to the middle is where things went bad. The steak was extremely rare in the middle and had tendons or muscle. I'm not really sure but it was disgusting looking. It was basically white stringy things coming out of it. That is when I called the server over and told him it looked gross and I couldn't stomach eating it. His solution to this problem was to give me an entire anatomy class on what exactly they were and how good they were to eat. He also said if I wasn't comfortable eating it I should cut them out myself. Telling me that I ordered it more rare so it looked fine to him. problem solved right. If I could give no stars I would. Took my daughter there yesterday, I ordered a cheeseburger and she ordered the Mac and cheese. We waited like 45 min for our food, then, my burger looked like it fell apart so they used the cheese to put the pieces back together, not to mention it was so over cooked it was crunchy. Then my daughter noticed her Mac and cheese looked like soup, there was so much sauce from the chicken. Very disappointed, the manager apologized, but actually tried to tell me the Mac and cheese was supposed to look like that, I just asked him if he was serious, she orders that all the time, usually it's just lacking cheese.
