If I could give it zero stars I would. 4 people in my party and we all ordered off of the express lunch menu. Service was slow and our food came out cold. The manager was unwilling to do anything to compensate for the horrible experience. Plainfield has plenty of restaurants in the area but this is one I will never recommend. read more

For starters I want to say me and my family love Applebee's. That being said this location has been our worst experience ever at any Applebee's. Started with walking in and there was no host/hostess so us and another couple waited for around ten minutes before even being acknowledged that we was there. Apparently the manger was also the host that night and he was horribly unkept, messy hair, scraggly unkempt facial hair, wrinkled clothes and a general unclean feel to him. The server was attentive thankfully and gave us good service. My wife asked for water with no lemon and after sending back the first water with lemon seeds at the bottom of the glass, and receiving a second glass with lemon seeds again on the bottom resigned herself to drink it. The food was generally good except the four cheese Mac and cheese was very watery and not flavorful. All in all was a very poor experience. read more

Terrible service all around. Right off the bat the beer was barley cold. It took 30 minutes to get a Margarita. we had to chase the waiter down for water refill right after he filled the table next to ours and had half a pitcher left. Another server accidently made eye contact with me and imideately looked the other direction to avoid me and walked away quickly. We sat down before a 10 top and 2 other 4 tops and ordered first and watched all of their food come out bedore ours. After almost 2 hours of not recieving food we walked out. This Applebee's is really something.... and not in a good way. I dined here before heading to the airport for lunch. I've dined at my local Applebee's in Orlando, FL and had really great food, but this one was terrible. We started with some spinach and artichoke dip which was probably the best thing I had in that lunch. I ordered the new wedge salad and I could barely eat it because the lettuce had an odd taste to it. I do not know if it was the water they used or if some chemical got into it. Needless to say I just had them take it away. When my sirloin steak came it was almost raw inside. Yes, I did order mine medium rare because I feel like these places tend to overcook sirloins but I did not order it very rare. The only reason I gave this place 2 stars was because of the way management handled my undercooked steak situation. It was brought back to me and it was still kind of undercooked but I was so full from the mashed potatoes and the dip I couldn't dig into it. At the end the manager told me she was going to take care of the steak for me since it wasn't cooked right and it took a while for them to make me a new one. I didn't even bring up with bad wedge salad... Overall: good service but terrible food quality. read more

I went there as I had a meeting in the area. A little before noon, I was one of 3 people in the whole restaurant, lots of wait staff milling about. My server was prompt and friendly, but my half a salad took over 15 minutes to arrive. I wish I'd ordered the whole. For $8 I figured I'd get enough to tide me over til dinner, but it was a small 9 inch plate that was about 2/3 covered with a thin layer of lettuce with a little bit of chicken. No roll, nothing on the side. For $8 I can get a huge salad with a side at Panera down the road in half the time. The server was really good, and was really trying, but I won't be back. read more

I love this place. The staff is friendly and upbeat, the food is delicious! We shared the new nachos and quesadillas - amazing. The new menu is really out of the box for Applebee's, and a huge upgrade. Wow. Top it off with a kid-friendly atmosphere for our five year old. We'll definitely be back. read more

Came here for lunch. After I was seated, I informed the waitress I wanted the $1 margarita special. She asked me which one I wanted. I asked her which ones they had, we flipped open the menu and there were two different types. I told her I wanted the strawberry. She brought it to me. Later, when she brought me my bill, it showed my margarita was $7.99. I informed her it was supposed to be $1, and she proceeded to tell me it was in fact not part of the special and it wasn't a $1 margarita! Didn't offer to do anything to make up for it! Not only that, half of my 6 oz sirloin was fat, food wasn't great quality like it used to be! Disappointed! read more

I went to Applebees in Plainfield with my mom, sister, and my son. Applebees is mine and my sons favorite he is 2 yrs old so everyone knows usually you would want fast service having a 2 yr old well we go in and get seated right away and waited about 5 mins and the hostess comes back and asked if we have been helped yet we said no so she walks up to a waitress and tells her she has a table the waitress looked at our table and started telling the hostess no then we waited another 5 mins as multiple waitresses walked by not even bothering to ask us if we have been helped we waited a total of 20 mins and never got help we left and went to chilis which served us right away ! read more

To give this restaurant any star at all is overrating it. If I had a choice I would have given it 0 stars. Our food was atrocious, awful, disgusting to say the least. Like Samatha T, we too never go to Applebees but my baby sister decided to take me and my mom for mother's day today and out of respect I went. My moms steak was so bad that she spit it out and couldn't even eat it. It was so bad that she did not want a substitute. My ribs were under cooked and we paid $85 for this awful service then left and went to pandera bread. Imagine paying twice because of the horrendous food. Please do not go to Applebees. If I could give a lower rating than one star, I would. I've eaten at Applebee's many times before, but never at the Plainfield location, so my boyfriend and a couple friends decided to go there last night. First of all, there weren't many people there eating besides a few tables, so we figured we wouldn't be there long. When our waitress came, she seemed very lazy and wasn't in the least bit welcoming. We ordered our drinks and then our food maybe 5 minutes later, but it took almost an hour before our meals came. My friends who ordered burgers barely had any fries with it, and not to mention they were way too salty to even enjoy. Another one of my friends got the steak, and she said it wasn't cooked well at all, could hardly chew it, and said it tasted like it was just taken out of a freezer The waitress never once refilled my drink, so I was stuck having to share a drink with my boyfriend. While my food was okay, for how long we all had to wait, there seemed to be a lot of issues with all of our meals. When we finally paid, two people paid with credit cards and the rest with cash, but the waitress seemed to have problems understanding which card and check went with who, so she said she went to make sure she didn't charge the wrong checks to the wrong cards. One of my friends also found that she was about to be charged full price for one of the half off appetizers as well. Despite the terrible service, we all gave her tips. The next day, those who paid with cards found out that not only were they charged the wrong order, but they were charged twice by Applebee's as well. So my boyfriend called them only to be told by the manager that she can't do anything tonight because they were too busy and because she didn't know who the waitress was. We all decided to go to the restaurant in person to try and see if we could get everything fixed. When the manager came out, she acted very unprofessional and was extremely rude and it was like she thought the entire thing was funny. She was very unwilling to help us and only offered to give us gift cards or a free meal since their policy is "no cash back refunds". We tried to explain to her that we don't want cash back or gift cards or another night of their terrible service and food, that we just wanted a refund on the cards but once again, unwilling to listen, she became very rude and refused to help us, despite giving her the information she needed. Needless to say, we got the general managers number and we will definitely be getting ALL of our money back and we will not be eating there ever again. If you want to try this Applebee's, go ahead, but based on how many negative reviews versus positive reviews there are for this location, I wouldn't waste your time. read more

I visited this Applebee's twice in the last 3 weeks (2/12 and 2/25). Both times the service was extremely slow. On the 12th we waited over 15 minutes for our server to appear and then an additional 20 minutes for our food. I had my two grandchildren with me ages 6 and 3. I told myself I would not return due to the slow service. On 2/25 I was with my 17 year old grandson and he was hungry and wanted to stop in at Applebee's. I told him of my previous experience but was quick to add that perhaps someone had called off and I should give them a second chance. Our server arrived in about 5 minutes which was shorter than on the 12th. We ordered our drinks and when she returned I asked for a few more minutes. After 15 minutes she reappeared and we asked for an appetizer plus placed our food order at the same time. Twenty-five minutes later our food arrived and when she placed the food on the table said she realized she forgot to put in the appetizer. I told her that was ok - don't add it now. She did not reappear until we had completed our meal to check if we needed a refill or how everything was. The food was ok but service is extremely lacking. I definitely will not be visiting Applebee's in Plainfield again. Hope they get proper training on service or more cooks in the kitchen. Very disappointed in Indianapolis. Darlene G. read more
