We went to Applebee's yesterday for lunch and did the 2 for $25. You pick one appetizer and two entrees. Some options on the menu had an up change. We chose the spinach artichoke dip for our appetizer. It came out steaming hot. We both chose the new grilled cheese burger for our entree. It was a very cheesy burger served on potato bread. Served with fried and tomato soup. It was a good burger and I liked dipping it into the tomato soup. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. We were in a bit of a time crunch and she kept everything coming out quickly. I don't go to Applebee's very often but everything was good today. read more

I came here while I was waiting to pick someone up. This location was open until 1am on a Saturday. I only got a mocktail and it was delicious. The bartender was super nice, very friendly and easy to talk to. I'm surprised more people don't come later at night, given everything else closes so early around this area. Just wanted to give a shoutout to the bartender Devin because he was great and made my waiting time go by faster. P.S. they have happy hour in the afternoon (like 3-6ish) with 1/2 off apps and drink deals. From 9pm to close, they have 1/2 priced apps again, which is a steal. read more

I recently visited Applebee's in Plainfield after a very long time on a quick business trip. The service was, as always, amazing. They have great options in their menu. Their vegetarian options are very limited. However, if you ask them for a classic grilled cheese sandwich with tomato soup, even though it is not in the menu, they'll make it for you. The inside ambience is quiet. This place is business casual and family friendly. They have a good parking spot right in front of the restaurant. They are located right on US 40 in Plainfield. This is the last time I order from here. I am so sick today and just wanted to order from somewhere I didn't have to go in.... So I opted for the curbside when I placed my order. Placed my order at 1:43, app told me to be there at 2:03. App showed my order was complete. It didn't say I needed to call, but since their signs outside have a number after a few mins I called. Let them know that I was there and what spot I was in. At 2:15 still nothing. I left and called the manager and asked her to just cancel my order and her only response was "well did you come in to pick it up?!" Couldn't have cared less. This is not the first time I have waited well past my quoted pickup time. Or gotten home with my order to be shorted multiple items. I only ordered boneless buffalo wings and loaded mashed potatoes. Went with the family a few days ago. Like several other reviews of Applebee's, I feel like what used to be a special kinda place has lost its way. Service was just okay. Food all seemed prepackaged or frozen or shrink-wrapped or something, like there's not actually any cooking going on in back anymore. This place smells! My kids commented on it when we first walked in. It smells like dirty rags. The women's bathroom was worse. It smelled like sulfur and was dirty. There was a period pad on the floor just hanging out. My daughter was hiding her face in me because she couldn't handle the smell. In 3 years I have lived in Indy I went to Plainfield Applebees once. It was terrible. I went a few weeks ago because a friend who lost her husband insisted we go to Applebee because it was her and her husband favorite place. Maybe other Applebees are better, but this one is terrible then and terrible now. I had bbq brisket tacos and it was terrible with little amount of beef in those tacos, mostly tortilla. I gave it 2 stars because we did order a combination appetizer, and the manager didn't like the way the wings looked when it came to the table so he immediately took them off the table back to the kitchen. I thought ok that was weird. Someone else ordered spicy shrimp pasta that had a hair in it. The shrimp looked raw as well. It was redone and came after we were all finished with our meals. There was less shrimp than the original dish. Oh well that explains why I don't eat there and will only go back if I have to. read more

This place definitely needs some help. Once we got seated for dinner our server was too busy hitting on females to come over and help us. Normally the experience at an Applebee's is average or better. Sadly this time we had a disorganized staff. The meals came out in phases, meaning courses split apart from what they went with. Burger first and 5 minutes or so later out came the fries. Perhaps the kitchen staff was new, the serving staff didn't seem bothered with it or even concerned about it upon being asked. A little less attentive to us than normal as we had to get someone's attention for a drink refill. It will be a while before I return. Hopefully they can improve things. read more

We were told it would be an hour wait at 1015 at night. They had open tables but told us they were expecting graduation parties. When we asked to sit at the bar we were told they didnt have enough cook staff. We go to this applebee's every Thursday from May to October and this is the first time they wouldn't seat us.
