First off took forever to get, then my daughter's pasta was cold like it just came out of the fridge, then my hamburger bun in the middle was raw! The bread itself! It was like biting into dough! This is my #1 go to place as someone with Celiac Disease. The servers here are always very considerate and couple of them are very much aware of what Celiac Disease and Gluten Intolerance is. I went to Applebees tonight with my family and we had the worst experience here. Our server Noah decided flirting with one of the hostess was more important than coming to check up on our table when our drinks are empty. We were lagged on the whole time we were here. We got charged 3 dollars for each drink, only one of our drinks got refilled once, he offered me a tasting of their IPA and ended up giving me a tall glass and charged me 10 dollars for a beer I didn't really even want. I got the riblets plate and the riblets were covered in bbq sauce yet the meat was tough and the fries were almost rock hard.I could snap them in half with a pickle. We went here with high expectations. Kids food was good but we could make it at home. Nothing special. But their entrées were not appetizing at all. Not to mention their drinks. We ordered some Arnold Palmers, we drink that all the time and it wasn't equally blended. We also ordered alcohol and they were not served well. Their Old Fashioned was more vodka than anything. Didn't take more than two swigs. We also ordered one of their happy hour drinks, a blue one with a shark in it, and that was more sugar than anything. I have been here lots of times in the years we have lived in Menifee and loved it. But in the last 3 months it has declined so much I don't think I will be returning. The last straw was today. We waited almost 30 minutes before anyone even acknowledged that we were there after we were seated. When a server finally approved she just asked "no one has taken your drink order?" We told her no. Then she proceeded to say "I told her you were here. Let me go get her " and took off again no eye contact, no, "let me take your order since you have waited so long" nothing. And she took off again. So after 1 minute we just got up and left and so did the table in from of us since they were there as long as us. FIRST - Our biggest new gripe is their "PROMOTIONS"!!! Free ticket to Top Gun if you order $25 - nice!!! We did that. We got our code. But it was not honored at Fandango - "the code is no good or out of date" - it was NOT out of date. So we called Applebee's Corp and they hung up on us three times, picked up and then dial tone. THAT'S NOT ALL: at Christmas time, we got the promotion for purchasing gift certificates. One $10 promo worked - the other did not. We complained - they gave us a new one - it did not work, but the nice manager at Menifee allowed the $10 off anyway. She was great. SECONDLY - This place has become really bad. The food is mostly okay and some of it is absolutely great.... BUT - service? Bad!!! Not so much the servers, but there is always-always a wait - a long wait - with many many open tables that appear to be available for immediate seating. Unfriendly greeters... never seem happy to see you. We were once told there'd be a 2 hour wait. We spun out - there are plenty of other Menifee restaurants with no wait!!! AND - don't tell me - it's because of Covid and they can't get help. We were at Texas Roadhouse yesterday and it was BOOMING with every table filled, people waiting outside AND the help running around everywhere serving people happily. Went with my boyfriend a while back, first off they took way longer than they said it would to sit us at a table but there was a lot of customers so I get it. The appetizer was the highlight of our visit.. but that's it. Once our order finally came out, my boyfriend bit into his burger & a long blonde hair was pulled out with that first bite. He was starving so I just decided to put that aside for a bit & share my sandwich with him for now but when I split it in half, we found another blonde hair! At that point I was fed up & told the waitress & she called her manager. Since the pandemic it's becoming increasing more challenging to get quality food. So I suppose I should not have been too surprised by the lack of quality from my to go order tonight. I requested that all burgers in my order be cooked with "no pink". Now I eat enough burgers to know that sometimes a little pink may be present, which although I'm not crazy about I can accept. The bartender Lisa at the bar was so dam rude on my first visit. I didn't think much of it maybe she was having a bad day. But I went back 2 weeks later, and she was just as rude as the last time. Very unprofessional customer service. Because of limited outdoor seating there was a long wait. There were 2 party before us. We had been waiting for more than 35 minutes already. 2 tables became available and people got seated. Now we were supposed to be next but to our surprise we were still 2nd in the waitlist. They seated some people who just walked in. We asked the host why is that he said that the manager told him to seat them. Apparently they knew family or friend of someone who worked in. Another business added to this city, can't say it's a bad thing that they're bringing business and jobs to Menifee. Opens at 11:00 am, you can come here for brunch, lunch or dinner. We wanted to support the place even though we've been to an AppleBees before and pretty much know what the food is like. Our waiter was Jimmy, he was nice and knowledgeable of the menu but clearly was nervous, that was fine with me. Still great service! He made sure to put in our entree order a few minutes after putting in our appetizer so that we would have time to eat our appetizer. Which we got the honey barbeque bone-in wings, not bad, but not great either. Maybe we should have went with the buffalo wings instead. For drinks, I got the frozen strawberry lemonade because it was so hot outside and it was that good, I had to order it. My husband got the blue agave margarita and that wasn't too bad, not strong though. For my entree, I got the margarita queso chicken and shrimp, very good, but the chicken was a bit dry and the shrimp was cold. Hence why i took a star off. My husband ordered the 7-oz sirloin with mashed potatoes and vegetables, it was good. My daughter got the corn dog and applesauce packet to share with her sister.
