We had a horrible experience tonight. My husband, my children, and I stopped here for dinner to celebrate and our experience ruined it completely. They have new tablet things on the table. You can pay $0.99 cents to play unlimited games so I allowed my autistic son to play to keep him from being distracted by the happenings around us but the stupid thing stopped working ten minutes in. We waited over 5 minutes to have our drink order taken. I ordered the appetizer at the same time as our drinks (chips and salsa) yet it took 25 minutes to receive them. The server seemed so irritated and did not smile even ONE time the whole time we were there. Our food took forever, tasted burnt, and my husband's order was wrong and had to be sent back. We went forever without refills and they attempted to double charge us for the meal that had to be sent back. Our experience turned our celebration into a nightmare and we were in the restaurant for more than an hour and a half and I assure you with 3 small children that might as well be an eternity. They are only getting 2 stars for one reason and that is the bartender. My son forgot his favorite Hotwheel so I went back in to retrieve it and after such a stressful experience I stopped at the bar for shot. The bartender was so sweet, friendly, accommodating. She was more friendly in 45 seconds than my server had been the whole visit. I absolutely hate this restaurant and will stick to the Santa Maria Applebee's. read more

The staff deserves at least four stars and the place is very clean and new but some of the food we had was terrible. We will be back but we will definitely not order the Mac&cheese again. Real low quality here. I've gone four times. Once, they offered curdled sauce on my lady's pasta. Once we got sick, and the last time I had the steak, veggies and potatoes I got a bunch of papery skins in potato mush, dried veggies and the roughest steak I've ever had. I judge fairly. I understand I'm at a chain restaurant and not a fine Italian bistro, but there's a limit. Never again. Also, the hostess was ridiculously awkward the last time. I guess I've had luck with my visits here since I haven't experienced what most reviewers have. Maybe because I usually eat early dinner and always order the same thing...Oriental Chicken Salad, which is really good. Most of the servers have been great and the wait time for food is always decent. My biggest complaint is the air con. Why does it always have to be on full blast even on a cold day?! I mean who wants to freeze their ass off when trying to enjoy a meal? I think it's hilarious that I always make sure I bring a jacket when going to Applebee's. And whoever put those booths right behind the server's station was a moron! What an awkward and uncomfortable place to have to sit. My Aunt Helen and I frequent Applebee's often. Service is slow so you should know it's going to take time to get your food. We enjoy the 2 for $25 special and we enjoy their desserts. Since Applebee's was advertising a special for 11/11 (Veterans Day) we decided to give them one more chance to rectify the otherwise lousy food we have had there in the past. The place was loud and noisy but the waitress was polite and attentive and proceeded to serve us two 7 oz.. sirloins that were undoubtedly the worst we have ever had anywhere. They should have come with a chainsaw! The veggies were OK but I could hardly taste any chocolate in the chocolate shake I ordered for my wife. I suppose I should not complain since there was no charge for my meal, and I should have sent my wife's back, but after 25 years of military service this was an insult. Where do I start... my mother was visiting and we took her here and I felt incredibly horrible after that because the service was so bad. Our server Ally was SO rude. They gave us the wrong food and others at the table had their food overwhelming undercooked. When we called Ally back to our table to explain what was wrong, she rudely cut us off and got the manager for us. He fixed our meals but Ally never came back to check on us or even ask us for refills which at one point, literally all of us needed. She would walk right by our table multiple times and didn't even look in our direction. She was beyond rude. We literally had to flag down the manager to get some service. He ended up waiting our table for the rest of the night & he was amazing. Me and my family agreed never to return here again. The manager took over and everything was fine after that but he couldn't make up for the bad taste our previous server left in our mouths. WelI, I was pleased when Applebee's came to Lompoc, because most I've been have been in are very good! That being said I'm absolutely shocked that Applebee's would allow a restaurant with their name on it to operate this way.... so many negatives that never seem to change. The first issue seems to be not having trained employees, you can walk in and see empty table and booths, so you would expect to be greeted and seated quickly...nope! You can see staff spot you walk in but, there seems to be no hurry to either greet you or get you seated. they have no qualms about having you wait while they decide they where they will put you. No sense of urgency or friendly service attitude. This has to be because they haven't been trained in proper customer service procedure. Once you are seated they usually get drinks to promptly, but after order your food it is slow and coming out and the quality often quite bad. Very disappointing because it is not an inexpensive place to dine. They have a good menu but, often what you get is not what the picture looks like on the menu. It's sad that they can't get it together because some of their wait staff are excellent, but most exhibit a couldn't care less attitude. There just doesn't seem to be any management oversight, which is just hard to believe...Applebee's needs to fix this... read more

The rating is accurate, if not too high. Four of my last burgers were overcooked. The food doesn't come as advertised and lacks seasoning. The only thing worse than the food was the waitresses. This time the waitress knew she forgot something on my wife's plate (which came out ten minutes before mine) and when I asked about it she said it was coming out on mine ... She didn't even give us silverware. And we had to wait 10 just to be asked what we wanted to drink. I would be more upset of this was the worst experience we've had so far. read more

Our server Yvette was really nice, but the manager was a bit rude. we showed our server a coupon that was sent to me by corporate. Our server validated right away then she came back and asked me if she could take my phone to her manager because she wanted to see it. I automatically told her no sorry I don't lend my phone to no one which she completely understood. I asked her to tell her manager that if she wanted to see the coupon she could come to the table. The manager came and immediately asked to see the coupon without asking how we were doing nor introducing herself. Then she proceeded to say that they didn't validate coupons because they were usually a scam. We place our order just after 1pm. At 2:35 we received our food! And guess what, my order was wrong and my wife's burger was cooked beyond death. It was so dry and almost black all the way through. My burger was just wrong then when I complained and the poor waitress took it back to the kitchen the cooks sent the same burger back and said it was fine (even though it was not the burger ordered). It was not fine. I told her to tell the kitchen to make the correct burger and asked for the manager. The waitress returned and said the guys in the kitchen were being very rude to her and the manager would be out in a minute. I explained the issue and he took both burgers and said he would be back in 7 minutes. 18 minutes later he returned with fresh burgers. Mine was over cooked again but my wife's was fine. The manager thanked us for letting him know his kitchen staff sucks beyond belief. He removed the burgers from the bill but it still cost us for 2 ice teas. Why they didn't comp our entire bill is unbelievable to me. 2 hours to eat 2 burgers. Sadly this was about the 5th time this has happened and the 3rd time I've talked to this manager. He didn't remember me. They usually screw up something and then treat you like it's your fault. I am done with this restaurant. This buisness was one of the cleanest Applesbees I've been into and that's why I gave it two stars. Other than that my experiance was aweful for an 11:30 lunch on a Monday... With only 5 tables occupied i shouldn't have to get my own silverware and napkins, not have a single refill the whole hour and a half I was there (I would have asked but I only saw my waiter twice). Went there for my husbands birthday this weekend and I was amazed at how bad the food was. I ordered a BLT sandwich. You'd think that would be pretty hard to mess up? Right?
