The staff here were friendlier than other Denny's, which is why I even gave 3 stars, though it took a couple minutes of standing there waiting at the counter with multiple workers walking by avoiding eye contact before even being acknowledged of my existence. I Ordered on the app, one single kids meal, and it took 40 minutes. It was the middle of the week in BETWEEN rush hours so it seems like it shouldn't have been so long with how little people were there. Food tasted mid as always, but I was expecting a cheap fast meal out of desperation. Nothing exciting in the slightest, just...'edible'. Again, the 3 stars were because AFTER the waiting there, being walked by as if I didn't exist for a few minutes, once they were "ready" to acknowledge costumers again they were actually friendly. The reviews were not good but my visit was surprisingly good. My friend had the nachos and she said they were great. I got the turkey dinner. It was really good. The turkey was juicy, mashed potatoes were spot on and that garlic toast was crunchy and flavorful. The service wasn't great tho. There was one girl at the counter who was having an issue with something about the customer trying to pay. We stood there for more than five minutes and finally my friend asked if we could be seated. I understand she was busy with someone, but there should be someone else who can step in and seat us. Once we sat down, we waited another five or 10 minutes for someone to come take our order. So I go into Denny's on my way to other celebration for my birthday activities for the day. I asked the guy server if he would tell me which meal is included with the grand slam birthday breakfast he said that they don't do that anymore unless I have a coupon so I looked on my app and he looked up my app and found my coupon so I ordered my food. The skies energy level is at a one the girl that's bouncing all over the rest of the restaurant has a nice high energy. Glad to see what can I give you? How can I add to your breakfast, she gave the gentleman in a $.99 ad on something that I probably could've used instead of a $4.99 sourdough order extra to dip my eggs in which when I got my eggs, they were flipped over easy however they were raw still in the middle of both. Went for breakfast this past weekend. Around 7 am.Since I wanted French Toast , I ordered from the regular menu. ( NOT the Sr Menu) There were only three other customers at the time. So, don't get why my food was cold. The sausages were on the cold side.Hash browns lukewarm and French toast the same. Sausages are like Tootsie rolls. And the Bacon is the THIN already pre- made style. I know about the bacon, as I use it occasionally . I always order the chicken skillet when I go to any Denny's. I didn't like this skillet it wasn't as good as usual. it did have enough juice and it needed more flavor. Haven't visited a Denny's in years. They used to be a solid place to have a decent breakfast or burger. My wife discovered that they offer a free birthday Value Grand Slam breakfast on your birthday. So I printed out the QR certificate & went to my local Santa Maria Denny's. Fortunately, there were no homeless hanging about. The Value Grand Slam is a very slim at best breakfast priced at $6.99. 2 eggs, bread or biscuit/gravy, and 2 sausage or bacon. Maybe enough for a small child. You can add hash browns for $3. So even though my meal was free, I had to write this review. I am a retired old guy who has lost patience with the degradation of business models, horrific franchisees, and product quality. The product here is just awfull. I asked the server (who was quite nice) about their biscuit and gravy. Was it "sausage gravy"? The reply was "yes". So I ordered biscuit & gravy, sausage links, and scrambled eggs easy. Not real complex. My breakfast plate is delivered to my table & I notice right off that the 2 sausages are 2-2.5" long ... smallest links I have ever seen with no taste. The eggs are cooked medium. But the worst part is that the gravy is the absolute worst I have ever tasted. I was not expecting much, but drywall mud is tastier. Their were small chunks of some meat in the gravy, but definitely not real sausage. Makes a Mc donalds breakfast look legit. I left a tip for the server and wonder how Denny's stays in business. We decided to sit at the counter instead of getting put on the waiting list and waiting for 15-20 minutes. I drive a friend to medical appointments near the hospital, and when the appointments are through my friend wants to go to Dennys. While this is not a restaurant I would select for myself, I find myself pleasantly surprised with the quality of the service and the food. Since I'm not a big breakfast eater, I opt for the California Clubhouse with Seasoned Fries. My breakfast companion enjoys perfect pancakes! The pancakes are 8" across with precise formation. If you're a pancake lover, this place is for you! The coffee is always fresh and hot. Mood- Extreme Hunger After working 6 days in a row and the days begin to just roll one into the next you become hungry. Hangry even. In this city, things shut down early and this was a quick option for us as we had to be back up at 5am to do it all over again. Upon entering was quickly greeted and sat down. We were told that they're not a participating restaurant for this, despite their big sign on the front of their restaurant advertising they are! 2. We ordered simple meals. A family of 4 came in after us, ordered after us, and got their food nearly 10mins before us. 3. The nachos were soggy (probably sat under the warming lights for too long). They replaced them. 4. This was the absolute worst Denny's I have ever been to. It was Christmas night, and there was a good amount of people there. The silverware was dirty, and the food was not edible. I ordered scrambled eggs and toast. The eggs were not cooked enough, and the toast was cold, and butter not melted. I sent it back. My son had a sandwich and fries. He couldn't eat it either.
