We went as a spur of the moment kind of thing. The wait was a bit long but nothing I wouldn't expect on a weekend night without a reservation. I really liked my drink. The crab was good but I can't say I loved the Cajun sauce, it wasn't my favorite and the potatoes were okay. My boyfriend really liked his food. The cheddar bay biscuits are always a plus. Saw the deal about the endless shrimp on social media! I came with my friends to try the deal and it was totally worth it. For $29.99 per person, you're allowed to get 3 different type of shrimps and 1 side at the first order then proceed to order 2 more "refills" whenever you want. They have a lot of options for what shrimp you can order, ranging from fried to grilled! The best I ordered would have to be Walt's Favorite Shrimp or the Garlic Shrimp Scampi. The coconut shrimp wasn't too bad either, it was just really heavy the more I ordered it. We were offered more shrimp options that weren't displayed on the endless shrimp promotion card! My friend's really enjoyed the grilled shrimp on skewers and the crispy dragon shrimp. Definitely think that this was a good deal if you're starving or haven't eaten a lot during the day. read more

She never writes down the order and yet it's always perfect. LILY IS THE BEST!!! We had a party of 20 people for a birthday and were blessed to have Lily as our server. When we finally were seated which did take some, Lily jumped right into action. The last time I was at Red Lobster I swore I would never go back, yet here we are.. My 92 yo mom wanted lobster so we went to the Santa Maria location against my better judgment. To start with despite the restaurant being literally empty, we had to wait for 10 minutes. Apparently they didn't plan properly in the server department. Once seated our server was pleasant and brought drinks and biscuits in short order then apparently forgot when we asked for more . I decided to order the Mariners Seafood Boil even though it was $51.00 because the menu picture looked great. However, what we received was in no way what was pictured on the menu. The lobster tail was about 2 inches long! I wish I'd thought to take a picture because it was so small it was almost laughable. Except it was costing me $51.00. The 6 snow crab legs were so small I couldn't get the meat out of them and the several shrimp were about the size of a thimble. I can't tell you how stupid I felt for forking over $51.00 for these tiny items swimming in a half inch of melted butter. This time I WILL NOT go back. I have to add the fact that my husband's fish sandwich and fries were really good according to him and mom's Mariner Seafood Boil had reasonably sized crab legs. Im still not going back. read more

The young lady who was our waitress was very nice and I give her 5 stars. The manager I would fire. One of the glasses was dirty, it had food caked on the rim, which happens. Called the manager over and told him, he looked and acted like it was nothing and we were bothering him. He never apologized, he asked if we would like a new glass of water which we said yes. He leaves the table and comes back with a new glass but leaves the dirty glass there then asked if he should take the dirty glass away, like we want the dirty glass left on the table. My wife had to order the shrimp trio with Walt's shrimp instead of popcorn shrimp for about $8 more. I ordered the straight Walts shrimp, but they were out of broccoli and baked potato, so I ordered the bacon mac & cheese. The server was very good, but it took a while for the food to come out. The fried shrimp (Walt's) was nothing to write home about and were all alone on the dinner plate. The Mac & cheese was very dry. My wife liked her meal and had a generous amount of shrimp pasta. Our to go order took an hour past the scheduled pick up time and my husband was given roughly half of our food, with a whole entree, my child's meal ans drink and condiments and biscuits missing. The manager was not helpful in fixing the situation, offering only a free dessert, when I paid over $150 for this ruined meal Our food was prepared awfully and was not warm. My lobster was like rubber. The broccoli was disgusting due to being overcooked. My poor daughter was in tears because her meal and the biscuits were not included, and my husband didnt even get to sit down and eat til after 9pm after driving back and forth and waiting. We had a great meal on 12/22/2024 and exceptional service, by waitress Jasmen! Jasmen gave great service! She remembered everything, was speedy, was nice and a hard worker. She was the best waitress we've had here. The food was great. We came in January 2024 and got poor service and poor food. But this time, my lobster was perfect! It wasn't rubbery and it had such a delicious sweetness to it. The same with the snowy crab. The shrimp was good too. My spouse's steak was delicious also. Love the Red Lobster in Santa Maria. Their biscuits are warm and delicious. Plus the menu includes many daily special such as lobster and shrimp on Mondays, snow crab on Tuesdays, etc. There's also currently all-you-can- shrimp served in various ways for only $20. The Bairdi snow crab dinner that has been featured on television ads includes pan fried cubed potatoes under the crab legs, and one side order for $36. The manager, Robert, is very nice and will come by for a chat. The servers are also helpful -- Tina, Edward, Tatiene, Olivia. They work as a team to ensure good service. This location is open until 10 pm during the week and 11 pm on weekends. Surprisingly, customers like me come during those late hours and the staff is courteous and welcoming. My favorite restaurant in Santa Maria. I drive from Pismo Beach (about 15-20 minutes) just to eat at this Red Lobster. Be sure to sign-up for their Rewards and get points toward more food. read more

Took our Mom out for Mother's Day dinner and had one of the worst dinners ever! Had reservations for a week and still took another 15 minutes after our reservation time of 7:30pm to get seated. Then ordered a salad that I had to ask for after being seated for 30 mins. Then dinner gets to us after over an hour wait and our salmon was overcooked and gummy tasting, the rice was undercooked and crunchy and the brussel sprouts were burnt black. A couple of days ago, I went to Costco in Santa Maria for gas. On the way, we noticed the signs in front of Red Lobster announcing happy hour and lobster fest. We decided to give them a try. We are so glad we did. Lily, our server was wonderfully friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. She really took care of us as if we were family. Can't say enough good things about her. Trey, the manager of the store was equally friendly and accommodating. He knows his shit (!) and conveys a breadth of knowledge and passion for the company that is refreshing. After speaking with him and Lily, we knew we were being taken care of at the very highest levels.These people are great Red Lobster ambassadors. Oh, yes, the food! We opted for the lobster platter and the lobster flatbread, and found that the lobsters were of a good size, both being tender and succulent. We were so pleased. Our server was very friendly and pleasant, even though it was the end of her shift and a very busy day. Although the restaurant was quite busy, our food arrived in a reasonable amount of time. Our entrees were delivered hot, attractively plated and ready for us to devour. Today, we ordered the Ultimate Surf and Turf and the Bar Harbor Lobster Bake. The Ultimate S&T lobster tail was succulent and very flavourful. The bacon wrapped scallops were perfectly prepared - the bacon was done to a nice crisp texture enclosing the four moist and tender sea scallops. The steak was ordered medium rare, and arrived perfectly prepared as ordered with a delicious char grilled flavor. The Ultimate S&T is served with one's choice of two side orders. I chose the green beans and a baked potato. The green beans were snap crisp & flavorful, and the potato baked to a fluffy perfection. The Bar Harbor Lobster Bake was so loaded with scallops, shrimp, mussels & 3 quartered lobster tails, it was next to impossible to find the linguini below. But, we managed. The flavor of this dish was sweet and superb. As the portion was generous, we left the restaurant with half of the entree in tow for another meal. We were greatly pleased with our meal & service that was above our usual expectations for a Red Lobster restaurant. Both of today's meal selections contained a substantial quantity of ingredients and one could taste the quality of each. The service was prompt. Overall, a very pleasant, enjoyable dining experience. Sometimes I feel the need to satisfy my chain craving to bring back some childhood times. Sadly it never is what I remember. That first Dairy Queen Dilly Bar, McDonald's cheese burger or first bite of that Red Lobster roll... This had to be the oddest Red Lobster I've visited. This location doesn't have a bar--yet serves beer, wine and cocktails?? I was alone after work and figured I could sit at the bar. Nope. I suppose Applebee's or Chilis would have been a better choice in this instance. This location also doesn't have free Wi-Fi which was a bit rare now a days but also a bummer being that it was just me dining alone. While inevitable, apparently Red Lobster is also affected by supply shortages. They were out of Walt's favorite shrimp (of which they told me after I ordered), straws, AND large take home boxes. Hmm. The waitress Heather took about 10 minutes to greet me, of which it was "I'll be right with you." Once she returned, it was a quick order since I knew what I wanted. If then took another 15 minutes before I received my beverage (without my requested water and a lemon) and basket of rolls. Unfortunately the rolls were luke-warm at best. Fifteen minutes later the entree came out and I asked for a water again. She didn't apologize or realize that she forgot it, but did ask if I wanted more rolls--of which I'll always say yes. The rolls never came, yet the water did. I had given up on reminding her of my requests by this time. The meal itself was decent, though the coleslaw tasted rancid or spoiled. I was thankful that there was a machine to close out my bill because I saw two other tables wait around a while to settle before leaving. Heather didn't seem overwhelmed or have too many tables since staffing was in abundance compared to many other businesses. Perhaps an off day...or a normal one. I'll never know. Can't say I'll be back to a Red Lobster for a while. Now I regret not supporting a local, smaller seafood business. Lesson learned. read more
