My family and I went while they were in town visiting, this is always my favorite spot to eat as the food is absolutely delicious and I don't think you can go wrong with anything on the menu. The wait times can be pretty long, especially on the weekend but I think it's worth the wait. Highly recommend the beef bulgogi!

Great experience at SizzlinGogi! It was my first ever time at KBBQ and it was a memorable one. The service was GREAT! Our waitress checked in many times and had good tips. The food was fresh and all the little toppings at the table were really good. While it was my first time, the group I went with were KBBQ regulars and they agreed that the food and service were top notch. The restaurant had a nice vibe and friendly service.

Yea, it's simply just fine. The price of the basic set is a bit crazy for how many choices you get but that's whatever. The brisket is alright, just a bit tough and lacks fat. The other meats are a bit better

Came in for lunch and ordered AYCE "all you can eat"on menu C (which is normally roughly $40, but during lunch is $36). Menu C consists of everything on menu A & B plus ribeye, shrimp, rib meat, and short ribs. Got there 20 min after opening and only needed to wait 5 min to be seated. Each table is set up with a grill, banchan (kimchi, sesame oil sprouts, cucumber kimchi, pickled radishes, and pickled jalapeños) , salad (cabbage based with a tangy dressing which was too bitter for my taste), seasonings (steak sauce, some sort of sambal/chili paste, and salt - which i add a little sesame oil to), and utensils (chopsticks, spoon, scissors, and tongs). I will always ask for sliced garlic, salt, pepper and sesame oil - to season the meats because only few meats are marinated and I enjoy grilling the garlic slices. I do prefer having lettuce to wrap the meats and banchan because the rice is pretty filling BUT charging $6 for lettuce? I would recommend the rib eye (seasoned with salt and pepper prior to grilling) marinated short rib, beef belly, brisket, shrimp (came seasoned), steamed egg. Service could have been better - felt as if they weren't very attentive since i needed to ask 3 times for sesame oil and that was 2 orders of meat in. Waitress also wasn't the friendliest - just felt as if ordering more or asking for something else was an inconvenience for her. As for decor it's just very grey - no actual pictures up on the walls. Pretty greasy - you can see it on the walls and light fixtures. There is an alcohol fridge in at the entrance with floor to ceiling wine and boxes of beer and soju on the floor. There is music playing which reminded me of playing DDR (dance dance revolution). They used to have outdoor seating during covid with cute patio lights but not right now - maybe they'll bring it back when its warmer? Overall - it is overpriced and the only KBBQ spot in the area and it might not hit the spot but you can get your fix.

    Spicy pork bulgogi

Outside smell so bad like sewage but inside was nice and dim. The wait is long but understandable. Once we were sitting down we waiting about 20 minutes to be ask for drinks and order (I assume it was maybe busy) we asked for the tier 1 and the waiter name Amanda ask which 3 dishes would you like I said the "bulgii, and the uhh" and she said "I'll get you the first 3 then you can make up your mind later" um that was a weird way to take the order but I just nodded and waited when the food came I ask her if they have any spicy mayo or Sriracha to dip it with she giggled and said "no spicy mayo is japenese" I know it isn't as deep of a statement but that's when I felt a little tripped out of. The patronizing tone of it and overall vibe of the waiter made dinner a bit uncomfortable. It didn't even end with that, like as I was saying, the food arrive the the table (1. Pork belly 2. Beef bulgogi 3. Beef brisket) usually the waiter leaves the food and the customer grabs which to cook first but the she grab the beef bulgogi first and threw it into the pan and some spilled onto the table she grab the clamps to throw it back into there and said "start with this one first". We finish with the beef's and started cooking the pork belly entirely (2 slices of the serving) . About 2-3 minutes past by cooking and the waiter comes to my table and grabs the pork belly that's cooking in the pan and cuts it in four stating "it cooks faster in slices okaayy". Such a weird experience at this restaurant. First place that doesn't have spicy mayo or any dips and gets condescending about it, chooses the meats for you and throws the meat in once it touches the sides of the table, and grabs your food midway through. It didn't end there after I asked if we could get the spicy pork bulgogi, we waited around 15-20 minutes for it and other waiter comes in asking if we ready to order anything else I said we put a order in for the spicy pork bulgogi a while ago and she says she'll go check on it, the waiter Amanda comes back after saying that meat cooks in the kitchen not in the pan if we still want it. I said uh yea that's fine but you could've told us that when we order it. She just smirked at me and went to place it 5-6 minutes past and the food arrives in this small rectangular foil container. It was mostly sauce on it but we ate it and then the waiter comes back leaving the check saying "no rush here's the check". We paid it, stacked up the plates and left. Honestly it was a very uncomfortable experience there. The one by San Luis Obispo name "Honey Belly" are much kinder people, great fresh food and have multiple dips you could choose from. I only came here because it had higher reviews than that one, but I honestly regretted it.

The wait today est. 45mins but it's so worth it though. We've been here so many times but today we got some premium short rib on the house (seasonal) from the store manager. He's so kind that even offer to cook the meats for us to its perfection eventhough he's pretty busy. We really appreciate that! It tasted so buttery and tender customer service always above and beyond. This made our night even better! Thank you so much xx

I do like the food here but tonight I felt like I was penalized for eating alone. Not allowed to order AYCE as a single diner. I offered to pay for two and even then not allowed the AYCE menu. I ordered the three item combo, which was a ton of food! However the same price as the AYCE menu. Ambiance is okay. The server kept turning the grill down so the meat would just simmer instead of getting a sear and some grill marks on it.

Food is ok, and I'm pretty sure it's a requirement to be unapproachable and rude to be a server here lol, haven't had a good sever once.

Is this an all you can eat place?

You can order a la carte, but we always go for the fixed price all you can eat option.

    Is this place still operating?

Not sure. Heard they were delivery or pick up only.

How many people do you need to make a reservation?

I was told 6 the first time I called and then 10 the time my dad called, but they all wait for you to get there before you are seated. Hope this helps :)

    Price on lunch for AYCE?

All courses are $4 cheaper during lunch

I believe they offer Lunch specials but it's not listed on the online menu. Does anyone know?

There is just a set menu for lunch, the do not offer AYCE at lunch time anymore. Your best bet would be to look at the a la carte menu since that's probably most similar/what they offer at lunchtime.

We live within easy walking distance so we took a nice little walk. As we entered there was music playing on a record player which was great and the shop was set up nice and neat with a welcoming bar or tables to take a seat. We were instantly greeted by Mark and asked what brought us in today. We let him know we wanted to do a tasting and he let us know that his selection today was from Thatcher. There was a rose and a few red blends and a Syrah. All very tasty. Mark was educated and well informed in the blender and his styles and profiles as well as the offerings and gave us notes with each pour and answered any questions. Wine isn't all available there was beers on tap as well as some non-alcohol options. We ordered a small charcuterie plate which for the price at a small wine bar was good and above what I expected. We through conversations with Mark mentioned we wanted to have our ballroom dance instructor at Allure Ballroom to do a wine and dance social cause the businesses are so close and Mark said oh I could easily host it here and move some tables we've done events before. So... That being said stay tuned I have Marks card and will be talking to Yvette at Allure Ballroom to see if we can arrange a local ball room and wine social. The music played was great easy light classic rock and the clientele was friendly and good to converse with as we shared a few drinks and snacks. This will definitely be a normal outing for us and hopefully we can get a great local old Orcutt business co-op event going. If you haven't stopped in and seen Mark Steller who lives up to his name. Do it sooner than later. Great business and great wines and beer... Oh they even had a cider on tap.

Almost didn't come here as thought we'd end up with the same... Upon walking in we were greeted by hostess right away asking if we wanted to dine in bar, dinning room or patio. It was a nice night and contemplated patio but the bar lounge area looked inviting and chose the space with hair on hide backed booth and comfy chair. I settled in the corner booth, it was so comfy. Such a nice treat from the night before on hard wooden chairs at that other place... Our waitress was so nice and friendly. She was slammed but very attentive. Sitting back and watching the very busy bar, you saw locals coming and going and staff knowing them all. So encouraging. We settled in on the Bullseye, the largest version aka Ribeye and shared it. I went ahead and added an extra salad for me and just shared the rest of sides. Comes with a shrimp cocktail with the babiest shrimp, I've never seen them that tiny. I don't rate sea food so I just watched. The hubs likes sea food but prefers fried shrimp. He ate a few bites but again it's not really his thing. I got the side salad with ranch and he got clam chowder. He loved his clam chowder. I was pleasantly surprised at the mixed green salad. Everything was great! Steak cooked perfectly with great taste and tender. Baked potato was so good. The beans had a great taste, I'm not a huge bean person but something was up and I enjoyed a few bites and two slices of bread drenched in the bean gravy juice, so good! I asked for a side of chimichurri sauce (saw it on the menu), I used that for my steak and it was a great flavor adder; it didn't need it I'm just a sauce condiment person. We were stuffed but I decided to get dessert to go. Settled on the flourless chocolate mousse cake. Before leaving notice a couple tables over had what looked like a chocolate cake square with ice cream on top. I was hoping that wasn't what I ordered... because I was expecting more torte/mousse. Upon arrival at our RV I checked and yes I got what I was expecting! Even stuffed I just had to have a bite, OMG! So amazing. The slice of mousse cake/kinda like a soft torte came with fresh raspberries, strawberries and mint. A bite of that chocolate with a berry was heaven! The restaurant has such a great feel, think decor you'd find at ranches in Texas, plush seating, cattle pictures. We felt at home and can't wait to come back. Planning on the hubs getting his chowder us sharing beef skewers and a twice baked potato. He might just get two bowls of chowder! Then more dessert as they have a pastry chef on staff who likes to change up offerings.
