Got takeout the other day. I ordered the bbq beef with bbq short ribs. The seasoning was good and the portion size is huge. I got it with rice and extra veggies. The beef ribs were a little burnt but still very tender and good. I also ordered a Hawaiian bbq chicken mini meal with fried rice and veggies. The rice was just soy sauce with very little toppings for fried rice; it was more like seasoned rice, but still good. The portion size was huge again; very generous on meat serving. Overall, good price for the amount and quality of the food. The staff was nice, and order was ready by the time I arrived.
Stopped by for drinks and snacks for the road back home from Pismo Beach. The restaurant is located in a shopping center; ample parking nearby. It was clean with indoor seating; has cute boba and island themed decor. Decided on spam musubi and bbq pork buns, which to my husband would be easy to eat while he drove. Ordered via the kiosk that was near the register/counter. Employee was friendly and delivered our order to our table within a few minutes. My taro smoothie was refreshing & the honey boba was fresh and had the perfect chewy consistency. The steamed pork buns were delicious as well, and wished we had ordered more!
This place never disappoints when I'm craving Hawaiian meat and Mac salad. I call in the orders when I'm in a rush and within 10 minutes I get a TEXT that it's ready, that is very convenient and user friendly. Inside is very vibrant and quiet when I go.
Great service. Smoothie could have been better. Though it was milk based, it tasted more like a fruit smoothie. Menu seemed appetizing as they also had food items.
The food was fine. Each Hawaiian bbq place seems to do their specialties a bit differently, and that's what probably makes them unique. I ordered the katsu chicken and bbq beef combo. Compared to other places I definitely liked this beef, it has a good thickness to it. Katsu chicken was fine. No complaints. Macaroni salad was fine too. Even though they have a few tables and chairs indoors, the place isn't really conducive to indoor dining if you're wanting a full sit down dining experience (my 2 cents). It appears most will order takeout. But there is some outdoor seating that works well on a nice evening like this particular visit. The one downside is that while placing my order on their ordering kiosk, it asked me for a tip before checkout. Um....this was before a single worker had even spoken to me. So I didn't know what the tip was for.....use of the kiosk maybe? Even after that I was handed the food without the employee saying anything to me. So, that whole tip thing didn't make sense to me.
I really wanted to like this place. I don't like taking off stars. So why only 3 stars? It wasn't the location or condition of the property itself. The ambiance is nice. The location is easy to find within Crossroads Shopping Center next to Wally World (aka Walmart). The place was clean. The kiosk to order your food is a plus. The prices were reasonable. The selection of smoothies, boba teas, and appetizers were decent. I take off two stars for two things. I ordered the combo plate with BBQ chicken and Short Ribs. Both meats were very salty for me. I know other love really salty flavors. Not me. They offered soy sauce packets on the side too and there was no way I using those! I think both meats had been drowned in them. If they were not so salty, I think it would be so much better and then people can add soy sauce if they live in Salty, USA. The other star was the kimchi. Was that kimchi? It looked like kimchi but it lacked the spice and fermentation of kimchi. It looks like they work hard here. The food came out in decent time. The server was friendly. Lots of good things here. With some modifications, this place would step out of the slow lane and into the fast one. It is called 101 for a reason. I wish them well.

First time here. Walked in greeted by a sweet lady. I got katsu chicken and crispy shrimp plate with rice and Mac salad. They wasted no time in getting my meal to me. The food was hot and there was a lot. The Katsu was crispy and not greasy. The Shrimp was a little over battered for me but was still good. Now the Mac salad they got it down excellent taste. The inside was cute. They had fresh water you can drink while waiting which I took advantage of. I'll be back.
Solid lunch spot when you are in the mood for crispy/ fried food. We sampled the chicken katsu and garlic chicken combos. The garlic chicken reminded me of "popcorn chicken" and had a nice sweet glaze. Portions are huge and can probably be shared if you aren't overly hungry. The combos come with 2 scoops of rice and a choice or salad/Mac salad or kimchi. I also scored a complimentary Thai tea with my first online purchase. It was a nice touch. I don't think I'd go out of my way to return for boba drinks but I'll definitely be back again for lunch.
Nice location with free outdoor parking, they have order machine on site. I came here during lunch time, the lady here greeted me nicely and get my food ready pretty fast. The garlic chicken is crunchy and tasty. The macaroni salad is lacking a bit flavor. $13 something for a meal. Good experience overall.
Small Taiwanese restaurant. Doris and her husband run the shop. Both are very sweet and welcoming. We've tried several dishes and I'll just recommend the food we liked. The Garlic chicken is by far the best dish they have. Lots of flavor, texture is good and great portions. The "torpedo" shrimp is also delicious. Try it out

These were probably some of the best Kalbi Short Ribs i've had! The meat was tender and not hard at all and flavor of the meat was delicious. I got a Passion Fruit Iced tea with lychee jelly and the sweetness of the iced tea went well with the kalbs short rib plate. The workers were nice but it did take quite a while for the food to come out, maybe about 30 minutes. The inside of the restaurant is decorated so cute and they even have a little spot in their counter where they sell cute keychains and pins.
I think 101 Grill had some of the best Hawaiian bbq I've ever had! I ordered the short ribs with chicken, and the flavors were amazing. Proteins were generous and juicy/ tender. We walked up to a self-ordering kiosk, but they do have a register and can take your order. Super casual and convenient! It's one of those places where the food is so good, you should probably be careful not to over indulge! read more

I tried this place on Oct. 12th and had a good experience. The cashier was super friendly and easy to converse with. I like that the prices are very fair. The red bean sesame balls were delicious! I wouldn't mind going just for that. The chicken katsu was good! The fried spring rolls were not my favorite and I would not get again. The inside was just mush. The whole inside is super clean and neat. Even the restroom was spotless clean. read more

Wow! Where have we been?! The food was so good! We ordered a little bit of everything I think. The proprietor was very nice and accommodating. She even threw in some pot stickers on the house that she wanted us to try, they were terrific! Everything we had was delicious! Now that we know, this will be one of our favorites! read more
Cute little small boba/Korean bbq restaurant. Staff is friendly. Food is ok. If you're in a pinch to grab Americanize Korean bbq then this is the place for you. We ordered the single plate beef short ribs w/ kimchi and teriyaki chicken and short ribs w/ kimchi. The bbq was flavorful but salty. Kimchi was ok but I think it's homemade it was not the typical Napa cabbage just the regular cabbage in the kimchi. I do love their digital ordering kiosk. If there is a long line you can skip the line and order. Which was super cool and convenient. Anyway, I do recommend this place to order take out and bubble tea (they have a variety of bubble teas to choose from). So drop by! read more

Love it. I tried the Kalbabi Short Ribs and it was delicious. The Korean BBQ was sweet and they gave me a lot for a plate. I just tried the chicken teriyaki last night . Here's a picture. Saw a sign at Crossroads in Santa Maria about a soft opening for 101 Grill so stopped by there to pick up lunch. Located where Dickies used to be, near Gamestop. Very interesting menu, with a traditional cheeseburger with fries, along with Japanese items such as pork katsu, chicken gyoza and Korean with a side of kimchi. They very delicious hamburger is $8.50 with a huge side of julienne fries which were also very good. Bought 2 of the burgers, along with the cheesy beef croquette with 2 sides ($9.25), and a free order of the chicken gyoza due to the grand opening, all for less than $29 out the door. Besides rice and kimchi, you can also get potato or macaroni salad as the sides. read more

Great little new spot! Very Covid-19 safe! I got the Honey Golden Shrimp and they were HUGE, delicious shrimp! I kept it low carb and went with all greens for the side but the other sides, macaroni salad, potato salad, and kimchi all sounded delicious too! Should be a great addition to the restaurant scene here in town :) read more

They serve Boba Drinks now since this place reopened!! I got the peach iced tea w/ honey boba and it was very delicious! I also ordered the teriyaki chicken food combo and steamed pork buns, and all of the food was amazing and flavorful! Very sweet lady that took my order and made my drink. Most definitely coming back!! The owner currently has an online promo (5/17/22) FREE BOBA DRINK with a purchase of a food combo !! read more

I saw 101 Grill on my trip to the FedEx store and wanted to try it. When I decided to go on Sunday, I learned they were closed. Oh well, that's fine, I went on Labor Day Monday instead. The place was clean. They had a water dispenser and cups set out which was great. I only wished the water had ice or was chilled. It took us a minute or two to place our order at the self-service kiosk. In hindsight, I probably should have asked questions about the meals or placed my order at the counter. Our food came out in a timely manner and off we went. I wouldn't dare leave the parking lot without first tasting my food. The portion was very large (teriyaki chicken). I got mine with two scoops of rice and a side of vegetables. I wish I had selected three scoops of rice and no veggies because the veggies were in no way comparable to the small scoops of rice. More rice was definitely needed for the amount of chicken and the sauciness of it. It was a little salty for my liking and was dry, as if it had been sitting under the heat lamp too long. All in all, I'm glad I gave them a try, but don't think I will be returning. My son enjoyed his smoothie. read more
