Culichi's Zone is finally open again and I'm so ready for their Tule!
    Sara G.

Culichi's is back and I'm so happy they are! This place is a must visit if you are a fan of seafood and Mexican fusion. First off, get "El Tule" it's a literal tower of fresh seafood covered in a blackened spicy sauce. For those of you who like aguachile, this is like a blackened aguachile. For those of you not familiar, this is the kind of spicy that builds on itself, and it's an addicting kind of spicy that once you start eating it's hard to stop. Keep in mind, it's bigger than it looks and you could easily feed 2 people with it, just by itself. The price is definitely worth it for the portion and quality of ingredients. The Shrimp and the octopus were not rubbery at all and the avocado was super fresh. They also do Mexican fusion sushi. It's definitely different but in a good way IMO since more options around town are always a plus. We personally really liked them. The rice is made a bit softer than Japanese style sushi, it has non-traditional fillings like beef and chicken, and the rolls are deep fried, so it gets cooked twice. We got "El Menor", the flavors are spicy and savory and you get the creaminess of melted cream cheese mixed with that amazingly cheesy topping similar to dynamite rolls. And shrimp + bacon as stopping for sushi? Yes please. I think the best way to describe "el menor" is kinda like spicy Philly cream cheese steak sushi, cuz the middle meat is some thin cut beef. You just gotta trust me here, if you like cream cheese in Americanized sushi, you'll probably like it here too. As an important note: the waitresses right now are still in Training. They are very kind and attentive, but please understand this is probably their first job, so be kind.

This place is great I really enjoyed the food. A lot of the complaints were that this place was overpriced and I don't agree at all. People can see the price before making a purchase so they could have gone someone else if they don't like the price. Service on the other hand was kinda bad I did have to take my cup over for a refill because the servicer didn't come ask if we needed anything but other than that the food was great

Order was To Go.. they put food inside the lid and leaked everywhere. Small portion for the price.

Be careful if you order food To Go... they used an UPSIDE DOWN styrofoam container with compartments. All the good juice leaked out. They basically put the food inside the lid which is not fully sealed on the corners. In addition, look at the portion!! Very small portion compared to other times I've ordered Tostada Mitotera. I don't mind paying $18 for this dish, but come on, add a little more.

This so good can't wait to go back!! Tacos gobernador too.

Food was delicious, I suppose that matters a lot. The service was lacking, but once they realized we were not happy with the speed and attention, they picked it up. I will most definitely return for their food. The Tule was soooo good and the tacos gobernador yummy!

Ceviche comes with the tostadas on the side

The tule was good, good amount of spicy, plenty of different seafood. The ceviche we did not like. It tasted too much like powder chile and didn't have very many shrimp. We would go back to try other items on the menu.

This is a new restaurant located on the corner of a small shopping center. I went in on a Friday night for dinner. The place is a little small but has enough room for big groups. We ordered 3 different rolls, one of them had chicken and bacon in it. All 3 were surprisingly good! The only reason why I didn't give it 5 stars was because service was slow and the prices were a little high. I would recommend this place to friends and family.

I did the drawings for building permits on this restaurant. Newly opened. Yum! Something different if your in the mood for some seafood. I'll be back to try more.

Admired the "Best of Northern Santa Barbara County" awards from several recent years while we perused the menu. An oyster cocktail (a dozen raw, shucked oysters in yummy gazpacho-like tomato and lime, cucumber and onion) $23.99. Fantastic! Also the Camarones Ensenada (house special bacon-wrapped shrimp)- plate, served with tasty refried beans and fluffy, spicy rice $24.99. The bacon wrapped shrimp were very fresh and wrapped so perfectly in an origami-like crispy bacon shell. I loved, loved those. On Sundays they make fresh corn tortillas right there in the dining room. The photo won't do them justice - they were heaven. A tasty fish taco ($6.99) to cleanse the palette, plus a great horchata ($3.99). We lingered and were so impressed by the warm and wonderful service. We saw one of their cocktails made with mint and need to go back soon to try it! The owner was at the register and he is so nice. The parking lot is a bit hectic but not agro. This restaurant is killing it! Will be back!

Food is excellent my husband ordered a steak and shrimp plate the steak was flavorful and cooked just the way he liked it. I tried a shrimp tostada and fish tacos those were tasty. My only complaint was that the taco gobernador was very spicy I enjoy spicy and can handle spicy but this was overpowering I had to put lemon and salt on it. The ambiance is great plenty of seating the inside hasn't changed it's nostalgic to me and reminds me of when I used to come here when I was younger. Definitely recommend here for Mexican seafood.

My family and I had this spot to go because it was a little too small and tight for my grandmother who is in a wheelchair. I was disappointed to hear that they were out of vegan pho and I've been craving pho on a gloomy day. My non-vegan family had the #4 Pho Bo Vien (Beef meat ball for $14.95), #1 Pho Dac Biet (Thinly sliced beel, brisket, tripe, tendon, and beef meat ball for $16.95), #8 Al-Pho Combination Rice Plate Choose any 2 meats: Pork chop, Chicken, Short ribs for $19.95), and $14.95 #13 Bun Thit Heo Nuong Grilled pork for $14.95. For the pho, additional meat is $2.50, and rice/vermicelli plates for $3. Six piece Al Pho wings were $10.95. They are fried with peanuts and you can choose between two sauces: super spicy ghost chili sauce or hoisin sauce. The prices were affordable especially for the size of the dishes. The staff who took our order were nice and the people in the kitchen worked quick. There are restrooms in the back. They sold cute planters as well. Will be back if we are in the area.

To start with despite the restaurant being literally empty, we had to wait for 10 minutes. Apparently they didn't plan properly in the server department. Once seated our server was pleasant and brought drinks and biscuits in short order then apparently forgot when we asked for more . I decided to order the Mariners Seafood Boil even though it was $51.00 because the menu picture looked great. However, what we received was in no way what was pictured on the menu. The lobster tail was about 2 inches long! I wish I'd thought to take a picture because it was so small it was almost laughable. Except it was costing me $51.00. The 6 snow crab legs were so small I couldn't get the meat out of them and the several shrimp were about the size of a thimble. I can't tell you how stupid I felt for forking over $51.00 for these tiny items swimming in a half inch of melted butter. This time I WILL NOT go back. I have to add the fact that my husband's fish sandwich and fries were really good according to him and mom's Mariner Seafood Boil had reasonably sized crab legs. Im still not going back.
