A true hidden gem and super underrated restaurant!…read more The hubby raved about this place, but I have only tried the takeout food, even tho they were good, I wanted to wait until I got the full dining in experience to write them a review. So glad I finally got to check them out in person! The inside looks simple, but makes you feel like you have stepped foot into a little piece of Japan, except it's much more spacious than most restaurants in Japan lol. Their menu is simple and might be a shock to some people that they offer only a few basic rolls. However, their main star here is the japanese entrees and meal set. I opted for the Masa Gozen both time for to go and here. The portion is hugeeee! It comes with several different vegetable sides, a large order of tempura, 2 pieces of gyoza, and miso soup. It's more than enough to get full from, but of course my eyes are always bigger than my stomach, so I had to order several appetizers to share with my husband and toddler. Highly recommend the sashimi salad! For the amount of food and the quality, I can't believe how cheap everything is. My Masa Gozen was less than $25 before tax. Excellent food and bang for your bucks! I really hope they continue to strive and flourish. If they start offering more sushi rolls options on the menu, it'd definitely help attract more customers!

I went with the green tea ice cream which was great. Also ordered the edamame which was fantastic. They serve it warm with salt sprinkled on it, just the way I like it. I would have given this place 5 stars if the bbq beef was a little more tender. It was a tad overcooked.

Wow got here in time for the early bird dinner (4:30-6:30pm daily) and it's a good deal! Entree…read moreitself is a good portion and loved that it also came with baked potato, salad, relish tray, salsa, garlic bread and their Santa Maria style beans. Lighting inside is very dim but still comfortable. It wasn't too crowded at 6pm but would probably be better to make a reservation. Luckily I was able to get seated within 5 mins as a walk in. By 7:30 though both sides of seating areas were full. My server was attentive and food took about 20 mins. Of all the items, I enjoyed the relish tray and baked potato the most. I couldn't quite distinguish what was SM style bbq from the tri tip though and the beans were a little salty for my liking.

It was a wonderful experience. Great service great food very enjoyable. But unfortunately, today's experience was anything but enjoyable first off. I ended up after 10 minutes having to go to the bar to retrieve my beer order. Second, my medium, rare filet mignon 12 ounce came back, medium. The first time we went, we were offered warm bread and butter, which didn't happen this time. After I finished my beer, I set the glass on the edge of the table. The waitress came by and checked on the tables on both sides of us and didn't even look our way so I had to go to the bar and order my own second beer. Because we were assured on time, I didn't wanna complain about the overdone filet mignon so I choked half of it down at the end of the meal. I asked to talk to the manager who was not there, but they brought the cook Manager he said, because I ate most of the steak. They were unable to give us any kind of discount and offered a free desert which we were not interested in. I know they have the capability of doing a matter job just be aware and make sure you're getting what you're there and paying for.

All 4 of us ordered the Tri Tip sandwiches. The tri tip was very flavorful! probably the best tri tip I had ever had. TH=here was some good smoke flavor in that meat. Sliced very thin, it was so easy to eat. No fighting the meat. Bread was buttered. BBQ on the side was Sweet Baby Ray's. I found that the BBQ sauce took away from the sammich, so I did very little dipping. If I come again, which I hope I do, I will order that sammich, but prepared in the same manner in which they prepare the roast beef sandwich. We took some chile verde sausages home to try, and those have a strong and memorable chile taste. For people who do not like spicy, beware. For the rest of us it is a satisfying burn. It is a pork sausage. Wife denied the purchase of the blackberry habanero sausage, so I will be left wondering about those. We also grabbed their pesto mayo. We will be trying that this week. I think I would have liked it on my tri tip sammich. I love pesto on anything. Place ain't cheap, but what is?
