The restaurant gets one star for her. Now let's take a look at the tacos... I couldn't tell by looking or even tasting which was beef or chicken? My wife could not tell? I took a couple bites and had to stop... My wife took one bite... OMG, she had to stop. These were by far and away the most greasy, oil logged tacos ever! Now the oil was not old... But I'm not entirely certain that the oil was fresh either. It's actually kind of rare for me to slam a business with one star... If not for the cute, efficient and cordial posters, I'm very sorry to say that burrito Lalo would actually get zero Stars for unconsumable food. We ended up taking a couple more bites to the point in this picture where there is half of each Taco left... And that is what went into the trash. Even the bag of chips... If you ate one and a half or two of the chips... You could feel the oil like crazy in your skin immediately. Maybe my palate and skin is just too clean? Maybe I'm too sensitive.... But I don't really think this is actually the case when my wife and I independently arrived at the same immediate conclusion. There's no way that you need to try this place first... This is regarding the Orcutt location. Sat in the back patio and froze our tails off as the kid was slowly putting together an outdoor heater. Never finished before our food came . Had to move inside and my kids had to carry their own plates of hot food to a spot inside. Asked for no beans in the supreme burrito; came with beans. I had chili verde with 10 pieces of meat and 5 were just fat. My son had chicken fajitas and had stomach problems all night and I did today as well. Not sure if I will retry this place. Service needs to be better and prefer table service not walk up and pay for my check or move tables and carry our own food, oh and the baby fork was a little ridiculous. Again, another high rating, largely because of the outstanding staff. Our family has been coming here, sometimes for dinner, usually for their excellent salsa for about 20 years. The one consistent factor is that they have always had the most helpful, prompt and caring staff. We've never had a bad experience here with staff, or the food. Recently, two of our friends suffered family losses. On short notice, on both occasions, I was able to reach out to Burrito Loco staff for "to-go" platters to assist those friends and their families with fulfilling meals during their trying times. Burrito Loco nailed-it both times, providing quality food and prompt service. When we've dined inside, the food is consistent, has the right amount of spices (for my taste) and is always a welcome treat. I probably would never have darkened the door of Burritos Lalo. It's in an unassuming shopping center (I remember the days when all that property was St. Mary's Episcopal Church and flower fields! My how times have changed!) and there's nothing particular that cries out "Eat here!" But eat here you should! Burritos Lalo has all the typical Mexican food bill of fare. From my few visits I don't see anything out of the ordinary. And the taste of the food is good too...I was surprised by all the folks walking in and out. But what really sends a bliss factor in an over-the-moon kind of way is their salsa. Goodness gracious these people know what they are doing! I've had a lot of salsa in my time but nothing quite like what Burritos Lalo makes and services. You might say, "Why come to a place just for the salsa?" Because the salsa levels up all of their other food! I might be dating myself here but years ago there was a commercial that bragged about adding their product to your tuna and wow, it not only made your tuna better there was more of it! This is by no means that long forgotten product but similar in what it does for the food. Burritos Lalo makes a good Chili Relleno...but slather some of their salsa on it and it becomes exceptional. The same is true for all their other products from chips to burritos! Their salsa is where its at! In conclusion, on my next pilgrimage, I'll be making my way here for more. We eat at the Buellton location often and the food is always good. First time here and probably the last. I always order huevos rancheros with hashbrowns, even at dinner. I just can't! I ordered a delivery order ($40.00) calling in it seemed like the person on the phone was distracted, why would tell her my order and she would ask again at least two times what I said. I looked at the menu before hand. I ordered fajitas with asada, one asada supreme quesadilla, one vegetarian quesadilla supreme no tomato and a chicken taco. After about 45mins it came to my door my daughter was starving she had the quesadilla with asada it did not come with rice and beans but my other quesadilla did. also there was jalapenos all in the quesadilla which was not stated on the menu and my daughter could not eat it. The fajitas we're delicious except for the vegetables were not even cooked all the way I had to re- saute the vegetables. The chicken taco was not in my order, also the vegetarian quesadilla supreme had carrots in it which was not stated on the menu it was a lot of carrots I couldn't even pick them all out. Tried to eat at Floriano's for lunch today, but the line was out the door. Still felt like Mexican, so we decided to try this place on the way out of town. Ordered 2 beef chimichangas and chips/salsa to go. Took less than 10 minutes and it was ready for pickup. Did some shopping at nearby Albertsons to make good use of the wait time. Opened up the styrofoam container once I got home and was pleasantly surprised to find a golden brown, perfectly fried chimichanga (see pic). Instead of drowning it with sauces, they let the chimi speak for itself, with side accoutrements waiting to be selected to create the perfect balance. The shredded meat inside was juicy and had great flavor infused into the meat. I opted for the hotter salsa and was pleased with the amount of heat. They did not hold back. Also purchased chips and salsa, but the house salsa was a little too salty for my taste. Overall, a good chimichanga but nothing really extravagant. I would buy it again, but wouldn't go out of my way for it. Pretty basic mexican food here, based on what I have tried. Service was quick and friendly. Limited seating. read more

The girl that took my order took it so fast that she didn't get my address right but it took her 2 hrs to call me back and ask for the right address and said ok your order will be there in 10 minutes.
