Truly tasty tacos, with my favorites being the alambre (onion, mild chiles, bacon, cheese) and the carnitas. Pastor was a bit bland. I didn't try the asada but Sonnyboy said it was awesome. Tacos are $2-$3/each. We also enjoyed an alambre burrito ($9) and the red and spicy light green salsas. Regular verde salsa was just a'ight. They have plenty of beer options and soft drinks. I was in the neighborhood and was in the mood for Mexican food, the big El pastor sign in the window is what drew me in, the inside is a little small but big enough for a sit down meal, the staff was really nice I got my order in and sat down with in minutes he brought the chips to the table, was expecting salsa with the chips but what we got was without a doubt the best refried beans I have ever had, yes beans are usually good, but for some reason, these were amazing! after a few minutes of demolishing the chips and beans my tacos came out, I got two carne asada, and two El pastor tacos, now I'm kind of new to the el pastor tacos, but these were the best I've had. the meat was crispy and juicy and the pineapple on top added a nice sweet and savory bite, after the tacos we got our main, I had a taco salad and my wife got nacho fries, my taco salad was extremely good the carne asada was cooked to perfection. Now the only knock against this restaurant was the nacho fries, my wife said the fries were bland and the taste wasn't there, the presentation of the fries were kind of off putting just looked like they through meat and cheese and that was it, other than that my wife did say the meat was ridiculously good, I just think it's not something that they tend to do are specialize in, it like if it ever orders there that's what you get, and I don't want to knock on them that bad for that, it is a traditional Mexican restaurant so I'm glad the traditional food is the thing that shines the most, I will 100% be back, and I suggest anyone who is in the area and is down for some amazing Mexican food (to go as well.) to try this place. read more

Taco Tuesday! Taco Wednesday! I don't care, just give me tacos. Weeeeell, we have to be careful what we ask for. Let's get to it! Customer service: excellent! We were only doing takeout, so we walked up to the cashier, ordered, and paid. Seamless! Atmosphere: very cramped! I get it. It's Cali, but the front door is a fire hazard if I've ever seen one. One of the benches is almost literally against the front door. I get that the door abnormally opens outward, but if people had to rush out, that would get way too complicated. That bench should absolutely be moved! Also, the station to get your toppings for your tacos is also wedged to against another bench. Maybe that one is a hygiene thing so that people aren't breathing on the toppings on one side, but still. Food: when I got home, I realized that the tacos weren't wrapped or anything. They were just open in a flimsy styrofoam container. That didn't mean much though, because the meat and fish were overcooked. I ended up actually not eating one taco because it was just a disgrace. I hate to bad talk a taco, but dang they did you dirty babes!! Uh! Tip for takeout!! The tacos are bare, so get your toppings (cilantro, onions, and all) from the salsa station before you leave! We love this Mexican restaurant in Lompoc. I eat at this location quite frequently. The place is clean and has a great salsa bar. My usual order is chicken burrito without beans and without rice. There meat always clean and fresh, they cook the meat when you place your order and that is the way it should be. Never in the few year found no grizl in the chicken or steak meat.
