I've tried Tacos El Tizon for breakfast and lunch and it's always enjoyable. The regular tacos were very good, especially the nice crispy shells. Sometimes a simple crispy taco just hits the spot, and these fit the bill. I've also had the breakfast burrito, which was filling and a great way to get the day started. The regular burrito for lunch was really good too. I especially liked the rice and beans, and the salsa had a nice flavor and went well with everything. Overall, everything I've tried has been tasty and satisfying. Tacos El Tizon is a good spot for a casual meal. Oh and good service too. read more

Everything is made from fresh ingredients. I often get the mixed fajitas. There's easily enough food for two meals, plus the tortillas are made here! The people who work here are always friendly and give great service. I highly recommend this place. read more

I've had this place only once but I wish ever so badly to back again lol. The food here is immaculate, I ordered the nachos with carne asada and everything tasted so fresh, the chips were warm and crunchy, the beans were soft but not greasy or oily, the asada was very tender and full of flavor. The cheese was perfect and so were the salsas. I was very impressed and decently a good price for food. Service was absolutely amazing, the people were very kind and although I have a struggle with understanding and speaking Spanish they helped me a lot with ordering my food and making sure it was exactly how I wanted it. The ambiance is very homey, it isn't the nicest spot but definitely not dirty or gross, it's just worn but they do their best to keep it clean. Amazing service and amazing food. The salsa bar has fresh and tasty salsa, while the chips and bean dip were to die for. The guacamole was freshly made and you could tell they made it right there by its freshness. This place is known for their tacos, and I would recommend the Pollo Asada or Carnitas. Make sure to put cilantro, onions, salsa, and a pinch of lime on the tacos. The person who took our order was extremely nice and caring with our food, and that made the experience that much better. Thanks! read more

Greasy, over-seasoned, over-cooked food. Insanely extensive menu, which is always a sign of inconsistent quality. Service was good.

Not much in terms of food out here, this would be one of the better options. Service was great, food did take a bit to come out. The free chips and refried beans were a nice touch, so was the fully stocked salsa bar. Be warned, all of the salsas are spicy, but full of flavor. The pastor tacos were by far the best, followed by the alambres and crispy tacos. Prices are great and portions fair, food authentic and tasty. Be sure to stop in for their 4 for $4 Al pastor tacos on taco Tuesday, they do sell out early, so lunch is your best option. Highly recommended while in Lompoc. read more

Place is perfect for a quick cheap bite. I tried the nachos, nothing I can't live without or out of the ordinary. The salsas are spicy. The place seems like it can be cleaned up a bit, but overall worth a stop. read more

The gentleman that took our order was very nice. After our order was taken, the rest was down hill. Food had no flavor and even had a weird taste. Restaurant was dead yet tables were dirty. The cook was the most annoying out of my whole experience. He was cussing, talking loud, music kept getting turned up loud than lowered. Overall, the environment was very uncomfortable and the food was not worth my money. Employees need to learn to be at least somewhat professional since they are at their job. Best Mexican food in Lompoc! I ate dinner here every night I was in town after I found this place. Great people, very friendly. Terrific authentic Mexican food. Very good food. They guys are friendly. Taco Tuesday is a great deal. I find myself eating here almost once a week. Good beans!

Really good Mexican food I have been eating here since I was a kid and it never disappoints. The service is also very nice and pretty quick.

Probably one of the worst places i've tasted in the area... food was expensive and definitely not worth the price. Half of our food was left there :( i was super excited when arriving as i saw it had great reviews but def over hyped and didn't meet the standards. will not be coming back here. read more

After visiting La Purisima my boys and I decided to try this small taco joint in a strip mall, and all I can say is, Gracias a Dios! Truly tasty tacos, with my favorites being the alambre (onion, mild chiles, bacon, cheese) and the carnitas. Pastor was a bit bland. I didn't try the asada but Sonnyboy said it was awesome. Tacos are $2-$3/each. We also enjoyed an alambre burrito ($9) and the red and spicy light green salsas. Regular verde salsa was just a'ight. They have plenty of beer options and soft drinks. Service was okay. Covid-legit outdoor tables provide a view of the parking lot. Not bad on a lovely warm autumn day. read more

We love this Mexican restaurant in Lompoc. I eat at this location quite frequently. The place is clean and has a great salsa bar. My usual order is chicken burrito without beans and without rice. There meat always clean and fresh, they cook the meat when you place your order and that is the way it should be. Never in the few year found no grizl in the chicken or steak meat. They have the tasting el pastor taco around, hands down. They server each meal with chips and beans dip. See the photo how I prepare my chicken burrito, unroll the burrito and add onions, cilantro, hot sala and squeeze some lemons in it. Yummy. T read more

Taco Tuesday! Taco Wednesday! I don't care, just give me tacos. Weeeeell, we have to be careful what we ask for. Let's get to it! Customer service: excellent! We were only doing takeout, so we walked up to the cashier, ordered, and paid. Seamless! Atmosphere: very cramped! I get it. It's Cali, but the front door is a fire hazard if I've ever seen one. One of the benches is almost literally against the front door. I get that the door abnormally opens outward, but if people had to rush out, that would get way too complicated. That bench should absolutely be moved! Also, the station to get your toppings for your tacos is also wedged to against another bench. Maybe that one is a hygiene thing so that people aren't breathing on the toppings on one side, but still. Food: when I got home, I realized that the tacos weren't wrapped or anything. They were just open in a flimsy styrofoam container. That didn't mean much though, because the meat and fish were overcooked. I ended up actually not eating one taco because it was just a disgrace. I hate to bad talk a taco, but dang they did you dirty babes!! Uh! Tip for takeout!! The tacos are bare, so get your toppings (cilantro, onions, and all) from the salsa station before you leave! Would I recommend? Nope! Will I be back? Nope! There are plenty of other taco places to choose from in this area and in Santa Maria! read more

Maybe it's bcuz we came late at night. The food wasn't great but it was slim pickings at 9pm.

I was in the neighborhood and was in the mood for Mexican food, the big El pastor sign in the window is what drew me in, the inside is a little small but big enough for a sit down meal, the staff was really nice I got my order in and sat down with in minutes he brought the chips to the table, was expecting salsa with the chips but what we got was without a doubt the best refried beans I have ever had, yes beans are usually good, but for some reason, these were amazing! after a few minutes of demolishing the chips and beans my tacos came out, I got two carne asada, and two El pastor tacos, now I'm kind of new to the el pastor tacos, but these were the best I've had. the meat was crispy and juicy and the pineapple on top added a nice sweet and savory bite, after the tacos we got our main, I had a taco salad and my wife got nacho fries, my taco salad was extremely good the carne asada was cooked to perfection. Now the only knock against this restaurant was the nacho fries, my wife said the fries were bland and the taste wasn't there, the presentation of the fries were kind of off putting just looked like they through meat and cheese and that was it, other than that my wife did say the meat was ridiculously good, I just think it's not something that they tend to do are specialize in, it like if it ever orders there that's what you get, and I don't want to knock on them that bad for that, it is a traditional Mexican restaurant so I'm glad the traditional food is the thing that shines the most, I will 100% be back, and I suggest anyone who is in the area and is down for some amazing Mexican food (to go as well.) to try this place. read more

Unfamiliar with the area I left this one up to Yelp and this places seemed to have mostly solid reviews and they have a "Trompo", perhaps this might be the best Lompoc has to offer? But I hate to break it to ya, this place ain't all that!.... You order up front http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/el-tizon-lompoc#a9aC3v9y5_NdncuQnyzFcw pay and are given a # to take to your table of choice/available, while waiting for your food to arrive they bring Chips & Beans http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/el-tizon-lompoc#m6okgFbYjoaJbWEfB5WqFw chips were OK, beans didn't have much flavor but at least they were house made and I thought the FREE beans were a nice touch *(or are they free?) they do have a help yourself salsa-bar with a variety of salsa, and onion, cilantro etc... Tacos come undressed! Tacos - http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/el-tizon-lompoc#rRt3z1gRLNatrjQrG2x5GQ I ORDERED (2) Al Pastor and (1) Carne Asada! Al Pastor - ($1.75) http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/el-tizon-lompoc#4xmK0OqDbwNfak6fLyY-cw Off a TROMPO.... such a DISAPPOINTMENT. Not many places cook Al Pastor properly on a TROMPO, this place does and they butchered that pig, in a BAD way! either the adobo they use is weak and or they do not use enough of it, it also didn't spend enough time on the trompo spinning around the flame, theirs no charred pieces at all, I do appreciate the pieces of pineapple but this is BAD EXECUTION of Al Pastor. 1-Star Carne Asada - ($1.75) http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/el-tizon-lompoc#BTDHMswIZuYZKp_fapfwkA Wait What? That's Carnitas! this was the wife's taco and she was not happy, she doesn't really like Carnitas (Shhh, She's Crazy!) after bringing this to their attention they made a correct Carne Asada taco but I was busy eating and forgot to take a photo... the wife said asada was just OK a little on the dry side 3-Stars Tacos - http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/el-tizon-lompoc#FE8x1IKUGErItUIyhuzIZw Alambre, Suadero y Carnitas Alambre - ($2.50) http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/el-tizon-lompoc#hi7RknFaoQUQF9Bs42vi5w For those not familiar with "Alambres" it a mixture of beef, pork, onions, jalapenos, bell-peppers all grilled together, often served on a plate with a side of tortillas OR as a taco and often topped with Cheese. This one had a lot of cheese so I can't tell you exactly what was in it but it was good. 3.5-Stars Suadero - ($1.75) http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/el-tizon-lompoc#6l4u_5uurZwkMUx19N36tQ Nicely cooked, good flavor BUT as you can see from the photo it was heavy on the fat pieces 2.5-Stars Carnitas - ($1.75) http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/el-tizon-lompoc#D39KSmT_Nr6bjPyz-_7Exg This is some tasty PIG 4-Stars Torta de Al Pastor (6.99) http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/el-tizon-lompoc#_VBSBpxoQa_dUdcuMloPPQ UNFORTUNATELY I picked the worst meat based off that TROMPO and ordered an overpriced Torta at $6.99....... Telera roll was not fresh but OK, lettuce, tomato pastor and cheese.... NO Beans! #FacePalm end of story! 1-Star Prices are a bit higher than what you'd pay in the LOS ANGELES area! AVG: 2.5-Stars.... Keepin' it Real, You don't deserve the bump up to 3-Stars due to your prices! read more

I miss the old El Tizon. When the food was good and the prices couldn't be beat. I would come here once a week but now it's may be once a month or once every 2 months. It was double the tortillas now it's single. The meat is now salty or over cooked. It's not consistent anymore. They raised the prices on all the food. I know they did it because of the Hilton hotel and the contracted workers that come. This was the most real Mexican food in Lompoc. read more
