LOVE this place! My husband and I went for the first time last week to get some drinks and a bite to eat. Our waiter was quick to respond to our table to get our drinks out of the way and he was so kind even to bring us some glasses of water swiftly enough before the drink arrived. Our food, my husband ordered the fish and chips and it was excellent, the batter was great and the fact it didn't have that fishy fryer taste was the best. Our cocktails were mixed just right, not too strong but sweet and tasty. Our waiter was awesome checking up on us every so often but not too much. The atmosphere was great, they even managed to distance tables from other customers everywhere you look, clean and overall very impressed with this place! I will def be coming back. read more

We order bacon cheeseburger and onion rings. It came very dry and without bacon or cheese and with French fries. We sent it back and still they forgot to put bacon on it. We have tried over the last several years to give Applebees another try but this is last time. Food presentation is horrible and almost always overcooked. read more

The service at this location is absolutely subpar and the food isn't all that great either. I typically try to avoid this Applebee's however found myself here once again. Had to ask for utensils and napkins. My son inadvertently poked a hole in the side of his styrofoam cup spilling his drink. I had to ask to get the needed supplies to clean the table then had to ask the waitress to remove the napkins when I was finished cleaning. Took family out for dinner and the waitress got the order wrong. Some how she got chicken parmigiana mixed up with a triple bacon cheese burger. My son ordered the burger and then my daughter ordered the chicken parm. Somehow she thought my daughter said " the same" - The waitress asked if she wanted fries with that and my daughter said I didn't think fries came with that.... long story but the correct meal came out after the rest of us were done with dinner and we waited to start eating. The restaurant did give my daughter her meal for free, but wow it was a bad experience and the food was mediocre. read more

I wish you could rate lower than one star(ya everyone says that but seriously). We waited 20 minutes just to get our waters. Ordered drinks and food at the same time because we could see where this was going. Waited another 15 minutes for our drinks and our food came out 20 mins after the cocktails. Oh and our food...we didn't receive bread sticks and got a death glare from the runner when we mentioned we didn't get them. The FOUR cheese Mac. Fooled us for a few bites, literally no cheese. None whatsoever. I repeat..the four cheese Mac had no cheese. It was absolutely disgusting, our plates were practically untouched before we threw in the towel. The manager was just walking in a circle around the restaurant every 15 mins, just pretending to manage as we saw numerous customers be seated and waiting way too long for even a glass of water. Anyhow, we had previously been there twice, with awful 'service' as well. Only went because we had a coupon for a free entree. We kicked ourselves after leaving for not taking a photo of our food for this site. We are still in disbelief that our four cheese Mac was missing cheese, incredibly beyond an oversight problem. Told ourselves we shouldn't even send it back, we only came for the free entree and it was laughable at that point. This place is the worst I've ever experienced when taking our prior two visits into account. It is not worth your money people let alone your time. The service tonight was the worst I have ever recieved. Applebees in Kyle had maybe 6 tables fullin addition those at the bar. Took at least 10 minutes for waitress to show up. Finnally got our food and she disappeared without seeing if we needed anything. Husband had to get up and go to the bar to get mustard. My husband also had to go to bar to get her to come out of back to give us ticket. ZERO tip. read more

My daughters drink fell and I cleaned it two people cleaning the next table by us didn't offer to help clean it just walked on by. So if you get poor service at this restaurant the management will comp a meal but then when you show up to get the comped meal, you will be put in your place and demeaned for getting that free meal by who I assume was a manager on 10/19/18 although this rude man was not wearing a name badge and I understand why. Applebees will always get customers because this is the only Applebees in town. However, service here is terrible and there are so many other local restaurants that treat customers better. read more

Food- sub par, the apps tasted like frozen fare. Atmosphere- Applebee's.. Obviously lame. Location - strip mall in Kyle - convenient for locals. Service/ hospitality - slow, horrible, uninspired. the unfortunate reality was that it seemed as the service had no ability to multi task. It felt like everyone hated working there, and they hated you for witnessing. I never make reviews, but this place blows. I feel compelled to share. Had dinner here with a friend last week. We each had the 6 oz sirlion with a couple of sides. Although we each ordered our steaks medium rare, they were served well done++. The steaks were also still cooking in the hot iron skillet they were served on. It was a gamble here for a steak, won't happen again. This is for the Curbside service only. Our experiences in side have been consistently good. Used a $5 voucher tonight due to the last Curbside order being severely under cooked. Tonight's order was wrong again, and the manager (John?) wanted to talk in circles and apparently he is not that familiar with the burger menu; not to mention he checked the order personally so how could it be wrong? Here's the problem w/ the order that the manager could not seem to comprehend: The Classic Burger we ordered came with only a bun, burger patty, and cheese. The Classic Burger, by Applebee's own product description includes "Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, & Pickles". When ordering the Classic Burger, a reasonable customer assumes that lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and pickles will be on the burger, it is not required to request that they be added, because it comes with the burger. John's argument is that the order instructions only stated "no pink" (which is was pink by the way), "add cheddar cheese", and a side of fries". When placing the Classic Burger online, the only options regarding lettuce, tom, onion, & pickles is to "remove" them....adding is not even an option BECAUSE THEY COME WITH THE BURGER!. How about a refund for that burger at least? The other burger, The American Standard did indeed have the lettuce, tom, onion, and pickles as we selected to "add". Good job there. Unfortunately, the "no pink" request was not done. And "bacon" that is mixed in with the onion was so little that there was no discernible bacon taste. read more

My girlfriend and I walked in and sat at the bar. There was only one other couple sitting there and the restaurant was not busy at all. After 10 mins of sitting there a waiter said "I'll be right with you" so we sat and waited....and waited... there was about 2 other employees passing by also the manager. He took the couple that was next to us refills then said to us "I'll be right with you" a family walked in the restaurant and sat behind us and the manager went to take their drink order instead of ours!! My wife and two boys decided to come here for dinner tonight. Food took a bit to come out that's fine, understandable. After finally getting our food my son's order was wrong. They gave him chicken alfredo when we ordered chicken tenders. The waiter quickly took it back and said the tenders would be out shortly and apologized. The three of us ate and my lil boy still didn't get his food until we had paid for our meal. Waiter never brought the condiments I asked for either for my fish n chips. Tenders should not take 30 to 40 minutes to come out I'm sorry not like it was a full house. Waiter was not rude just very forgetful and not very good at his job I'm sorry to say that. Not what I was hoping for on my day off and a rare outing with my family during these times. Also asked to speak to the Manager and they said sure no problem we will have him come talk to you, guess what, Manager never came over to see us. Awesome customer service guys! read more

My husband is a big Applebee's fan...... I'm not normally one but tonight we went to the Applebee's in Kyle Texas and had a great experience! It was just after 10 so we ordered a bunch of half price apps and the food was really good. The best part of our experience though was Kayla. She is a great bartender. This was our first time here and it will definitely be our last! We decided to try something different besides the usual Logan's or chili's and didn't feel like driving somewhere in Austin, but really regretting our decision now. This was the worst restaurant experience I've ever had anywhere!! We got there and our server was already in a bad mood, she takes our order and completely forgets to get our drinks the hostess autumn had to get us drinks, she was great btw, she was working hard, bussing tables seating tables helping get us waters ect. Our server was always no where to be found and all her tables in her section were obviously just as mad as we were with the poor service. We sat down at 7:40 the food didn't get delivered until 9:15!!!! How does that even happen!? then when it does finally come out the Cajun steak I ordered medium rare came out well done, not a sight of pink anywhere! I knew not to dare send it back or it would be another hour to 2 hour wait so I tried to just eat it anyways but couldn't stand to get through even half of it, my fiancé's chicken came out cold and rubbery and we also ordered a beer that never came, all this and $40 tab later amounted to the WORST dinner experience we've ever had and a totally wasted night. How is this place even still in business with 30 min fountain drink times and an hour and a half cook times for a table of two on a Thursday night! It wasn't even busy there were open tables everywhere! I will never be back and will definitely be telling everyone to stay far far away from this location, so disappointed it really ruined our night out & put us both in an awful mood, hands down worst restaurant experience ever!!! read more

I have never been so confused or embarrassed in all my life. Applebee's has 1/2 price appetizers starting at 10pm. We had 2 couples and 3 kids we meet us at the Kyle, TX location. We were running a little late arriving at 10pm, while our party arrived at 9:30pm, ordered drinks and proceeded to wait on us, but ordered an appetizer for the kids to share. Once we were seated, we ordered drinks. Upon delivering our drinks, we ordered multiple appetizers and even told the waitress we intended to order only appetizers. One person in our party ordered another beer, and the waitress explained that she would not bring him another beer until he ordered food. We all just ordered appetizers. ???? His spouse ordered the appetizers for them. Once the appetizers were delivered, the waitress brought his 3rd beer. At this point, he had been there 1 1/2 hours. He was not slamming beers or intoxicated in any way. Several of us ordered additional refills on our drinks and 3 of us ordered a small meal. Our friend's beer was getting warm, so his wife, who just had a fresh beer delivered poured half of hers into his. When the waitress checked on us next, they ordered another beer. The waitress told us the bartender would not serve our table anymore alcoholic beverages. (My husband and I had 1 drink. The other couple was expecting any day, so her husband only had 2 drinks. The third couple was only drinking beer and they each had 3.) The reason for this decision was because our friend did not order food only appetizers and had not eaten enough in their opinion. He told them he had eaten at Taco Bell prior to arriving and didn't want any more food. The waitress explained that she could not verify that. While we might have been able to accept that, her explanation for refusing to serve anyone else at the table was because his wife shared her beer with him. ????? We asked for our checks. Then a manager shows up and wants to know what the problem is. Apparently, the waitress told him we asked to speak with a manager, which we didn't. He gave a different account of events. The bartender did not refuse to serve us, the waitress did....because he/we hadn't eaten enough??????? If anyone in our party displayed signs of intoxication or disrupting others, I could understand, but nothing out of the ordinary happened.????We paid our bill and told them we would not be back. I don't think they cared and were happy to have us leave. This whole situation made no sense. I am extremely perplexed, embarrassed, and shocked that this even happened. I keep waiting for someone to tell me it was a joke and we just got "Punked." read more

We were just in there and at first we walked in girl was cleaning tables and came up to us said for two and looked on the right side of fir tables. I'm assuming girl taking care of those tables told her she was about to leave. So the other girl who was cleaning moved us and while moving us asked if we wanted a booth... before we could answer she said ok there's a booth table bar and took us there. We were like ok cool not bad bc near the bar. We sat there for twenty mins. No one came up to us or even greeted us. There were two different waitresses who passed us... not one looked our way or say I'll be right w you. Behind the bar three different people looked at us and not one told any of the waitresses about us. The first ten mins I noticed a couple who sat after us we greeted and given menus. They even got their drinks. My boyfriend said was ready to get up and leave so we did. Customer at the bar noticed us not being serviced and watched us walk out. Horrible!!! I visited this Applebee's again to give them another shot. I sat at the bar and ate wings and had a beer. The wings were floating in the wing sauce so they were a little difficult to eat. The bar was also understaffed. 1 bartender was trying to serve way too many people and others around the restaurant were standing around. I ate there tonight about 10:30 pm. PRO: I had the ribs and they were very good. Not dry and not all fatty. The BBQ sauce was good. Salads needed to be cut up more as they had big pieces in plate. No one spoke to us at the front door as we entered or thanked us as we left the place. They had a new thing you me "TED". You can pay at the table and summons the server on TED without yelling or waving. Very neat. You can add a tip easily. You can even email a copy of bill to yourself. No waiting for anyone. The Manager John is running a good place there. He comes around to the tables to see how things are going and asks you how is everything going. My server was excellent she checked back with me frequently to see if I needed anything. Offered refills and our order was taken and delivered promptly and correct-- just like we ordered. We did not wait to be seated. Our server was so friendly sweet and nice. She offered to show us specials in the menu CON: the floor next to us was dirty and needed sweeping. read more
