I just wanna start off by saying that this was an extreme disappointment. The food was not good. It came out room temperature leading to my mozzarella sticks, being stale cold and not stringy on top of lukewarm food, the servers and hostess at the front we're not polite nor welcoming. The overall vibes of this establishment are off, and I do not recommend visit visiting. I just wanted to come here for some nostalgia and I did not receive that at all because the bar was full of cranky old weird dudes that were yelling and there was lots of strange fellows at the front of the area trying to greet us, but I did not want to be treated like that. I just wanna be left alone. All in all Applebee's gets a two star only because it reminds me of when I was a kid, but based on the overall experience at this specific location, I rate it one star. I forgot to mention that the pretzels were absolutely covered in salt. It was so disgusting picture attached shows just how much salt was on my pretzels, I understand now why Hayes county is in a water drought it's because Applebee's is adding salt to everything. On June 10,2026,I purchased food for a takeout. Server Danika D didn't give me the drink I purchased along with the food. Though I asked her twice to bring me my drink, she simply refused and pretended to not hear. Though the total amount was $36.25 for food and drink I ordered, I paid $40 ( $4 for a tip for a takeout order). What is the reason that Danika didn't want to give me my drink along with the food? After waiting for 10 minutes she f gave me my drink. Looked like I have to leave the restaurant only with food and no drink, though food and drink was ordered at the same time by phone. You have an issue with your DoorDash ordering system. I'm a general manager of a restaurant. I like to treat myself by ordering a steak. This week I ordered one of your bourbon street steaks. If you click on one of the side items you get options. I clicked on the garlic, mashed potatoes to see the options. It was extra garlic, mashed potatoes or no garlic mashed potatoes. When I went back after seeing the options, the little black checkmark could not be removed. I didn't select any of the options. Moving forward, I added for three dollars steamed broccoli another item I love from your restaurant. For $4.86 I added shrimp topper. The store was running behind 15 minutes so I tipped my Dasher two extra dollars. I ended up spending $35 for the meal. I enjoyed what I got. But because I made no choice after clicking on the garlic mashed potatoes side, I didn't receive the garlic mashed potato side. Looking at the ticket I don't see anything about the garlic mashed potatoes. I called the store because I wanted somebody to know about it. This is something you might want to fix with DoorDash. Don't want to mess with your review numbers want you to know about an issue. Great food, bad third-party performance. You can't remove a site item inquiry. You have to choose nothing or extra. Not a good learning experience.. I want my damn garlic mashed potatoes. read more

I stood for over twenty minutes waiting for a table. I was the only one waiting for a server and no one came. There were two servers who stood in front of me at the service desk for around a minute talking to each other before walking to the back, still talking. I left. Will not be coming again. read more

the expensive bourbon steak was lower quality than Dennys or IHOP. I also asked for medium and received medium rare and there was a lot of grease. There are no sides besides two scoops of potatoes with the bourbon steak meal, onions and mushrooms, not even a scoop of vegetables or bread. Had to ask to give me my order since I was left just sitting there. Had to ask for steak sauce. Had to ask for coffee refills and the refill was cold. My wife and I took the short drive from Buda down to Kyle for dinner at Applebee's, which we enjoy every few months. We both ordered riblets, and she opened with some French onion soup, while I just waited for my entrée. Food was good as usual, but the service was the worst we have had in any restaurant in years. We never before saw a waitress bring a bowl of hot soup and not make sure there was a spoon around. When she was asked to retrieve one, she stopped at a few other tables to tend to them, then forgot us. While the soup cooled and our server was chatting with other diners, my wife tracked down another waitress to get a spoon. Meanwhile, she smartly used a fork to dive into the gooey cheese. I should note that the $6 bowl of soup was only filled halfway, which is a chintzy way to treat customers. Our waitress also screwed up our orders, neglecting to tell the kitchen that Karen ordered the smaller portion of riblets. When the bill came and I pointed out the error, 10 minutes passed before she sent the manager to deal with us. He fixed the problem. I neglected to mention the meager serving of soup. I write restaurant reviews on a private Facebook group for a new and growing, large development outside Buda. I will not be recommending this place. read more

My wife and I went reluctantly to Applebees this afternoon, we use to go regularly but it seemed recently food and more importantly service had gone down hill, much to our surprise we were greeted and seated immediately! Today Devin made it our "neighborhood Applebees " again. So much better than our last visit and service OUTSTANDING! Worst service from a "server" named Danika , paying too much attention to the store managers kid and not her tables. Kids were running around in the kitchen & staff was touching the children then running food. Definitely not up to OSHA standards. Absolutely disgusting. We had a date night tonight! Our service was Bryce and was very nice! There are very short staff, so we waited about 30 minutes for just the two of us. They have a lot of open booths and a few waiters, so be patient and kind. We were in the mood for pasta and loved their chicken pasta! I really enjoyed my three cheese pasta. Very flavorful and delicious! My Caesar salad had too much dressing. It made it hard to finish, I would recommended asking for the dressing on the side. Worst teriyaki chicken I've ever had!! The chicken didn't ever have a teriyaki sauce on it. It only had a teriyaki dry rub. Which made it very dry indeed. The only thing I finished was the whipped potatoes. They were pretty good. I spent $27.00 for potatoes. I will never do that again. Thanks for nothing Applebee's. read more

Typical restaurant water. Yuck. I can't have caffeine for dinner because it disrupts my sleep so water it is. Food was ok, not exceptional, but expected at this level of restaurant. The following isn't Applebees fault- I think I'm getting too old to be around "normal working class families with kids". Not judging or being mean, but loud obnoxious, out of control kids, with both parents working, and too tired to raise their kids properly is really getting old. Having your kid watching loud videos at a restaurant table is NOT OK, screaming kids over the top of booth barriers IS NOT OK!! We are going to stay home more. read more

We have eaten at the Applebee's in Kyle numerous times. We went yesterday to celebrate my husband's birthday. To start with, the waitress looked scared that we were a party of 12. I guess she wasn't used to servicing a larger party. So, when the rest of our party arrived we got our drinks. Btw don't get the ice tea/sweet tea....terrible taste like they used a coffee pot then made tea in the same pot or let it sit too long (old tea). We were enjoying our company talking when a worker brought in a table top 1 table away and started drilling noisily to fit the leg on it and put it up. First of all, the place WAS NOT busy at all so this could have been done in the back or after hours or ANY other time instead of making a loud racket just 1 table away from us. We couldn't enjoy our company. My son said something to them and they stopped for about 5 min but then came back and finished it. Very loud and if we hadn't had a large party we would have gotten up and left right then. There was a couple sitting right across from where the noise was going on that left and had to speak to a manager to not pay for their drinks. A party of 4 also left because they couldn't get service. Then, when our food was finally brought out, 2 steaks were over-cooked, 1 burger was under-cooked and the chicken on the chicken alfredo was rubbery. Nobody sent food back because by the time we got it they were hungry and didn't want to wait even longer. The service was VERY slow and didn't check on us often at all which is just good customer service. Plus, we kept having to repeat things we had already asked for. And, let me repeat they WERE NOT busy at all. This was definitely the worst experience we have had at this Applebee's and we will NOT be returning!! read more

Local Kyle Applebee's new management please consider deeming the lights just a tab. One it makes for an uncomfortable ambiance and two customers who suffer from light sensitivity make it for an uncomfortable dining experience. Terrible food quality. Terrible. Cold coffee. No coffee creamer. According to the waitress, they haven't had any creamer in the 4 months she's been there. But she never even offered sugar or cream; we had to scavenge a nearby box for sugar and ask for the cream - of which they have none. She brought 1% kids' milks instead. ‍ The food was horrible. The Mac and cheese with chicken tenders on top was penne pasta in Alfredo sauce and the chicken was dry and hard to eat. Terrible. The Bourbon Street Chicken and Shrimp was flat, dried-out chicken with a weird garlic sauce (WAY too much minced garlic) - NOT a bourbon sauce. The waitress was nice (she's only been there for four months) with a tinge of jaded and frantic energy from being so short-staffed. And while she was running all over the place, a manager (guy with a dress shirt half-tucked-in was standing in the doorway to the kitchen with his hands in his pockets. Smug and clueless. Applebees is a place I grew up with, but it has strayed way off the path as a reliable, decent place to get food you know and trust. It's crap. We just bought a house nearby, so we were hoping it was gonna be one of our new go-to places. Sad. read more

I wanted a nice dinner with my sweet preteen grandson and it started off great. The smell in this place was a home run. My grandson liked the paintings. After i sat down i felt something under our table. GUM!!!!! I was disgusted. I washed my hands and then got to look at the menu...i ordered a noodle plate but got a burger platter instead. I didn't want to complain. My grandson ordered the cheese sticks, and to my surprise there was barely any cheese!!!! (He has braces and a great smile, he will be very successful one day) so i want to set him up with great meals and atmospheres. I rolled my eyes and left. If my husband was alive he would be absolutely angry. Giving 2 stars because the staff was nice, they just have a lot of tattoos which i don't prefer. I don't want my grandson getting one. Arrived and was seated right away. We then waited over 15 minutes before asking the waiter on the table next to us if she could help us. Ordered food and drinks right away. Had to wait a while again but thankfully everything was tasty. There was another family which went through the same. Unfortunately they walked out without even being noticed. Whether or not it was busy, 50 minutes to get two burgers is a bit long. Once our order was taken, it took ten to fifteen to get my salad and another five to seven to get silverware. Then another five to get the drinks. I'm not kidding. I ordered a burger with no lettuce or tomato, pink (you get two choices - pink or no pink). I got lettuce and tomatoes but no onions, and a well done burger. Good thing I had lettuce because the other burger had literally an inch square of lettuce. And how do you mess up fries? Ugh. The kitchen bombed everything. I would have asked for mustard for my burger but didn't see the server much. Or well...any actually. There was trash all over the floor and dozens of crayons strewn around. It was pretty foul. So despite the lack of choices in a Kyle, this is definitely off the list. read more

I used to love the steak at Applebee's, so when my granddaughter chose the Applebee's in Kyle for dinner, I was looking forward to a good steak. I ordered a medium rare and it came well done. I brought this to my server's attention and she apologized and took it back and they made me another one. This one was medium rare but it was still not a good steak; it was tough, it was dry, and it was flavorless. Both of us had the raspberry lemonade, which was also something I used to like here, but this time it tasted watered down and neither one of us finished our drinks. Then asked for add on salad which never came before food delivery then had to ask for it and the server copped an attitude rolled eyes when I told her I don't want it! Then she asked me what I wanted her to do with it. Never saw a manager and when we asked for one took 10 minutes and had to ask again to see one. Food was great and that's the only reason I gave a 2 star, should be a 1 star. Had to drive down south for my daughters HS Soccer playoff game so there wasn't a large selection of choices. I started with the Long Island "daily special", let me tell you it was special alright, WAY too sweet and most defiantly not a real Long Island so i had my wife drink it since she like the sugary stuff. I had for the meal the Napa portobello chicken which wasn't too bad nothing to write home about but it still was satisfying enough. My wife had the BLT, which again wasn't earth shattering but was atleast faily good portion. Bottom line is this is a typical Applebees, and that's not a bad thing it just means you will pretty much get the same food quality and value at all the Applebee's. So if you are like me and not sure where to eat its always a safe bet on getting something you KNOW will be editable. read more
