So I made an appointment to get the battery changed and even put a note on the appointment that I needed a new battery and I show up the technician spends less than a minute telling what I already know and tells me it will be 45 minutes. For real? It is changing a battery not open heart surgery. I come back 45 minutes and have to wait another 15. The apple store workers are just standing around talking about the World Cup not giving a shit about the customers. I get the phone back and the new battery isn't even fully charged. WTF! Nobody bothered to ask me if I was satisfied with my experience. Horrible customer service and 85$ for a new battery. read more

I went to the apple store locate at Tysons Corner, trying they fix the problem I have with the Battery. http://www.thv11.com/story/news/2014/08/25/iphone-5-battery-recall/14572207/ They run a test saying there is no problem. The manager Regis Matiyasic show up saying they cannot do nothing relating for the recall and my phone is Ok. Even though the serial number of my phone is in the recall program and he ignore me and he left me stand up talking and walking away ignoring me acting as a child. The manager Regis Matiyasic treated me in the worst way as a customer. Manager Regis Matiyasic denied to give in writing what exactly happened. A few moments later in front of him my battery went down and I told him to see himself that from 40% battery left my phone was complete off and he took my phone and saw the round circle when the battery is getting off and the dumb answers from the Manager Regis Matiyasic was " I did not see you battery was 45% before" he denied in my face he did not see the % of the battery before and He said then because I did not update to latest IOS that happen. Again he told me in my face that I was lying. The way the manager Regis Matiyasic treated me was the worst experience I have in my life, his lack of professionalism show that educations or universities does not make a person , being educate is not his background. He was very rude and his employees were witness how he treated me and they did not do nothing. The way he talk to me, I am not sure it came from himself or Regis Matiyasic was trained by his apple company in order to save some money from a customer. I hope someone from his company is reading this because is hard to believe how someone like The Manager Regis Matiyasic can work and treat a customer as an ignorant person and continues throwing away the millions apple spend in marketing. read more

Why make appt if they keep you waiting and waiting. Understaffed and not very friendly. Fair oaks store is way better. Go somewhere else!

Apple stores have always been terrible but this one is the worst. After making an appointment and arriving on time, I waited for over 20 mins to be helped. After explaining that I wanted to get my iPhone 5 screen repaired, they told me that they could do it for $149, but I would have to pay full price for a replacement phone if something were to go wrong. Not sure why such a thing would be at my expense so after asking them about it, the rep explained "thats just the way it is". I accepted and told them that I'll risk it but if something happens I have a right to take them to court. because i mentioned that I would take them to court, she went to the back and explained that they've decided not to move forward with the service. Very unfair and slightly biased to deny me service just for voicing my rights. Beware when dealing with Apple... read more

I came in this morning and there were almost no customers. I came up to an employee standing alone and asked a question. He told me he couldn't leave where he was standing and help me. I came up to another employee who is standing around alone and asked him the same question. He said he couldn't move and told me to look for the product myself on one of the computers. Dear Manager, why do you have so many employees if they can't move or help customers. read more

I came to this location because one of their employees, whom I met in a car repair shop, told me that they give the best customer service. I must say I was very disappointed. To make the story short they have hundreds of useless employees hanging out in the store doing nothing and a failed scheduling system. My daughter and I went there for for two different issues. My Macbookair (BAD PRODUCT) and my daughter's Iphone. They scheduled us to come back as soon as we receive their text. sure enough we got the text and went back to the store. They took care of my macbook issue. Unfortunately, they made us wait for 40 minutes for my daughter's iphone. When I complained to their so called Manager named NANCE she boldly told me that she needs to educate me about their great scheduling system. Very rude and I admit I was never going to go back to that store again. Luckily, a senior manage named Dan read my apple review and called me today to apologize, inviting us to go back to their store. Dan, I can only give you a two star rating because of your phone call. Your employee did a big damage because she has no people's skills and trusts a failed scheduling system. She made it worse by telling me that she needs to "educate me". Bad choice of words. I read several reviews about your sore and I might consider on coming back just because of your phone call but a two star is way too generous for the treatment I received. read more

After a lengthy wait, I experienced horrible customer service at this location. I implore you to visit ANY other Apple location!!!

Ok I didn't want to do this but they gave me no choice. Apple Genius Bar People have no knowledge anymore and they don't want to help customers solve the problem. They just want to get rid of you as soon as possible or send you to sell person to get a new phone. My husband had a problem with his phone, acting funny like he had a virus. So we scheduled app no problem. This guy came to us run quick test on his phone and he said "well one of your app crashed you have to rest your phone and walked away" . My husband stopped him and tried to get more information like which app and how can we make sure doesn't come back and all the questions we had.. and the guy didn't care just told us to reset or get a new phone which doesn't make any sense and he walked away from us again!!! Very POOR and RUDE customer service!!!!! read more

I don't think they even deserve 1 star . Rudest customer service . I went to replace my display and they charged me $137.00 the next day it got cracked out of nowhere . I asked the manager to replace it and he literally ignored me . Worst people ever . read more

Manager Steven Katrivanos couldnt manage a lemonade stand let alone a store in one of the busiest malls this side of town. I like the apple products but the whole idea of hiring community college drop outs and labeling them geniuses is a bit of a stretch if you ask me, and the funny thing is some of these kids actually buy into the hype. Anyway here is why I gave the one star: walked into the apple store today after I purchased a defective iPhone from AT&T 2 days earlier and having them tell me that apple handles all returns now. So anyway I explained to a " genius" that I purchased my phone 2 days ago and it has a defective Bluetooth. He tells me that since I purchased from AT&T that he couldn't do anything for me. After going back and forth he goes in the back room and comes back with another pudgy "genius" wearing pants that my 1 yr old nephew would have a tough time getting into. After some more back and forth I'm told that I need to make an appointment with a "genius" as I begin to think that I just might meet the likes of Albert Einstein, or Nikola Tesla I was brought back to reality when it was just another dweeb with a blue shirt telling me that my phone is just fine, even though the Bluetooth audio stutters more than Woody Wood Pecker. After more back and forth and the trio of "geniuses" still working in the mall well into their 20's realizing that I'm not going to take their efforts to push me aside, the pudgy "genius" asks me "what kind of car do you have" " ohh Infiniti, yeah IPhone has all kinds of problems with BMW and Infiniti" at this point I'm pretty much done with dumb and dumber and dumbest so I asked for the manager. Steve comes out and at least tries to appear professional by having grown up conversation, something the others clearly haven't mastered yet. But it baffled me when he stood by the statement of Pudgy smurf claiming that the problem was my 2011 Infiniti and any IPhone wouldn't work but nevertheless offered to give me a refurbished phone in exchange. So a brand new 2 day old iPhone in exchange for a refurbished phone, I refused and demanded another new phone and not a refurb while he continued to explain that every IPhone 4 has this issue with my kind of vehicle until I had a genius moment of my own and figured I'de call my good friend that has the same phone and an Infiniti to clear up the mess and what do you know, his phone and Bluetooth work just fine but still Steve refused to give me an exchange and the grown up talk quickly vanished as he began turning flush red. To make a long story end I ended up going back to AT&T and after speaking to a real manager wearing a collar shirt and a neck tie I got a new phone and my bluetooth works like a charm. Like I said I like Apple products but the Apple Store is a nightmare experience and you would prolly get better service in the cafeteria at Guantanamo read more

Pity that no one answers the phone. Actually have to get in car and drive to store to talk with someone - a managment decision on staffing.

I've been coming here since 2001, and have never had a bad experience. Didn't give it five stars because the store often gets crowded and the attention isn't as focused and personalized as it can be at the Clarendon location, which isn't as busy. Having said that, the staff is always extremely helpful, knowledgeable and does their best. I miss the classroom/theater they had in the back half of the store a few years ago. read more

Very bad experience. They me I need to talk to one of their " genius 's" and it would be 15 mins. Just text me when they are ready because 15 mins can turn into 30 mins. They text me 25 mins later I go back to the store and they want me to sit a desk with a bunch of other people to wait. I ask them how much longer I have to wait 10-15 mins. Great customer service. No more Apple products. read more

Every single Apple store I've been to is so loud and chaotic you can't hear the associate talk you can't even hear yourself talk. Hilariously these people tout themselves as having "outstanding" customer service. J-O-K-E-C-I-T-Y. The only reason I am giving you one star is because I am not allowed to give you any lower, which should be zero stars! read more

I dread coming to this store. The lines are always long and you never feel as though someone is truly listening to the problems your phone is having. My experience here has never been pleasant. I always feel rushed and misunderstood. The staff might be overwhelmed by the amount of people in the store on a daily basis. Even when making an appointment for the Genius Bar, I've still waited about 20 minutes after my initial appointment to be seen. There are hardly ever chairs to sit on as you wait to be seen. Also, their system for checking in is right in the middle of the walkway, I complete do not understand who thought this was a good idea to have a line of people in the middle of a store? The line in the middle of the store in addition people waiting by the numbers to be seen equals complete chaos. I would suggest making an appointment the very first thing in the morning, to avoid snobby attitudes and the chaotic amount of people. read more

I brought in my iPhone shortly after the most recent major iOS upgrade as I was having major issues with the battery performance. After waiting forever with my appointment, the technician who addressed my issue wound up messing up my phone in terms of my email folders and I lost ALL of my email folders! Went to ask for options about fixing a cracked Ipad screen, was told there were no appointments, I can see a ton of employees I guess 99% of them are useless. Came back the next day on my appointment, he just basically tells me a number that almost matches with buying a new ipad. Two days to tell me there is no option from them apart from basically buying the ipad again, I dont understand why I needed to make an appointment for this bsht. Both Gerard (not sure of spelling here) and Sierra helped me select a phone and benefits. I spent the whole afternoon between and Apple and the Verizon store across the aisle. They were both very patient and understanding and even waited for me for about 5 minutes while I checked on some account info that they needed. Gerard was extremely knowledgeable and helpful, he had to break for lunch eventually, but he made sure I was taken care of by Sierra. Sierra was lots of fun and super smiley. Both of them know how to talk to their customers and are. Sry patient and well trained, informed...I felt badly I couldn't buy the phone through Apple and had to buy it through Verizon, they were professional about that. In the end, Gerard had me sit at the set up table, where he helped me and literally 5 others, very impressive, the way he circled around and checked in and addressed every single one of us. 5 stars all the way for Apple but most of all these two awesome agents‼ read more

Brought in my new Macbook and my old laptop for transfer of data. Sent someone to pick up the computers for me and the charger for my last computer was left behind. Called them immediately to let them know it may be a few days but to put my name on it and I'd come pick it up. They agreed. Again I sent someone in to pick it up and they told him it was nowhere to be found. Spent 30 minutes waiting on the phone while they looked again only to be told they purge their lost and found and that it's gone - even with my name and number on it. Asked them why I wasn't contacted and got a BS excuse about how they used to call customers to return the things in lost and found and they customers yell at them...would not reimburse me for the loss or give me store credit. Nice way to run a business... read more

We took our MacAir to the Tysons Apple Store for repair. All the people we encountered were knowledgeable, professional, patient and helpful explaining the issue and solution in layman's lingo. We received our now repaired laptop in less than 1/2 the projected time. Along the way we were educated on the value of having an external backup vice using the Cloud and Apple Pay. Really cannot say enough good things about our experience and the results. While we all hope never to need a repair person for anything, I would highly recommend this store and the people working there. For us this is as good as it gets. read more

Any place that allows me to ask a million dumb questions without pressuring me to buy anything gets 5 stars from me. I got my iphone and macbook here. I'm stingy and get scared when making a big decision i don't know too much about. I don't know anything about computers at all and I never felt like they thought I was stupid. I spent probably 45 minutes with a guy and didn't buy my computer right away but came back a little while later and another salesman went over everything really quick again to make 100% sure I was gonna be happy when I left. I think a lot of people get frustrated with the genius stuff and classes and signing in to get in line to be helped but come on... JUST ASK SOMEONE... like that greeter at the door.. they'll explain it all to you. If I can get it anyone can. read more

I'm aware this was a big launch night for the IPAD 2... However, my wife and I were at the mall and walked up to the door of the store and were blocked from entering by a security guard. Sure there were more than 50 people in line for the new IPAD, but we weren't there to buy an IPAD. I stated that we were there to browse, and we were directed to a SEPARATE line. I've been to many launch events, none operated like this. Hint to management, don't treat potential customers like second class citizens. It could've been due to fire code, but I've been in on Saturdays and there were less people being "allowed" into the store than a typical weekend day. Close the door, put a sign up...anything other than having a large guard block an otherwise open door (and store) with his body and state "what are you doing?". I didn't state what we were doing, but we did turn and leave. read more

While I enjoy all of my iPhones, Macs, iPads, ALL of my Apple products, I must say this. The service department of Apple is not customer friendly at all. When I called to make an appointment to get my iPhone screen fixed at the closest Apple store (which is 40 minutes away and I live in the Washington DC suburbs) I could not get an appointment for four days. While that may not be SO long, It is long when One needs their computer for their job! And their cell phone as their ONLY phone. I called the phone number for my "local" Apple store and was put through to an automated system. THAT part was actually not that bad. Then the system put me through to a person after a projected five minute wait. I asked the person on the phone for an appointment the next day but he said that they did not have any appointments for the next four days!. "Cant I just walk into the store?" I said. He said, "Yes but you will have to wait until their is an opening and could give me NO IDEA if that meant two hours, four hours, six hours etc. Here's the thing. If I wanted to walk into the store to BUY an computer, phone or iPad, you can be darn sure they would make time! I have not only bought numerous MacBooks, iPads and iPhones (I have five kids) but I also bought the insurance on all of my Apple products so I am paying for the service. However, like I said, It is NOT customer friendly. Everything revolves around what works for Apple, not the customer. The last time I had a problem with my computer (they really just needed to explain some things to me. I also bought the teaching package) the girl who was helping me said there was no way to transfer my contacts from my phone to my mac without doing it ONE BY ONE?????? REALLY????? I AM 54 years old, but I am not THAT stupid. She literally tried to tell my husband and I that this is what we must do. I said to my husband, She is wrong. I don't know why she would say that (other than trying to get rid of us) so we started to ask another service agent and of course, it only took him about three minutes to do what it is that he had to do on my computer and then the contacts were transferred! What the heck? In addition to the above, many of their techs (because they ARE techy!) go way to fast explaining the operating system for the regular person who is new to Apple products. phone, computer, whatever. I find that during the time they are teaching they OFTEN walk away and then return. THIS happened SEVERAL times that last time I was there. I looked to see where my representative was and he was helping someone else. My husband and I had to wait until THEY were done. Then that guy had to wait until WE were done. Back and forth over and over. Another time there was a young, man maybe in his late 20's, that was helping me to understand some info on my Macbook. He continued to place his hand on my shoulder and every time he would make a joke or I would understand a new concept, he would HIT me on my arm!! REALLY? Don't think I know you well enough for you to be hitting me. THAT happened at LEAST ten times. I understand that this was just this guys way of being friendly, but it simply was not appropriate. So there ya go. read more

I want to give high praise to Gina, a Genius Bar techie, that not once, but TWICE, helped me resolve problems with my laptop. She was extremely knowledgeable and professional. The first time, my computer would not go to the Start-up screen, and it turned out it was a problem with the hard drive. She somehow was able to backup my data, then re-install the OS. After that, it worked great. Then about two months later, my laptop would not even turn on, and she diagnosed the problem as battery related, and it was a simple fix - done in 5 minutes. I wish my experiences with other "techies" were so satisfactory. read more

I visited this Apple store last Saturday to purchase ipad air 2. I went in past 7pm and it was packed and busy. I asked one of the associates to let me know some cool things I can do with ipad air 2. He explained it briefly what it can do, syncing etc. I said I will buy the gold one and he said he will get it from the back. A different associate came to me and ringed up the total and I made the payment. He spoke fast and made it so quick. I wanted to check out some case for it and maybe pay altogether, but couldn't ask because he was so fast doing his job I guess. So after I got my ipad, I went to the case section and chose an ipad air case. Notice that it is ipad air case, not ipad air 2. I asked to make sure that it will fit. Apparently he was in training, so I am fine with the mishap. I went home and of course, the case didn't fit. The next day I had to go to the mall first thing in the morning (in the icy rain..roads were terrible) and exchange the case. A young lady helped me out. She was so fast too. I am a fast paced person, but this apple store associates wants to get the job DONE. So quick, which is good for some people I guess. I submitted an online survey and the manager called me to discuss about the experience. I shared my experience and thoughts in a nice and professional manner and thanked her for reaching out. I am not a technology person, so I don't visit Apple too much, so I don't mind their way of service. If I have to pay a visit to this place again I know what to expect now - I just have to speak faster, ask faster, and walk in and out quickly. read more

This is a review for the "Genius" Bar. I took my MacBook Air here because after two years, it's only holding a 2 hour charge. I called Apple and they told me that sounded abnormal, and gave me a case number to bring to an Apple Store. I made an appointment, went to the store for them to run diagnostics. The Genius runs the diagnostic and tells me the battery is behaving normally. I ask him how it could be normal when my battery is obviously working at less than 30% capacity, and he can see right in front of him that it's at that capacity with nothing but Safari and Dropbox running. He tells me Dropbox is using a lot of resources, and also things have changed a lot since I bought the MBA because there's been "a lot of java updates." Seriously? A laptop that costs well over a grand can't handle java updates and Dropbox? I ask him to clarify whether he's saying this is how MBAs are supposed to work, or whether there is just something wrong with my specific machine. He says "this is just how they are," tells me to have a good day, and walks off. read more
