Came here all excited to pick up my new iphone6 today, as I've been counting down the days till I was eligible for upgrade. When I arrived to the store after parking in the garage and walking through the mall, only to walk in and feel like is stepped over the border into a foreign land. Nobody greeted me or approached me although there seemed to be lots of employees all around. I wander the store for a bit looking for someone to help me or give me a clue as to where in the world I was to go in order to receive help. Finally as I waited to talk to an employee awkwardly standing around, I found out that all the phones were sold out! I understand that it is a popular product so that isn't what upsets me. It's the fact that good customer service is shown by greeting someone and helping them figure out how their store/system works. I could have saved 20-30 minutes of my life is someone had just shown some good customer service and approached me or gave me some direction. read more

I was here yesterday plan on getting a Apply Watch. It was my first time getting a Apply Watch from Apply. The associate named Miguel, he was awesome. He helped me out so much on giving me the details about the watch that I wanted it. If it was not for him, I would never come back to get the Watch. I came back to get the Watch but did not knew he was working. Miguel's customer service was awesome to me. We purchased a MacBookPro 13" retina display in April of 2016 at the Tyson's Corner store in Virginia. When it reached me a few days later in Paris, France (my family brought it on a their trip here) I checked the specs and realized that this was an early-2015 generation. There's two generations since then. When I called to ask to exchange this with a more recent build here in Paris, France, I was told, curtly, that the "about" specs "doesn't mean anything." Then she proceeded to transfer me to Apple care without trying to figure out a solution together. And yet, this product was purchased at her store. The store employee of the Tyson's Corner, Virginia store lied to me by saying "it doesn't mean anything." Of course it means something. There's a new processor type installed in the units since the early 2015 generation. By the time I'll be done making the payments on it, there will be three new generations of this product. The employees at the Tyson's Corner, Virginia Apple store are more preoccupied with getting rid of old stock than with selling product that meet the customer's expectations. If you go to purchase a 2016 Escalade, what would you say if you got an early 2015 make, even though it's brand-new, never been used? this review is for my genius bar service only. Overall customer service is great, however if you need to get something fixed be careful. Even courteous staff can be incompetent or try to make unnecessary repairs. two staff members diagnosed my problem to be a crooked port that would not attach to the plug/charger (sorry I don't know tech lingo well). They took my laptop to replace the port for $50. No one called me the next day so I called them when I'm told that they didn't replace my port because they found liquid inside the computer. Their policy is to ship the laptop away for further diagnostics where auto replacements will occur at $350. Or if more things need to be replaced it could be $750. So...my response is basically, nothing is wrong with my computer other than I can't charge it and shouldn't it be left up to me whether I spend the money to replace a port and take the risk that the computer still doesn't work? It's my money and whether there is a liquid problem or not, the port doesn't work either. Conclusion: they backed off and fixed the port. Didn't have to replace it, just straightened it out and i was charged zero dollars. I'm typing on this very computer right now so obviously the so called liquid isn't an issue. I avoided a huge inconvenience and bill by not taking their advice. I'm still not happy about waiting 2 days for a repair they neglected to do or to even call me to discuss. read more

Don't go here. There are better Apple Stores out there. I had to go with my sister because she needed some accessary. After walking to the back of the store, weaving in and out of sales associates just standing around talking, we had some questions. No one was around to answer them. Finally we made the decision on our own and she was all ready to pay and again, no one was around. It was busy so some associates were helping customers. That is no problem. The associates that weren't helping anyone were just standing around talking to their friends/other associates. After way too long looking around for help, we put the product down and walked out. The customer service was horrible. For a company that claims to be an industry leader, work on those who actually deal with your customers. Just because we weren't buying the new iPhone does not mean that we deserve any less in service. This type of service (or lack thereof) repeatedly happens whenever we go to this store. It's a little upsetting. Also, I miss the check-out counter. It isn't old fashioned, it is helpful! The store in Reston Town Center is great though. I've never had any issues there. read more

I had a 7:00pm appointment and got off work early so I decided to try and see if I could get seen earlier (about two hours earlier) and I did! They were all very nice and helped me right away with my shattered screen. I left my phone with them, came back at 7:00pm, and was out of there shortly after. Great customer service! Also a heads up to people who would rather save, what, $10? To go to some other repair store for their phone displays- don't. It's not worth it! The guy said if I went there, they wouldn't be able to do anything for me and basically voids the warranty. Thankfully Apple was my first choice :) read more

Went in with exactly what I wanted in mind and I had an excellent experience! It was the day the iPhone 8 came out, so naturally there was a line to get in, but I was immediately allowed entry when I explained I just wanted to get a macbook pro. I was put in the queue and moments later was greeted by Emmanuel. He was knowledgeable, efficient and to top it off, charming! The whole experience took about half an hour and he made me feel at ease with my purchase and even gave me recommendations on what I might need in the future over the course of my studies in my graduate program. Yes, five stars. I had 3 people helping me today with a problem I was having and they couldn't have been nicer or more knowledgeable on what to do. I had ordered a MacBook Pro online and it was taking way too long to get to my house. My iPod came but still no computer. I was getting a little nervous because it was looking like I'd be in school long before the computer would be delivered. Additionally, Apple online had screwed up my order and they told me it would take another 3 weeks to fix it. This was not a possibility for me. As a college student, my LIFE is my student ID and my computer so I wasn't having any of this. Anyway, I went to the Apple store in Tysons today and got it all figured out. The manager personally helped me cancel my online order and got on the phone to work some things out with the Apple online people who were being difficult. It was awesome. And, at the end of the day, I left computer in hand, and happy that the crisis of Summer '07 was averted. Instead of buying online, if you live in the area, just do yourself a favor and go to the store. Shipments come in every couple of days after 1pm. So call often if you've got your heart set on a computer as they go so fast. read more

The entire process to get the new iphone 12 pro that was pre order took longer then expected. I was the first one on line and 2 other people that came after me they got their phones before me i had to ask to see how long it would take to get this picked up completed. And i'm waiting for the call from apple care for a charge of airpods repair that were not completed since they can not see the repair orders from in the store even if all my apple products are linked on my apple id. Roy even lied to me telling me that I could not talk to a genius for this issue and i he made a call back appointment at 830 today and my priority was change by him i guess i needed more help with a broken airpods that i do not use since i have my bose shades as speakers and I guess he assumed that i did not wake up early plan my day since 11/6/2020 to come and pick up the Iphone 12 pro max. A genius came out to see if they can help me with the airpods and again I told him I don not have the airpods and I'm waiting for my iphone 12pro max and a phone call for the airpods. No common sense when making choices from the checking host person, again making decision for me the client I guess I should ask Roy what to do tomorrow even if my day is all ready plan he seems to know more about my choices then me. This is the reason why i choose other apple stores or other retailers over the first apple store ever open but customer service is not really understood. Came here because my IPad does not charge fast. Takes 5 days to fully charge it. Anyways, got here around 1230 and they told me to make an appointment since the technician has to run a diagnostics. Good thing they had an available slot for 4pm appointment-same day. I came back around 409. I was a bit late. No biggie... But the technician who run the diagnostics on my iPad did not find anything wrong with my iPad besides it's not charging or recognizing an Apple charger. So I told her I had that problem and I also told her that it will charge using a 3rd party charger but it charges slow. She recommended to replace the tablet for $299. Seriously? Nothing wrong with the darn thing besides slow charging. They can't do anything nor know something so I left. Wasted my time and effort for nothing. read more

Consistently helpful. Whether replacing a hard drive in an iMac, diagnosing a phone's battery life, and last night when my phone repeatedly cycled on and off with an exhausted battery. Dan had Service reception duty when I walked in near closing. He could have said, sorry, no more "walk-ins" would you liked an appointment tomorrow? But, no. He asked if I could take a seat for five minutes and he would personally look at it when his reception station would close. In a few minutes he back and asked if he could take it out of the showroom to a service bench to look at the phone port under a microscope. So I played with iMovie on the MBP at my demo table. 10 minutes later, the phone and Dan were back. The iPhone in great working order. Microscopic inspection revealed a tiny bit of debris in the Lightning port. Great work "Mr. Holmes." read more

This location is busy all the time. I made an appointment to have my iPhone screen repaired and dropped it off. ETA for repair was slightly longer than expected but I walked the mall and kept occupied. When I returned to pick up the phone I was told they couldn't fix the screen because there were refurbished parts inside my phone. I wish they could have let me know on an alternate contact number so I wouldn't have wasted so much time accomplishing nothing. Usually things work really well despite the volume of people so hopefully it was a one time occurrence. read more

I went to drop off my laptop as diagnosed from another store that the motherboard on my MacBook Pro was bad. They were busy and I had not made an appointment to drop off the laptop but when it got to be my turn they insisted on diagnosing it tha elves. When I tried to point them to the notes the other store guy made they told they'd contact me once the motherboard arrived. That was last Wednesday. When I called following Tuesday they had no record of it. I purchased this laptop for work no more than 4 months ago for work and downtime takes a considerable chunk of my earnings! If I cannot depend on my local store I cannot recommend the product much less the store to anyone. read more

I haven't been to the store personally but I have talked with their technicians through phone couple times. I see people saying that the machine answered their call and they literally called 10times yet didn't get an answer. Well, I called them 3time through different hours and days. Each time they picked within a minute and answered all my questions with clarity. One time I talked with a guy named Cambre Leverette and he explained everything very good to me. This technician give me ideas about their products and which one is good for what and also even placed my order online so I could just checkout for my time convenience. They are very helpful and friendly here, and they were able to answer all of my international travel questions as they pertained to my iPhone and MacBook Pro. I went to get an appointment for a broken phone and I made it for the next day because the wait was 5 hours to get help,!!! I returned the next day only to return and get told that I was not booked for an appointment. I found the person who booked me and I told the manager that it was her fault and if they can bump me since the mistake was on their part. She said she wasn't going to fix anything and I would have to wait another two hours. I asked her why she couldn't bump me since I waited a whole day and she told me too bad I would have to wait. The most unprofessional rude unapologetic manager. I Hate Apple because of the absolutely worst customer service. I'm back to Samsung now. Way better. My iPhone recently ran into a technical issue that eventually require their support to fix. Unfortunately, the Apple tech support here don't seem to understand iPhones much more than a slightly savvy enthusiast. It seems that they pretty much default to telling people to full restart their iPhone or replace it when an issue goes beyond pressing buttons. Even when I pressed them to look at the crash logs, they only took a quick glance at it. The whole situation was frustrating and generally a waste a time for both parties. With the sheer number of people that come into the store, employees don't seem to have the time or the desire to adequately give support to those who use the Apple tech support appointment system. In summary, don't use this Apple store for any difficult tech support. read more

Had the pleasure of working with Byron McDowell this afternoon. I had an interesting problem today where I needed the 'Find my iPhone' app turned off the the device wiped so I could return it to Verizon Wireless as I had replaced this device with the same model that was working properly. I thought this would be difficult for them to do, and I even expressed it at the beginning of the appointment, but Byron mentioned that "I can't" is not in his vocabulary. After giving him approval to hard reset the iPhone in question and forcible turn off the Find my iPhone device, he took over and within 15 minutes both my iPhone was reset to factory status and the Find my iPhone app was turned off. Success! Something I had tried to do on my own and researched extensively, took all of 15 minutes with an excellent tech. This is why I love this store and Apple stores in general. Even if you didn't buy the Apple hardware there, they still take care of you and make it look easy, all while explaining the process to you in lay terms. Highly recommend again. Came in on a Saturday afternoon when it was packed. I managed to get someone right away to help with a return. Then he helped my fiancee purchase an ipad. Our sales rep was very knowledgeable and answered all questions. He even told us about a discount we were entitled to because of our company so we managed to get a great price for our order. read more

I recently had to come in because I dropped my iPhone (doh!) causing the screen to completely shatter (cue the 'this is why I can't have nice things...). I'm glad I made an online reservation for the repair because the store, as one would expect at any given time, was extremely busy. My MacBook decided to act up the day before my iPhone repair reservation and while waiting on the phone a tech rep also fixed my Mac. Unfortunately I don't remember the names of the two guys who helped me, but they were outstanding and extremely helpful! Major kudos to the guy who helped me with my Mac; he originally thought it would certainly have to be sent off for repair, but he miraculously fixed it and for free! My iPhone was also fixed, but sadly not for free ;). Even though there are two other locations closer to my home, I prefer this location because it's quite large so there's usually plenty of staff on hand. I love apple products. Always have and always will. I come to this store a lot because I usually always have a good experience. I came here last week because I dropped my phone and shattered the entire screen. Freak accident, it happens. I made an appointment online, came in and was helped right away. I think his name was Cody who helped me. He was really sweet. I didn't give 5 stars because I was a little disappointed that I had to drive back to the store after my transaction didn't go through, this was a first for me. Booked an appointment because my Mac was having issues and they were so helpful and friendly. They explained everything to me and got my laptop fixed. They are very professional. When I got home there was something wrong with my wifi so I decided to call the Apple Store for assistance and they fixed my problem once again! Highly satisfied with the tech crew that they have over there. I recommend going early around noon because it does get busy which is explainable because it's a weekend and it's Tyson's corner. I had all my data lost due the speed of USB 3.0 combined with the ssd memory and an unprompted boot loading disk. I had my screen cracked, paid $400+ for a repair which got me a dull non-glossy screen (the only reason I bought apple over dell is I like a glossy screen), it tore again at the same loose spot. I paid another $400+ and within 3 months the screen went black. I was expecting another hack job, but sebas found it was under warranty and they practically refurbished it. I thought they would just jiggle the cable, but the replace the cable and socket and replaced the glossy screen cover. Great job. read more
