Came in to look for a new computer. Apple has been my go-to electronics store for a minute. They have a wide variety of computers, phones, tablets, ear pods, and more. At the Columbia Mall location it's always crowded and you have to sign in and an associate will call you when it's your turn. The associates were all pleasant and each very knowledgeable about their specific product expertise that they could assist you with. They have samples of most of the items on display that you can try out to find the product that is right for you. I was impressed that they had a workshop going on in store on how to use an electronic pen for iPads and it was free. You can also preorder products that were not available in store for pickup. I have to admit Apple products are NOT cheap, but as far as value, they seem to hold up well and you can purchase additional warranties to ensure you have coverage if anything goes wrong. All in all, a great product store to come explore, to purchase, or come in to troubleshoot any product issues you may have. read more

I came here to purchase the new iPhone 16 Pro Max and this place was super busy. I was told by a Sale Associate to go stand by the iPhone 16 table and someone would be with me shortly. I was saying to myself yeah right being how busy they were. I stood by the table and it was 4 other people being waited on at the table. So to my surprise 10 minutes into my wait a Sale Associate came to assist, her name was Jaden and she was very nice and professional. I just wanted to purchase the phone I didn't need to transfer my data, so the process was quick and easy. I was in and out within 30 minutes. this is my first one star review! so safe to say, this place is awful. the customer service here was poor. workers at this store do not care to help you in a timely manner. my dad and i had picked out what we wanted and had to wait for an hour. we ended up walking out of the store to buy online because the service was so awful. the workers knew we were waiting and did not send anyone to check us out. they were not understaffed at all, we were told there was only one worker available to help us at the apple watch station, but then watched as another worker came over to help the first one. on top of that, the workers were rude. i understand that the holidays can be busy, but my dad and i were extremely patient and were met with condescending tones. i will not be coming to this apple store again. for value, you are better off buying online for pickup. read more

Who does not love Apple? For Apple lovers, this is a great sort of visit and like any other store, it has lots of things to purchase and plenty of to help you. Worst service ever !! I waited an hour and they couldn't care less about the customers. Management needs training on hospitality .

Management (WM w glasses there was also a BM) on Thursday March 27 does not care about customers or their experience. Both insisted that it wasn't my phone but wouldn't allow me to try a different phone to see if it work. The girl Ki was nice but the manager (s) would not give me a new phone when clearly my phone continuously goes to SOS. He told me to take it back to AT&T, when my case Number 102549031193 said for me to get a new phone. They tried to deflect and blame the service provider when I bought 3 phones on March 4 and only two of them allows me to make calls. I am super frustrated as I have been on the phone for hours each day this month to rectify this issue and Apple will not take the phone back. Then I come back home to call Apple online and it's the same poor service. I have had this phone since March 4th it does not work. I have taken it back to AT&T over and over again and still not working. I bought 3 phones that day and everyone's phone works except mine. AT&T says that since the other phones work and it passes their diagnostics to take it back to Apple because it is an Apple issue. I received a case number to get a new phone today, I went to the Columbia mall Apple Store in Columbia Md. The techs ran the same diagnostics and did the same troubleshooting and the phone worked for a short time. The phone worked for a quick moment and as soon as I walked out of the store it went to SOS again. I come home call online again, I was on the phone w a supervisor by the name Anjelica and she was not helpful at all with my concerns. She said that I had to pay $30 and they put a $1500 hold on my phone to exchange the phone and give me another. This is unfair because I have already paid taxes on a phone that I have not been able to utilize properly. THEN she hung up on me. Although, I got the phone from the AT&T store in Ellicott city. He would not take the phone back and when I asked for his help he asked what did I want him to do. The AT&T supervisors say take it to Apple, Apple says take it back to AT&T. No one wants to take ownership for the device not working and I have only had it for 3 weeks almost 4 weeks. Each evening I spend 3-4 hour talking to a tech to get the phone to work and it is not working. The Apple lady, Anjelica said that may I can ask friends or family to help me pay to get a replacement. WHAT??! Why would I need someone to help me pay for a replacement when I have already paid for something that doesn't work. I am also sending this in yelp as buyer be ware and contacting the Better Business Bureau. read more

I had to replair my Macbook and was able to find an appointment online a few hours later the same day. I let someone know that we were here for an appointment and he took us straight to the repair person. Unfortunately it turned out my warranty expired but she said if you call Apple services they might be kind enough to cover the charges! That advice saved us over $200 in repair cost. We were able to get the repair covered despite the expired warranty, came back the next day and then the laptop was sent in for repair. Honestly really great service. Most places would have probably just said it would cost $200 but they were nice enough to advise us on how we might be able to circumvent the cost. Also they were all so straight to the point. Come in for the repair, get assigned a Genius Bar service staff, and get straight to work. No issues whatsoever. read more

Second time this week that I had to visit The Apple Store. I had an appointment at 11:00 AM right when they opened up. Walking in the store I was greeted by Deuce (again I hope I spelled his name right). The place was packed already. I approached Daniel and he scanned my icon on the appointment email. He immediately took my information guided me to a desk area and inquired as to why I was here. I explained my battery on my IPhone needed to be replaced and I was tech ignorant. He assured me he would help and did so. All the techs there are so informed, professional, kind and patient. All in all my questions were answered and I was out the door only to be greeted by Deuce who thanked me for coming in and we exchanged a few pleasantries. Had to come back after 2pm to pick up my phone and the store was packed even more than the morning. I gave my info to the tech at pick up and no more than 10 minutes later Tay brought my newly re batteried IPhone back out to me took my card and I paid. I highly recommend The Apple Store along with their products, if nothing else the service is great!!! read more

Horrible experience! I had an appointment to replace my iPhone battery at 3:30 PM. I arrived at the store at 3:11 PM . There were no signs showing where to check in. Everyone seem occupied. The only person not occupied was security. I asked him how do I check in. He pointed at a guy with a blue shirt and said any blue shirt can check you in. I walked over to a blue shirt an said "I have an appointment for 3:30. He said it was to early to check in - but I could check in at 3:25.. I took a seat in the presumed waiting area ( again no signs). There were 3 people sitting there. 3:25 rolls around - and the 3:25 blue shirt is nowhere to be seen. 3:30 rolls around an I'm the only guy waiting. Everyone seems occupied. 2 new people at sit near me. 1 guy waits about 5 minutes - gets up at talks to a blue shirt who had just opened up. 15 minutes after that - a blue shirt walks up to the second guy - and says " I see you have been sitting here a while - can I help you?" No way for me to know if he had an earlier appointment - or even an appointment at all. 4:00 rolls around - everyone is still occupied. I walked out feeling very frustrated. The lack of signage - the lack of a clear check in process - left a bad taste in my mouth. read more

Don't bother coming to this store, complete waste of time, you're better off shopping online. Entered the store at 10:45 AM, 99% ready to buy iPad Pro and multiple accessories, spent 5 minutes looking at products and was ready to purchase. It's not yet 11 AM at this point, very few customers in the store, there were 4 Apple associates talking to each other in a group, obviously not discussing work. I politely interrupt, share that I only have about 30 minutes and would like to make a purchase. I'm rudely told, they are busy and I will have to wait. Horrible customer service! Went into this store for AirPods I bought less than 2 months ago( this was my second visit to a store). Only option was to send them in for repair or buy a new pair for a less than two month old pair of AirPods that were not functioning properly. Literally an Apple team member advised me to buy a new pair. I sent them in, I informed the person I wanted to have them sent to my house because the store is far( an hour away) a they could not send them to another store. I only went to that store because I was in the area at that time over the weekend. The repair is ready and they are sending them to the store which I didn't ask them to do. Now, I'm being told if they send them from the store to my home they are not responsible for them if they are lost in transit. They were suppose to be sent to my home from the beginning. The technician, Enrique I believe his name is got mad because I was mad that I was again at another store and still have AirPods that were not functioning properly. What I believe he did was confirm my address, but didn't continue and selected pick up in store instead as a way to be spiteful. Called support only to be hung up on. I would rate this store zero stars if I could firstly me and my friend walk in after making an appointment online I need to get my AirPods fixed. I waited for 30 minutes before I could even get a person to talk to approximately 10 minutes later, a man bald headed mask on with glasses comes out his name was Tony. Is very clear that I am not over the age of 18 but Tony must not have eyes of his own or a brain that functions upstairs absolute profanity that I was spoken to was preposterous in the discrimination that I faced as a minor in the society was awful never again will I ever step foot in the Apple Store and I would drive the extra 15 miles to the next closest one I was discriminated. Tony before we even started Tony said my chin looks like a fat lady's butt. This already put me on the verge of tears, and I cannot bear myself to stay in that store any longer after Tony finally agreed to check my AirPods after attempting to sell me some things so I did not need me my friend. Waited for an hour and 30 minutes in the back. Finally, Tony comes out and still is attempting to sell me some things and then when I say that I don't want to get them he asked me if I'm too poor to afford the $12 purchase. Tony proceeds to then use profanity against me and yell at me and my friends. This was so unacceptable in every way shape and form. I am so glad that I only had to come in for an exchange. Well, actually, it turned into a return because they did not have the item that I needed. I purchased a Apple Pencil online, but I got a second generation that was not compatible with my daughter's iPad. I went online and made a reservation at the Apple Store inside of the Columbia Mall to take care of exchanging it for a first generation. When I arrived, an associate greeted me at the front of the store. It was super crowded in there with all of the people returning items from Christmas or purchasing the new iPhone. After speaking with the associate, I realized I didn't really even need an appointment. She directed me to go to the in-store pick up area and another associate helped me out unfortunately for me they did not have any of the first generation Apple pencils in stock. He was friendly and processed a return m. While I was still inside of the store. I went on my phone to the Apple website and ordered one to be delivered to my house. I didn't have any issues during my visit, but there were a lot of people inside of the store that were frustrated because they had been waiting a while to make a purchase. Apparently for this location if you want to even buy an item you have to make an appointment. Overall, it was an OK experience, I would recommend coming off peak hours after the holiday season rush is over read more

Terrible experience with this location. Took my computer in for a repair and was told the same excuse for four weeks. "The parts not working we're running diagnostics and might replace entirely." Four whole weeks I was told this whenever I asked for information. At one put I was told to "buy a new computer" and I literally was flabbergasted. I said "that's what applecare is for" and they hung up on me! I finally got corporate involved and now they're saying they're going to actually do what they had been telling me they would for weeks and simply replace which will take ANOTHER month to complete. I have no idea why they held my computer this long only to come to a conclusion that they could have weeks ago and to add another month on to my wait time. Do not recommend. Imagine spending $1200 on your second MacBook(3rd MacBook in our household). Imagine spending over $10,000 on Apple products over the years, be it phones, iPads, accessories, etc. Now, imagine you're at home, doing your work for school, on your less than a year old MacBook Pro, and then out of nowhere, for no reason at all, your screen suddenly turns staticky and then a white light appears across the center. Imagine calling in to Apple and being told that it's a screen issue, and imagine your surprise finding that out knowing full well that there shouldn't be an issue A.) because the MacBook is, as stated earlier, new. B.) You have not dropped your MacBook once. C.) You purchased a case to protect your MacBook. Now imagine going into this terrible Apple Store, filled with rude, snarky, pseudo intellectuals under the guise of geniuses that don't even know the first rule of customer service which is treat them with respect. We were quoted a $475 fee to fix a screen we had not broken because we did not have Apple Care, even though the computer has a warranty that clearly states that we should be able to return our product within a year if it is faulty. Imagine trying to explain that to two separate employees, whose names I did not get, one, an older African American with an unkept beard at the desk in the back that literally had the audacity to accuse of breaking the computer screen and lying to him about it. And after walking out of the store, offended, my GF with tears in her eyes, I grabbed her MacBook from her, walked back in the store and asked the 5ft tall, Caucasian greeter, with circular glasses(I believe) to speak with management, attempting to explain why we were so offended, only to be cut off, and told: well, looking at your case, maybe you aren't as careful with your computer as you're saying you are. Well, first of all, Einstein ... if you've ever purchased a plastic case you'd know that if you remove the case it's extremely difficult and it runs the risk of breaking. Secondly, wouldn't it be a better use of all of our time if you, oh, I don't know ... inspected the actual computer where you'd clearly see that there are no scratches bumps or bruises? This store has some of the most offensive employees that I've ever had the displeasure of standing in front of and I wish I could give you all zero stars because you don't even deserve one. I am honestly considering switching to Android after a decade plus of being labeled an Apple fan boy. Apple used to be an amazing company that stood for excellence. Either your company has been infiltrated by incompetent employees under the guise of professionals or things have totally changed. Either way, someone needs to audit this store. I went to this store because my iPad would not turn on. They checked me in and told me they'd text me when my appointment was ready in about 40-50 minutes. After over an hour of waiting, I returned back to the store because I had not received a text. They told me they had texted me and canceled my appointment. The next appointment wouldn't be for several hours and I was hesitant to believe that if I were to make an appointment they would text me again. I would not recommend this store. read more

I came. I saw and was disappointed. I expected more from the famous APPLE . When coming to Apple just to visit this store you need an appointment. There wasn't a crowd in the store so I didn't understand the long wait. I love Apple products and I still intend on my purchase but I will probably buy it online or Best Buy which have more information for your questions. When I went to purchase a new iphone in February, the gift card I was planning to use was in my son's (who lives out of town) apple wallet and I could not access. They (more than one employee) told me I could come back with him and return the phone, then buy it back using the gift card. When we attempted to do this, I was told it was outside the two week return window and they were unable (unwilling) to do it. At the very least, they did not communicate there was a time window -- I would not have purchased the phone had I known. read more

We've had really great results from this store over the years. Everything from just stopping in for a quick question to making appointments (which is not easy, but that's Apple's doing, not the store's fault) for much bigger issues. We brought my son's phone in a few years ago without an appointment. Got in their queue. He and I sat and watched videos on their Macs to kill time until they called our name. Then got great service, which I believe was changing his phone battery. Another time, last year, we brought all four of our phones in for the iPhone battery recall. In and out in very short time. But the best was the most recent. Somehow my Apple ID / account / whatever got screwed up, which then messed up my wife's and our kids' accounts. I didn't want to spend hours on the phone with Apple tech support trying to explain everything and have them walk me through doing numerous things on four different phones. So we took a shot and went to Columbia Mall during a weeknight on the off-chance that we'd be able to get in. And we did. Walked in and told someone the basics of our problem. They then turned us over to Jurrell. Jurrell then spent the next 45 minutes to an hour of our collective lives fixing everything, making sure that everything would properly sync, and just making us happy. I usually avoid Apple stores at all costs because I'm just not that up on technology and the wait seems unusually long. I had an old (about 8 years) iPad I wanted to trade in for in store credit because I knew I needed to update either my phone or my iPad. I came in and was assisted by a very friendly gentleman who asked me what I needed help with then told me it was about a 25 minute wait. Wasn't in a hurry so I sat at the iPad table and started checking out the new options. To my surprise I didn't have to wait the full 25 minutes but the lady who came to assist me was not friendly and a little standoff-ish. I had questions and with each one she seemed more annoyed. Then she was asking me if my iPad would charge valid question if the battery wasn't full. She said this with a condescending tone but whatever she might have had a bad day. After I got my receipt for my gift card I had a few more questions and asked the gentleman doing check in. He was very patient and answered all my questions. What I wish someone would have told me: apparently an Apple gift card is very different from an iTunes gift card. Didn't even realize there were two types of gift cards so this is partially my fault. It would have been nice if it was explained what I could use the gift card on though. read more

So lets start from the very begining, when I was convinced this iPhone was going to be "the best iPhone yet", so I stood in line for hours in the cold to get this phone! The phone was pretty awesome....UNTIL IT BENT. Here's where things go from bad to worse. My phone bent while riding a roller coaster, I made several attempts to have the phone fixed but was given NO help they all wanted more money! After contacting Verizon (my service provider), Apple and the Columbia Apple Store the only solution they were able to give was to pay $329 for a new phone, after I paid retail price for the phone not even 12 months ago. That's nearly $1100 in a year on just one phone. The store manager proceeds to explain the physics of the phone to me as if I care, the only thing either of us needs to understand is: A) Apple promoted this phone and nowhere or at no time did they put a disclaimer saying the phone bends. B) I am a very loyal Apple customer (I have the iPhone, iPad, MacBook, and a iMac) C)The phone being made with different material has nothing to do with a customer, I believe this is a manufacturers problem not a customers problem. I'm no genius but this sounds like terrible customer service. Not to mention a guy I work with had the same problem, took his phone to the same exact location and was able to have his replaced with no problem. I'm not sure if they are discriminating due to my gender or race but this sounds very illegal and I am highly disappointed with Apple for releasing such cheap products with the only solution being to pay more money on top of a already outrageous price. read more

If you're looking to see what the latest iDevice looks and feels like, this is your spot. They also have a Genius Bar, but I'm not much of a fruit user so I didn't stop there. The Apple Store in Columbia always seems to be crowded. Not much they can do about that, other than maybe to be staffed better. I came in with questions about the iPhone upgrade plan on a Sunday afternoon. They said it would be a 30 minute wait, and put my name in the queue. I walked around for a bit and came back about 25 mins later. They said they had already passed me on the list (and tried to find me); and that I'd have to go back on the list if I wanted to be helped. Another 25 mins later, and someone came to help me. The staff there are all pleasant and knowledgeable, I'd just suggest a better way to conduct the queue - possibly sending a text and allowing someone to be back within a few mins. It seems with such a high tech company, they could find a better way. read more

Went to the Apple Store yesterday to pick up an online order around 11am. The store wasn't crowded but it seemed only one person was working. I asked a couple people for help getting my order but they kept saying only the person who was already with a customer could help. During my visit to Columbia Mall, I decided to pay a visit to the Apple Store to browse their products. While I looking at the latest iPhone products on display, I overheard a voice that was on the Apple Store's speakers. I asked an Apple Store employee about the voice that I was hearing on the store's speakers. The Apple Store employee informed that there was an iPhone photography presentation, and I was invited to sit in on it. The presentation in progress was: 'Photo Skills: Photography on iPhone'. The Apple Store employee was an excellent presenter and engaged with those in attendance. The presenter demonstrated the photographic capabilities of Apple's iPhone 11. My cellphone is an Android, Samsung Galaxy S7. I was learning to utilize the photographic capabilities of my Android for the first time. After the 'Photo Skills: Photography on iPhone' presentation the Apple Store employees were more than willing to assist me with my numerous inquiries of the Apple products that were on display. I commended the Apple Store employees for their excellent customer service. Each employee was personable towards me. I was also invited to apply for a position as an Apple Store employee, once I told them I possessed a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Technology from Bowie State University. I am appreciative for the time, energy, and effort from each Apple Store employee that I interacted with. read more
