Bad service which resulted in HUGE problems for us. We went into the store on Sunday to upgrade my son's phone. Sales person was helpful. Tried to sell us multiple things, which we declined and new phone was to be shipped to our home. Get a text on Monday about the phone being shipped to see that the WRONG phone was being shipped. (A iPhone 15 instead of the 14) We call the sales person who apologized and told us he hit the wrong button and to return the phone to the store and a 14 should be there for us to get. Go to the store today, Tuesday, and there is no 14 in the color we requested. But that was the least of our problems. Turns out, not only did the original sales rep order the WRONG phone, he also upgraded the WRONG phone line. HUGE problems and a MAJOR inconvenience for us. After 90 minutes at the store, our new sales rep, who was fantastic, finally got everything sorted out. Would have been nice if we had been compensated for the problems that the original rep caused. Horrible customer service. We went into the store to try to get our lines pulled off our parents' family plans and made into our own separate account. After being there for an hour, they not only incorrectly set up our account by tying it to my mother's name and SSN number, but my husband's cellular data just stopped working altogether. We returned to the store the next morning to get our account fixed. We were helped by another worker, but he continued to say "there were no issues" with our account that he could see and kept saying "there wasn't anything he could do" even after explaining the issues because he "wasn't the one who helped us" the night prior. Eventually, he said he could try to make a new account for us again and transfer our lines to it. After trying multiple times and wasting time again, he finally admitted that he could see the issue on the account that before he said "wasn't there." While this was happening, the other worker who had helped us the day prior came in that same morning (even though we were told he would be there at 1pm?) and completely ignored us. After being tired of continuously trying to get a new account made and it failing, we asked them to walk us through unlocking our numbers and telling them we would be visiting Verizon to transfer our service. We were told "you do what's best for you" so not only did they not seem to care that the issue couldn't be fixed, but they also didn't care that we wanted to switch carriers. The entire situation was unbelievable. So glad to be done with AT&T after this mess. read more

Well let's begin with how I will never come back to this store. No one greeted me or helped me for about 15 minutes. I walked to the back and almost left the store with not one word from the staff of about 7 helping others, but neglecting me until I began to take pictures for yelp. When I started taking pictures they began to notice me. I have never been a at&t customer and obviously with there inability to treat me right I never will be now. I needed to add GB to my WiFi for my business and when I finally got help it took about 10 minutes to get it all working. read more

I spent several hours working with a salesperson adding a line to our plan and adding a phone. The salesperson told us we would get a 700$ trade in towards the new phone from the samsung my mother had. The manager even said so. They cannot claim they were unaware of the phone because they transfered all the info into the new phone. Went to turn in trade and was told" this phone isn't worth 700$". Well, not my problem! The manager could have said no the day I was there and spent all that time. He told my mother and myself it was all a go. This is not the way to keep customers. Shame on them. read more

This review is for corporate AT&T. Not the store itself. We will post on all AT&T yelp page since it's within the family and there is no specific corporate page. We have been loyal AT&T customers for 15 years. We have a grandfather in unlimited data. So you would think they're honor and appreciate their loyal clients, but no. They're just a bunch of greedy service provider. Since they're are not offering unlimited data anymore. They decided to sent us a letter raising it by $5 more. This is a second letter we've received within 3 months. So every 3 months it seems we get another $5 increase in our plans. What a rip off. That's how AT&T treats their loyal customers of 15 years. So to all of you yelper in search of service providers. Keep in mind. AT&T does not care about you. They're out their to make $$$. So go with whichever provider that treats you the best with the best rates. read more

Worst customer service!! These employees are horrible. Why is this store even open. The store at the mall is the best. Fire all these clowns at Dobbin and close this location. It's a waste of money to have this store. Please enroll these employees in more training. Being friendly to customers and getting returning business is important. BIG shout out to Ida and Branden for really coming through! I came in for a new sim card and was bummed to see a packed store. The Assistant Manager was at the front with his tablet checking people in and let me know it would be a "wait," as all the sales people were busy and there was someone ahead of me. I had no choice but to wait. I paced for a minute before Ida saw me and asked if I needed help. I explained that all I needed was a new sim card -- she went straight to the back. Next thing I know. Branden is calling me over to multitask me (very simple) and a gentleman he was helping troubleshoot with basically learning how to use a smart phone, what is email, what is a camera, etc...he resolved my problem in 2 minutes flat and I was out the door! Bottom line: though I wish the Asst Manager had done some creative problem solving from the get-go, I am so thankful for the teamwork and leadership from Ida and Branden ---- what could have been a 45 minute wait was resolved in 5 minutes! I rarely give five stars, but wanted to write a review so that anyone looking to come to this store does not hesitate due to the other reviews...I almost did not go for that very reason. I went there yesterday evening and was greeted by Calvin, who was wonderful. He knew exactly what my issue was, fixed it immediately, I have zero issues, got glass installed on my case (he did a perfect job)....I literally have NO complaints about this place, and trust me...that is VERY unusual for me, as I have high standards, lol! Highly recommend Calvin at this store....and honestly, the other reps there looked to me to be helping others in store, and looked to be very competent....store was not crowded around 4:30PM either...it was me and 1 other customer. Do not hesitate to come here.....one thing-- they will try their hardest to sell you direct TV, so just beware of that. It's all good, just say no if you don't want it, but they do have some pretty good deals to be honest. read more

One of the worst new customer experiences ever! My wife and I decided to convert to a joint account with AT&T from Sprint & Verizon. I ordered the iPhone 11ProMax. They shipped me an 11Pro which I returned to AT&T and they were going to exchange it for the correct phone. Today, I found out from AT&T they don't have an exchange on record and also, they canceled my line off the account. It shouldn't be this hard to do what should've been a simple exchange. Instead, between dealing with the nonchalant attitude of the AT&T retail store we originally opened the account with to the numerous AT&T phone reps who each gave different explanations of the status of my order, I experienced a complicated, unacceptable, and annoying customer experience. The AT&T rep had the audacity to ask me if I wanted to reorder the phone. My response: absolutely not! I will stay with Verizon and my iPhone 8. read more

They finally lost my business. All the good employees are LONG gone and the remaining staff act like they can't stand their lives. I'm over the haughty, rude and dismissive behavior I've been tolerating the past year or two. Even the updates to the decor are useless. The employees act like they are seriously doing you a major favor by even talking to you. They need to fire everyone and start from scratch. Resellers do a better job of representing AT&T. Promptly called up their CS and filed complaint AND got everything I wanted in the beginning. Thank the heavens that I always get great service when I call AT&T. Why should I give them one star? They do not deserve it I guess that the only choice I have since Yelp doesn't allow us to give a zero star review for businesses we review! First of all they are always ran out at many new iPhone 6 models and capacity. What a waste of time I went there today and manager said you can cross-upgrade your line it is impossible! I did it before at different AT&T locations no problems and when I called customer service they said you are eligible for cross upgrade but we can't do it over the phone you must go to an At&T location to get it done! But this place was a real waste of time, after manager refuse to cross upgrade(maybe lack of knowledge and experience) I went to apple store at columbia mall they had what I exactly wanted and they did cross upgrade my line without any problems! 1 star because they're close and have a lot of phone selection. However their Customer Service deserves 0 stars. Went in October to check about an upgrade for my husband's phone. The "manager" as he identified himself as, said my husband wasn't allowed an upgrade until November. I said "Hmm, that's strange. I could have sworn we upgraded it in October two years ago." He asked if I wanted the receipt for the previous purchase. I said NO and he printed it anyways and handed to me with this pompous attitude. I love this store... I have been to this store on numerous occasions for various reasons. I have always gotten excellent service each employee takes their time and makes sure they explain every open available to you. Every time I go I ask for Jose he's efficient and very knowledgeable about each and every product. He even sold me my home security system!!! I have been very happy with all my services. I have been to various different ATT stores and I will take the long drive to this location just to get the incredible service I am used to. read more

Have to give mad props to Osvaldo Maldonado. When I went in the store he helped me with an upgrade of my phone. When he first approached me I wasn't too sure he would be much help but he surprised me and helped me out a lot. I would give five stars but I lost my music in the transfer from one phone to the new one. Other than that I enjoyed my experience. I would definitely recommend him to others. The only reason my review gets 1 star is because you can't give zero. At least Ida and Johnson were very helpful here. I traded in an iPhone 6s that was at the end of its rope. I upgraded to the iPhone X AND opted for the additional insurance. After 2 days, a green line appeared on the right side of the screen. After researching online, it appeared that this is fairly common with the iPhone X and you are warranted a replacement as it is defective. Needless to say they refused to replace my phone and kept sending me to Apple. Apple said they can not replace my phone since I did not buy it there. After talking to corporate, they put a note on my account to go back to the store and get a new phone. The manager said the store operates independently and he doesn't need to listen to corporate and will not replace my phone. He followed that with "anything else I can help you with"? I then called corporate back and complained and they tried to get me new phone but for some reason can't. I also found out that the store manager in Dobbin said my phone was "physically damaged". He lied; not a scratch. I would avoid this store if you would like anything resembling decent customer service. read more

Awful service. I went in to have data transferred from my old phone to my new phone. I was told that "they don't do that here" I actually have to download an app on both phones and do the transfer myself. Strange considering my husband went to the AT&T in Rockville and they were more than happy to transfer the data. Even if it is true that "they don't do that here" there was no effort to even walk me through downloading the apps or showing me how to do the transfer. I NEVER should have left t-mobile. If you are thinking of becoming an AT&T customer don't do it. They are awful! I guess I need to go to a location where the associates are less lazy. read more

Going into this place is an absolute horror for a handicapped person like me. Yes I am old, but ADA should shut this place down to not having but 3 or 4 places for someone to sit and wait for service. Music is blaring and rude people yelling at the top of their voices to the point you can't even hear yourself talk much less try to converse with a rude AT&T over the phone about a billing dispute. For me, this place is Auschwitz! I absolutely despise going there but dealing with AT&T'S phone "Customer Service" is just about 3 times WORSE! Bait and switch! My techno challenged hubby was talked into purchasing an IPad mini 3 as a "deal" with an Iphone 6. Was not told that it had to be connected to ATT network and cost $10 per month for access. Even assigned a new phone number to the Ipad without telling my husband the number! Sales person was evasive and never disclosed why a $40 activation fee was inlcuded. AND there was no way to cancel. NO WAY TO CANCEL! Returning Ipad mini and purchasing another one elsewhere. DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!! this locations customer service is despicable. i tried to work with them on fixing a mistake they made (DO NOT LET THEM PUT A LIFEPROOF CASE ON YOUR PHONE) that caused the warranty to be voided. i was rudely told that there is no proof they put the case on. then i was given the offer of upgrading early (which they offer to basically any customer who walks in the store in order to make a sale). in other words... they wanted me to not only pay for their mistake but waste one of my upgrades. with plenty of other at&t locations i see no reason to support a store with such dismal customer service. read more

Lying and deceiving is about the only thing these people do. Had numerous charges and fees on my bill after getting an upgrade, about $95 - I was not told about any of them. They added insurance on to my phone and my husband's phone without permission. It seems the incentives in this store are misaligned when all employees care about is making a sale. read more

I can see why people would say that the employees don't care...as soon as you walk in all of the employees look at you and then avoid talking or making eye contact. But I asked a woman if she could help she said no but maybe someone else could and a male employee did step up to the plate and helped me. I am very confused as to what rating to give because I am thankful for the assistance I did receive. Being in other At&t locations will make you realize what kind of service you are supposed to receive. So today I came in to upgrade a line, I knew what I wanted and the employee stated that it would take 10 minutes to register the phone and sign me up. I mentioned being clumsy and very accidental but at no time did the employee recommend any accessories such as a case or screen saver perhaps or even promoting the packages they have currently out right now. I would have loved to be informed of ways to protect my phone but it doesn't seem as if the employees interact well with customers much here. This store has serious customer service issues. After walking in during the middle of the day, I wasn't greeted to be signed in for 10 minutes. I had to ask about it, not knowing the process, which allowed someone to be added in front of me. I was told there would be about a 25 minute wait. 45 minutes later I'm still waiting. Meanwhile, there are 2 employees walking around counting cases...with 6 customers waiting and 2 more that left. Also while waiting, a woman came in to cancel a phone line because of a death. Not only was no empathy shown, the woman was told they couldn't and wouldn't help her unless she provided a death certificate. While I understand the policy, it is also important to show customer care and courtesy. I will not be doing back to this location. read more

I guess the quality of service must depend on which store you go to and when you go. I went to the AT&T store at Columbia Mall and found the service excellent! I did have a 15 minute wait because there were two other walk-in customers ahead of me, but it was worth the wait. I was there to exchange a Droid phone that I had recently upgraded to, but didn't like, for an iPhone 6. The employee who helped me didn't give any arguments. He even volunteered the information that I could get a 15% discount on my phone plan just by showing my work badge. (This applied even though the phone belongs to me personally, not to my company.) I didn't have my badge on me, so I had to go home and get it. When I returned to the store a few hours later, they didn't make me wait again, they just took care of giving me the discount immediately. read more
