This Apple store in Ross Park Mall offers drop-in shopping, shopping by appointment, trade-ins, carrier deals and activations, and a Genius Bar for technical support and hardware repairs. I came to this store to purchase a new iPhone. As soon as I entered the store, a friendly employee said hello and asked me what I needed. I replied that I wanted to buy an iPhone 17. He asked me about my preferred color and amount of storage. He said that the store had the phone in stock. He also assessed the condition of my iPhone 14 Pro as being excellent, and he deducted a few hundred dollars from the cost of my iPhone 17. He retrieved the iPhone 17 and then spent many minutes setting it up and transferring all of my previous applications, photos and videos, contacts, text messages, etcetera. I felt thankful for his service, and I like my new phone. read more

Have been an Android person since my first flip phone. My employer gave us all iPhones. I am like a fish out of water. For the last week. I have been asking children and young adults for assistance. As a new iPhone person, I received an email with a list of classes being held at the Apple store. What did I have to lose? I arrived with a list of questions. I was the only student in the class. Quinten (aka Q) was great! In our hour together, he helped me do a crosswalk between Android and Apple. And yes, my Android has some features the iPhone doesn't and vice versa. I had an appointment, and I still had to wait 30 minutes, I even saw people arrive after me and get help before me. Once it was my turn, the technician somewhat gave me misinformation, ultimately they couldn't, or wouldn't, help me since my warranty was up. Even though he said this was a "known problem" with my product. So I asked if this is a known issue, why is there no recall and why can't my product be replaced, he kept circling back to the lack of warranty. He said that I would have better luck bringing this issue to the Apple Phone Support, but it was Apple Phone Support that directed me to in person at a store. He just kept saying that since it's a known issue with this product the phone service would help me. But of course they didn't and they tried to redirect me to the store again. Oh, and the people on phone service had no idea that this was a problem with the product I needed fixed. So the "genius" lied to me to get rid of me. read more

I bought iPhone 16e the day it came out from apple. I had a 5 year old iPhone and my phone was synced at apple by an employee. My phone was glitching very badly a few hours later- the letters were getting messed up and every time I typed, the same configuration of weird letters kept showing up. I called apple support and went through 30 mins of them running programs on my not even 24 hour new iPhone. Apple IT said I should go to the store and apple would get me a new phone. She made me an appointment and was helpful. When I went to Ross park apple, the IT guy laughed at me when I told him what IT said over the phone. He said "we never do that" and then proceeded to do syncing and testing with my phone for 45 mins. He then made me pay for apple iCloud to get more storage, which I replied- why am I paying for an issue that I didn't cause as this phone is brand new. He proceeded to say it wasn't an apple issue and blamed it on me as I didn't have an iPhone before this new phone- which I did. I've had an iPhone my whole life. So I paid for this upgrade then he did a hard reset of my phone and I lost lots of information and messages from my pap who is no longer living. I had no idea I was going to lose so much. I just left bc ultimately I was there for 2.5 hours, 30 min on the phone, after syncing in the Apple Store. Idk what's going on but I think it's a whole scam. Apple is so sleazy. I don't appreciate IT blaming me for the issue- especially since I saw numerous people online having the same issue I was. Whatever happens with your phone, Apple doesn't care and it's all your fault. What a waste of time read more

I had a problem have a problem with my not hooking up to Wi-Fi or Bluetooth a software problem. I had to call Apple six times. Sent me here to Ross Park Mall. I have AppleCare. I have 360 now or whatever. A hassle from every telemarketer then the guy behind the counter here at Ross Park doesn't wanna put in the thing to get a new phone. Told you to it's the Apple Store why would I expect you to do it at the Apple Store my problems with the product not my service I am seriously about over iPhones every time I pay it off. Something with the software happens. To buy a new you can never get anybody to help you. seems like every time I pay off my phone some software stuff happens after you update it. Multiple people are having the problem. I have people I know. And online I searched like 10,000 people so why is it such a hassle to get it fixed? read more

My son's new iPhone 13 Pro developed a series of weird verticle lines on the screen, and attempts to repair it at home were unsuccessful. Scheduled a repair appointment via phone, and we were seen on time by a helpful staff member. The fix took a bit less than an hour, so we roamed the mall stores while waiting. A new screen fixed his phone, the warranty covered the repair at no cost to me, and the boy's back to smiling. Well done, Apple Store! read more

All I needed was a battery replacement, but every step has been super difficult. It's impossible to call the store directly, because it immediately connects you with an AI system, and if you try to get connected with a person, it takes you to a generic Apple support customer service line. I literally just wanted to call the store and tell them when I could drop off my computer, instead, I ended up talking to some support guy in India and spent 30 minutes trying to spell out my Apple ID for him. I never even got the info I needed across, literally just gave up after being on the phone for so long when all I wanted was to just contact the store with a simple message. Same thing happened again when I wanted to call the store and check on the status of my repair. This time the AI sent me a link where I should be able to do that, but all it was telling me was that I had a MacBook in the shop - no duh. Then it was saying it was canceling my appointment when I didn't want that?? I ended up driving to the store to just ask an employee in person because honestly that was the "easiest" way to get a hold of somebody to talk to. They tell me it'll be ready by the end of the day, they close in 2 hours, and so I figure I'll wander around the mall till they call me. It's getting close to closing time, still haven't heard so I head over. They tell me "a few more minutes." I end up getting stuck there an hour after they closed. I'm finally home, go to boot up my computer and it isn't working, they didn't even finish the job to make sure it's functioning properly. I sent in a laptop that just needed a new battery, got back a broken computer. I want to die. read more

The more I visit this particular location the better I like it over the Apple store at South Hills Village. The people here seem more knowledgeable and friendly as well as explain everything I need to know in detail. They still have the traditional Genius Bar unlike the one at South Hills Village where they reconverted that area for teaching. Dragging my desktop in there can be a chore but staff is willing to take it to the store from my car and bring it back there. There will never be a time when it is not crowded here. Be prepared to wait whenever you come however, they will give you all the time they can spare with you and help you when you have any issues with your devices or wish to make a purchase. Financing is available through Barclay and from time to time the credit card company will offer promotions such as student or holiday where you can pay off your purchase over time without incurring finance charges. I am thrilled with the prospect of finally being able to invest in a desktop computer that will not require me to purchase Microsoft office in order to prepare my teaching documents. Their "pages" app has been upgraded so that I can prepare my document and then arrange to have it sent as a "word" document to someone who does not have a MAC operating system so they can read and review it. Definitely make an apt and keep it if you have an issue with any Apple devices. Applecare has now been extended to include damage to your unit as well as technical support. Like all the Apple stores they do offer basic classes but unless you're into graphics you just get an overview of the product you purchased. They are located on the 2nd level of Ross Park Mall near Nordstrom. read more

Horrible customer service. Never had a bad experience in an Apple store until today. It was obvious the woman assigned to us was in a foul mood as she approached us. She told us they won't transfer the data from the old device to the new device unless we leave both devices with them for 24-48 hours. I asked why. She said they don't have time. I look around and observe three groups of 2-3 Apple employees talking with each other. It wasn't that busy. I asked what I needed to transfer. She said something about a cable. I said OK, I'll buy one. She stomped off in a huff, came back and said they are out of stock and go to BestBuy I pointed out that the text I got from Apple offered three options, one of which was that this store would transfer the data from the old device to the new. Why don't you let us know that you require 24-48 hours to do it and you don't carry the cable that's needed to do it? She stomped off and barked over her shoulder, "I'll get a manager." My teenager daughter and I looked at each other in disbelief. She was obviously having a bad day, but that slob of a woman should not be interacting with customers. read more

Was sitting at the Bar waiting and there were3 apple employees talking at one corner of the bar, looking at a personal laptop. I was only person waiting at the bar. The Apple Store in the Ross Park Mall is a prime example of how to do business. Employees are always available to help a customer, but never overwhelm them by badgering constantly, hoping to make a sale. The sales staff is made up of hardworking and passionate workers who are friendly and helpful. One of the managers, Erik, proved to be an exceptionally helpful, bright and friendly help to me as I was trying to purchase an Apple Watch for my girlfriend. He took personal care over my needs and made sure I left the store satisfied. He is a good representation of great customer service and his sales employees are an extension of that. People who complain about their experiences here don't seems to understand the logistics of running an Apple Store. Yes, it is going to be busy, loud and energetic. No, you will not be pounced on by sales associates asking you what you need. Yes, Apple products are rather pricey. If you want help with something, just ask an employee and notice how well they respond to make sure you are taken care of. If you want to be assaulted with "Hey, can i help you find something today" type questions and then have an employee stand over your shoulder will you look around, go to Journey's. You'll love it. And if you don't like Apple products or their prices, go buy yourself an inferior phone, tablet or laptop that has a 10% chance of blowing up in your face. Enjoy that. Visiting the Apple Store in Ross Park is a pleasant and enthusiasm-filled experience that reflects how Apple does business. read more

Apple needs to focus more on providing customer service to the people paying $1100.00 for phones that don't work, waiting over an hour outside of their store, watching some moron employee literally practice flipping his pen up in the air and catching it , again and again, only to eventually be turned away by the same moron. This, after spending 30 min in the parking lot getting transferred around to a whole assortment of morons working from home. Ross Park Apple is a shit show. I just had the employee described above tell me I hadn't been waiting for an hour, after asking me all the same questions I had already answered for the guy who took my temperature when I got there, AN HOUR PRIOR. 90 minutes of my day wasted between the call and the run around inside and my problem wasn't even addressed. Get it together, clowns. If, against all recommendation, you go to this store and end up dealing with a really annoying guy with a reverse widow's peak hairline, just leave and try somewhere else. I went in knowing exactly what I wanted after a lot of research. I knew exactly what price it would be and how I wanted to pay for it. I answered the salesperson's questions but also clearly explained that I already knew what I wanted and that I didn't want to apply for an Apple Card. She made me stand there awkwardly for probably five minutes and listen to all the reasons why I shouldn't buy something that wasn't the latest generation (for instance, "the one you want doesn't have 5G." Like as dramatically as if I was considering getting dialup. Fortunately my husband who works in telecom showed up at that point and when I asked him if 5G should be a concern, he flat out said "We don't even have 5G around here, you won't need it.") and why I should use an Apple Card. When I tried to explain again that after my research I had already decided what and how to buy, she continued talking AT me and overriding everything I said including some stuff I knew not to be true. For example, she said I couldn't use the payment method I wanted to use. I told her that the app literally has an option to pay in-store. Surprise surprise, I was able to use the payment method I wanted to use. When she realized she wasn't going to be able to upsell me, I guess, she got super snippy and short with me like I was wasting her time. What. The. Heck. I know salespeople are there to try to guide and also upsell, but this was my first time buying a new iPhone in an actual Apple store, where I expected to have a pleasant experience. I will definitely not come back to this location, or any in-person Apple store, EVER. PS - what I purchased was EXACTLY what I needed. It's perfect. Everything she told me was bs. read more

I am a huge Apple fan all the computers and phones I have are all Apple. I went into the store today as my iPad pro had a slight crack in the screen and needed replacement. I got there and had to wait about 15 minutes before a tech came over and looked at it and told me that it was covered and he would just replace the whole unit. sounds easy but really is not as easy as you think. First you need to upload all data and apps to the cloud, Then download them to the new iPad then wait for all to populate. The technician was very helpful and friendly. He walked me through the entire process and i was in and out in about 1 hour. The store is a little smaller than some of the New York stores which is what I am used too. Also they seem to have overall less merchandise for sale here. Overall the experience was great I walked in with a broken iPad and walked out with a brand new one. I love all products Apple and I always recommend Apple products over android every day of the week. This Apple location is great and it is in a beautiful Mall as well. I highly recommend Apple products and this Apple store location as the staff is great and of coarse the products are amazing. read more

I had been having some trouble with my apple airpods and been to multiple apple stores for a fix them for a few weeks. I kept running into issues. The airpods were still not working and I decided to try apple at ross park to see if they could help me find a resolution. Rich was assigned to help me out. I had no appointment-just walked in and Rich apologized up and down for apple not repairing everything sooner. I was greatly pleased with the service-they gave me brand new airpods-fully covered with the warranty by apple and apple care. I cannot say thank you enough to Rich and the staff at this store for finally getting to the bottom of this problem and helping me out. Thank you! read more

I waited 40 minutes after my name was taken down before someone assisted me. When I was standing there I observed multiple employees just walking around looking around flipping a pen between their fingers stopping walk ins asking if they needed assistance and continue to loom around the store after being told no they were just looking. After 20 minutes I approached an employee and asked them about when I was going to be assisted. They stated they was gonna be with me shortly because I was next on their list. They never assisted me because they chose to assist 4 other people who walked in after I asked that. After 20 minutes of asking the other employee And being told I was next another employee approached me apologizing saying they were short staffed. I just nodded and said I understand to avoid an argument. Something that took less than 5 minutes took 40 minutes of waiting! They were not understaffed they had poor time management and do not assist walk ins in the order that they come in. read more

By far the most unpleasant experience I've ever had. Went with my mother to get her battery replaced as the phone is several years old. Being that we DID have an appointment one would expect to be waited on within a short period of time. Based off of this interaction there is no point in scheduling an appointment as they wait on any random person before they even acknowledge your presence. Once we got to the point where they take you to one of the tables to check you in the real excitement starts. Most of the employees we interacted with from this time on were condescending and did not seem very knowledgeable. I understand it is their job to attempt to upsell but how many times do they expect a person to say no. It's as if they're attempting to wear you down until you give in. I do not appreciate the fact that once we declined to upgrade and insisted that we only wanted the battery replaced the employee kept pushing. Finally after much discussion they agreed that the phone was in good condition other than the battery. We were at this time informed it would take TWO HOURS for them to replace the battery. The experience was irritating enough but we made the decision to wait. When we arrived back the full two hours later we were once again ignored when entering the store. The employees found it a better use of their time to chitchat than take care of the many customers. After getting the attention of one employee she looked up the information which had been incorrectly entered by the first employee earlier that day. When we asked how my name could be associated with my mother's device they claimed it had to have been our fault when making the appointment which was total bull. We were told to wait at the "Genius Bar". We waited there for an additional 45 minutes. When they finally brought the phone out they told us that they were unable to put it back together properly so it wouldn't vibrate. This didn't seem too big of a deal as they said they had ordered a replacement which was only going to cost the price of the battery. Once in the car we realized they had horribly damaged the phone. It is nearly impossible to use the phone as it shuts off every two minutes or less. Suffice to say not impressed with this place and do not intend on going back after receiving the replacement. read more

The store and the products are nice even though I am loyal to Android. They have lots of Ipods from Nanos to Touchs. Iphone 4s and Ipads as well. I was really thinking about buying a Ipod Touch however the customer service sucks! I was in the store for at least 20 minutes before someone asked if I needed any help. I jumped through all their hoops, waited 4 days to get my appointment, met with their so called genius Evan who said that he emailed me my paperwork I needed for my insurance company due to the phone being unrepairable...well..no email and an hour on the phone with Apple support who could not get through to the store because they have it set up so it goes directly to support..BS! They then wanted me to file a complaint through apple..Hell no! All he had to do was email my freaking unrepairable report..but he was too high to hit the send button! I always have such a meh experience here. Every time I walk in here it seems to go a little further downhill. I remember walking in here and being attacked by the employees to see if I needed help. Now, it's more like their job to go out of their way to ignore you. The only help I received was by one of the employees telling what was on sale that day. No questions pertaining to what I needed help with, was I looking for something, or would I want to buy something. Just there are cases for cases over there if you want to look at them. This is the second time I have received terrible and rude service at that Apple Store. After spending several days to get an appointment to look at an iPhone I bought a few days earlier, I was told they could squeeze me the next day. I had a bad experience there a few years earlier but I needed service and took it. I get there and find out all people without appointments were being taken care of and many before me. The lady who came out was abrupt and told me to call Apple support. I am a pharmacist and took a day off for this appointment. Without looking at the phone and hearing my full explanation she said I hadn't done a backup . I assured her I did one less than a month ago and it showed up when I tried to sync. Good manners were useless and I walked away. The Apple on Walnut Street is much better. Recently I went to an Apple in Manhattan and it was also a pleasant experience there. If I could give a zero stars I would the manager was so rude we called and asked if we needed a appointment they said no and we go there and the lady said when is your appointment so we said we called and they said you didn't need a appointment and she said the next appointment is tomorrow I took off work to go there and she didn't even care and we called the manager and the manager gave me an excuse of some of our employees are home sick so we are trying to make it safe and he said nobody is going to help you of you keep begging us so we left and then the next time we went I was getting a new phone and it was hooked up to another phone number and the lady said you have to leave because you have been in here to long I used to have great service here but when Covid-19 started it was terrible! read more

Zero complaints here! Service here has always been fast, efficient, and of excellent quality. I've bought several items here, and have never, not even during the holidays, had do wait longer than 1-2 minutes to be helped. The layout of the store is conducive to customers being able to try out the numerous options and sense the feel of these incredible objects for themselves. I've always been somewhat skeptical of the Apple Store idea, but clearly this model has come to stay - and is incredible! Will definitely be back! read more

MAKE AN APPOINTMENT! This is my third visit to the Apple store. One visit was a disaster! I popped in, the line was long, I was handed off to Five different associates and was not satisfied at all. Fortunately, times have changed and I got smarter. I make appointments now and things go much more smoothly. This last time was TERRIFIC! The store was crowded, there were lines everywhere. Because I made an appointment, my wait was short. Bret, one of the staff attended to my needs in a competent and pleasant manner. He was also attending to two other customers at the same time. I have always loved Apple and truly enjoy visiting their retail stores. That being said, the Ross Park store fails to live up to expectations based on what I have consistently experienced at other stores. I was there simply to get a screen protector installed. The gentleman that did it was very rude to my son as well as doing a very poor job on the installation of the protector. I'll stick with South Hills or Shadyside going forward. read more

Terrible service. Scheduled an appointment for 6:45 pm, arrived on time and had to wait 20 minutes to get service. When we finally did, they took my airpods, which had a weird noticeable crackling noise in the left side, and plugged them into their test software. We were told to come back at 7:20 to retrieve them as we were told to be back by that time. We get back to the store at 7:19 and wait around till 7:58. The store closes at 8. We finally got my case back and were told that nothing was wrong with them and that they weren't replaced. There was obviously something wrong if they just replaced the tips and put them on. As we're walking out, I open the case and they aren't even in it. Takes another 10 minutes just to get the actual airpods back. We came in being told it was going to be a fast experience, but came out nearly 2 hours later with broken airpods which we nearly didn't even get back. What a joke. read more

I want to thank Elaine and Matt for their tremendous help w my 82 year old mother's new iPad. They spent 2 hours with me. I had been there before and called Apple support with no results and was going to return a $600 purchase. They were patient and understanding and showed me how to get all her info off a previous iPad that was being completely stubborn because it was so old. I came home and did exactly what they went over w me AND SUCCESS!!! My mother is enjoying her new I pad and playing her games RIGHT WHERE SHE LEFT OFF! I went to the Ross Park Apple store to bring in my daughter's MacBook Air for repair. They said that they could fix it in a day or two. Four days later, I got a call from one of their techs who asked me to call back with more information so they could access the hard drive. I returned the call within a few minutes. Their phone rang for a LONG time then cut me off. This happened several times. I called the central Apple number. They tried to call the Ross Park Mall and had the same problem. Apple even called the Apple store on Shadyside (very easy to reach) and they could not reach the Ross Park Store either. The system would not allow me to leave a message. No one knew why the Ross Park store was incommunicado. Finally, late in the afternoon, I decided to call the Ross Park Apple Store and access sales. Miracle! I got through! Turns out that the only tech at the store found out that he had Covid and had to leave the store immediately. They did not have anyone to replace him. It did not occur to anyone to put a message on their machine or have a way for people to leave messages. There another issue--if one suspects that one has Covid and is waiting for test results, should one be working at a mall with customers? Lucky I am vaccinated. read more

We had decided to buy an iPad, so I was very excited to go to the Apple store and buy it. It was a bit of an anticlimax though. After dropping almost a thousand dollars on the thing, I didn't find the good people at the Apple store to be particularly helpful or accommodating. They had a "personal setup" guy who was responsible for me and another guy. The other guy was more clueless than I was, so he (the Apple Personal Setup "expert") ended up spending the majority of his time helping him. As a result, when I encountered problems I didn't really get the understanding and helpful ear that I'd expected from a store supposedly known for their customer service. The problems I solved for myself snowballed into other problems and at one point the personal setup guy consulted another guy, and when neither knew the answer he said, "I don't really know what to do here," then turned back to the clueless guy, who was less inconvenient to help. I eventually solved my own problem, but my personal setup guy took his lunch break. So I packaged up my ipad. . . went behind the counter, got my own Apple store bag, slipped it inside and left. I was reminded of the South Park episode where it's Christmas, and all the kids in South Park are consumed with opening and playing with their presents and they show a cutaway of Jesus (who on South Park is an actual character (or used to be)) sitting all alone with a party hat on singing "Happy Birthday to Me" mournfully. Stupid Apple store. On top of that, they used my patch cord from my Ipad box (I've since learned this isn't SOP) and when I boxed everything up I forgot the patch cord in the stupid store. If I bring my receipt back to the store they said they'd give me another one. Fantastic. read more
