The problem was that the iPhone was not put back together properly. The screen sticks out a bit from the metal back/case a bit higher on one side than it does on the other. I asked the gentleman about this, and he claimed no responsibility, telling me he didn't touch the screen. He said the glass was coming unglued from the chassis. Yes, I agree, but this was not an issue 15 minutes ago. So the battery works fine, but buyer beware.
