I had to come here after iOS upgrades to my iPhone messed it up (some apps wouldn't launch, etc). I had an appointment and you need to be patient with that time for your appoint meaning they will see you in the next 30 minutes or so. For my instance, I got there a few minutes early and it was near 30 minutes before the person helped me. The most frustrating (hence, one start reduction) is there are tons of employees roaming around "selling" while they have only a few folks at the Genius Bar helping people out. All that said, they did restore my iPhone with a fresh install of iOS 26.5, I hooked to their WiFi and started downloading apps. I did prioritize a few apps I was having problems with and verified one of those before leaving. At home the download of the apps was much faster and my issues were resolved. read more

Apple in Shadyside really helped me out when I needed it. I ended up dropping my phone after work and completely breaking it. I could not even get into it because of the damage. The next day after work I went to the Shadyside location and I am so grateful I did. They helped me decide on purchasing a new phone and the whole process was very smooth. I ended up buying the Apple iPhone 17 Pro and trading in my old phone. The staff walked me through everything step by step and were very patient with all the questions I had. Inside, it looks like your typical Apple Store with a wide open layout, lots of devices and accessories on display, and plenty of employees available to help when needed. The store was busy but still well organized. Zach helped me out and he was fantastic. He explained all the updated features on my new phone, especially the camera, which I am really excited about. He made the whole experience easy and stress free. Overall I had a great experience and I am very thankful for the help I received. The Genius specialist didn't over to us until 6:20 but he did a good job helping fix this issue that even the techs on the phone call couldn't fix. AWFUL. I went in to get help with a synch issue and the "genius" clicked a few buttons and declared all is good. However, he made it good by wiping out all of the unsynched items which are lost. And after an hour in the store and and an hour on the phone with support the solution is "we can't retrieve them so back up to time machine in the future." Don't I pay for iCloud back up to solve just this problem? Just crap. Service, support, process. Everything about this was awful. And I am an Apple fan. At least was. read more

Absolutely worst shopping experience ever in an Apple store since 1991. I decided to upgrade to the latest iPhone 16 Pro. Well, it's been crashing and burning stuck absolutely frozen for up to 5 minutes. I can't restart the phone or even get it to turn off and on the entire time. This iPhone is an unmitigated disaster and nightmare. I can't log into most of my apps at all. And I even get kicked out of a lot of. Service was a D Minus this time with Gavin. Apple Support has given me more multi digit case numbers than any of us can keep track of. Suffice it to say, I am contemplating filing suit against Apple. It's that bad, folks genuinely and time once again, it seems and feels to me!!! I am done thoroughly and totally out of patience. Just sent a friend there to buy a new IPad Pro for almost $3k. She is older and new to tne Apple ecosystem. I told her to ask them to please set it up initially using her iPhone. The rep said they don't do that, but it's easy - which is true UNLESS you are in your mid-seventies and do not see or hear as well as you should. Every other Apple Store I called was more than willing to do this. If not for requests like this, what is the Genius Bar there for? Anyway, this store doesn't have a great customer service score - and this is why. Ross Park said they would gladly help her. Perhaps that's a better store to visit. read more

It's just awful there. They screwed up a file transfer, literally lied about it and then admitted it when I proved they were lying. When I caught them, instead of helping me, the world's worst employee, Tyrone Campbell gave me the option of a refund or leaving the store. He said he was a manager but he is not. Not sure what happened to it ... but my wife's iPhone 13 mini went caput. Last night it just wouldn't charge any more. I didn't have an appointment and went to the Shadyside Apple store as it was the closest one to our house. I checked in right away and they sat me down. I thought I'd have to wait a while but it wasn't bad at all. Make an appointment if you can but my wait wasn't bad. A young fella was my tech ... and he was great! We had some challenges getting information from my wife's phone but he (Gavin) was so patient and we eventually got everything figured out and got her what she needed. Gavin was knowledgeable on everything there. I asked about AirTags which I bought for our kids, a new watch band which appeared with us after I'd picked out what I wanted and the new phone appeared as well. He even told me about some business services that could help. Service was great. the store looked clean and I'll definitely come here in the future if I have needs. read more

This is a stand alone Apple store. It is in downtown shady side and is not in any mall like most other Apple stores. The store is a little bit on the smaller side compared to its mall counterparts. The staff where friendly and very helpful. The parking can be a problem in the area. Overall good experience with products and customer service. Would go again if in area. read more

My product is still no good 4 months unable to use and they finally said "they can send it in and get it from fixed" and I should be happy with that......... I PAID FOR AAPLE CARE! Ive been to better Apple stores (bigger etc) - always so busy and as usual I love Apple CS and service in general. Friendly, welcoming, and helpful! Our visit today was kind of a bummer due to AT&T and Apple agreement, long story short Apple didn't let us purchase the product and was telling us AT&T put a flag on the account. Called AT&T at the store and the CS said it was all on Apple not on them. Pretty confusing, my brother and I waited for almost 2 hours and ended up leaving with no working phone - the store was closed at 9pm. They told us to come back the following day or to go directly to AT&T. I know it is no one's fault but both of the companies need to have a better management overall. I have in the past had some challenging issues with Apple stores. Then I came here. Saturday after Thanksgiving. I arrived early and waited until opening. They opened just a minute early. Jen L. opened the door with a festive Christmas Santa hat and efficiently organized everyone into Genius Bar clients and purchasing clients. She did it all with a smile and brought in everyone to their appropriate stations. I was paired with Chelsea for my purchase and then Satara for setup. Both performed their respective functions admirably and I was able to move on to continue my day. The store was PACKED when I left but the forward flow was continuous. Nate, the store manager was in the midst of things and did not hesitate to pitch in, happily, to help out. Overall, a great experience. read more

Honestly, I have a greater appreciation for those that work in the tech retail industry. Not only do employees have to be well-equipped to tackle all types of technical issues, but they need patience in order to deal with impatient, difficult, hard-of-learning customers. I set up an appointment to have my crack screen replaced. Yes, it cost me a lot but that's one me, if anyone. The workers were very expressive of their gratitude for my punctuality (though this isn't something I should necessarily even be thanked for). I felt like I was taken care of from the moment I arrived until the very moment I left. The primary worker who helped me was not only friendly but he was extremely knowledgeable, patient and personable. He made a lot of customers who were inevitably in a bad mood laugh and enjoy their experience. He was swift and efficient, yet maintained immersive conversation (something, I'd argue, a robot wouldn't be able to do). One customer was complaining about costs and asking repetitive questions. Even I found myself frustrated and bothered. However, the worker addressed each question with a smile. Although I don't wish for another repair situation, I would not mind going back into this Apple Store again. My experience was very positive! read more

My favorite Apple store in the city! I will warn you however that this is the busiest store in our area. It is always packed no matter what day of the week you visit. The staff is always friendly and upbeat. You should schedule an appointment ahead of time, that will assure you prompt service. Although, depending on the difficulty level the wait can be at least 30 minutes. When they gave it back, the battery wouldn't charge and the processing power had been cut in half. Do not come to this store. I never write bad reviews, but they tried to scam me here. I spilled water on my MacBook and went in to get it fixed. They told me the computer was dead and that I needed to buy a new one. This morning, after buying a new one, my old computer turned on and works just as it had prior to the accident. The last time I went to the Apple store about a week ago... I had an awful experience with Jen. I was talking to another associate and was told to just hang out for a second. As, I'm waiting this woman (Jen) comes up to me and is very abrupt... like we can't help you for another 20 minutes. I asked if I could make an appointment. That was not allowed she said because they weren't doing appts anymore. So I left and said I will come back after I got my son from school. I return and I'm told they are taking appts. I am what some might refer to as a "mental midget." I can see you nodding already, but I'm going to explain anyway. I lost the power cord for my MacBook. Since I can't even wipe my ass without said MacBook, it was an itchy, irritating problem. This Apple Store was the wonderfully quick solution. I walked in. Some guy asked me what I needed, found it for me, sold it to me, and sent me on my way. Two minutes, tops. And my receipt was e-mailed to me as I was walking out the door. I found the power cord for my MacBook. So now I had two, and I was out $80. I figured I'd drop by the Apple Store to see if I could return the extra. I walked in. Some guy asked me what I needed, took my e-mail address and the extra charger, and sent me on my way. One minute, tops. And my refund for the full price was e-mailed to me as I was walking out the door. Now that I think about it, I essentially borrowed a power cord from the Shadyside Apple Store for a couple days, at no charge. If I had friends, I would want them to be this reliable, friendly, and easy to deal with. read more

I've had nothing but excellent experiences here. We've bought laptops, phones, tablets, and a gaggle of accessories here and it's always been great. Recently, I had to replace my iPhone and spent a little while with one of their tech guys - wish I had caught his name, because he was such a help and he deserves a shout out for his ability to help me at the same time as another customer - without it feeling awkward or rushed. This dude could multitask just like the computer he was fixing! I am a big fan of the Apple idea of pre-reserving products and Genius time, because it really helps streamline the wait in this popular store; while they do a decent job at demonstrating their product lines, it is still common for you to not be able to walk out of the store with the latest gear because of high demand. I almost took off a star for parking - finding street curbside parking is like finding a purple unicorn who farts moonbeams. The only other nearby option is an overpriced parking deck, which is awkward in contrast to the speed and efficiency of the Apple Store itself, the nexus of my Western addiction to consumerism and all things Apple.
