After 3 visits, including one cut short by the air quality (smoke) on Friday, a young man named Dalton solved my phone issue! Even the top guys had not been able to figure out why I couldn't hear audio from social media or music or dialogue from movies. Dalton just downloaded the hearing aide app & figured out that it was because my hearing aides were not balanced & all the sound was going to the right (unconnected) side. Took advantage of a deal my carrier offered for a free iPhone 17 Pro. When it arrived (long story short), it "died" during the backup restoration process. I spent a total of FOUR HOURS. stretched across 2 days, going back-and-forth between Apple phone techs, the carrier, back to Apple, back to the carrier..... After a frustrating rant at the two, I was directed to the "Genius Bar" at the Apple Store in River Park Square. Well, thank GOD they did! I was impressed the moment I walked in. I was greeted, my appointment was in the system along with the long case log. They directed me to "Karen" who immediately was able to unlock and wipe the new phone to its factory settings. After some skillful diagnostics, she was able to determine the problem was in the restoration sequence from the old phone. From there she was able to revive the new phone and get it to working status. Yes, I would have to reinstall my apps again, but I don't care. They said they would order a "backup" phone in case this one dies again. But, I think it's going to be fine. Thanks to the team at the Genius Bar - especially Karen, who was patient, efficient and personable. My thanks, also, to the store manager (sorry, I didn't get his name) for his understanding and compassion. The store is bright and lively with plenty of helpful, knowledgeable staff moving about taking care of whoever walks in. Extremely slow to get assistance even with a Genius appointment. Literally watched an employee stand against a wall, zoning out, for several minutes. Then watched this same employee assist a customer who had zero appointment before again standing against the wall for several more minutes just spacing out. Finally, about 20-30 minutes later this same employee appeared to "snap out of it" and finally came over to assist me after I'd been sitting at the Genius Bar for 45 minutes. There was no one else being assisted at the bar and the store was not that busy. Not impressed with the support in this store. Busy location with helpful and knowledgeable staff. Wait times weren't terrible on a Saturday afternoon. Only thing that can be a pain in this area (just like any other downtown area) is street parking. The mall garage is an option for cars that fit within the height requirement but if not you just hope for a spot to open. Made an appointment online to get my AirPods diagnosed, it was super easy and they send you reminders. They were welcoming and helped me right away. After testing my AirPods, they concluded my case had died and needed to replace it, so I bought a new replacement. I liked that I've been here twice now and they have been able to fix my issue. Their staff are super friendly and helpful. Note: to access this store you have to park either on the street or in the car garages, the streets are always busy so I'd rather park in the garage, walk upstairs(or elevator) to the street level and walk out towards the main entrance, then take a left and walk about 2 minutes. I brought my in-laws to the store today where we were greeted by an employee who put us on their appointment list. We were told it would be about an hour before we could be helped in purchasing/upgrading to a new iPhone and iPad but it ended up being a fraction of that. It should be noted that the store was super clean and well staffed. All of the employees and customers were wearing masks, and I was pleasantly surprised to see two security personnel near but not too close to the store's entrance. In essence the store had a safe vibe about it. My in-laws are in their early to mid 70's and are generally a bit overwhelmed by new technology. This was the reason their products were out of date and needed replacing. On this occasion I brought them to the store so I could be their tech backup, which is pathetic since I'm basically a novice myself! After about 10 minutes, way less than the quoted hour, we were greeted by Chantal. (I hope I spelled it correctly.) Chantal was very helpful and patient with my in-laws. She took extra time to answer our questions and in her caring way accessed their usage needs so she could recommend the products that fit them best. Chantal also recommended a few products to safeguard their investments including covers and AppleCare, but was never pushy or even hinty, like, "It would be best if you got this, wink wink." (Yes, I know hinty isn't an actual word but maybe it should be!) :) Chantal's patient, caring, and professional demeanor were highlighted by her willingness to chat with my in-laws, including listening to my FIL's jokes. :( She took the initiative to remember and use their first names and make them comfortable with her and ultimately with their new products and purchases. The appointment process was easy, minimal wait, and the service was exceptional. I would recommend going in store to resolve phone issues as it is much easier. Bought a MBA M2, the screen had manufacturing defects, so I returned the laptop in less than 24 hours. The staff and management on the floor provided some of the worst customer service. Additionally, I even was indirectly accused of trying to scam Apple. The inept staff didn't understand their own policies for promotions and for returns (the MBA came with a un-used/undelivered Apple promotional gift card) and so they tried to push their incompetence on me. I filed a complaint and got a call back where management confirmed their repeated failure of customer service by several staff in one visit. I took my iPhone in after my iPhone 15 max plus was updated to IOS 17, which caused it to get stuck in recovery mode. I left it with them for several hours. Upon my return I was told it was a "hardware" issue, but they couldn't run diagnostics to confirm that. They told me it would be $500 to repair the issue because the phone was 29 days out of warranty. I was told the reason it was "hardware" is because the new update must have demanded more from the hardware causing it to fail. The attendant was very rude and cut me off when I told him I didn't want to pay $500 to repair an iPhone I had just recently purchased. I will not be returning to the store. read more

Caleb was very polite but did not solve my issues because his tests said that my phone should run fine. His solution was for me to sell my 12Pro Max to a private party and buy a new phone. How extremely helpful. I am so glad I pay for AppleCare and the iPhone upgrade program through Apple. My phone has been having severe software issues where my screen will completely freeze when I use Siri or use too many applications. This takes anywhere from 10 seconds to 20 minutes to unfreeze so that I can use my phone. I can however take screenshots on my frozen phone. My phone also keeps stating "no SIM Card Installed." When I went in to Apple 10 days ago, they stated that this was an issue with Verizon so I went and got a new SIM card. With the brand new SIM card, I have had the same reoccurring issue and will lose cellular service for anywhere from 5 minutes to 8 hours. Occasionally, when I remove the SIM and reinsert it, my phone will resolve the issue. I have 5-10 screenshots over the last week alone with each of these issues. Caleb stated that because his tests said that my phone is fine, there is only one way to prove that this is a reoccurring issue. When the issue happens next, I have to drop whatever I am doing at work, and immediately drive to the Apple Store in town so that they can see the issue for themselves and swap my phone for a new one. Really not impressed with Apple. I trade in for the new phone every year with the upgrade program and was told by Caleb that "if you want to fix this issue which we cannot prove, I guess you will just have to sell your phone and buy a new one, or just deal with it until the next iPhone comes out" Really phenomenal customer service. I love apple and every technology in my house is an apple product. I used to love going to the Apple Store even taking my kids for classes. Honestly after they put security Guards at the door I feel like I'm at a cheap Walmart and don't want to go there anymore. Security is good but at least have guards that have a smile on their face or in the back of the store in case they are needed. I like the layout, and in many the service is friendly and prompt. Spokane is not so great, very hit or miss with the service. Sometimes it's great, sometimes you get a pretentious jerk. So I finally bought a new phone, but not before ordering it online (during the April 15 extra mileage point day). Did the store pickup option, which was totally efficient--from the meet at the door person through the two hand-offs, the process was pretty seamless. However, the online points that I received for the purchase (United mileage portal) were then subtracted from my account about a week later! That was shocking. Since it's a lot of mileage points, I've logged a complaint and the mileage person said there should be no reason for this and an investigation is underway. I hope this doesn't end up with a "buy it online" only to have a switch in the store during the pickup! Right... 11-Nov: same...someone will call you back. "someone" is super busy and overworked. Additionally, are your business days at apple longer than other businesses? I'm used to 24h per day, what's apple? 01-Nov: same... someone will call you back. 31-Oct: Apple service/support is the new Comcast in customer service! No, I'm not going to switch to a Samsung or google phone or whatever those droids are, so cork it, but apple/Mac has taken a hard lipskid nosedive, Jobs is rolling in his grave, Tim Cook and his underlings are emoting a continuous loser tone of desperation from top to bottom. They paved paradise and ended up with potholes. For the heck of it, I took my iPhone screen in to get replaced. I finally broke one after many years,....well, they "couldn't" get the new screen to "seat" and were happy to offer me a replacement phone for $300ish. No thanks. At least they didn't charge me the $128 for their failure. I had some 16 year old kid fully replace my screen for $50 with a little simple mechanical(pliers) maneuvering...tipped him an extra $20 because I'm like that. Anyway,...like I said, I'm not to the point where I'm gonna switch cuz macs kill it for music production and being able to integrate across devices is pretty key,...but damn all y'all in the service and consumer industry who don't go the extra mile and do it right,...you can bite my hard drive! What a complete waste of time! I signed up online for a service appointment for my MacBook Pro. As part of that process, you're asked to enter the serial number of you computer and it brings up all the device's pertinent information (model, age, etc.). I live an hour and a half away, and when I arrived for my appointment, I was immediately told that they don't service anything that's more than 5 years old (mine is significantly older) and that I should probably take it to Best Buy. Fine. Whatever. If that's your policy, that's your policy. But your system needs to make that abundantly clear to people that are making service appointments on products that are over that age. When I provided the info when I made the appointment, a pop-up or SOMETHING letting me know that this was going to be a MASSIVE waste of my time would have been appreciated. The store here you are actually able to walk in and out of without a line, and can get Genius appointments same day (usually within a 1/2 hour). The staff is always friendly, knowledgable and very helpful with my questions and problems. As a PC convert there are always little things that I am figuring out and learning about my products. After having my computer fail and having them replace it quickly without issues I am sold. My little Mac Book air is still running great and is almost 2 years old now. The Apple stores and support are what help sell me on their products. Although the Apple stores in Europe I went to were larger and marvels of engineering compared to this store.....it's still a great store. read more

I honestly didn't want to write a bad review because I'm a really big Apple fan but this store gave me a really bad experience. I waited 3 hours in downtown for my service appointment. When I finally came in, the associate inspected my phone, ran a few tests, and said that my XS Max needed to be replaced and it was going to cost $599 because I don't have AppleCare. I tried explaining to her that I did, in fact, have AppleCare.
