What had happened was that I had bought a new laptop from LG (~9 months ago) and its' performance was just so weirdly slow from the time I brought it home. In particular, the proxy setting just would not turn off no matter how many times I disabled it. Plus, the PC performance was horrifically slow. Not a good sign and I did a lot of malware scans with no luck on finding any issue. Finally, I got fed up and, after a bit of research, I found Allstate. However, there was poor communication the first time around and apparently the first guy thought that it would be acceptable to replace it with a GTX 2070 instead of the 2080 that it originally came with. Upon seeing a cheaper final price and promptly reading the receipt, I realized the mistake they made and asked them to order a 2080 instead, not minding how much longer it would take. They said that it would arrive in another couple of weeks and that I could just pay the $350 difference, no extra labor costs added. I was worried, but sure enough, they called me when it was ready and my $4000 laptop started up beautifully without a problem with a fresh installation of windows 11.
