I had to find a new nail salon as my previous salon was sold. I go by Apple Nails when I go to the gym next door. It's always busy. I read the reviews and the majority have mentioned Kim as the #1 go-to girl. I stopped in yesterday morning on my way to the gym and made an appointment with Kim for that afternoon. I was able to get in. She was very good and did my nails the way I wanted. She was fast but a very professional job. I told her I would be a regular every 2-week customer for a fill and pedicure. Walked in, no wait, which was nice. I hadn't been here in a few years & now i remember why! I got a manicure and pedicure both with gel. My manicure started chipping on day 4- okay not that upset because i do have short nails & it's not that big of a deal BUT my pedicure ALREADY STARTED CHIPPING. I get a pedicure every 3-4 months because gel is so durable and long lasting. Not this time around. The lady doing my nails constantly has the light on my toe nails & had to have her redo them, be UCSD they were smudging. Their work is decent, but has gotten sloppier and more rushed in the passed few years. I used come here religiously. I just don't get my nails done as often anymore and when I need to I always come here but am never really happy anymore. I always walk out feeling rushed and seeing uneven or crooked nails. I really liked this place the first time I had services two weeks ago. I enjoyed it so much I brought my best friend with me. Well while the two of the girls doing our pedicures were talking my friend's girl asked my girl "did you even do it right you did it so fast?" Evidently my girl was in a hurry and said "I would not know the difference". Well, my friend is Vietnamese and understood every word they said. A word to you don't assume people don't understand. I have had Kim doing my nails for over a year now and she does such a beautiful job. I tell her to put whatever design she wants on my nails because she likes to experiment and she knows that I will like anything that she does because she always does such a nice job. But if you want to get Kim, I recommend that you make an appointment because she can get busy. I literally had the worst experience here. I asked for clear acrylic nails like the 2nd picture I posted. They gave me the first picture which is clearly not at all like the 2nd picture in which I showed I wanted my nails to look like. I had to come back again because before they looked even worse than the 1st picture below. They charged me seven dollars more saying that it was a color gel when clearly it's a clear gel. She was rude when doing them again, I apologized saying I'm sorry for making you redo them and she said nothing back. i base my nail spas on price, quality, level of pain, and amount of upselling. - price is $18 for a spa pedicure. (they accept all major credit cards.) - quality is superb. - level of pain is none. - amount of upselling is the usual "do you want callus remover?". but when i say no, they don't push, unlike other places i've been. i've been here three times and i'm still loving it. (i've been asking for diana since i was happy with her the first time.) she doesn't cut too deep or hurt me when i'm getting my pedicure. the paint job is always excellent. and the foot/leg massage....ahhhhhhhh. with as many employees as they have, they sure get packed on a friday evening. i'm glad i called ahead. all the ladies (didn't see any male employees, thank goodness because men giving me a pedicure just creep me out) are as friendly as they can be with their broken english and try to have conversations with you. i'm just not the talkative type, so i sit there, watch tv and enjoy my well deserved-pedicure. perhaps i need to start a list of "places i've been who have the fox 11 hot list sticker" because apple nails does. if you watch good day la, you know what i'm talking about. yes, i find joy in the little things in life. ;) (ROTD #7) read more

I came in here for the first time to get my nails done. I have never had someone do my nails before; I usually just paint them at home by myself, but my friend said I should try it so I figured why not, just to see if I like it or not and if I don't, I don't have to do it again. Let me tell you... It was one of THE WORST customer service I have ever dealt with and one of my BIGGEST regrets coming here. My friend requested Tina, who was very nice, but since I was new, I kind of just got whoever was free. I got this lady, whose name I do not know because she had no name tag, that was seriously SO incredibly rude to me. I've never had my nails done so I am completely clueless about what to do or where to put my hands or how anything at all works, but she was so frustrated with me. Her attitude towards the entire gel nail procedure seemed as if she just wanted to be done just to get it over with. When she was cutting my cuticles, she somehow managed to make me bleed -____-. That's when you know how much she really cares about doing her job right. She was so careless. When she put out the gel machine, she just tapped the box to put my hand in. Like uhh, excuse me? Speak up... I don't know how to use it or how far to put my hand in because she never frkn told me, so every time, she would just let out a frustrated sigh. And THEN, she started to complain about me under her breath in Vietnamese about how I kept messing everything up for her ASSUMING I don't understand her since it's not English. I'm FULL Vietnamese. I might not speak it that well but I can tell you, I FULLY understood what she was saying. So sitting in the chair while she's working on my nails, my cardigan starts falling. I picked it up and then she grabs my hand away as I was reaching for my cardigan and was like, "Tsk! Did you mess it up for me?!" Excuse me... All I did was pick up my falling cardigan. Don't yell at a frkn customer and grab her and then blame her for messing up a job I'm paying YOU to do... So she tells me to go wash my hands and as soon as I come back, I hear her talking to Tina about how I messed everything up and had to keep making her do it over and Tina told her how my friend (the girl she was working on at the time) brought me here for my first time. So I finish and I'm sitting next to my friend, waiting for her to finish, and I start to look at my nails. I noticed there's a black dot on the side of my nails, underneath all the coats of polish. There was also a blob of gel top coat that was stuck to my skin that she didn't clean up and I had a hard time removing it, but Tina, the girl that was working on my friend, was nice enough to take it off for me. I paid a total of $35 + $5 tip. I should have under tipped because it was definitely not worth it. I have never ever EVER had service like this before. read more

I was coming here for months and every other time with my daughters. The last time I went my gel manicure chipped immediately and my fingers all hurt. I got the nail polish off and about 5 of my nails are lifted, halfway down my nail bed!!! I will never return. This was the most stressful mani/pedi of my life. They were so rude. Took a phone call during my massage and half assed it...they don't post how long massages are supposed to be, mine was 1 minute and 30 seconds on my pedi and less than 1 minute on my mani. They rushed me despite the fact that they were not busy. They talk amongst each other whilst pointing and laughing at customers. One of my thumbs is round and the other is square. I spent extra for gel and they managed to mess that up. Compared to other salons, their gel selection is extremely limited. They have so many pedicure chairs jammed into their establishment that the manicurist had to strategically maneuver around chairs, bumping me and other customers. Rude. Just rude. read more

for getting your nails done in a time crunch, this is the place. they have tons of spa chairs and they have a good handful of techs to make sure youre not waiting too long to get your mani pedi on :] i like that. its nothing like waiting and waiting in a salon that has like four chairs and two people working-- so that already makes this place a keeper! however, i did notice that my new full set of acrylics didnt last more than a week before a few of them chipped :[ but hey, its cool. the prices are more than reasonable and the place is fairly clean which is always a plus in my book. i also went to their website one day to find their phone number & signed up for their email club. they sent a cute little email wishing me a happy birthday, letting me know that they will give me a free gift on my next salon visit. although i never got a chance to redeem my free gift, its the thought that counts :] so four stars on their hospitality and good service! :] read more

I've come here several times and have always had pleasant experiences... until today. The place was super busy and I understand there was a wait time but usually when they seat you at one of the tables, someone starts on your nails. Today I expected the same, except today when they sat me at a table, I had to wait 20 minutes until someone just TOLD me that they'd be right with me. At this point I'm already super annoyed because I had the expectation that I was gonna he attended to. But this lady who came after me, with no appointment, had someone attending to her even before me. That annoyed me even more. Finally someone attended to me and off the bat, she was really condescending. I told her what I wanted and how I wanted it just to put it out there and she was super rude and snippy. Like... hello I am the consumer and I'm paying to have this done and I realize there's a process, but you don't have to be rude and tell me things like I'm stupid. On top of that, the place closes at 5 so she was just doing a rush job and in the process was so rough on my nails that four of my fingers started bleeding. When she hurt the first nail she was apologetic but continued being rough. Then I kept the tip already waiting on the table just so I didn't have to get it out later and she hurt my second finger, and immediately grabbed the money just Incase I decided not to tip her. I was shocked. She was talking about me to other co workers for whatever reason, constantly gesturing toward me. She even had something to say about the color I chose for my nails! In the end it was a sloppy job but every time I said something she was dismissive so I gave up. I just wanted her to finish so I can go. Safe to say I'm no longer going back there. Please treat every customer kindly and with respect. I'm never "that customer" who causes a scene or is rude to workers, but I felt I had to say something about this experience. read more

They MUST work on their cusomer service! Ten seconds after I sat down and put my feet in the lukewarm water, the lady doing my pedicure rudely taps on my legs to indicate that she wants my feet up. Like excuse me, can you use your words? The entire time she gossiped loudly with her coworkers. Her pedicure job was done way too fast and completely half-assed, she merely dabbed the lotion/oil on me, poking and probing at my feet was considered my "massage" and the paint job was poorly done: the polish does not cover my entire nail and has a few rough patches. As I was getting my pedicure, the lady doing my manicure was much nicer, asking me frequently if my nails looked okay. Other than that she also participated in the noisy gossip with the employees around her. My manicure turned out very nice compared to my pedicure though. Only reason for 2 stars instead of 1. Never again will I come to this salon. I just left after having the worst experience ever. 1) I walked in with my mom and they took her immediately and then ignored my presence for the next ten minutes. 2) After being seated, I looked down at the water and there was someone's nail clippings in it! How disgusting. The lady made an excuse saying "Oh it's probably from the girl next to you. It flew in." I don't care how the nail got there, but clean the damn tub. Ridiculous. I had to ask three times before she actually did it. 3) She made a snotty comment about if my mom was paying. After answering yes, she said you should pay for her sometime. (NONE of her business whatsoever who pays- just that someone does) 4) The color I chose for my toes apparently cost an extra $3 because it's supposedly a gel polish. Um no it wasn't. It didn't say it on the bottle, and it was in the section with all the other ordinary polishes. 5) The second she finished the top coat on my nails, she told me have a nice day. I said I wanted to sit there and let them dry and she got up to move the arm rest out of the way and said here you go. Bye. I stormed out without leaving a tip and that's when the manager (I believe) came out to talk to me. She apologized for the bad service and gave me a gift card for a free pedicure. I told her I wouldn't be back to use it. She then informed me that the lady's name is Diane and that if I do come back to say I want someone else to do my nails. I decided to try a new place close to my house and Apple Nails looked promising. Although very clean and they had a great variety of colors, I will never go back. The gel manicure was sufficient but the massage portion was pretty non existent and her etiquette was questionable. The worst was my pedicure. She rushed me through picking a color and got mad when I had more than one to choose from. Then argued with me about how short my toe nails should be. I requested a certain area on my calf to focus on during the massage portion and she threw attitude, then barely applied any pressure. The clincher was she answered her cell phone and stopped massaging. Not worth the money and clearly the people I got hate their jobs and took it out on me. Customer service was horrible. There are probably 10 nail salons within a one mile radius of my house. This being the utmost closest. First star was pretty easy to give being so close to me. The second one is given due to the amount of staff readily available for last minute appointments. The salon is clean which is also great. But customer service is lacking. I can only speak on behalf of myself but I enjoy a relaxing, quiet time while I'm getting pampered. Not all this jib-and-jabber between the workers across the room. Additionally, the two times I've been there, the nails never lasted more than a week! The prices are not worth the service. read more

I have never ever been to a nail salon that has such a terrible service!!! I don't even want to give them one star... First of all, when the lady was removing my old gel, she was super rude and doing it really rough, I don't feel like I went to a nail salon to treat my nails good, I felt like they were torturing my fingers.. And when she was putting on the fake nails, since it was my first time doing it, I asked her why they only put fake nails on top of my nails, but not the whole nails. I was just being curious and I wasn't rude at all, but what I received from her was a rolling eyes respond and "because I went to school to learn this, and this is the right way to do it" After that, she turned her head and spoke Vietnamese to another worker, with a sassy face. Luckily, my bf was right beside me and he is Vietnamese, he clearly heard she saying "this idiot knows nothing about nails, and she's questioning my nails skill".. like wtf? Who talk shits in front of their customers?? And she's being racist af, thinking if she talks shits about me in her own language I wouldn't understand Not only her attitude was horrible, her skill was super terrible too, as u can see in the picture, the top coasts are all stick to my finger, she wasn't painting my nails, but my whole finger! (I already gently asked her to remove some paint outside of my nails, again, she rolled her eyes, and talk shits about me in Vietnamese to another worker) Her Painting skill is bad, but designing skill is even worse!! Kathy has absolutely no sense of customer service. She is unbelievably unorganized. I made an appointment the day prior to get a pedicure and a manicure because I didn't want any confusion since this happened on a few other occasions. On the day of my appointment I walk in and find both Wendy and Kevin working on someone else. Wendy looked like she had just started a customer and Kathy says Kevin's customer came in and "this happens sometimes" WTF does that even mean. So am I not a customer as well!!! I had plans and had to make some quick adjustments. Most of the time I'm not in a rush so I've said no big deal but shame me for giving her my money after this has happened so many times. I've been tolerating this because of my love for Wendy but enough is enough and I'm NEVER going back. To top it off I never got an apology and Kathy acted like she didn't give a shit. I've been here several times. There is really nothing that sets it apart from other nail shops except for they do a french manicure silk wrap that lasts about 5 days and doesn't mess up your nails. LOVE LOVE LOVE this place. My best friend and I were on a mission for a few months in a row - a mission to find the best place to get a mani/pedi. We tried over 20 different places in the surrounding area and nowhere compared to Apple Nails and ABSOLUTELY NO ONE compares to Heidi. I have a problem with ingrown toenails...partly because I got my dads feet and my doctor says wearing pointy heels for work every day doesn't help either. Anyways, I always judge a nail tech on how well they clean my cuticles and how much they prevent my in-growns from coming in. I don't know how I ended up with Heidi when I came in once. I'd seen Yvonne and someone else before but fate had it that Heidi would be free one day and she would be my nail tech. One thing that makes such a big difference with Heidi is that she takes her time. It almost seems like she's anal about things because there have been many times where she'll do something to only redo it because she's not happy with it. That is a hard thing to find with nail techs because most of the time their priority is quantity not quality. But even though it was my first time with Heidi, she treated me like a long time customer. And as I started going to Heidi more frequently, it was evident that no one would ever compare to her. She was always honest with me - whether it was about a color I chose that didn't look good on my skin tone; to a service (ie callous removal) that could wait another few weeks; or a design that was too gawdy. Again, another trait you will almost never find in a nail tech. So I don't know so much if it's Apple Nails or if it's Heidi that I'm really reviewing but when it comes to the actual salon, I like the fact that it's very clean, they have a good array of color choices, different packages (get the spa pedicure deluxe and you'll never go back) and really warm people working there. And the big comfy massage chairs always work...that's always a plus. Go to Apple Nails and Heidi and you're stuck there. I live in Huntington Beach but travel all the way to Cypress just to get my nails done. It's worth it because I'm always satisfied with the end result. :) read more

The first time I went here I got acrylics for my high school winter formal or prom or something or other.....I went with a friend and a few days later one of her nails became infected because there was some bacteria on the nails they gave her. Ever since then, I've avoided this place. A lot of my friends like to go here because it's so close and I finally decided the other day when my sister suggested that we go that maybe years later they had shaped up. I was wrong. They need both more chairs and workers. I was a little annoyed that I couldn't sit next to my sister when they seated me. I only had one lady do my manicure and pedicure and boy, she was horrible. The main reason I wanted to get my nails done was cause my feet needed some serious treatment. Expecting her to offer the hot wax treatment or callous remover, I glanced away for one second and when I looked back she was already applying nail polish to my nails -_-. Whatever...based on the horrible job she did I'm not exactly sure I'd want her to attempt at any treatments. My fingernails look like I did them (and I suck), she did a bad job with my cuticles- they're all uneven and ragged and look worse than when I first came in, and she made one of my fingers bleed from being so careless. I think that maybe it had to do with being understaffed and not enough chairs and my lady was probably hurrying to get someone else in my chair. I wish I had the name of the lady who was doing my nails, but they don't wear name tags. Must realize they probably don't want people remembering their names. Hah. My friend and I shared girl time @ this nail salon. The place is in a strip mall in Cypress and easy to find. They had about maybe 8-10 spa pedicure chairs on one side and nail desks on the other side. It was a bit crowded when we went (we went on Labor Day when everyone was off work), but were greeted and treated courteously. They had lots of magazines to read and fair selection of nail polish to choose from, including OPI. The lady that did my pedicure took her time and I felt she did a very good job! For extra $5 bucks she did my heels (wrapped it in plastic with lotion and scrubbed for probably 3 minutes) and it was nice and smooth. Think my pedicure plus callus removal came out to $23 dollars. Fairly reasonable considering it was spa pedicure. I think I found my new regular pedicure place :) read more
