I drive all the way from Santa Monica to get my nails done by Mai. That alone should say enough about how satisfied I am with A&B Nails. I was introduced to gel extensions when I was up in the Valley, and was in dire need of a refill. Unfortunately, the nail salon I go to next to my house doesn't offer that service. I was in the Los Al area and saw that A&B offers it so I took a chance and don't regret it. Mai is extremely professional, yet is very personable and genuinely cares about her clients. She's detail oriented and always does an amazing job with my nails. I always leave happy! I also love how flexible she is - any time I need a last minute appointment, she always makes time for me AND is always on time. She's also really creative and talented - any time I want a specific design on Pinterest I just show her and next thing I know my nails looks exactly like how I want them. 5 out of 5 stars for Mai and her crew. 5 Stars We celebrated my daughter's 6th birthday at A&B Nails, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about the experience! The salon was immaculately clean, the atmosphere was welcoming and beautifully set up, and the entire staff went above and beyond to make the day special. We had a party of seven kindergartners along with their parents, and every single person left happy and impressed. The nail technicians were incredibly patient and kind, taking their time with each child and even re-touching polish when the little ones smudged their nails (because we all know sitting still at age six is a challenge!). Their grace and attentiveness did not go unnoticed. A&B Nails truly allowed their space to be transformed into something so sweet, special, and memorable--it was the perfect backdrop for our celebration. So sad to say that this shop is not what it used to be... There was an older man - who I believe is the new owner and is very and EXTREMELY RUDE... Rude by, when I asked nicely of something he started to Speak in his language, yelling and then when he was he was servicing someone else, he would make passive aggressive comments.. I really wanted to love this place because the staff were genuinely so kind and welcoming. Unfortunately, the quality of the nail work just didn't match the level of service. My nails turned out poorly -- uneven shaping, sloppy polish application, and they started chipping way too soon after my appointment. It was disappointing, especially given how sweet and attentive everyone was. I appreciate their friendliness, but I probably wouldn't return unless the quality of the actual nail work improves. I called to let them know I wanted a refund, however they said that I come in for them to fix it. I don't want them fixed I want my money back. I wanted to love this place considering how nice the staff was being, but the service was not the standard I was hoping for. This was our first and LAST time here. I showed the lady what I had wanted (top photo) and bottom is what I got. I wore my engagement ring (unknowingly cause I'm newly engaged), the way she was filing so close and rough towards my ring and not considering I had jewelry on should have been the first red flag. I didn't feel comfortable to the point where I gave my ring to the person I was with cause the staff was so rough. Second was there were a few times the lady cut not only my skin, but the person who I brought with me. When a person retracts their hand cause it's painful you would want to take caution of how you proceed moving forward. Even though I showed her what I wanted she originally didn't shape my nails until I kept insisting and at the last moment when they added the iridescent color they changed it from the white glossy color to the pink which made the color look more dull. I was fine with the original color cause had I known it would be an additional $10 for the iridescent coating I wouldn't have done it. Wasn't worth it. I wouldn't recommend anyone coming here especially for what we paid. Unsatisfied and now have to live with these expensive nails. read more

Not sure how or why my original comment was deleted. Please use caution with this place. The original ladies Lin and Julie were great. I have had my nails done by 3 new people since the new owners took over. My dip used to last 4-6 weeks. Now after a few day it stays lifting. I have had 2 new guys and one girl work on my nails over a couple of visits. My daughter gets her nails dipped as well. I always have her done by the original ladies. And her nails are PERFECT, beautiful, and last long as normal. The last visit, the guy cut really deep into my nails as he was taking off the dip. The dip is lifting after only a few days and is ripping my poor nails away with it. My nails and finger tips are painful to the touch. I've never had such a bad experience. I will only go back if Lin is working. She is amazing. Your nails will be beautiful and will last long... and no pain! read more

So I recently relocated back to the area after a few years and have never had the best luck finding a nail salon in Los Al. I stumbled across this shop on my Yelp search and decided to give them a try after looking at the pics and reading the reviews. The shop is well taken care of and nicely set up and the staff is super friendly. They don't force any service down your throat and just want you to be happy. I got a full set and a gel pedicure. Now I'm a very picky person when it comes to my nails (from shape, to style to length, you name it); John was very professional and took it all in stride. He followed my design request to a T and checked in with me throughout the process to make sure I was satisfied. The woman who did my pedicure (I think her name was Lynn?) was super sweet and did a good job as well. But John took the cake and I definitely will be returning in two weeks for a fill! read more

I started going to John when he was at a shop in Carson and I followed him to A&B nails. The drive is worth it. He always delivers anything special I ask for. All I have to do is show him a picture and he gets it exact. Pictures posted are of what I got off of Pinterest and how my nails ended up. Perfectly done by John. They have hand sanitizer right by the entrance and a digital check in screen which makes things feel organized and easy. The TVs were playing Indian music videos which adds a little personality without trying too hard. For eyebrow threading, they seat you in one of the four chairs in the main area. They do have private rooms for services like waxing, facials, and henna, but brows happen right out front. As soon as I sat down, she started the service. I would have appreciated a quick check in about how I like my brows shaped, but she was gentle, took her time, and the end result was totally fine. Not life changing, not disappointing, just exactly what I needed for a clean up. The price matches the experience which I appreciate because it is affordable and predictable. This is not a spa style brow experience. Nobody is offering tea or turning down the lights. This is the kind of place where you can get your brows done quickly, affordably, and be back in your car in ten minutes. And sometimes that is the perfect mood.

They exfoliated my skin, did red light therapy, and several other treatments (I honestly had my eyes closed most of the time because I was so relaxed!). Nancy did an incredible job with the extractions and really took the time to remove a lot of my blackheads. My skin feels incredibly smooth, looks so much more even, and has such a healthy glow. I absolutely love this place , this salon is beautiful, clean , and a great environment with friendly staff. John has done my nails for about a year and I must say he is amazing I never leave unhappy with my nails and I am always doing new designs and rhinestones and different shapes my nails will last 4 weeks without a missing rhinestone or flaw. The staff also is very talented I've watched them while getting my nails done. Happy to call it my new nail shop. read more

My manicures with Olena have been incredibly durable. I wash my hands a lot and am hard on my nails, but I've had no lifting whatsoever, and my Russian manicures routinely last 6+ weeks while still looking great. My nails naturally curve downward as they grow longer, but Olena does an excellent job shaping and applying hard gel on them so they look balanced and don't develop that downward bend. She's also incredibly detail oriented and efficient with her hard gel application and cuticle detailing, which makes my manicures look clean, polished, and long lasting. Her combination of precision and efficiency is one of the main reasons I go to see her whenever I'm back home in LA. The only con is that the salon is fairly small with only 2 manicure stations and 1 pedicure station. As her popularity continues to grow, I imagine appointments may become harder to book.
