This was my first time going to this nail shop. I read the reviews from YELP and eagerly went to the nail shop today for an overdue pedicure. It had been six weeks since my last pedicure! I drive all the way from Santa Monica to get my nails done by Mai. That alone should say enough about how satisfied I am with A&B Nails. I was introduced to gel extensions when I was up in the Valley, and was in dire need of a refill. Unfortunately, the nail salon I go to next to my house doesn't offer that service. I was in the Los Al area and saw that A&B offers it so I took a chance and don't regret it. Mai is extremely professional, yet is very personable and genuinely cares about her clients. She's detail oriented and always does an amazing job with my nails. I always leave happy! I also love how flexible she is - any time I need a last minute appointment, she always makes time for me AND is always on time. She's also really creative and talented - any time I want a specific design on Pinterest I just show her and next thing I know my nails looks exactly like how I want them. 5 out of 5 stars for Mai and her crew. I HIGHLY recommend her! read more

First time coming here and I'll probably be back. It's been a long time since I had treated myself to a mani/pedi. I saw a post on FB about this place and decided to check them out. The place is clean and spacious. It was a Monday morning so I got seated right away and I appreciated the time the tech took and how I never felt like she was rushing or cutting corners. I left feeling relaxed and beautiful. I love my summer nails! read more

5 Stars We celebrated my daughter's 6th birthday at A&B Nails, and I cannot say enough wonderful things about the experience! The salon was immaculately clean, the atmosphere was welcoming and beautifully set up, and the entire staff went above and beyond to make the day special. We had a party of seven kindergartners along with their parents, and every single person left happy and impressed. The nail technicians were incredibly patient and kind, taking their time with each child and even re-touching polish when the little ones smudged their nails (because we all know sitting still at age six is a challenge!). Their grace and attentiveness did not go unnoticed. A&B Nails truly allowed their space to be transformed into something so sweet, special, and memorable--it was the perfect backdrop for our celebration. Thank you for your professionalism, care, and for making our daughter's birthday one we'll always remember! Highly recommend for both regular visits and special events! read more

So sad to say that this shop is not what it used to be... There was an older man - who I believe is the new owner and is very and EXTREMELY RUDE... Rude by, when I asked nicely of something he started to Speak in his language, yelling and then when he was he was servicing someone else, he would make passive aggressive comments.. I really wanted to love this place because the staff were genuinely so kind and welcoming. Unfortunately, the quality of the nail work just didn't match the level of service. My nails turned out poorly -- uneven shaping, sloppy polish application, and they started chipping way too soon after my appointment. It was disappointing, especially given how sweet and attentive everyone was. I appreciate their friendliness, but I probably wouldn't return unless the quality of the actual nail work improves. I called to let them know I wanted a refund, however they said that I come in for them to fix it. I don't want them fixed I want my money back. I would love to be contacted about this experience. read more

I wanted to love this place considering how nice the staff was being, but the service was not the standard I was hoping for. This was our first and LAST time here. I showed the lady what I had wanted (top photo) and bottom is what I got. I wore my engagement ring (unknowingly cause I'm newly engaged), the way she was filing so close and rough towards my ring and not considering I had jewelry on should have been the first red flag. I didn't feel comfortable to the point where I gave my ring to the person I was with cause the staff was so rough. Second was there were a few times the lady cut not only my skin, but the person who I brought with me. When a person retracts their hand cause it's painful you would want to take caution of how you proceed moving forward. Even though I showed her what I wanted she originally didn't shape my nails until I kept insisting and at the last moment when they added the iridescent color they changed it from the white glossy color to the pink which made the color look more dull. I was fine with the original color cause had I known it would be an additional $10 for the iridescent coating I wouldn't have done it. Wasn't worth it. I wouldn't recommend anyone coming here especially for what we paid. Unsatisfied and now have to live with these expensive nails. read more

Not sure how or why my original comment was deleted. Please use caution with this place. The original ladies Lin and Julie were great. I have had my nails done by 3 new people since the new owners took over. My dip used to last 4-6 weeks. Now after a few day it stays lifting. I have had 2 new guys and one girl work on my nails over a couple of visits. My daughter gets her nails dipped as well. I always have her done by the original ladies. And her nails are PERFECT, beautiful, and last long as normal. The last visit, the guy cut really deep into my nails as he was taking off the dip. The dip is lifting after only a few days and is ripping my poor nails away with it. My nails and finger tips are painful to the touch. I've never had such a bad experience. I will only go back if Lin is working. She is amazing. Your nails will be beautiful and will last long... and no pain! read more

So I recently relocated back to the area after a few years and have never had the best luck finding a nail salon in Los Al. I stumbled across this shop on my Yelp search and decided to give them a try after looking at the pics and reading the reviews. The shop is well taken care of and nicely set up and the staff is super friendly. They don't force any service down your throat and just want you to be happy. I got a full set and a gel pedicure. Now I'm a very picky person when it comes to my nails (from shape, to style to length, you name it); John was very professional and took it all in stride. He followed my design request to a T and checked in with me throughout the process to make sure I was satisfied. The woman who did my pedicure (I think her name was Lynn?) was super sweet and did a good job as well. But John took the cake and I definitely will be returning in two weeks for a fill! read more

They have hand sanitizer right by the entrance and a digital check in screen which makes things feel organized and easy. They do have private rooms for services like waxing, facials, and henna, but brows happen right out front. As soon as I sat down, she started the service. I would have appreciated a quick check in about how I like my brows shaped, but she was gentle, took her time, and the end result was totally fine. Not life changing, not disappointing, just exactly what I needed for a clean up. The price matches the experience which I appreciate because it is affordable and predictable. Despite booking in advance, they did not reserve seats near each other; my 6-year-old daughter was left to sit alone in a separate area, and we were scattered throughout the salon. It felt like our reservation meant nothing, as they appeared to prioritize walk-ins over those who planned ahead. The service itself was disappointing. My daughter's nail technician was unfriendly and completely disengaged, which is the last thing you want when trying to provide a child with a fun experience. While my technician seemed fine at the time, the quality of the manicure was poor, and the polish began chipping within just a few days. Most concerning, however, is that three days after my pedicure, I am dealing with a painful, throbbing, and inflamed infection on my big toe. I am currently unable to wear closed-toe shoes and am having to perform multiple Epsom salt soaks to try and manage the swelling. I contacted the salon to express these concerns, and while the manager has asked me to come in so she can examine the toe, I am wary of returning to a place that caused this injury in the first place. I wanted to share this so others are aware of the lack of professionalism and the potential health risks at this establishment.

I normally wouldn't write a review, but what happened today is worth mentioning…read more I went in for a fill and pedicure and had made an appointment with Hannah. She began filing my nails and then moved me to chair #2 so I could have my pedicure done at the same time. Because she was seated on my left side, it was difficult and uncomfortable for me to turn my right arm toward her. (If you know, you know. Lol.) Without ever asking if I was comfortable--which I wasn't--she repeatedly pulled and twisted my arm into position, at least four times, sternly telling me, "Relax!" I genuinely tried to accommodate her by turning my entire body toward her, but apparently that still wasn't enough. Meanwhile, sweet Nancy was doing my pedicure and was very kind. When Hannah finished my nails, she looked at me and said, "I'll never do your nails again. Never. I can't do your nails over here. Next time you come, sit over there. Never. Never again." Whoa... what? Wait. I was honestly stunned. It wasn't just what she said, but the harsh and unkind way she spoke to me. I felt like I was being scolded and treated as though I had done something wrong, when all I had done was struggle with an uncomfortable seating position while trying my best to accommodate her. While Nancy was still doing my toes, I calmly said, "Hannah, I love my nails, but sitting over here was really uncomfortable for me. It was hard for me to turn my arm that way." She then stormed off. As if the experience couldn't get any stranger, just minutes later the attendant giving a pedicure to the customer next to me unscrewed something to drain the water, and suddenly water started spraying everywhere like a geyser! It continued spraying until I, the customer, and the woman next to her were drenched. The attendant eventually got it under control, but by that point, all I could think was... so much for my mental health day. I came in hoping to relax and enjoy a little self-care. Instead, I left feeling disrespected, embarrassed, and completely unwelcome. No customer should be spoken to the way I was, especially when I had done nothing more than struggle with an uncomfortable seating position while trying my best to accommodate the nail technician. My nails looked beautiful. Unfortunately, the way I was treated did not.

It was a quiet time, with just me and the staff present. Overall, the experience was pretty standard. I'm sharing some pictures, one from the day of my appointment (Sunday) and more from four days later (Thursday). My nails are already looking quite grown out, even though it's not been a full week.
