I came into the Apple store located in the Altamonte Mall to get my iPhone 6 Plus battery fixed. I did make an appointment for my replacement online (which is super easy to do) and when I showed up, I was immediately greeted by the floor team. One thing that I cannot get over is the fact that THREE separate employees randomly complimented me. Out of absolutely nowhere. I cannot begin to tell you how much that touched my heart. I was having super bad anxiety while being in a store jam packed full of people, and those three random employees made me feel so wonderful, and all of my anxiety melted away. It just moved me enough that I wanted to write about my experience and how thankful I am. I was on my way out in about an hour with a new battery in my phone and a smile on my face. A plus service all day, every day. Personally I can say I have never had a bad experience at the Apple Store. They are organized, informed, attentive and friendly. Today I went in to have my battery changed for poor performance. They added me to the waitlist as soon as I walked in and they texted me when it was my turn. So you are free to browse around or walk around the mall. They checked my phone, gave me a price and time of return. Picked it up at the time they said ( love it ) so no waiting around, payed and was on my way with a brand new battery and working phone. Accessories can be a bit pricey here compared to online or Amazon but sometimes you get what you pay for. The store is always full of people but they balance it well. read more

My husband needed a new Apple Watch. I ordered it online and we picked it up at this store. We were EXTREMELY fortunate to have a young lady named Khari help us. Instead of just handing us the watch, she proceeded to help us with the setup. Because he had not updated his software on his phone ( we both thought we were on automatic updates ‍), it was a BIG, time consuming job. Khari was patient, knowledgeable and so sweet!! Quite possibly the worst customer service I've ever received. The only positive part of my experience was that I was able to walk in and receive an appointment with a 1 1/2hr wait time (the online bookings for the Genius Bar were full for about a week out and I needed to have my Macbook battery replaced *that* day, so I was ecstatic.) However, things seemed to trickle downhill from that point onward. I received an alert to check in for my appointment, but the check-in line was so long, my appointment had been cancelled "due to inactivity" ONE MINUTE prior to me reaching the front of the line. The girl handling check-ins told me that I'd still be able to keep my appointment (although I watched her reschedule me for a new one) and insisted that I would be seen by a Genius specialist immediately, which was false. I waited at the Genius Bar for nearly 40 minutes as two other customers (who had arrived after me) were fully serviced. Jeff, my specialist, then received my laptop and was able to schedule my repairs quite promptly. He told me that I would be receiving a courtesy call to retrieve my laptop and pay for the replacement battery around 7:30PM (it was on a Sunday & they were closing at 8PM.) I waited for said courtesy call, but I never received it. Finally, at 8:15PM, I took it upon myself to call in and check on the status of my repairs. Another associate checked the queue, informed me that my repairs had been completed some time ago, and stated that I would be able to pick up my device immediately. Had I not taken the initiative to call the store myself, my laptop would've sat on the shelves well past closing time and I would've completely missed my project deadlines. It's safe to say that I'll be better off seeking the help of a different Apple retailer in the future, because the in-store customer service at the Altamonte Mall location is nonexistent. read more

Think of all your complaints regarding Apple in general. This store embodies most of them. Overpriced? Check. Form over function? Check. Overly complicated repairs? Check. An unabashed ego? Check. After New Years weekend, I came into my home office Monday Morning to find that my iMac was frozen. When I rebooted, I got the dreaded "flashing question mark folder icon". After following all the troubleshooting steps suggested by Apple, nothing worked and I was left with no other recourse but to take it into Apple for repair. (If it was a PC, I could have just swapped the hard drive myself, but no - not with an iMac). The Millenia and Altamonte locations are about equidistant from my house, but Altamonte had earlier appointments available at the Genius Bar, so I chose to go there. I arrived a bit early and checked in with the guy trying to keep order towards the back of the store. While I awaited my turn, I looked around and noticed a few things. First, at this location, it seems to be a requirement that all male employees MUST have facial hair. Scruffy is acceptable, neckbeards are highly encouraged. Second, while this place obviously wasn't really focused on making sales, they make it incredibly difficult to make a purchase. There is no definite waiting line and no indication of who/where the cashier is. There is no cash register, so you have to be directed to the one laptop at the Genius Bar with a credit card machine (yes, the cashier shares the counter with the Genius Bar and is generally indistinguishable from them). Without being told, you'll never figure out who you need to speak to. I awaited my turn, listening to the Geniuses call out people's names. There is no loud speaker, no numbers, no name in lights to attract attention (even though there are two giant lcd monitors right behind them). You're meant to stand and wait right near the genius bar - as inconvenient as that may be due to crowds. The people I dealt with that day were pleasant and efficient enough. The Genius confirmed the problem with my computer and set me up for a repair. As I suspected, I had to have my hard drive replaced. They had the part in stock, but it had to be done by the repair team in the back. According to him, there were only three people ahead of me, so I may be able to get my computer back as soon as the next day, but there was officially a 1-3 day turnaround expectation. Thursday was day three. No word from Apple. Friday. Day four, still no word. I called to ask what was going on. After being transferred a few times, I reached someone in the "Genius Room". I was "scheduled to be on the bench for repair that evening". I pressed the issue and learned that repairs/services that can be done quickly are done immediately - things like drive restores, backups, software upgrades, etc. Everything else - stuff like hard drive replacements - those were put off until the last hour before closing. So, they were just too busy doing everyone else's quick repairs to do mine. I received no apology for the fact that as far as they knew, I was without a computer for an entire work week and unable to get any work done because they could not manage their work load properly. Finally, they called Sunday afternoon to let me know that I could finally give them their $180 for a 500gb hard drive + $40 for labor and bring my iMac home. I don't know if all Apple stores operate and handle repairs like this, but it's ridiculous. What should/could have been a simple, albeit expensive repair turned into an experience bad enough to make me rethink ever buying another Apple product. read more

Two weeks ago I bought an iPhone 4s. Yesterday I bought a MacBook Pro. I have been living in this place!! Headed there now as a matter of fact. I bought the $99 a year unlimited training on my Macbook Pro, as I have made the decision to go Mac and not look back. I simply love this place. Just simply love it. As a non-geek, I love this store because it has plenty of geniuses that can fix my problems and not make me feel like an idiot while doing it. While the geniuses might rightly think I'm an unsavvy phone and computer owner, a flicker of these thoughts never reaches their outward expression (e.g., no rolled eyes or stern frowns) and is never voiced via sighs, laughing or comments. I am treated with much kindness even when the genius must explain the simplest things, which aren't so simple to me and even when they must walk me through simple instructions step by step. I appreciate that the geniuses are solutions oriented. They understand, when informed that I live an hour away, that popping back and forth isn't easy and find a way to make the fix happen. For example, my iOS was outdated and had to be forced to update. The genius was concerned that my data (my pictures especially mean a lot to me) was not backed up, and if something went unexpectedly wrong, the pictures might be lost. Since what I needed to back up was over my iCloud free storage limit and I didn't want to pay for more space, the genius found a way to back up my phone without my going back home, and then he showed me how to do it. The genius helped other clients while my phone was backing up to keep the client line moving, but he sat his other clients near me so he could check on me and my progress and answer any questions. Making an appointment in advance is ideal, but my stuff rarely malfunctions at times which have available appointments and often choose to malfunction when the devices are needed urgently. This means waiting at the store for an available genius. Luckily, one can check-in for an ad how appointment and then go do something else because the Apple store will text shortly before the genius is ready. This allows time to get back to the store. Therefore, I could get some retail therapy and stress eating in while waiting an hour for genius help. In addition to clothing, shoe, and handbag stores; this mall has a Barnes & Noble, complete with Starbucks. Caffeine is just what I need when irritated at my inanimate objects - not! Seriously, magazines and books help pass time while munching! At least, I felt slightly better after some retail therapy, if still frustrated by the device and the timing of its malfunction. Of note, this Apple store usually has a line even before the store opens in the morning for customers with and without appointments. Additionally, don't arrive just before store closing without an existing appointment; they might not have time to get to you. read more

Spoke to a few people on the phone about replacing the screen of my phone. Went here to fix the phone. They promised they'd replace the screen, which was cracked, and the battery. I waited an hour in the mall and returned to find they wanted to charge me to replace the whole phone. They said they couldn't get the screen off. Took it to another Apple Store and within that hour they had both of the promised items replaced. I'd hate to say it because I've been an Apple fan for a while but this store not only failed in customer service, but overall pushes shady business practices. I'd beware. This was one of the worst customer experiences I have had at any retailer. David "the manager" was extremely condescending and belittling. When I asked if he was the only David who worked at this store he said yes. I guess he didn't think I could here the employee next to him when he was corrected that other David's worked at this store. He told the other employee I am the only David that is a manager. To which the other employee responded "well yes if he happens to reference your title." "If not well"... I came into the store with an appointment that was scheduled after I called into Apple Support. Apple Support said my phone serial number qualified for a free battery replacement When the store entered my serial number in it switched me out of one program and into one that costs money. David the Manager's explanation was that battery's are like tire's they wear down. Well my issue is a known issue that "Apple has determined that a very small number of iPhone 6s devices may unexpectedly shut down" and that Apple confirmed my phone's serial number is one that is affected by this production issue. Outside of making him feel good for talking down to a customer I'm not sure why he thinks that's a good analogy in this situation. I feel bad for any other David's that have fielded unwarranted customer complaints arising from the manager not telling the truth and ensuring customers know to include his title when giving feedback. Maybe I caught him on a bad day but the damage he did to the Apple brand in my view was significant. read more

The store is always busy . And regardless whether you have an appointment you will still have to wait . I have tried going there with appointment and I still waited about 35 minutes. I tried walking in where I have to come back later in the day. My last time being there was two days ago, I showed up in the morning without an appointment due to my phone having issues and I was told not to leave the Mall because I will be called in an hour or less, fast forward I received again a text to comeback at the store and checked in, but it took another 35 minutes before somebody finally assisted me. An hour and 15 minutes later, the issue is still unresolved and I left the store. Although they tried to help me, I believe that they can do better at managing people and probably need to hire more employee. read more

I purchased an iPhone a few months ago and have never looked back. I now understand the loyalty associated with people who live the Apple life. I did not plan to purchase another Apple product so quickly,but found myself in a bit of a pinch when my laptop started acting up. I talked myself into buying an iPad. It was really an easy decision. The online method is what I chose with the store pick up option. I thought it would be easier, quicker, and safer to just pick it up at the store instead of waiting for mail. An email was sent in approximately an hour of my order, and everything went smoothly for pick up. The Apple crew was very helpful in getting my iPad set up, and with answering all of the questions I had. Tremendous service for tremendous products. read more

Great product. Great iPhone repair experience. First time in an Apple store to get my iPhone 5 repaired. First of all you MUST make an appointment at the "Genius Bar" to get anything repaired. Once you arrive the store's wireless system sense that you are there and asks you if you would like to "check in." Once you check in you are in a virtual line. AT you appointed time an Apple employee looks for you and begins to resolve your problem. A way cool experience. read more

This is the smallest Apple Store in central Florida but for that reason it's great for setting up a genius appointment. It's quick and easy to get in and out of compared to the other two malls. I was able to get seen quickly and have my issue resolved quickly. Definitely will come back if I need to see a genius in short notice. read more

No one cares about your business! My insurance company won't replace my phone because it says is a guarantee issue. I agreed, the issue w apple is that even if both white strips to detect water inside are still white is enough evidence that water "wasn't there". He showed me a screw! And said, is dark so that means water "was" there. Fine, but how water got there then? According to them the "seals" are still good so if water got inside was trough "other access ways" by " water submersion" for too long. Never have I done that! Apple is NOT what is used to! This 5-star review is specifically directed towards an employee named Justin (not me). Today, we went to the Altamonte Apple store for a scheduled battery replacement. Considering that I had scheduled the replacement specifically for my phone model, I would expect that the store would have made the preparation of ensuring that they had the appropriate battery on hand. Unfortunately, they did not, and were out of stock of the needed battery. Because of this, I didn't react as calmly as I should have. In the face of adversity (caused by me), Justin kept his cool and went out of his way to ensure that we were able to get set up at a different Apple store which had the battery in stock. We were ultimately able to get the service completed later that day, thanks to Justin. So, anyways, sorry Justin! You are a saint for putting up with my crap! Apple, you get one star. You need to get some basic pipelining in place for things like this. If a customer schedules a Genius Bar reservation for an iPhone SE battery replacement a week in advance, maybe you should consider ensuring that you have a few iPhone SE batteries in stock. read more

I am taking this out on an Apple Store. WHY IN THE BLEEP DID APPLE GET RID OF THE HEADPHONE JACK!!! I did not want to upgrade because I was happy with my Iphone 5 but my girlfriend insisted and insisted on exchanging it for a newer one. I finally relented because it was getting a bit slow and have been miserable with it ever since. I have also discovered that Apple intentionally slowed down the phone to encourage an upgrade. I have to constantly adjust the brightness, can not charge and listen to the music at the same time anymore. read more

I purchased what is probably my 5th iPhone about 8 months ago and the sleep/power button on the top stopped working. I made an appointment, went in, and was greeted promptly by an associate. He checked me in and told me that someone would be with me right at 8:30. Ben greeted me shortly afterwards. I was issued a new phone-I really wanted them to just fix my old one, but they told me they couldn't and that it would have to be sent back to Apple. I was given a new phone because mine was still under warranty. I was sort of upset about it, but Ben was very informative and extremely patient as I asked him probably 70+ questions. He transferred all of my contacts, notes, and even synced my emails for me. All in all, I had an incredible experience and I am taking my iMac and Macbook back to the store to have it serviced next week. I was surprised to get on here and see negative reviews. Yes, the store was busy. That should give you an indication that they sell a great product and provide great service-otherwise people wouldn't be in there. Possibly the worst customer service I have ever received. After being sat down, I waited over an hour before any employee even decided to ask if someone had helped me. When I told him I was told a technician was still supposed to come help me, I was informed that somehow I was left out of the check-in waiting list. The technician finally sent to me was rude, unknowledgeable, and seemingly arrogant. The whole store was full of exhausted, helpless customers sitting at tables surrounded by gossiping, unhelpful employees. I overheard complaints of other customers having their wait times pushed back another hour or being completely excluded like I was. No wonder whenever I told people I was going to the Apple Store I was met with a sympathetic grimace. read more

Made an appointment this Sunday 8/8/11 at the Apple store in Altamonte being that it is closer to where live. I have never been to that store and usually will make the trek out to Millennia. With that said, I had an 11AM appointment and was there early. 11AM rolls around and my name is called. "Ron" is the genius that was assigned to take care of me. I've had a dead computer for the last five days. I told him this and my other concern about the battery. He hooked my computer up to one at the Genius Bar to do some diagnostic. Everything checked out clear. According to Ron, everything was fine and I really had no reason to bring my computer in. Like I mentioned before my computer had been dead for FIVE days. I have a brain thank you and understand how to use it, also I know how to turn on and charge a computer?!?!? I told him numerous times that I understood that he was able to turn the computer on. I have used every outlet in my house and there is a disconnect between the AC adapter and the computer. Thats why its been dead for five days! Thats why I made an appointment! I requested a new AC adapter and he at first was very unwilling to replace it. I believe he said something along the lines of "I'm not going to take your word for it, if I did every customer would get whatever they wanted." This isn't something I care to hear when I've not been able to get the computer to turn ON IN FIVE DAYS. Luckily I took it upon myself to unplug and replug in the adapter to show this GENIUS that it isn't working. The adapter had malfunctioned. I had Apple Care on this computer and I don't think it was unreasonable to expect for them to switch it out. That's what its for, thats why I paid an additional amount above just buying the computer. Throughout the whole exchange between Ron and myself, he took it upon himself to do the least amount of talking towards me and to also at the same time (totally crazy) be the most obnoxious person in the whole store. I'm sitting there with concerns and questions and he's bullshitting with his coworkers and putting on some "cool guy" act. Keep the socializing to after work, I have a $1200 piece of aluminum that wont turn on and I'd appreciate some of your attention being used on it. I personally will never recommend the Apple altamonte store to anyone I know or ever meet in the future. I hope that Apple corporate in the not so distant future spends some time and money on customer service training. Go to Millennia, don't waste your time or your money here. read more

I remember the days where you went to an Apple Store and it was easy to get around and sit at the Genius Bar as part of a prearranged appointment. This place seems to be popular for the area and people go to the store to hangout and not buy anything. So I checked in and was told to sit at the Genius Bar, a family was taking up all the chairs and it was just chaos. There was no sign showing who was next and everyone was just so busy to say we will be right with you. I wish Apple had a different system for customer service. Apple products are great, I mean I have an IPhone, Macbook, and an IPad, so if that doesn't tell you that I like the company, then I don't know what will :P This store, well any apple store in general is always packed and looks crazy inside. But luckily the staff members have been friendly, attentive, and quick to assist me in whatever I need. Book your appointments online for any issues you have with your product, and then check in with staff once you enter the store. I had brought my laptop in to have it fixed and I was immediately directed to someone from the genius bar to help figure out what was wrong and what exactly needed to be fixed. They explain everything to you and if it needs to be shipped to the actual manufacturer they are pretty quick to have it shipped back and ready for you within 3-5 business days. This store provides the worst service I have ever experienced in any type of business. Brought my iPhone 7 in to be repaired for a glitch that iPhone 7 has. Quoted 3 to 5 business day return time 14 days I'm still waiting no one seems to be able to tell me when my phone is. They lied when they told me 3 to 5 days return time and that they would issue me a new phone because of this problem iPhone sevens have, A LIE! They would not issue me a loaner because they were all out. LIE! I believe they lost my phone or failed to send it to the service center. After numerous phone calls, a total over 2 1/2 hours of phone calls, numerous emails to support center. Then when we spoke with An operator name Daniel because the manager was too busy on the floor to talk with us. He more or less said too bad nothing we can do here. I had to wait one week to get an appointment at the store now another 14 days of no phone. And Apple could care less and Altamonte Springs Apple Store cares even less than that. Because of the store I will never on an Apple product android for me. If I ever get the phone which cost me $850 one year ago I will pull a Hillary Clinton and smash it with a hammer, since it's good for nothing. If this Apple store would have a little customer service, a little common sense, a little politeness, a little I give a shit I might not be so bitter about Apple. The fact is Apple is so big, they don't care about us the regular people, so the local stores follow suit and they don't care about customer either. read more

The battery in my IPhone 6 just wouldn't hold a charge for more than a day. Called the Apple store in Altamonte Springs to make an appointment. Very easy, can book 1 week out. Went to the store got right in "this is great I'm thinking ". To my disappointment the tech wouldn't replace the battery. I was in England 2 years ago and had a battery problem and had to have it replaced. Because the battery wasn't genuine Apple they refused to work on my phone. Disappointed that they let me hag, let that be a lesson to other Apple users. I had no choice being out of the country (and a small city) for the repair. If you do have a choice, find an Apple store. read more

I bought my iPad at Best Buy and I haven't needed anything fixed yet, so I haven't had to have any dealings with the genius bar. But every time I'm in the Altamonte Mall, I make sure to stop in the Apple Store. Who cares if it can be a little pretentious...it's the Apple Store. It's fun and it's impossible to pass by when walking around the mall. That's good enough for me. Just as a caveat, once I need something repaired or maybe once iPhone 5 comes out, I may redo this review. For now though, the Apple Store is my grown-up jungle gym. read more

I purchased Christmas items from Apple online. I planned for them to be delivered to my house within two hours....waited for two hours then I was texting from post mates saying that they cannot enter my neighborhood gate....when I tried to reply to the text message it would not deliver it was basically like a computer automated message that didn't have an actual line that I could contact. I then contacted Postmates which told me because I didn't have the order under my account there was nothing that they could do because this issue is with Apple and I should contact Apple. Which I called the altamonte mall location and proceeded to stay on the phone with Apple for 40 minutes only for them to tell me that my package was returned to the store. When I called the store to see if I could pick it up they informed me that the entire order was canceled however my account was still charged and the money was removed from my bank account which they told me that's not something that they could access to know when I would be credited for the amount so my only option would be to re-order all the things that I had ordered and pay for them and then pick them up from the store. I was also told that this is a corporate decision so basically my complaint doesn't matter. read more
