I contacted 2 places when my laptop screen cracked. Both places made excuses, checked nothing about what computer I had, got no computer information from me or about my screen, just told me I was looking at 1-2 weeks. Then I spoke with Jarrod at CodeBlackIT. Told me he could give me a better idea, if I provided him with computer information. He found a screen, overnighted it, and installed it in 3 days. He also told me if I had a multi screen set up, I could still use my computer, just not the laptop screen. CodeBlackIT and Shawn were great! I took my 8 year old iMac in and got a quote to fix the logic board, but when they opened it up, they saw there was more damaged so Shawn called me to see if I wanted to continue or not (given the age of the computer and cost to fix everything). We decided against it and instead just had the data backed up. They only charged for the backup and were able to return the new part, with no charge for the diagnostic or opening the computer. Shawn even left my old drives out in case I wanted to do anything with them in the future. I would definitely use Shawn again (but hopefully I won't have to anytime soon) and would totally recommend to anyone needing help with their computer. I have used many Computer repairs services in the past. Code Black is the worst I have ever used. Its the owner that is difficult and perhaps in denial with honest comments. They couldn't figure out what an Ethernet cable was used for and lack basic understanding of service....The communication was horrible! I feel the owner cares only about the money and invests little time and effort in providing good service. We will never use this service, there are so many more options that are better. read more

My power plug on my computer stopped charging my battery. I took it into laptops plus and he said yeah it's a normal thing happens all the time and it would be like 120 bucks He wasn't sure of the turnaround time because he had to order the part I told them to go ahead and overnight the pardon charge me to difference in the shipping cost so that I can get it quicker. Because it's a laptop I use for work and I needed it back by next week He called me the next morning and it already fixed it and it was all done. I did not know how they stayed in business. Prime real estate in winter park business district and a receptionist. I had a laptop that was running slow and crashing daily. I was losing about an hour a day trying to fix it myself. After weeks, I figured this was not an efficient use of my office time, so I took it to them in the afternoon, wondering if I should just buy another one to save money. It was fixed the next morning. It was a flat $70 service charge. Fixed the crash problem and made it run fast. I wondered how they stayed in business for just $70 flat service charge, but he has a steady stream of business clients who use them instead of having their own tech guy on staff. They get business clients because they do not force the business to upgrade to what is new. I talked to a very friendly tech guy there, Shawn?, who told me that about 25% of his business clients are still running XP. He said, if its not broke, why fix it? They have repair parts which they sell at retail prices without the usual 100% markup somehow. They do not sell computers, unlike most shops, who don't know how to fix a computer for you, but do know how to sell you a computer. My dad was crippling along with a computer that took more than a half hour to boot up. I suggested he take it to them. He finally gave up and went, wanting to know if they would let him know the repair cost first. He got lunch on the way back, and the call was waiting for him that it was fixed. Something like a $20 part and the flat service charge. My dad was convinced. Big time saver now to take it to them. I wish someone had convinced me earlier. read more

I spoke to the owner earlier in the week and he assured me that he would meet with me on Friday to repair my laptop. I even called right beforehand to make sure that he would be in.II showed up and he was not in. However he called me first day and Monday morning apologized and had me come in right away. My logic board crashed on my 15" Macbook Pro 2011 edition (common these days if you bought a Mac that year.) I also needed my cracked screen replaced and the fans as well (I've had my Macbook for 3 years and never cleaned it..) Shawn repaired my laptop and answered my basic maintenance questions and showed me how easy it was to get the dust out myself. I spent around a grand, but the computer itself was like $2800 (everyone's like, why don't you just buy a new one? LOL), and I was just happy getting MY computer back, with a perfect screen and quiet fans. The actual labor price is very affordable, it's just the Mac parts I was mostly paying for. I just got got off the phone with Shawn, who fixed my laptop and second monitor situation by plugging into my system remotely. It was fixed within seconds! I LOVE this place! I have brought each of my children's laptops there on occasion and they were each fixed in a timely and reasonable manner. I brought my laptop in thinking I burnt out my graphics card. I paid to have the diagnostic test and left it there with them. They called back a few hours later telling me it was my wall charger that was bad and there was nothing wrong with my computer. When I came back in they returned all my money without me even asking and said that they 'Didn't actually do any work to it'. This company is very honest and fair. I was not impressed. First of all, my hard drive crashed and I needed to recover at least some of my documents very quickly. They had it all day, charged me $100 and found nothing. Well I took it to someone else, and they were able to find the docs in about 2 hours. I know that when you pay there's no promise that they can recover the stuff. I just find it suspect that they had my computer for a full day and as soon as I took it to someone else, he was able to find the documents more quickly than they were. I exclusively use a laptop for work. I carried it to my car 3 of 4 times a day, and carry it in and out my house or office the same number of times a day. I am very demanding on my computers and often find myself carrying them without case or protection. I have dropped them onto asphalt from my car seat, slid it off the desk and dropped it off my bed. Despite the fact my work depends on my ability to use the computer daily, I generally am fairly careless in my handling of a tool which is essential for my work. I cannot work if my laptop is down. Despite my need I have found myself with computer problems several times since I have failed to repent from my computer sins. As a result I have found myself limping into Laptop plus a few times suffering from my carelessness. The only place I go now is Laptop plus. I have been there on a few occasions over the past several years. They are knowledgeable and if you let them know how great the need is to get it fixed quickly they do there best to get it back to you in the same workday. The only delay I have had has been when a part had to be shipped in from another city. Like many service professionals they have a minimum charge for diagnosing the computer but they apply that charge to the repair work if you get the computer repaired. They are not cheap but they are reasonable. They have saved me several times, and the labor fee has never been more than $75.00 to 100.00 dollars and that has been when they had to diagnose a significant problem remove all data off of a hard drive, install the new hard drive and reinstall the data to the new hard drive. They have recovered my data numerous times. The last time just this week. I recommend Laptops Plus and the people who work there very highly, they are good people. read more

Not impressed. I simply called to ask about turnaround time as I had an emergency and would be leaving town. The gentleman who answered the phone simply said "No". He didn't even know what brand I had or try to contact distributor or anything, just a flat out "No" with no words after. If they can't be courteous or show interest in potential business then they certainly won't get it from me. If I were you I'd go to CFP or somewhere that actually makes an effort for you. read more
