I ordered the Massaman curry. AppeThai made it uniquely different than anywhere else I've had it. I didn't really think it was that good but it wasn't bad. However, the price was a bit higher and since it didn't taste as good as I was expecting, I don't plan on going back. Staff and everyone was really friendly and great service. read more

Perfect service with true Thai food entrees . Enjoyed the first step in the door to the last step out. Everything I ordered had the true flavor and spices from Thailand . Bang is back! Great new Thai restaurant opened in Brown Deer, at corner of Hwy 57 and Brown Deer Road. Beautiful understated decor. I had the Massamun beef - large chunks of tender meat and delicious sauce. I'll definitely be back. read more

What a great find, we just heard the former chef of Bang Thai in Mequon had opened a restaurant again and went for lunch at Appe Thai. We LOVE the food, it's absolutely delicious, the service was very good and we will definitely be back regularly for sit down and carry out. read more

Ordered food opening night to go. Arrived at the restaurant to a poor, frazzled hostess who passed on information the kitchen had left for us, that they weren't doing takeout that week, but could do us the favor this once. Huh? I was annoyed by the exchange, but chalked it up to first day glitches, and ran home so we could enjoy our feast. Prices were higher than our favorite Thai on the east side, but we would be happy to pay for quality Thai close to home. What we received however, was a hot mess. I'm not sure if they are trying to cater to more "western" tastes, or more "Wisconsin" tastes, but the food was inedible. Thai dishes should include: salty, sour, sweet, bitter, and umami flavors. Our dishes were bland and completely saccharine. Just sweet, sugary, syrupy messes. Pad Thai, yellow curry, spring rolls and pad prik all went in the trash. I'd like to try again for a different outcome, but I refuse to flush $50 down the toilet again. read more

We ordered the Yellow Curry, Pad Thai and Wontons. The wontons were probably the best and they were mediocre at best. This is NOT Thai curry, it totally smelled of Indian curry and tasted the same. Thai food has a sweeter curry and smells more aromatic. Originally being from CA and eating many places here in WI I know what Thai curry tastes like and this is definitely not it. We ordered soup, appetizers, and 2 entrees; and everything was excellent. The ingredients were so fresh, and we appreciated the variety of interesting vegetables in the curry and Volcano Chicken. In addition to the fresh ingredients the cuts of meat were so tender. We look forward to returning for many more meals! read more

Do you like to sit on stools while you eat? Then this place is for you. Do you like getting served a dish that doesn't match the menu description? Order the weeping tiger. Maybe we just had a bad experience on a crowded Saturday night with a stressed out waitress and a clueless hostess, but I don't think we'll be back any time soon. Very disappointing. read more

What a pleasant surprise in a rather ordinary strip mall location. Staff was very friendly and attentive, and the menu was large, well described and varied. Lots of fresh herbs (cilantro, lemongrass, basil, etc.) and very well-prepared dishes with great spice if you like it. We tried the pork salad, chicken stay, volcano combo, fried rice and more. I'm so happy that there is finally a pretty good Thai restaurant in the area. On my first visit I had tom yum soup and pad see ewe noodles. The soup was fine. It would have been a little better with some bamboo and more cilantro, but flavor was good. The noodles were actually a tiny bit burned. I would have given 4 stars if that hadn't been the case because the flavor outside of the few slightly burnt noodles was also good. I'll update when I go back and try something else read more

i will not come back here. I order chicken pad Thai . The only taste is sweet nothing others . Beef masama beef which is only beef and potato. The soup potion is small too that cost 4 dollar for less than half bowl. read more

My husband and I know our thai food and have high standards. We were so excited to discover this place. The inside was beautiful and the presentation of the food on the plate was picture worthy. I have been searching for the best pad se ew and I have found it here. It is UNBELIEVABLE. If they can keep up this level of excellence we won't go anywhere else for Thai food. We have been tempted a few times to try the new AppeThai but wanted to wait until they had a few months under their belt. The place has a simple décor but we would have preferred softer (cushioned) seating. But the food was spectacular and that's what really counts. We started with the spring rolls which came out piping hot. The Mussaman Curry and the Volcano chicken were our main lunch selections. Both came out hot and both were very flavorful. The curry was loaded with chicken, onions, carrots and potatoes. The viscosity of the curry was just right. The volcano chicken was on the sweet and tart side and was loaded with vegetables-cabbage, cauliflower, zucchini and broccoli. Both were served with a side dish of rice. For flavor and preparation, it would be hard to beat these dishes. The fellow at the next table ordered pud thai and that looked really good as well. We'll be back to further sample their menu-it's clear that Appethai is a winner read more

The first time I came here was in the summer so I sat on the patio and it was absolutely adorable. Beautiful plants and flowers surrounding the small area, it was almost like being on vacation. More recently I came at 11:30am on a Friday for lunch. When I arrived, the restaurant was fairly empty but when I left at 12:30pm it was completely full. There is good reason for that - the food is incredible. I usually get the chicken pad thai and it is always delicious but this time I tried the Volcano Chicken and it was just as yummy. The portions are big, even for lunch I end up taking half of it home. Usually when I order Thai, the spice level is 1-10 so I said I'd like it at 3 and I am so glad the waitress clarified that they do spice from 1-3 so it would have been the spiciest. My friend ordered hers medium spicy and the waitress warned that would be pretty hot but my friend said it was perfect. I also like that they give each table their own water carafe. Great little spot in Brown Deer, can't wait to go back. read more

This was my second time here. The décor is very nice; however, there are very few tables with regular chairs--most tables have benches with nothing to lean back on. The few tables with regular chairs are sort of off to the side. Don't know if it is "out of sight, out of mind" situation that makes the service so slow or what, but we waited a really long time for out food to come out. Conversely, they cleared our table and delivered the check way too soon...we were still eating. And then they didn't come back to take the credit card. My husband got up and approached two different people working there to ask if he could pay. Both said we would have to wait for our server to come back. Not very helpful. The food was really great, but it may be better to take out rather than dine in because of the spotty service. I hope the owners can correct the seating and server issues because it's really nice to have a good Thai restaurant in the neighborhood. read more
