I was having a nightmare situation after the recent cold weather snap in the Pacific Northwest. I own a large old house which i rent out in Everett washington but live in California. Late one night I received a frantic phone call from my upstairs tenant stating that water was leaking from the ceiling. I tried to explain how to turn off the main water valve for the house but unfortunately, my tenant and also the downstairs tenant, who was also experiencing the effects of the leak could not understand what I was telling them to do. "Turn off the main water valve, It's located in the basement close to the boiler, you cant miss it, just turn it clockwise!" It was all Greek to them. I really love my tenants, good people, just not resilient in this area of immediate problem solving. So what to do??? I remembered hearing a catchy jingle on the radio and the occasional commercial from my time in washington about a plumbing company, however i could not remember the name. I google "Plumbers Everett, Washington" and there it was, the company I remembered "Apollo plumbing". I called and even though it was late, almost 10PM my call was answered, "hello, Apollo plumbing. How can we help?" Music to my ears! "Ok, Im far away at the moment in California but own a house in Everett. A leak has sprung up and my tenants, bless them, can not figure out how to turn the water off." I said, as calmly as possible. "No problem sir, what is the address?" I told her. "One second, stay on the line" she reassured me. 30 seconds later she returned, "ok, Ive dispatched a plumber to the house who will arrive in 10 minutes to handle the situation." "......wow, thank you, that was quick" I said. I then told her that the leak and water damage needs to be acertained and a prompt quote would be nice. "No problem sir. Our plumber will handle the immediate situation and we will get back to you as soon as possible." I called my tenants and said a plumber was on the way and hold tight. 30 minutes later I received a call from the plumber who was at the scene. He was reassuring and direct. "HI, ok Ive stopped the leak. I was able to isolate the leak. It was in the attic. I found a shut off valve up there so there is no need to turn off the main for your house." He then told me what this issue was. "Since your house is old, looks like a colonial early 1900's build". "yes, it was built in 1919". I said. "Ok", he continued "your house used to have a cistern in the attic for gravity fed water, most likely for an early hot water system. Old water heaters could not handle pressure fed city water and used gravity fed water from the attic instead". "Ok, this is cool. Im getting a history lesson in old plumbing designs" I thought. He continued, " when hot water systems were updated to pressurized hot water heaters which could handle pressurized hot water the cistern system became obsolete. Well who ever disconnected the old cistern in your attic did not eliminate the attic water run, whoever did it just tied the lines together. A system is only as strong as its weakest link, and that was 2 old 90 deg pipe fittings, one of which had ruptured due to age and stress from years of cold winters. It finally gave up the ghost" This was really interesting for me. I did not know this about old hot water systems. He then said, "The water damage is really minimal because it just happened and we caught it. I suggest eliminating the entire old water run from the attic. It's a fairly simple job. I can do tonight if you want but as far as the leak goes I found the hidden valve. Things will be just fine for now." I thanked him and suggested that tomorrow might be better. I didn't want to traumatize my tenants any more than necessary. I asked for a quote, bracing for the worst and was very surprised at his quote. "OK, thats very reasonable, lets finish up tomorrow" Apollo had the job finished the next day. A nightmare turned into a cool history lesson. Im impressed at how calm, prompt and competent everyone was at Apollo plumbing and also, Im relieve that I did not get ripped off. Apollo Plumbing- how can I sum up my experience with them? Simply amazing customer service. I needed to have my whole water service line coming from my meter to my home replaced. After having 2 repairs done to the line by another company I Discovered yet another leak and that the other repairs had once again failed. It was a large complicated job due to the distance (over 225 feet) and the extensively entwined utility lines that run along it. I had one of the big name companies in town come out to give me an estimate and after looking around for about 20 mins- without any utility markers, they gave me their basic bid that included only 180 feet. I'm not one to take the first bid without more research, so I looked up Apollo Plumbing on Yelp and after reading the excellent reviews I gave them a call. The receptionist was great at working with my schedule and had someone out within a couple of days. Matthew Gardner, the plumber, was the epitome of a professional gentleman, qualities that are in short supply anymore. He was polite, honest, and willing to explain every part of the process to me. Before even giving me a bid, he called out the company that would be doing the boring for the trench less line (Jay from Linescape was great to deal with as well) and also had all the utilities marked. He came back the following Monday, assessed everything once the utilities were marked and spent the time to give me an accurate estimate to be sure I had no added unexpected expenses. He went above and beyond to be sure I knew what to expect and felt comfortable. I spoke with Dan on the phone a few times as well and he was always polite and very helpful. The day of the work he showed up bright and early and jumped right in. He worked flawlessly and was willing to show me how he was going about his work, and answered any questions I had along the way. He worked very hard all day and yet took the time to adjust a few side issues he found with my water heater supply line and hose connection. He remained the consummate professional, even leaving the entire site perfectly clean. It's so hard to find honest, reliable companies and I'm so glad I have found Apollo Plumbing. After, getting several quotes that, were more costly than- the water heater itself I attempted the installation myself. I was trying to save money and felt that- I was capable of seeing the project through to its completion! Through much effort, sweat, tears, & several trips to the hardware store... I was able to get the old hot water heater replaced and make the necessary connections. I thought I was ready to turn the main water valve on & start up the system. However, the gate valve became stuck, to the point of- not moving at all! After, working on just that, one valve for an entire day... I decided to throw in the towel and call a professional! I, called many different places and, all of them were either too expensive or they- were fully booked for at least a week! Debbie, at Apollo Plumbing, was very steadfast in helping me by-finding the right person for the job! As such, she had called Thomas & both of them stayed in contact with me (after hours) to help solve my problem. Thomas, came out to our house the next day after, pushing aside other work as- he considered our issue an emergency! Trust me after, 2 weeks without doing dishes; laundry; or showers is a BIG DEAL!! In, a nutshell, what took me an entire day to try to figure out... Thomas was able to solve in a matter of minutes! As well, he also took the luxury of lighting the water heaters for us. All, of this, without even charging for his time & travel!! I know this is an exception to the rule but- we are more than grateful for his kindness & service! I had a main line sewer back up on a Saturday morning, water was backing up into the toilet and shower drain while the washer was running. The owner Dan answered the phone, determined the severity of my issue and estimated having a truck at my house in under two hours. Mark arrived in the estimated time frame and gave me a quick run down of what should be done and provided a written quote. Once the work was commenced, Mark kept me up to date with what was happening and provided insight, advice and recommendations. I noticed Dan, the owner arrive with some equipment for Mark, apparently they had a mechanical casualty and Dan had brought some replacement equipment ensuring no delay in my service. When it was all said and done, Mark and Dan were professional, knowledgeable, and earnest. I believe there was a job following mine that was being delayed, Mark and Dan were making every effort to contact the client with updates about Apollo's arrival to their house. Unexpected emergency repairs and associated costs are never easy to deal with but I feel that I was taken care of promptly and fairly. read more

I was hoping to hear a response from the owner but since I cannot I will have to take to reviews. Apollo not only way over charged me but they created a leak under my sink when they did a kitchen re pipe. They have before and after pictures as well as me. I will attach photos to show their work. I had zero water problems before they came. I had two p traps and did a re pipe to have one p trap. This is the end result. The BEST part is they got their massive truck stuck in my yard. Ripped into it so deep that a stranger had to come off the highway and pull them out. Did they fix it my yard? No. Will they return my call? No. Was I left an apology? No. Instead they come here and lie to my face. Stating I requested they not replace my strainers during the re pipe. My strainers were in PERFECT condition and it was the tech who told me so. It was not at my request but because it was obvious they were fine. They hold no value to their work and said I could pay $800 for new strainers. I'm at a loss as my problem is with the manager and that is as high up as your concerns can go. read more

Mark was respectful of our house and took the time to explain (mostly) everything. We had our two water heaters replaced. They were still working, but were both 18 years old, so we thought it best to be proactive rather than wait until we had no hot water. Mark came out and gave us a free estimate. I was a little shocked at the price, but after getting a second estimate for $800 more, decided to go with Apollo (plus, they've done some other work for us in the past, and we've been happy customers). The only thing that was a bit of a problem was that Mark left the recirculation pump off. When I turned it on, I did not realize that the air in the pipes would halt the recirculation of the hot water (duh!). We noticed in the morning that the recirc pump was too hot to touch. Went around running the hot water at every outlet, then turned the recirc pump back on. Everything seems to be OK now, but we could have ended up burning out the recirc pump if we hadn't caught it in time. read more

We just bought our home about 6 months ago and last month we ran into a leak in our kitchen. We called a few plumbers and Apollo Plumbing was the first available. They sent a crew out to assess the leak, found out it was underneath the slab foundation in our kitchen. They sent Chris out to fix the leak and he did an incredible job. Not only did he fix our leak, he did so without having to take our our kitchen cabinets! Chris explained everything he was doing and was very quick to communicate things going on. On top of that: Chris contacted a concrete company for us to make sure we could get the hole in our kitchen filled quickly. We have a one year old, he likes to explore and having a huge hole in the floor in your kitchen is not ideal at this age. We are so thankful for Chris and the whole team at Apollo. I don't see how this company got 4 stars. The technician was lazy and started throwing out huge numbers with just a glance of our toilet . He processed to go in to the crawl space ( just poked his head in)and told me he would have to locate my clean/clear pipe and that he believed was in front of my house. Which come to find out by another company I hired was on the opposite side of the house. After all that my wife and I decided to find another bid on the job. After we told the technician that we'd be looking else where . He then proceeds to tell me that he has to charge me a fee for coming out. I told the technician that receptionist told me it's free estimates and there would be no charge to come out . He seemed irritated at my response and responded with " okkkkkk " What poor experience we're glad we looked elsewhere for our plumbing needs. read more

I'll cut a long story short and just say that everyone at Apollo Plumbing in Everett has been fantastic. My story is long but I'll cut it down to the important parts: 1. Debbie, the office manager, is absolutely tops. Friendly, efficient, professional. 2. Quinn is great! He knew city code that another plumbing company should have known but did not. 3. Mark helped me make the decision on which kind of water heater would work best for my needs and budget. He was the lead installer and did a fantastic job. 4. Zach helped install the water heater and he was terrific. 5. Trevor came out to look at leaky faucet and fixed it in less than 3 minutes. There are other plumbers out there but I think you'd be hard pressed to find one that exceeds Apollo Plumbing in professionalism and quality. Apollo is the only plumbing company I'll use. read more

I do not recommend Apollo Plumbing and Rooter. The whole interaction seemed like the technician cared more about quoting prices about all the potential work that would needed to be done vs actually addressing the problem. The technician made it seemed like it would be a huge job that would require a lot of work, as it was impossible for him to find my sewer line. I did not feel like I was a valued customer and felt uncomfortable by how rude he was explaining things. The other company that did come out to fix my sewer line, found my sewer line within minutes, and fixed it within less than an hour AND it wasn't even close to what I was quoted by Apollo Plumbing. Do your research, support your small business owners, and avoid being just another sale $$$ to these franchises who could care less about their customers. read more

I am truly impressed by the way Apollo does business. I called them at 1:40 pm, they answered the phone. I didn't have to leave a voicemail and wait around to maybe get a call back. They sent Quinn out right away. He was here in less than 30 minutes. They sent me an email right away with his name and picture so I knew who would be coming. He was polite and familiar with the work that needed to be done. He happened to have the replacement part in the truck and was in and out in 20 minutes. He even found my driveway in the alley instead of parking at the neighbor's house. The only thing that would have made this better was for the appointment maker and people answering calls to communicate better with the plumbers. I told the receptionist what the problem was when I made the appointment. My husband called later to inform them that he bought the part. The plumbers didn't have a clue. He called me before the app, concerned that it was too late in the day to buy parts after he diagnosed our problem. When I explained everything to him, they came and did the repair skillfully and quickly. We were also pleasantly surprised that the cost was reasonable, It wasn't cheap, but fair. We had to have some plumbing done in our home so my partner called them. He couldn't get any help from the company he works for and the guy didn't even get back to him, Man I was mad. Chris T. came out and was very friendly, courteous and professional. He gave us a quote and was generous enough to help us that same day. I was able to finally get my laundry done today. I felt so bad for him because we live in Monroe and he lives in Stanwood. What a drive. He got done within 2 hours and even wiped up the floor. I told him he better get home for dinner. Saved the day for me and my family. We lost a loved one and we're making arrangements when a pipe burst under the house. Extremely bad timing, had to shut the water to the house off and search for a plumber. I had an issue with several clogged drains in my house (resulting from some sewer issues) and Matthew from Apollo came out, assessed the situation, gathered more equipment and had things moving again within a couple hours. He was very persistent and able to get through some thick roots toward the end of the line. My kitchen sinks were also both jammed up and he freed those up too. Last but not least, he referred me to a gentleman who is going to rebuild the complete sewer. Austin from Apollo was knowledgeable, kind and helpful. We called him for a problem with hot water to the kitchen faucet but included in the cost of the visit was a plumbing inspection for the entire house. This was extremely helpful as the house will be on the market soon and we hadn't had time for a pre-inspection yet. He moved the refrigerator for us and turned on the water valve which our handyman had turned off. Yes, the water heater is at the end of an average life span but he said it currently looks fine. Thank you Mark, Chris and the staff at Apollo Plumbing for repairing our sewer problems. We had a cracked main copper line that dumps sewage under our house in the crawlspace! How disgusting! After having "The Flood Guys" come out: clean/sanitize the area -- Mark could find the problem. We couldn't use any water/toilets that would drain to that crack..... The guys crawled, sawed, dug, and repaired the line in a matter of hours!!!!!! Spent the Christmas weekend worrying about our sewer back up and on Monday morning I got a hold of Apollo and within an hour Corey was here. He as very professional yet personable and honest. He was able to clear the clog and run a scope to show us the problem which showed a broken pipe and a improperly pitched slope. He then gave us tips on how to clear the pipe if it should back up again before the pipes are fixed. Apollo was quick to respond, reasonably priced, and professional.
