Their staff and Dr. baker performs impeccable service. Thank you for taking great care of me. I was very apprehensive about the root canal I had to take care of. They gave me A++ service through out the entire procedure. Kudos to you and your staff read more

I saw Dr. Banfield for a root canal yesterday. First of all he is SO NICE. He was really great about explaining everything about his procedure, his dental assistant was very nice as well. I don't remember her name but apparently she has worked there for over a decade. The money I spent for the laughing gas was well worth it. It made 45 minutes feel like 10 although it was quite funny tasting. I went home with ibuprofen which I took yesterday. I have not taken any pain medication today including ibuprofen, and I have absolutely no pain other than some mild soreness if I touch the side of my jaw with my hand. I'd probably take a root canal with Dr. Banfield over general dental work with a regular dentist. Would recommend 5000%. read more

I had a root canal done by Dr Baker. He said the two teeth next to it needed root canals also. I got 2 more opinions from other dentists and they didnt think I needed root canals in those teeth. Not sure if I can trust this business. read more

Great staff and doctors and a very clean office! I needed to get a root canal done today and although I was terrified, they made sure that I understood everything that was being done and okay throughout the process. Quick and painless! I'd definitely return in the future if needed. Thank you Pam and Dr. Mortenson! read more

Dr. Ike Hardy is the best. I was absolutely dreading my root canal. He was very friendly and genuine. I have a super tiny mouth so he was extremely gentle. He has a very calming presence which soothed my anxiety. My root canal was done in under an hour. He truly is a wonderful Doctor, I highly recommend him! read more

This review is for the Stapley Dr. office. There is nothing on this earth I hate more than having a root canal...NOTHING!!!!! Well, maybe cockroaches. My dentist referred me and to my surprise, they got me in the same day I called, which was a blessing to me because I was in pain. The gal at the front desk was so sweet and nice that if my son wasn't already taken, I would have introduced her to him! She was a doll! I didn't have to wait long at all after checking in. Maybe 5 minutes. Now, when I'm at the dentist, I transform into a 5 yr old crybaby. The dental assistant (gosh, I wish I would have got her name!!!) must have been Mary Poppins in a former life because she knew EXACTLY how to handle a 5 yr old crybaby!! She was caring, gentle, asked me questions about ME and not just my teeth and made me feel as comfortable as one can feel in that chair. Then the Dr. walks in. BOOM! My blood pressure shots up and I think I'm about to hyperventilate and ....crap.....that's a tear forming in my eye. I don't want him to see it! But he is just the nicest, warmest guy ever and explains every detail of what he'll do (not that I want details....I just want him to do his business and let me go)....so first, the gas. Oh, sweet heavenly bliss!!! I could have stayed like that all day!!! But then the shot..... I HATE those!!!! I wish I could say I didn't feel it, but in spite of the topical ointment, I still could. It hurt...yes. But not for very long. And once that set in there was no more pain. The whole procedure was a breeze, in fact. I never felt like my head was being jerked from side to side or my mouth made to stretch the width of the room. This was all done yesterday and I have very little soreness at all. Now...the "But"...... it was pricey. Even after what the insurance paid, I had a huge chunk to pay out of pocket. But, as I suppose is as the case with anything else, you get what you pay for. I hope and pray and offer up animal sacrifices that I never have to have another root canal. But if I do, I'll go back here. read more

ai was referred by my dentist to Apex endodontics. I do not recommend them, the 2 or maybe 3 doctors their are money gathering, he treated my tooth root canal and it is SOOOOO painful and I went many time to them complaining all what they all do is verify my insurance and see who much they will collect!! this is all what they care about...... for the pain he said he do not know why I still have pain BUT he know very well how much I have to pay!!! the doctor is very aggressive their when I went back with teeth pain he is very sharp and very aggressive when he think he have to repeat the work he did again because I have pain!! go some where else not to be in my pain. they took over 1400$ in this surgery and I will take this tooth out I can not stand the pain and they do not want to redo the work. they are not honest! DO NOT GO THERE!!! read more

Dr. Nathan Baker and his staff at Apex Endodontics were so friendly and helped me relax during my root canal. Dr. Baker thoroughly explained to me step by step everything he was doing and even told me funny stories throughout the entire procedure to help put me at ease. I was very impressed with everything, starting from the warm welcome from the receptionist to the professionalism of the staff. I experienced extreme pain in one of my molars. I knew I had to eventually get a root canal, but wanted to go to the best. I was referred to Dr. Nathan Baker. He did an amazing job! I was expecting to be in much pain once I regained feeling in my jaw. Surprisingly, I did not have to take any meds the next day. It's only been a few days and I am able to finally chew normally on that side, something I couldn't do for the past few months. I am very grateful for Dr. Nathan Baker and his staff. I strongly recommend anyone needing a root canal to go and see Dr. Nathan Baker at Apex Endodontics in Gilbert, AZ! Thank you to Dr. Nathan Baker and his team! read more

Needed emergency root canal. They took me in the same day that my tooth fractured (referred to by my dentist). I'd never had a root canal so I was quite apprehensive about this procedure. First of all, the front office staff were very nice and professional. They told me the upfront cost and gave me the option of receiving nitrous oxide (previous dental procedures I've had this option was never available to me) so I accepted and I was glad I did. The D.D.S. performing the root canal was extremely kind and very patient. Dr. Hardy administered just enough local anesthesia to alleviate any and all discomfort. During this procedure I was comfortable and without pain. I would recommend Apex highly and I would certainly return to this clinic should I need a root canal in the future or any other endodontic procedure. read more

I've read some of the negative reviews about APEX and find them truly unbelievable. APEX was truly a godsend to me. I grind my teeth at night and cracked a tooth that required a root canal about 6 years ago. Left work had the root canal done and returned to work the same day. No pain or problems. It is still doing great and I've never had a problem with it. After a temporary move to Washington I needed to get another root canal (on a different tooth). had it done by Highlands Dental in Issaquah Washington where it was done incorrectly with lots of torturous pain, it didn't last more than 1 1/2 years and became abscessed. After going to my original dentist Dr Jacob Zuniga, who is awesome. He recommended APEX once again. The endodontist at APEX are very caring and wonderful at explaining (and showing) what needs to be done in order to save the tooth. Unfortunately...After lots of thought and consideration I decided not to get the root canal redone, Sadly..I will lose that tooth. I appreciate that my endodontist at APEX was upfront and honest about what he found and what to expect, giving me choices rather than just doing the procedure. I would recommend APEX to anyone for an honest opinion and painless procedure. read more

I needed 2 root canals so my dentist recommended Apex Endodontics. I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Ike Hardy D.M.D. I was so pleased with how gentle and caring he is. He put me at ease and made sure I was comfortable every step of the way during 2 root canals. He arranged his scheduled to get me in quickly because I was in a lot of pain also. If you need an Endodontist, Ike Hardy is the man. I had a failed root canal done by another Endodontist, Dr. Hardy agreed to re-treat my tooth and the re-treatment was a success! On top of this, Dr. Hardy is an awesome, caring, and knowledgeable person. read more

Had a root canal done here today. I can sum it up in 3 words: Hi-Tech, Professional, and Friendly. This was my 2nd root canal (1st here) and i was expecting a much worse experience that I had. Front desk, doctor, and staff were all excellent. Would definitely recommend this place! read more

The doctors and assistants are great. They are caring, informative, and very attentive. The office staff leave much to be desired. Their communication skills have been unprofessional, condescending, and inappropriate. When you arrive in the office, their greeting is as if you are a bother to them. I have had several unpleasant interactions with them and this recent correspondence via phone and mail has lead me to finally post a review. I need additional work done but will be seeking care elsewhere just because of the office staff. read more

Who knew that it was possible to have a second root canal for the same tooth 47 years after the first one!?! It is. I would highly recommend Dr. Ike Hardy, who explained why a second root canal was needed. My before, almost done, and done x-rays were displayed and explained as the pretty much painless process proceeded. The shot was the painful part and it lasted less time than to type this sentence. I was very comfortable with Dr. Ike. He emanated a warm, courteous, and professional feel. The rest of the staff I had contact with were also caring. I do hope this is the last root canal, EVER, but just in case, I'll keep this business card on file! read more

I have never had a traumatic experience like the one I had in this studio. I confess I'm afraid of the dentist and sometimes I can shake a bit for fear but the Doctor Eddie Lu was really nervous and rude with me when he saw I was a bit scared. Instead to reassure me and let me relax, after having half of my face anesthetized he rudely kicked me out of the office without taking care of my root canal and told me He could not work on me. I kindly told him that I would try to be calm during the procedure and not send me away with all the anesthesia in my face. There was no way, on the contrary, he even gave me a check for the money I had advanced to him a week earlier. Moral? I wasted time, I spent half day with anesthesia so strong that I could not speak and in addition I was treated like a foot patch. He could at least kindly tell me not to be afraid, to put me at ease and not to make me feel worse with that attitude...lack of empathy and super careless. Even now that I m writing this review I feel bad cause I can't believe there are people like this. It wasn't a matter of money but the inhumane way I've been treated. I d like to add that, as soon as I arrived, the doctor immediately told me "if you waste my time cause you scared and shake, tell me right away cause I have other clients that I cannot delay, ....let's go on with the next one" ---I really felt less than a number. read more

I was send to Apex when my current Dentist could not figure out why I was in so much pain. I was taken to my appt at my exact time, no waiting. They used my xrays from my dentist instead of making me pay for more, I was in a lot of pain, and they made me very comfortable. I ended up needing a root canal- and agreed to let them do it on the spot to get rid of the pain. My Dr was very good with making me comfortable, and explaining my options. I opted to saave my tooth and went for the root canal. I was numbed and the process was quick and easy. (I was told an hour- but it was way quicker than that!) My biggest thing was I was told by friends that I would be out of it and in a lot of pain after. I wasnt . AT ALL! I came home still a little numb- and was given prescriptions for pain. I didnt need any of them. When the numbness went away- i was good to go! I was doing laundry and cleaning my house as soon as i got home and never felt a bit of pain after! I highly recommend APEX! SO grateful that the worst pain of my life was over within an hour with no downtime! read more

Only four stars so far, because I only went for an evaluation. The staff is simply outstanding, welcoming me and making me feel at ease. The doctor was friendly, yet professional, and fully explained everything he did. I will return to this office if/when I need a root canal. read more

Well, If I could do 0 stars I would. Had an apt today to get a root canal and ended up walking out. Had an exam a couple weeks ago, and when I requested a pre-determination, they acted annoyed, particularly the gal that sits at the desk when you exit. I received the pre-determination and decided to give them a try anyways. I show up and check in and then sit down. I noticed when I sit down, there is an African-American fellow and a Caucasian fellow sitting in the waiting room. The African-American fellow has a video/movie playing rather loud, which I chose to ignore but was distracting. After a minute or two, there was quite a bit of cussing, so I asked him if he wouldn't mind turning it down. He replied by telling me to shut up. After exchanging some words he decided to get up and go wait in his car, but upon exiting threatened me if I spoke to him again. Meanwhile the 2 office ladies sat there and did not do or say anything. I did not feel safe in their office and after a few minutes got up to inquire why they did not say anything, which they responded that was between me and him and it didn't bother them. I cancelled my appointment on the spot and walked out. They seem to just be out to collect your money, and not actually care about their patients, and/or their safety. I would not recommend going here unless you can ignore all that. read more

I have been to Apex Endodontics for at least 3 root canals. I just had another root canal and have always had slight anxiety when it comes to dental procedures...but Dr. Ike Hardy is one of the best. Great Job! Oral Surgeon (Dr. Hansen) referred me to Apex. Dr. Mortenson did a great root canal job on my 2 teeth. He was able to save my bridgework, while removing the painful nerves. Dr Nathan Is the best so kind and professional! Love all the staff there best root canal I've had! Highly recommend them!

Getting a root canal is awful there is no getting around that BUT all 3 of my experiences here have been pretty great! The doctor is professional & knowledgeable. The numbing shots barely hurt which was pretty impressive! The staff was kind and helpful also. My only complaint is the lady I initially spoke to on the phone wasn't super friendly but she maybe was having a bad day. Overall, awesome experience! read more

Root canals aren't especially fun and I'm not going to say that Apex makes them fun, but I have to give them credit that they do make them efficient and relatively painless. For the most part getting the first shot is the worst part...and that's really not that bad (although the frozen cotton ball on the tooth that needs treatment will really get your attention...however, in fairness it's one of the diagnostic tests that they have to do). read more

My visit to Apex was absolutely amazing. I had a root canal down almost two years ago and I could still feel pain even immediately after the procedure which you think would be normal especially since pain was not the original issue. I kept going back to the other dentist explaining that something wasn't quite right I could still feel pain for many months following the procedure. Everyone kept saying that the Root Canal looked good and that there wasn't anything wrong when I know there was. 2 years later with a recommendation from Mark Arooni (another great Dentist) I found myself at Apex under the care of Dr. Banfield and staff. Everyone was pretty friendly and Dr. Banfield was so attentive and truly made me feel like he cared about the issue I was having. Through some investigating he found out that one of the distolingual groves was not drilled all they way down to the bottom like it should have been. I started feeling better immediately and I can't think him enough for really taking the time out to find the issue and fix it. If you need work done, this is absolutely one of the best places to go to. read more

Great dentist, friendly staff, awesome place. Dr. David Mortenson is very professional, awesome and makes everything very clear during the whole process. Staff are friendly, and nice. The whole process was smooth, and easy. She is so happy with the overall experience with Dr. David Mortenson. We are very happy with the service. Highly recommend it read more

I was referred to Apex for a root canal on 1 tooth. When I got there, they recommended a retreatment on a different tooth that had broken off. At the time, Dr. Nathan Baker stated, "If your dentist cannot save this tooth, let us know & we will credit your account for this retreatment". So, I, trusting the Dr., agreed!! Well, when I went back to my dentist, they were not able to save that tooth. When we contacted Apex Endodontics & explained the situation, they said a "credit" check would be issued. When I received the check in the mail, I was more than shocked to see that it was for $32.00!!!!! They had billed me for $999.00 for the retreatment on a tooth that my dentist did not even refer me for!!! I am shocked at this!!! How can Apex Endodontics hold their heads up & expect to get respect when they deceive their client like this???????? read more

My dentist in Chandler sent me here. In fairness, I won't be going back there, either. Both determined that I needed a root canal on a tooth with a dead nerve. Fine. Did it. everyone got their money (which, as a previous reviewer remarked, seems the paramount concern). A month later I noticed that tooth hurt - significantly enough that I felt I needed to go back. Thankfully, I only had a temporary crown on it but even still - that was a couple hundred dollars out of pocket. Dr. Hardy 'tests' my teeth and basically throws his hands up and says 1) leave it alone, take some steroids and antibiotics and 'see if it goes away' 2) redo all the work and put some medicine directly into the canal and see if it improves 3) pull tooth 4) surgery (not recommended). 5) Go to an Ear Nose Throat doctor and see if it is my sinuses. I just looked at him incredulously. He stared at me blankly. I said "I'm not the one who went to dental school." Why does it hurt out of nowhere? Shouldn't it not hurt at all? How can we NOT KNOW what is going wrong to the point where we're going to play "Pin the Tooth on the Nerve Ending" three or four more times until we figure it out? I seriously can't believe with all that equipment - with all their diplomas and training - everything is as much of a guessing game as it appears. Don't waste your time or money. Dr. Hardy's 'gee whiz' attitude almost made me burst into flames right there. I'll find someone else. Thankfully there are several hundred to choose from in the greater Phoenix metro area. Do yourself a favor and avoid this one. read more

I had never had a root canal done and was extremely nervous! I wasn't sure what to expect, but his place is amazing! From the second you walk in the door until the second you leave! The front staff are kind and welcoming and the office is very clean. Dr. Baker and his assistant Jen were so kind! The doctor actually looked me in the eyes while shaking my hand! He walked me through the steps as he was doing them, always checking that I was comfortble, even offering me juice and a blanket before we got started! The procedure was fast and I was encouraged to listen to Pandora on my iphone. This place has top of the line equipment and service! I will be referring family and friends for sure! read more

Prices kept changing and going up every time I spoke to them. Still had the work done and received a $400 bill because they charged a different amount than what we spoke about. Can't get anyone to listen to me. They keep explaining the insurance over and over and over but don't listen. I try very hard to get prices up front so I can be prepared to pay my part but I feel that they lie about the prices. I will never go back! read more

I found my dream dentist (if there is such a thing) ... the problem is he only does root canals :( bye. Dr hardy and his assistant had the most polite, concerned, caring bedside manors of anyone i have ever met.. they were quick yet efficient. Im really bummed that i cant have these people as my regular dentist. This was my 3rd root canal... and the only one done at apex.. i wish i had discovered them sooner. Highly recomended. read more
