Evaluation is done first - $270 Root canal price was quoted at $1099. Plus permanent filling total $1605 and change. Able to do this procedure same day. I was looking online for a doctor as I was not too happy with the service I received at another place. I found this company with great reviews. I called early morning when they opened and the lady that answered the phone was super peppy and helpful. I explained my situation and what I was looking for and asked for first availability. She didn't have anything until a week and a half later, but indicated they had same day availability at their Gilbert location and it was with one of the doctors that had great and recent reviews so I was very happy to confirm that booking. I'll write a separate review for the actual procedure at that location. She answered all my questions with patience. She didn't rush me or make me feel stupid. She provided a cost estimate and when I asked if it was possible to use the 3D scan I had done at another office so I wouldn't be charged again, she told me that should be okay, but I would have to go into that office as the files are usually too big to send via email. She provided helpful tidbits like that I wouldn't know. I found her incredibly helpful and encouraging. Even though I didn't come into this specific office for my root canal, I have a feeling I would have liked it there. First point of contact is so important and whoever that lady was nailed it:). Parking my Vehicle was not an issue secondary 2 the time scheduled 4 my dental procedure (10:00AM) The outside of the building's color stands out(Red Brick) The inside of the building is "Luxurious", Neat, Clean, & very Professional in it's Appearance The young woman @ the front desk who ed me in is very soft spoken, kind, patient, & efficient. The office & procedural atmospheres ar comfortable & relaxing. Dr. Baker (Endodontist) & his "Dental" Tech/Assistant are a wonderful, confident, competent organized, & knowledgeable team 2 gether. Dr. Baker is very thorough during reading & verifying/clarifying my medical history(Allergies, Meds, etc.) in the computer inside the patient's room prior to my procedure. His numbing injection techniques are smooth. He allows sufficient time 4 numbing 2 take effect. The music inside the procedure room is calm & relaxing. I cannot say enough to express the incredibly positive experience we had with Dr. Barnes and the entire staff! My fifteen year old needed a root canal. He has autism and experiences sensory overload. Dr. Barnes and staff were kind, patient, empathic, and very skilled. The procedure was quick and easy - and my son left the office as if nothing had happened. I am grateful and highly recommend them, especially for children with special needs. As an aside, the root canal was needed following an incident where my son was jumped by a group of kids from his middle school. One girl hit him in the face with a metal water bottle and broke his tooth. Prior to the police being able to speak with the kids, they coordinated stories and were able to escape accountability. The root canal was a reminder of what happened - and APEX staff were supportive and validating. It helped a lot! read more

So here's the thing when your father was your dentist for your first 50 years and you lose him, finding a new dentist that you trust is really difficult. I can only speak positively about this office, both Mesa and Gilbert location. They were able to schedule a same-day appointment for our son at their Mesa location and arranged a root canal within about a week and a half. However, due to the severe pain he was experiencing overnight, they managed to fit him in within 2 hours at their Gilbert office this morning. The staff is incredibly kind, caring, and professional. I had a conversation with Delayna, who went above and beyond to help us get him in as soon as possible. Both Dr. Baker and Dr. Mortensen were fantastic, with excellent bedside manners. Best dental experience!!! I am terrified of the dentist and thinking of this appointment was something I had to do but was not looking forward to it. But this appointment was amazing! From schedule to follow up. The staff was efficient, helpful and professional. I called in pain and they got me in that day. The office ran like a well oiled machine. There was little waiting once I arrived. Convenient to do paperwork on a tablet. Discount for paying in full which really helped! Dr Mortenson was great!! Highly recommend Dr. Jonathan Barnes! I was worked in same day for a Root Canal and the procedure was amazingly tolerable. Visited here to do a re-treatment. Dr. Barnes was nothing but spectacular! Very knowledgeable and patient with any concerns or questions you may have. I didn't feel rushed or forced in any way. I haven't had an ounce of pain since having the re-treatment done which is an added bonus! I saw Dr. Nathan Baker for an exam and re-treat root canal. His upbeat attitude and clear, thorough communication totally turned my mood around in continuing to deal with a situation I'd been regularly irritated by. Apex Endodontics was a great experience. I brought my son in for the 1st time. And from beginning to start. All staff was so nice, comforting and caring. Delaina went out of her way on keeping my kids comfortable in the waiting room with juice, crayons, coloring paper and putting on the movie they wanted and contacting the insurance to get the procedure done asap. I saw Dr. Barnes to get a root canal redone and he was amazing! He was as gentle as one can be during a root canal, he would check in while working to see if I was okay, and was happy to answer any questions I had! The other staff members were all just as kind and helpful as well! I called them in extreme pain and they got me in that same day, and they didn't make me feel like I was being dramatic. I expected to have a consultation and something for the pain to tide me over until the procedure, but they had scheduled me with enough time for treatment during that same visit! I was terrified before they began, but as it turns out their office also provides laughing gas to help patients relax if they want it (it does cost more, but they told me that up front. It was less than 100$ and well worth it for me!) I am a cash pay patient, and the bill was itemized and seemed reasonable to me. The whole thing cost me about 1300$ in the end, so not a fun expense but for what they where able to do for me, it was a god deal. If I ever need a root canal again, I will definitely call APEX! read more
