I had quickly found that other dentists do not have nearly the level of modern dentistry equipment and or academic intelligence that Dr Konkle and Hatch Dentistry has. Not sure why these people have good reviews. The admin ladies are thin skinned hypersensitive liars who actively tell you one thing, then turn around and say another. Told me a cavity would cost $0 with insurance, showed me the paperwork that clearly said $0, then when I came in (without any other qualification) told me it was going to be $50. The could have easily told me beforehand (as any professional, quality service would have done) but they chose not to. The hygienist was also 20-30 minutes late for my second appointment. At my third visit, they tried to make it seem as though me being displeased with their lateness was somehow my fault and not the fault of shoddy scheduling practices. These people don't understand or care to fix their own issues. They absolve themselves of all blame and deflect it onto their customers. I suppose I should have read about them beforehand, they are all little LDS cultist goblins so I guess I shouldn't be surprised at their touchy babyish natures. read more

I think Hatch Family Dentistry is likely the finest practice in the Phoenix-Tempe area. I have been under their care for 25 years or so, and at age 80, I still enjoy dental health. Dr Konkle is highly trained, tech savvy and totally considerate to his patients, just as Dr Hatch has been over the years.. After many not so great experiences with various dental practices my wife tried this place. She broke a crown while we were traveling and so she called when we got home and they got her in same day. After a cleaning and and exam they had a game plan and got her scheduled for a few days later for the procedure. Unlike other places she's tried the dr she thought she scheduled with us the dr who did the work! I walked her in and he introduced himself and spoke with us like we had known each other for years. Since it's a family business you don't have all the crazy staff turn over that we have experienced at other places. 5 stars for sure! I'm going this week for my own cleaning and filling repair. I'm not a fan of going to the dentist but I can't give enough praise to Hatch Family Dentistry! They're kind, professional and make sure I'm as comfortable as possible. I had an insurance mix-up that they were very patient through and they worked with me and my insurance so I wouldn't have to pay any more than I needed to. Then when I didn't have insurance they have plans to make things cheaper. They also make crowns in the office so it's a one-stop shop, which helped my anxiety with going to the dentist. I've brought my husband in and they take good care of him. I've been a patient now at Hatch Family Dentistry for a little over two years. They are so great about working around my busy schedule. I was in need of a crown and Dr Hatch did amazing work. My numbing injections were painless and I was able to get my crown same day with no temporary. He has also done several fillings on me with no issues. The front desk is the issue because they have messed up my billing on my account multiple times and have given me several different estimates vs charges. Each time it's the customer paying out more money. When I called to discuss the issues the receptionist began then talking over me and yelling. I had been going to my previous dentist for about 18 years and enjoyed the office, even though I had to drive about 30 mins to get there. Within the last year, I didn't feel good about what was happening with the front office and the latest office manager. There were mix ups with billings that I had to call several times about after receiving my letters for Explanation of Benefits. Anyhow, I went in search of a new dentist and looked on Yelp to see what I could find and came across Hatch Family Dentistry and they're much closer. It's a bit daunting trying to find a new provider and I'm very particular. My first visit was just for a teeth cleaning so it was hard to tell if the dentist was going to do good work or has good bedside manner. I had to come back as we discovered that I needed to get 2 crowns done. I was a bit hesitant as they'll do actual work on my teeth, though I did LOVE the idea of getting my permanent crown that SAME visit and not have to wait TWO WEEKS for it to come back from the lab (as it used to happen with the previous office)! This office seems to have very state of the art equipment that are up to date, that's a big bonus! I was a bit nervous as I felt like I was going on a first date with having a new dentist work on my teeth. I asked a lot of questions about the procedure and also how long the doctor has been doing this and if he enjoyed his job. He answered all my questions, with sincerity, I felt. That helped to put me at ease. His Dental Assistant, Vivían, was also WONDERFUL. She was so funny, sweet, engaging and FUN! I honestly believe that Vivian and Dr. Tanner work GREAT together and between the two of them, they made my dental visit enjoyable, if that's possible to say, as who REALLY enjoys going to the dentist??? I am so happy to have given Dr. Tanner a fair shake because he did thorough and good dental work. He's also very personable and I feel I can trust him and this office, it's important to have that because it's like building a relationship. My "first date" was a success...WooooHooooo! read more

Here's what separates Dr Hatch from other dentists - he does everything he can to ensure that the procedure (filling, crown or other) is as pleasant an experience as possible. I had 11 fillings replaced and a crown over the course of 4 visits. I have a pretty dense jaw bone, and have had a very tough time getting numb in the past. So many dentists simply ignored my wincing and pressed on. Dr Hatch, with a background teaching anesthesiology, made 100% sure I was able to get numb for the procedures. I have to say, some of my trauma around visiting the dentist has been resolved through this experience. I'm glad to have found this dentist and will continue to come back as long as I live in the Phoenix area. read more

Initially my wife came here because of a problem her other dentist didn't think was a problem. She got to see Dr Konkle, and he did a filling for her. Problem gone! Since then both she and I have had cleanings and some additional work also. She saw Dr Hatch this last time. They seem to do good work. Both Konkle and Hatch. We were able to get in relatively quickly, and in my case the filling that was a bit painful recently was quickly replaced. The hygienist was different, and contradicted things I had been told in the past. Still undecided about her. But there are several to choose from. So far two fillings handled well. Overall, seems to be a good practice. If it wasn't for a concern or two with the hygienist I would probably go 5 stars here. But given that most of my chair-time is with the hygienist I think that has to factor into the ratings. So four stars, and I can recommend them for anyone seeking a dentist. read more

First, he realized that dentistry is expensive and he gave me three options for my cracked, infected tooth.
