One small suggestion I would have preferred high level updates of where we are during root canal. However Dr Slykhous did a good job explaining afterwards and even showed me the updated x-ray which was nice. They place a temporary sealant which doesn't feel secure but seemed to be standard and they said can last up to 3 weeks. I'm satisfied with the work however the pricing is on the expensive side even with insurance so the value doesn't match the cost. Also they charge for an evaluation. Hopefully I won't need their services again as the cost would likely prevent me from returning.

They had the latest in equipment. I started off with a CT scan to get a 3D image of my teeth along with digital x-rays of my teeth. Dr. Kerr was fast and efficient. Before I knew it it was all over. The only pain I felt was the initial injections of lidocaine before my mouth went numb. The office staff was nice and friendly. We ended up talking about foreign travel and how one of their friends caught the last plane back to America before the pandemic restricted all flights. They were part of my in-network dental insurance and charged a fair price for a root canal according to the software our company gave us to determine fair pricing for our zip code.

After a time we decided that as much as we liked him, we needed to find something closer so we didn't lose a day each time we needed out teeth cleaned, or in case of emergencies. Ocotillo was considered because of their stellar reviews, so I set up appointments for my wife and daughter to get their teeth cleaned. They were my Guinee pigs before I went there myself. :-) They reported back to me that the girl at the front desk argued with my wife that she needed to have my daughters payment run through the insurance company even though my daughter wasn't covered as such and my wife was totally willing to pay cash. As soon as my wife finally gave in out of frustration and told her to give it a shot the girl acted all offended and said she couldn't do that as it is considered insurance fraud. This is what my wife had been trying to tell her so she was very confused. The girl then got into a dispute with my daughter over her age, refusing to believe her when she said she was 22. Not really sure what that was about. As soon as my wife went in, the dentist looked at the x-rays and without even looking into her mouth began telling her she needed a deep cleaning, crowns replaced, implants done etc etc. Our other dentist was REALLY good, and never tried to upsell us for things we didn't need. He even yanked her chain about doing cosmetic work she told him in no uncertain terms she wasn't interested in, asking her when he could get started. She was not happy. So I cancelled the follow up appointment she made as they told her they didn't have time to do all the necessary work that day and made an appointment with our previous dentist for a second opinion. If he says she needs that work done then fine, but as she goes to the dentist on a regular basis I would be shocked to find out that in the six months since her last visit her teeth have staged a revolt and need to be subdued to the tune of thousands of dollars.

I was very diligent about getting my cleanings & exams, but in 2019 I could no longer work and had no insurance. I lost my husband in 2020, and was very nervous about scheduling an appt this year. After leaving voice mail messages early July with no return calls, I worked up the nerve to drive by to see if they were still open. I thought that might be the case because the voice mail referred to Memorial Day which I found odd. I stopped in on TUESDAY July 6th, they were open, Taylor said Marie & Desiree were no longer there, but said she could get me in TOMORROW. She asked if I wanted a card & I said no, I was putting it in my calendar, but because I had bi-lateral hip replacements I needed a presciption for antibiotics prior to appt & it was going to be really tricky trying to get it filled so quickly. She gave me a prescription, I scrambled to get it filled so quickly, took pills the hour before my appt time, showed up for the appt, office was closed. Called 3 times before Taylor answered, she ARGUED with me that she tried to give me an appt card, she had it in the trash and it said the 8th, not the 7th. I guess the word TOMORROW doesn't mean what I thought it meant. I was angry because I took an antibiotic for no reason, I was not swearing, but she said I disrespectED her. I was so upset I re-scheduled for 2 wks later. I showed up, and Taylor tried to make a joke that she was surprised I showed up because she didn't think I wanted to see her again. Not wrong. My cleaning was with McKenzie who was also new, she was sweet but water was going down my throat & I had to sit up to cough up water at one point. I didn't feel like I got a great cleaning but just wanted to get out. Dr Roper did a quick look, did not address the tooth I was worried about, pushed for me to get a mouth guard & rushed out. While still in the chair, McKenzie offered to schedule my next cleaning. She actually said "Six months would bring us to JANUARY 31ST, but we might be closed because of NEW YEARS EVE." I was shocked & slightly insulted, but I kindly told her she was off a month. She put an appt card in the normal dental goody bag. Taylor was not at the desk as I was leaving but I just wanted to get out of there & left. As I was driving home, Taylor called & said I failed to make my payment. I stopped back in later that afternoon. She said I did not give my insurance information, and I told her she had made a copy of my card back on the 6th. She looked & said she did have that. I showed her my appt card, and asked what date does this say? It showed 1/3/22. She read it to me as ONE THREE TWENTY TWO. I asked what date am I scheduled for? She said one THIRTY one. I said to cancel whatever appt I had & to have the Dr call me. Angela the manager called me, then Taylor who apologized saying she didn't realize how upset she made me. I asked for referrals to another office. To this date, I have not recieved any referrals or a call from Dr Roper. Dr Scheerhorn & Marie are no longer there, and this is definitely not the attention to detail that I have been accustomed to & a faithful patient of this practice, and have recommended in the past. Sad and extremely disappointed.

I and my daughter had explained VERY thoroughly that she has severe trauma and anxiety. I was told I could stay with her during the procedure as her support. Everything seemed fine when we arrived. We were taken back to get her ready. I was sat in a corner. They gave her oral medication to relax her before IV sedation. Then, the assistant comes in and says, "Ok, it's time to move you back out front." I explained AGAIN about the trauma and anxiety and my daughter's wish to have me there with her. I was told the dentist would not allow it. I am frustrated, worried about my daughter, and angry that, KNOWING that she had a very bad history with dentists and suffers from anxiety, they were not transparent at all about this policy, but instead sprang it on us out if the blue AFTER my daughter was already being prepped with medication. This is unethical and wrong. I am hoping that everything turns out ok for my daughter. But, I am very disappointed in what I was hoping to be a good experience. I am amending my review to state that I will NEVER bring my daughter back to this office. My daughter was to be given IV sedation. She was told over and over that she was going to "take a nap." My daughter was awake and felt everything during the procedure after being told she would not be. I am beyond furious!

I found it by researching online on who did gentlewave and who had good recent reviews. Location was easy to find. There's parking available. Walked in and was slightly confused as there are two doctor offices with doors. Go to the one on the right. Checked in at my appointment time and the lady asked me to fill out some paperwork on the tablet and asked if it was my first time and asked for a photo ID and insurance info and confirmed my estimated cost. Form was easy to fill-out except the screen protector made it a little difficult to tap, but it worked. Finished and gave tablet back and asked to use the restroom, which is to the left of the receptionist. Fully stocked toilet paper and paper towels--as in a little hard to pull to use, but better that than not having any lol. They have little cups and a dispenser for mouth wash. Sat back in reception area and was called to the back. She took some Xrays and they were able to use the 3D X-rays I had done at another doctor's office so that saved me some money, but note, this place was about half the cost for the same X-ray so I wish i had done that here! Gave my referral form for that other office and she was curious why I decided not to go there and I just said I wasn't comfortable at the other place and decided to go here. She was really nice and calm. Dr. Mortenson was my doctor. I needed a root canal and it's my first one ever. He did an initial consultation and then gave me options to do the procedure and I was like yep, thats what I'm here for. He did end up doing gentlewave on me since he had to go in pretty deep. I told him in the past, doctors had to use extra numbing on me so he gave me three shots and I didn't feel a thing other than the pinch of the needles and then pressure when applying the temporary filling. Otherwise, I felt NO pain. I've heard such horror stories about root canals that I was really prepared for pain, but nope. Didn't hurt during, after, or here I am 24 hours later. Unbelievable!!! I thought it was pretty cool how you could literally watch the work being done cuz there's like a reflective mirror so I could see him opening a hole, drilling, filling it with stuff, covering, etc. He was polite, calm, cool, and collected. Mostly explained what he was doing as he was doing it. Asked me before and after if I had any questions/if he answered all my questions. Told ME I did a great job after lol. He was really good, precise, and gentle. Very matter of fact. Gave me pain medications to pickup at my local pharmacy. If I had to get a root canal again, I would go to Dr. Mortensen again and wouldn't hesitate to recommend him to others:)

This office offer a comprehensive line of services with the most advanced modern technology. Same day crowns are made in the office using advanced digital technology. She scans the tooth, designs the crown digitally, and mill it out of a ceramic block using a special machine, all in one visit. It was incredibly fast too!
