I had a favorite practice I went to in Illinois and I would travel there for my care until the practice was finally closed due the practice relocating out of state. I tried a different practice in Gilbert over a year ago and had an awful experience. I was talking with someone about my dilemma and she highly recommended Serenity Dental - so I ripped off the band-aid and gave them a call. Whenever I would call any other practice I was always told my asks were not feasible. My ask was: Warm or room temp water rather than cold, 4 shots of novacaine, the use of the Synapse Dental Eraser (and nobody has this tool - but it is truly miraculous at blocking out pain). In the absence of the dental eraser my ask was to add Nitrous (laughing gas) in addition to the warm water & novacaine. I was told they don't typically warm water ahead of time but they would do so for me and I was also told that the novacaine & nitrous was totally doable. I went in for my initial visit and got my teeth cleaned, x-rays, etc. Everyone in the practice was so very kind to me. They really went out of their way to make me feel comfortable and at ease. The dentist even said he would provide me a prescription to obtain the dental eraser so that it can be used when needed at an appointment. I need to go back to take care of 2 cavities & have a crown. This is the first time in a long time that the idea of going back isn't giving me awful anxiety. Jess was the one that did the teeth cleaning for me and she is just a sweetheart. I also got to see Dr. Bhatt to discuss the needed care. He was super kind and really assured me that I came to the right place. So if anyone suffers from severe anxiety like me over dental visits - I would strongly encourage you to give this practice a try. This practice is truly the best - and I already love them more than the other practice I went to back in Illinois for over 25 years. I cannot thank this practice enough for taking such good care of me!

My experience with this practice was fairly positive at first, but it ultimately became one of the…read moreworst dental experiences I've ever had. I initially came in because I had chipped one of my implant crowns and wanted both front implant crowns remade. Dr. Robert Swanson was very casual about the chip and even suggested simply leaving it as it was. I wanted it repaired properly, and he assured me it would be "no problem." He also told me he worked with a great lab and even stated that the lab was "the most expensive in town."... When it came time to remove my original cemented crowns, Dr. Swanson seemed unsure. I even asked how many times he had removed cemented implant crowns before, and he replied, "Not a lot." Despite that, the temporary crowns they placed were excellent. They fit comfortably, looked natural, and I almost forgot they were temporary. The problems began with the lab visit. Dr. Swanson told me I would work directly with the lab to customize the appearance of my new crowns. Instead, after waiting more than 30 minutes past my appointment despite being the only patient there, I was briefly color-matched and sent on my way with very little discussion. When I returned to preview the finished crowns, they were missing the gum porcelain entirely and were much larger than expected. I questioned the lab because they had color matched my gums during my first visit. After stating it wasn't in the work order, they acknowledged the issue and told me to give them another week to correct it, this was Friday. Surprisingly, by Monday morning, Premier Family Dental called to say the crowns were already finished and ready for placement. That timeline immediately seemed unusual. When I saw the revised crowns, they were extremely bulky. They felt unnatural, interfered with my tongue and bite, and the tooth/gum colors did not match at all. I expressed my concerns before they were permanently placed, but I was told my jaw just needed time to adjust and that I was "hyper fixated" on them. Unfortunately, things only became worse. Within days I developed severe jaw clicking, popping, and discomfort. Over the next two weeks, I returned FOUR separate times for adjustments. Each visit involved grinding the crowns down further until the undersides became uncomfortable yet the problems remained. When I continued asking for the crowns to be remade, Dr. Swanson refused and even tried to tell me I needed a mouth guard for sleeping. During our final conversation, he told me he would not remake them and stated that no one in the practice had the ability or skill set to correct the issue. The practice ultimately refunded the ENTIRE procedure, acknowledging that the crowns would need to be redone elsewhere even though Swanson told me the only way I would get a refund is if I could prove to him I was going to get them re done, which was EXTREMELY unprofessional and unethical to assume I was dining and dashing when they failed me and did terrible work. Since the new crowns were put in I have sought two independent second opinions from other dental providers. Both offices examined the crowns and independently concluded that they were poorly made and would need to be completely remade rather than simply adjusted. Hearing the same conclusion from two separate providers confirmed that the problems were not simply a matter of "getting used to them," but that the crowns themselves were not acceptable and required replacement. As a result of this experience, I am now starting over with another provider and am receiving treatment for significant TMJ symptoms that developed after these crowns were placed. I also received a patient relationship termination letter after requesting that the work be corrected. I would NEVER recommend this office or the work of Robert Swanson based on my experience. What should have been a straightforward replacement of two implant crowns resulted in repeated adjustments, a complete refund, ongoing jaw problems, a very trusting relationship tarnished and the need to have the entire treatment redone elsewhere.

I decided to call Seville Family Dentistry for an emergency booking. We live in the Seville community and I have driven past this clinic before. I called and a lovely receptionist picked up. She said there was no available appointments but would see what she could do. She was empathetic to our situation and offered a lending ear. She managed to get us in with Dr Howie. My parents set off for their appointment. When they got home, they said couldn't fault Dr Howie and highly recommended him. Though there was no immediate solution for my mother, Dr Howie was thorough and gave her some meds to mask the pain until she's back home to possibly see a doctor for nerve pain rather than teeth related. She felt looked after, cared for and respected. I will be going to see Dr Howie for my future dental needs.

This will be a long review as to explain the amount that Brandon has done for me would be hard to explain in a small paragraph. I have dealt with dental issues all growing up. My family all has had issues and a lot of it is genetic issues. I use to get anxiety going to the dentist. When I started seeing Brandon 8 years ago he was great at explaining things and making me feel comfortable. I started doing routine dental care because I now wasn't having the anxiety about going in because I could see how much he was helping me. My jaw has never sat correctly with my jaw alignment causing all the pressure to be on my front teeth. Which in turn caused extreme damage and loss of length on my front teeth. Brandon was so patient and thorough through the whole process of helping me decide what to do with my bite. In my pictures I will add to this review, you will see how much my teeth had been damaged over the years with the constant pressure being applied to my front teeth and what Brandon was able to do to create a beautiful smile and set me up in the future with a more stable bite. Brandon was able to do 12 crowns on the top to help build up the back of my teeth and make a more unified smile. Since having them done I have had minimal pain and almost forget that I had them done when I'm even eating. Brandon was very Thorough and he is a perfectionist with his work. I have heard on multiple occasions since having my teeth finished how amazing and natural they look. Most of the time they don't even know what's different which goes to show how natural they look. I love that he made them look so natural. I have had other people reaching out to see where I had my teeth done because they look so natural. I have also met other patient in passing at his office or finding out where I have gone for dental work, give raving reviews of him as well. Dr. Van Dyke filled a cavity for me last year that has caused me a year of pain. I noticed a new pain in the area as soon as the numbing wore off and notified the office. I was told it was just an unhappy nerve and sent home with new toothpaste. The pain persisted and I brought it back up with Van Dyke and Goates at my next 2 cleaning appointments. I was sent home both times and told there was nothing they could do. I finally got an outside opinion and discovered the filling was lifted on one side and needed redone. The filling had been needing repair since it was put in my mouth and I spent the year in pain every time I flossed or chewed. On top of that, I was told a crown now had to be put on the tooth. I tried to schedule this with Precision, but Dr. Goates was out of office due to medical reasons and I refused to let Van Dyke touch my mouth again. She's operated on me twice and I've had complications both times. After being rescheduled on numerous times I was finally referred to their sister office who took care of me, but Precision continues to refuse to cover these services to correct Van Dyke's mistake. I put too much trust in these two dentists and regret not reaching out to get another opinion sooner. Hopefully my review can help others from experiencing the same pain, suffering & negligence that I have. I would highly recommend looking elsewhere for dental services, especially if you are a person of color.
