I hired Apache Movers to help with my 7/28/2020 move. It took 2 days, one for packing and for moving from Austin, TX to the Houston area. It started off ok as far as the packing day. One of the guys, Jason, made things super awkward, as he was constantly making snarky comments, and just generally had a bad attitude. The other guy was actually very good. My mom and I spent the night at my Grandma's as obviously our beds were packed away. We returned the next morning so I could leave the garage door opener remote for the people moving in. I was absolutely floored by what I saw. There was trash EVERYWHERE left by them. They left empty tape rolls strung allover the house, bits of packing tape also everywhere, there trash and drink cups were left on the counters, a few pictures still left on the walls as well as curtains, a couple of laundry baskets full of things, things were just left in the garage, and cords I needed for TV and wireless stuff, and my pet's water bowl and mat. Keep in mind I was moving three hours away. When I had initially stopped by the morning of the move, my Jeep was full to the brim as I had my mom, my dogs, my cats, my Mom's oxygen concentrator, my dog's crate, suitcases, and a few other things tightly packed in. I had to drive all the way back the next morning in order to collect everything that had been left and clean up their trash. My (former) neighbors came over to help me, and even between the three of us, it took two hours to clean up everything so the cleaning crew I hired could come in and do a move out clean for the new residents moving in the following day. How is a clean up crew supposed to clean when there is all kinds of trash left everywhere? How is it going to look to the new residents if they had come buy and saw that mess? How are they supposed to move in under such conditions? As soon as we arrived to our new home, the truack was a few minutes behind so I called the office to let them know of the situation. As it seems they are prone to do (evident by responses here and on Google), they tried to turn everything around on me, saying I had left the trash. ME. As if I was the one that had done the packing and left lunch trash and drink cups everywhere, and left things on the walls. They actually had the gaul to tell me it was my fault, that the moving team were one of their top movers and couldn't possibly be at fault. Also, they told me that this is standard procedure when customers threaten action so they can't dispute the charges on their card. Furthermore, when I threatened to leave reviews and take action against them, the operations manager literally said, "oh really? ok", and just a few minutes later I got a call from Jason saying the office called him and said he has to take cash and were not going to accept payment by card from me, and they weren't going to be able to unload until I paid cash. I don't carry that kind of cash, and I am new to the area and have no idea where the bank in my area is. I was absolutely appalled that they were punishing ME for having the audacity to complain about poor performance. 1) Customer service is supposed to be about HELPING the customer, not calling them liars and punishing them for demanding reparations for poor service. 2) Not taking responsibility for your mistakes, not cleaning up after yourself (should be noted I had trash bags sitting out) is absolutely UNACCEPTABLE. The whole thing was just absolutely bizarre and mind blowing, and I have NEVER seen such horrible treatment by a company of their customers. Buyer beware when considering this company. read more

Not only did they reassemble the piano (the only thing they moved for us) incorrectly... by putting the legs on in the wrong places... they then dodged my calls. Kept telling me that they would "get back to me" and met did. I've asked for an update over 4x. Contacting BBB and also disputing my cc charge for services NOT rendered. Awful experience. Moving is one of the most stressful life events you can have. Apache made it more stressful, not less. Customer service was not just absent, but confrontational. They had a second job planned that afternoon so wanted to leave and return the next day to finish. Seriously. 1 star because of the damage to my wife's car. One of the two drivers backed one of the two trailers into my wife's Infiniti and damaged the front of the $70,000 SUV. Tried to get a quote from them, I requested a quote online & was then told to call or email JR regarding questions they had. Surely they should have called/emailed me? I did email JR who in turn asked me to take photos of some of the items I was moving. This would mean I needed to go back to my property & take the photos especially. It stinks to move, but if you have to do it, Apache Moving is a great choice to help you. I've used them twice now. They have excellent customer service over the phone when scheduling the appointment, they are always on-time and are very upbeat and careful when moving your stuff. ALL of your stuff :) They charge $85 per hour with a minimum of 2 hours. Or, you can go to their website and tell them exactly what you have to move, and they can give you a flat rate quote that way. They service the entire Austin area and then some. Did I mention it was pouring rain when I moved? Well, Apache was extra careful of my things and made sure everything was covered well in blankets to not get anything ruined. They even came with extra tape (for free) for boxes that weren't taped well enough. Last thing that made me happy is that I have a dog and a cat, and they were very friendly to both and worked hard to keep an eye on both of them while they were loading up my stuff. read more

I used Apache to move within Austin after a friend used them for a city to city move in Texas, and WOW, they were GREAT. I had Scott and Chris, and they were by far the most kind, careful, and good natured movers I've ever worked with. It seemed like they took extra care on almost everything like it was their own property. Most importantly I felt comfortable with them and that can be a big deal when your life is in someone else's hands. The guys always double checked with me on furniture placement and always offered to move things inches if I wanted. Going through a divorce I only wish I had more to offer in tip rather than that cheap burger when it got late. I would (and will) use Apache again. They definitely go the extra mile. read more

If you value your belongings you will NOT trust them in the hands of Apache. The first time I used them to move from one apartment to another, I had them scheduled for 3pm. They didn't arrive until 11:30pm, and we didn't even hear from them until around 10:45. There was a 3 man crew though and they hustled up enough to complete our entire move in a little under an hour! Still, they were 8.5 hours late... When it came time to move from that apartment to our nice, shiny new home we were pricing multiple moving companies, and Matt with Apache swore they would beat any price we were quoted. He also PROMISED me that he would send his very best THREE man crew, and that the job would be done in under the minimum of two hours. On moving day, I was highly disappointed when a TWO man crew showed up. I was even more upset when they started giving me attitude. My husband had to go to work, so it was just myself there, and I felt like they were treating me as an "ignorant woman". They picked up my entertainment center and dumped everything out of the doors, including the shelves and hardware. One guy pointed down at it and said, "You need to pick that up." (On the previous move, they banded the door shut, and left everything inside.) To make matters worse, they were extremely slow. They moved one box at a time, and walked as slowly as possible. At one point a box fell off the dolly and hit a couple of stairs on the way down. I had my dog, as well as our valuables, locked in the bathroom. One of the guys kept asking if he could go use the restroom and became very frustrated when I said no because my dog was in there. He was very rude about it. When they were finally finishing loading up 2.5 hours later, the last thing they did was disconnect my washer and spill water all over the floor. They didn't tell me and I didn't notice until my hairy dog was playing in it right before getting in the car. Ugh... I showed up to my new house and had about 20 minutes to kill on my own because they GOT LOST... They both had new iPhones, so I'm not sure how that could even be possible. They didn't reassemble my entertainment center. They kept slamming pieces of furniture (shelves and part of a vanity) on my counter tops despite me asking them not to. They left my couch cushions laying all on the floor. Before they left, I noticed a large (2"x2") area of discoloration on the side of my dark dining chair. The guy LICKED his finger and rubbed on it while exclaiming it was "just paint". It is "just paint"... off my washer! The giant white paint spot compliments the 1.5" gouge in the back railing of the same chair nicely. The worst part is the big gouge they made in my front door when they smacked it with something. I remember hearing the door open hard and slam into the doorstop at one point, but I was too busy focusing on the other guy USING MY RESTROOM (even though I had said NO) to see exactly what had happened. I just know I am left with a huge scrape/dent in my front door, which is the FIRST thing you see when you walk up. Embarrassing. I was never so happy to see anyone leave, especially since it had been over 3.5 hours since we started... I called and spoke with Terry, the owner. He kept telling me to call back when Matt was there, because even though it's HIS company, Matt made the sell and would have to see it through. I emailed in photos of the damage. I didn't hear anything back so I called the next day to make sure the files opened. I was told they were "working on it" and Terry dismissed me. I called back the following day to see what else I needed to do, and much to my dismay, Terry the owner was very RUDE. He told me I was obnoxious and annoying him by calling and checking in.I suggested replacing the chair and he laughed and asked if I was "out of my mind". He offered to put a layer of stain on it to fix it right up. Um NO!!! You will not patch up or paint one chair in a five piece set. It'd never match up. He also said there was NO WAY they damaged my door. Please. He was getting very rude so I told him if I was bothering him, I could just file my complaint with the BBB instead. To which Terry replied, "Go ahead. I have a AAA rating with the BBB. They can't and won't touch me, but I'll just go on and deny that claim right now." He THREATENED me! He talked to me like I was an idiot child the entire conversation, but he also called me names and threatened to deny my claim right off. I now know I will never receive anything from them to fix what they damaged. Learn from my mistakes and RUN AWAY FROME APACHE!!! read more

They damaged a picture, got lost and if I had not had someone here to help them get the big chest upstairs, it wouldn't have happened. They also got lost on the way because they put in the wrong address. They have me half hour off but they were super slow because they were lost and also took forever to get the chest upstairs so, they did me no favor here. They damaged a picture and took a pic and said someone would contact. I have not heard one word. I will not use them again nor will I refer anyone to them. So basically Chris and James saved my life the other day. I was moving into Crest at Pearl, a student living apartment complex in West Campus. Crest had hired movers from another company to help all the residents move in but those guys ended up leaving right at 5 without saying a word to the residents. ALL my things were left on the sidewalk outside, along with MANY other residents' belongings. My family had already left with our moving dollies and uhaul and went home. So I was going to have to move my mattress, bed frame, and boxes upon boxes of stuff, along with three tables! - upstairs by myself. Thankfully, the management at Crest had the sense to hire Chris and James, who happened to be doing another move in outside. They were fast, careful, and really respectful of my things! This was my first experience with movers so it was a little odd for me to tell people what to do and then just sit back and watch them do it! We spent a little more than we anticipated but it was worth it because the guys were very accommodating. Once we saw the size of the trailer we asked if they would be able to stop at an additional location and they didn't even bat an eye. I knew something was wrong when they pulled up an hour and a half late. They said something about some of their regular guys didn't show up. They spent longer than expected packing up my stuff. I had one desk they couldn't figure out how to get through the door. So they are getting anxious because they are running late. We rush off to the apartment without finishing loading the house. I later find out they left 3 large boxes, left 2 doors off the hinges, the order taker wrote down the wrong info and they refused to reassemble my beds, they put several large items in the wrong rooms even though i pointed out it was wrong. This was late July in Texas so it was really hot and we were all exhausted but a professional moving company should be able to handle it. They did have a third person show up at the apartment but they were already several hours behind schedule then. The only reason they get 2 stars is they were polite. read more

I have to say that hiring these guys was the best decision I could've made. My movers were friendly, quick and did an amazing job. Scott and Tim did a great job moving our furniture and boxes from storage to our four bedroom house in NW Hills. They showed up on time and were extremely careful moving four heavy bedroom sets to the second floor. They worked hard with a great attitude for 11 hours straight. We contacted several movers, but after talking and meeting with Terry who came to the house to inspect and quote, I knew. I selected his company. He was very professional and courteous and knew what was talking about. He delivered on everything he said. His crew showed up on time and ready to work, and work they did. Scott, Jason, Justin and Frank were the crew and even the wife commented on how hard they worked, packing and moving a 2100 SF house to a new home over 40 miles away! Plus they delivered a portion of our items to a storage facility in town. The guys were very courteous, and if they were tired, they did not show it around us. Stay away from this company. Do not use them. They are unreliable and unresponsive. 08/07/2010 They were scheduled to come unload a POD I had packed and moved from Houston to Jonestown TX at 8am. The called the day before to confirm the move and address. At 755am I got a call from the owner who said their truck came in late last night and had to be unloaded before they could come do my move. I was told they would be there no later than noon and they would call to confirm they were on the way. Noon came and went with no call. Numerous calls to the office went unanswered and messages were never responded to. Eventually i found a company to come out and unload my stuff on Sunday morning. Apache never called, showed up and I would never attempt to use this company again. Stay away. Stay far away. read more

Sloppy sloppy sloppy. These guys were friendly, and quick, but VERY sloppy. When moving items in to my new house they chipped several door frames, and didn't seem to care about taking time to do things right -- several times they'd just have one guy on one big heavy item, and what do you know... he didn't have the precision he needed to make it through without banging the sides. Lastly, they hooked up my Washer and Dryer (and I tipped them extra for the service) and then I found out after they left that they really did a half-assed job. The dryer vent hose was bent and basically destroyed and came off the moment I turned on the dryer. The washer cold and hot water plugs leaked. If you're moving from apartment to apartment... maybe hire these guys, at $85 they aren't horribly priced (but certainly higher than some quotes I got), but they really aren't the crew for quality or attention to detail. read more

Never, ever, under any circumstances use this company. The problems: - Inaccurate Estimates, blown by $3000 - Blown estimate on capacity needed to move all items. - Showed up with pickups and moving trailers (two) which were not enough for this type of move. - Movers were hostile, and overtired - Furniture missing (Dresser Mirror) and not replaced or located - Tossed furniture around, dinged it, scratched it - I had to force via the owner to get them re-pack the trailer because they were actually going to leave me with unloaded stuff. I drive a sedan. - Did not make the timelines insisted upon; - Blew the HOA move-in times - Moving in at 3am because they would charge another move to come back the next day. - I had to help them move the furniture because they were tired and marking up the furniture - Didn't reassemble furniture because they had to be at another job - Called the owner Terry to tell him that if one of the guys didn't leave I'd call the police - Terry replied that if he didn't stay, they would take the rest of my furniture to a warehouse and go the legal route. - The movers are not paid hourly, they are paid on commission, so they don't care if estimates are blown. The racket is that they give you the low estimate so you select them, and then when they show up they start raising the prices. "Oh we didn't understand this", "Oh we didn't know about that" bla bla bla. - If you tell them that you won't pay, they tell you they will leave and you need to find another mover. Good luck finding one on move day, and they use that to extort you for more money. - Owner is openly hostile, great on the phone and through the process until the inevitable problems on moving day, then it's all of the above. This is goon-level extortion at it's finest. Monkeys would have been better. At least with monkeys I wouldn't have had to threaten to call the police. read more

I gotta say that the guys at Apache moving did a great job for us! Jason, Justin and Chris were fantastic! The day had a heat index of approximately 106 and our new house has a 100' long driveway with a 25' vertical drop and a wicked "S" turn to get to the front door. Those poor guys had to carry and wheel EVERYTHING down that driveway and then climb back up for the next load! They stuck with it for the 13 hours needed to get the job done!!! Granted, a larger vehicle would have allowed for a single trip instead of the two, but it got completed and we have not found anything broken or seriously damaged. Good job Justin, Jason and Chris! Indeed I did not, I was at my parents move the whole time until after 2 am. Long story shirt, not an honest company. Will take your money and never look back. It is ok NOT to finish a job. It's ok to treat the elderly this way. Run down, 3 packed storage units , sent two guys, took over 16 hrs. Didn't finish and won't finish. Owner tries to talk in circles not offering a real solution. I had them move me from a 2nd story apartment to a 3rd story apartment. They were on time, super quick, placed my labeled boxes in the appropriate rooms (I didn't have to ask!). They were super friendly and even placed my porch chairs outside. The only reason why I can't give 5 stars is because an outlet cover got broken while they were moving items out of my old apartment. It was an easy fix but incredibly inconvenient; having to replace it after I had already packed my screwdriver. read more

I am extremely disappointed with a move that I experienced with Apache almost a month ago. The movers only had to take my items from one apartment to another IN THE SAME BUILDING, DOWN ONE FLIGHT OF STAIRS. Both of the night stands from my brand new bedroom set were mutilated, Onc has the top corner shaved right off. None on my furniture was wrapped as it was being taken down to the new unit. I filed my claim, and sent the pictures, I received a letter from the stating they have 90 days. I emailed Christy back and asked her to please get this resolved soon, as I am having major back surgery on the 29th of August. The reply I received was "they have 90 days from the date of the claim**. The entire purpose of the move was to be settled and not be stressing about something like this. After giving a pretty negative review to my most recent movers here in Nashville, I had to come back and give 4 stars of good review to Apache who did my move last December, 2011 and again in May 2012. I used the same 2 guys each time...I want to say their names were Vic and Anthony?? Anyway, sometimes you don't realize how great you had it until you have to use someone else. These guys were on an hour by hour rate and they got everything done each time in less than 2 hours. The first move was from a 3 bedroom house to a storage unit and the second move was just from storage unit to moving truck. These guys are HARD workers and they are fast. No lolly gagging here. They could have been just a bit gentler with some items. I had a pretty expensive brushed aluminum trash can get dropped and messed up, but it's a move and if that's the worst that happened, so be it. I also called and emailed at least 5 times to get a receipt of my first move emailed or mailed (I lost the original in the move) and never received it. used these guys by word of mouth 1. was quoted ~$2k+ for an itemized move w/ four movers to move from one house to another - came to the house and took inventory - our closing date changed so we had to change our plans to load into pods, store for a bit, and unload pods to new house - the pods cost was from a different business - so no change in quantity to be moved, just a pod rather than a truck 2. owner suggested changing to hourly to supposedly save money 3. they sent two people to move a family of 10's belongings - so obviously the cost/mover/hour was much higher and it took much more time 4. half of our move cost more than the original quote! would not offer satisfactory resolution 5. the movers themselves were nice but didn't move quite a bit of small items left around house and took several sh*ts in our bathroom! without "pausing" the billing - left trash everywhere (i.e. water bottles, etc.) read more
