These people were amazing. I called them last week once I knew the approximate date we were closing in our house and they were able to fit us in Sunday for the move. We chose to do the itemized just to see what it was and it was it was unbelievably affordable. I forgot a few items and they added it on for me at a cost that was still amazing. I used Apache because, of all the movers I called, they quoted the best price for my move. I took off two stars because I had to be on top of them to find out the status of my move. They didn't call to confirm my appointment the day before as they said they would and they didn't call to let me know they were running an hour late due to a prior appointment being delayed. I have a lot of heavy delicate furniture, the movers took the time to wrap the furniture for limited scratches. I was moving from a high rise apartment in downtown. You have to book service elevator time there. I booked movers for slot between 12 and 3pm. They came at 5pm. So we had to use the normal elevator, everything took double time. Of course they charged me for the extra time. I was supposed to have 3 movers, only 2 came and one of them was injured so he was only carrying smaller items and dropping a lot on the floor. They chipped my furniture and made marks on my walls in the new house. They left some items in the apartment so I had to go back and get them myself. Avoid at all cost. read more

Bottom line up front for those who just want a synopsis: Had a horrible experience with Apache moving. Contacted the owner in an attempt to get things rectified. He basically told me there was nothing he could do to help me. He then told me he would talk to the crew and call me back. It has been over 2 weeks and I never heard back from him. While I had some issues with the actual move, the unprofessionalism of the owner was definitely the worst. I wouldn't ever hire Apache Moving Services again. Details for those who wish to know more: I was given the choice of an hourly rate or a flat rate move. I chose the flat rate thinking that the move wouldn't be rushed since it wasn't being timed, etc. Hind sight being 20/20, it was admittedly my mistake though the options were not thoroughly described to me. The day started badly when the crew arrived with a trailer that was not big enough to handle the amount of items that needed to be moved (despite me telling the person scheduling my moves multiple times that I had two 10X25 storage units completely full.) Therefore, we had to make two trips to get the job accomplished - essentially wasting nearly an hour of my time. The driver/lead mover was nasty and wanted to do nothing but argue with me the entire day. The move was not conducted to my standard. There was nothing put down on my carpets to protect them and consequently, I now have multiple black marks to contend with. The movers put things in wrong places despite being told where they should have been placed. (Because I was outside directing the boxes as they came off the truck, I could not see what was happening in my house.) The real kicker was that the driver/lead mover, John, told me that when they are hired on the hourly rate, they work slower - in essence gouging their customers, taking additional time so that the customer has to pay more. When I told the owner, Terry, what was said, he said nothing to contradict that. In fact, he basically agreed with the statement. I was stunned. I could go on and on and if anyone wants all of the details, please let me know. The bottom line though is that I paid over $800 for a job that would have cost me less than $500 if I had hired under the hourly rate (and they worked at the same speed). I now have to hire someone else to come in and move heavy items to the right places, put things together, etc. so I will be out additional money. The owner of the company flat refused to either refund part of my money or send me two guys to finish the job. Poor customer service from the owner down (except for one person I spoke to on the phone who was as helpful as could be - thank you, Trevor and the assistant mover who worked his tail off and stayed out of the drama caused by the driver - thanks, Eddie! These two were the only redeeming qualities about this company but unfortunately not redeeming enough to hire them again.) read more

We moved from South Austin to Pflugerville, and after many offers by different movers, we decided to use Apache, due to their personalized attention. We gave them a list of everything we wanted them to move. They gave us a quote for the cost, including a additional stop to drop off furniture at a relatives house. We were able to except their cost, as it was very reasonable. The movers arrived almost on time, even though they were coming through traffic to south Austin from Leander. There were two movers that helped us with our move, and unfortunately I don't remember their names. Both were very professional and accommodating and everything that we asked them. They were careful with the things that they moved, and they were able to keep both places from being damaged by the furniture even though the house we were moving out was a two story. No damage was done in the stairs. We plan to use Apache for any further moving that we do because of their quality of professional movers and their reasonable prices. read more

I moved from NC to Austin using a POD. I quickly found out that most of the apartment complexes I was looking at, including the one I ended moving into, do not accommodate PODs because the company requires you to keep it for 24hrs. I had to hire movers to unload the POD then drive it to my apartment. The guys did a great job getting everything unloaded and put in the truck quickly. They were very efficient moving my furniture into my new place. I only am giving 4 stars because both workers were on their phones the entire time they were working. I also noticed some damage to one of my covered chairs that was not there when unloading the POD. Although they were efficient, I wish they had been more careful with my belongings. Would still recommend then for hire. read more

I have used Apache numerous times because of the service and reliability and I'm extremely picky because I have an older upright piano and these folks are extra careful moving furniture like this. My most recent move was out of town (60 miles one way) and the 2 movers sent out (can't read the names on receipt) were on time, fast, professional, and handled my items very carefully. Polite, punctual, and affordable, but were not careful with our furniture. They threw our bedding on the floor in a random place and put extra nicks and cracks in our furniture. If I had nicer furniture, I would be more upset. But I guess since we already had a few dings they thought we wouldn't mind? In response this is 100% a lie about a week after the move we called and informed you or whatever manager was on call and informed y'all of the missing box and wrench and the employees in fact told us to assist them so it got done faster and would tell my fiancé to assist moving the couch and lift the table to make it easier, I totally understand taking water breaks I want the best and hope for nothing bad of the workers but there was no communication when traveling 2min down the road to the new apartment that they were going to stop somewhere that lasted around 30min and who is to say they didn't go and look though our things and take our stuff now that we know at least one box is missing, we as well we're not told to write on the boxes where they were suppose to go. Victor and Timothy moved me 150 miles on a really hot day in July and did a fabulous job. They were on time, nice and worked efficiently without damaging any of my furniture. When we got to my new place, they arranged everything exactly the way I wanted it, put all the boxes in the right rooms, and they even helped my dad take the door off a room in my apartment and then re-hung it for me, so that we could get the dryer in. A move is stressful enough that you don't need stress with the movers! Here's all that went wrong with the Apache Moving 1. There is a difference between an estimate and a quote. A moving company should not say they are sending a fixed price quote after doing a in person inspection and then when the movers show up they say that they gave only an estimate and it looks like there is a lot more stuff and its going to take probably 50 boxes instead of 30 and they are going to charge you for extra boxes. Is it so hard to not mislead people and not call it a fixed price quote and say it's ONLY an estimate? Fortunately the total number of boxes was not 50 but it was an unpleasant start. 2. Insurance - People don't want to risk a $1500 tv moved uninsured. I asked and I was told everything was insured. Apparently everything is insured by pound. So if my TV had gotten damaged - I would have got $60 for it. Is it so hard to tell customers that expensive electronics are insured by weight, I was told this once the move started. Then given a quote of $150 to insure a $1500 tv and advised to call my insurance company. I was on the phone calling farmers on Saturday trying to get insurance. Insured! Really? Insurance of 60 cents for a pound isn't really insurance. Couldn't they tell me before? 3. They did the inventory themselves in person - we didn't submit it to them. We told them everything in the house will go - then during the move , why would a mover charge me extra for misc. stuff that cannot be boxed? It was not a big amount but really for brooms and a small Basil plant ? It's not right for sales people to underestimate and then charge people at the last minute. Good companies don't do that. What went well - the guys who came were friendly and took care when taking stuff down from our apartment to our new house. read more

Update: Apache representative called me Tuesday I believe his name was Jerry. Probably one of the most unprofessional and argumentative people I've ever spoken to. He offered to pay for the bookcase that was stolen if I removed the review. At one point he was yelling at me that I needed to read things before I sign them. I believe what he was referring to is the paragraph on contract that you sign once your property has been moved and you sign saying you have received everything. When you have a garage and house full of boxes and furniture it's impossible to do an inventory on the spot and make sure each and every item have been moved. I did nothing wrong. I paid Apache a significant amount of money to move my belongings from point a to point b and because an item is missing i was yelled at by Jerry their representative. He tried his best to intimidate me but was unsuccessful. Just another reason I will never recommend this company to any of my clients or friends. read more

Our originally scheduled movers (name will be left unmentioned) tried to switch our schedule around the day before our move... SOOO we had no choice but to look for a more dependable moving company at the last minute (we had a tight itinerary). My hero of a wife tried calling 14 other moving companies and lucky number 15 was Apache. Not only were they able to squeeze us in on our original moving day but they even got there a little earlier which was a plus for us! This is the first time I've hired movers and it was a great experience. We did a residential move and the billing was a simple hourly rate. I was in complete control of how long they were there. At no time were the movers being reckless with the time. They were literally running back to the house after securing each item in their trailer. They moved far faster than I expected them to. They disassembled the furniture and reassembled it perfectly. They took care never to "scoot" items across our floor and would only lift, then move. They protected our door ways with blankets and plastic wrap to make sure they didn't damage it. They put down a red carpet to prevent the dolly from leaving marks on the floor. They wrapped our furniture in plastic wrap and blankets and secured them with straps to the walls of their trailer. They didn't stop to eat, drink, socialize, break, rest or take a phone call. They arrived exactly when they said they would and called when they were 10 minutes out. They were considerate in the placement of their truck so as to minimize disruption of my neighbors and even used traffic cones. They also sprayed themselves down body spray to not leave odors (an odd thing to do but makes complete sense given that it was 104 degrees). They wore masks when they met me and offered to complete the move with them on (I told them they didn't need to do it). I've never had movers before, but I do believe the bar was set very high. Nothing was damaged in either house nor were any of my things damaged. They did this job dramatically better and faster than I was planning on doing it. Joshua was WONDERFUL. He's young, yet exceptionally professional in demeanor and language. He and his partner were extremely efficient, even though I was on the tail end of their shift. Once again Apache Moving has come through for me. Jason and Josh were champions among men yesterday. Not only were they prompt and on time, but they took the care to make sure my furniture and home were protected during the move. Normally I do hourly but I've added a bunch of larger furniture and was moving to a split level home, so I decided to try out itemized this time. Jason was upfront and honest about any changes to the itemized list and checked for approval before we did anything. Jason and Josh are both champions in my eyes, upon getting to my new location I had to ask them to move a 400lb elliptical machine to the second floor. I have no idea how they managed to do this, but when it was all over my house was unscathed, the elliptical wasn't damaged and they were still standing. I may not ever move again, but if I do I'm calling these guys! read more

I would highly highly recommend not using Apache. They treat their customers awfully. The movers demanded that I give them my key fob when moving me out and failed to give me the key fob back at the end of the move. I asked them to mail me the key so I didn't get a large charge from my old place and they sent it to the wrong address. Then, on top of all that they told me that there was nothing else they could do once they sent it to the wrong address and that I was just going to have to pay for the key fob myself, despite the whole mess being THEIR fault. Stay away from these guys, they don't give a damn about their customers Response: The movers asked to borrow my key fob, when people borrow something typically it's incumbent upon them to return it. The reason I waited is because I was told that the movers would drive down and return the keys to me. After nearly two weeks of waiting and not getting the keys returned to me I suggested that the keys be mailed to me in hopes of that being more convenient for Apache. Apache mailed them to the wrong address. I was told a few days ago when I called in that Apache did not not know when or if the keys would be sent back. I was also told that if they do not get returned back then there is nothing Apache could do to fix the situation or help with the fact that I would be charged. In either instance, it doesn't matter because the $100 charge that I have to pay as a result has already been applied. I don't mean to shame anyone, but I hope you can see how as a customer who has to pay $100 as a result of the situation how it would be frustrating. read more

These guys are so inept at their job. I suggest you not use their services. The guys showed up on time however when the lead guy was busy the other worker just stood and watched. This turned out to be very costly, The lead guy started taking apart the bed frame, but was struggling saying he had to borrow some tools from another worker so he did have the right tools. After awhile I started timing him. It took him 40 minutes to take the bed frame apart. That was only the beginning as then the TV stand was a problem. Bottom line it doubled the quote of $200 to $400. I called the scheduling foreman and explained this situation and he said he would get back to me. After a month he has not returned my calls or replied. Don't take a chance with your money with these losers. read more
