I rarely take the time to actually leave a review, but I have to say, James and Chris did a fantastic job with the pickup and loading of my items. It's my first time using a moving service as my family and friends normally help. I opted to make this easier for me to handle with my move and hired Apache Moving and Storage. Ana was very helpful and professional over the phone and via email and took time to answer all of my questions and they provided the best rate out of the many companies I called. James and Chris called to let me know their expected arrival time and after going over the paperwork, they immediately began grabbing boxes and got started. They took the time to shrink wrap items such as my couch and various stands to make sure they were well protected. They were friendly and professional. They worked quickly but still still asked and answered question and had occasionally conversations. I'm sure the delivery will go as smoothly as the pickup. 10/10 would hire them again. read more

YEARS ago, "Apache" was a moving company whom I could recommend to my clients with a happy heart. NEVER AGAIN...have you ever seen so many unhappy reviews in such a short span of time? This is the reason you are looking to read reviews; to be warned! There were two people dispatched to pack my client's home. One did nothing but complain the entire time he was there, was surly and obviously hated his job. He had a "done hard time" vibe and appearance about him which was not pleasant for my client to be around or to ask him for or to do anything. The other guy was ok and at first started packing and working in a very focused manner..this did not last. I don't believe either of these people had received any training or instruction about packing OR moving..a monkey could have packed with the same level of expertise. Large glass pieces packed on their sides at the bottom of boxes? Really? I actually went to my client's new home to help her UNpack and was horrified..I actually took a few photos while there of the damage...but I think the capper was the amount quoted for the job seems to have changed mid-transaction with an attitude. My client shared with me that the owner credited her some "time" for a few of the broken pieces but as the unpacking continues and the number of casualties mount, so does my client's blood pressure. There are a LOT of movers out there...if you are reading reviews and it looks like even 30% are negative, what more do you need to know?This company is clearly inconsistent. MOVE ON! You don't know WHICH Apache you will get...the 5 star review or the very real possibility that you will have a move like this one or one of the many other unhappy customers... I will NEVER refer these movers to any of my clients again and will also be posting a warning to other Realtors about poor management as well as "day labor" level movers. read more

I had an A++ experience starting with a pleasant return call from Farrah who answered all my questions and was able to schedule my move with only a 2 week notice. Communication was great! Geraldo, Caleb and Nate were respectful, courteous, professional and worked quickly moving my household belongings. Quoted a much shorter time. Couple damaged pieces and no returned calls about a misplaced item. Probably worth it if you go for three movers as one will just be packing in the back of the truck. Everyone was reasonably pleasant. Guy who went to Georgetown high was a very diligent worker. 50/50 on using them again. Not a frustration free experience but maybe moving never is. read more

Original scheduled time was 12pm-3pm window, then it turned into a 2pm-5pm, they arrived at almost 5pm. They stated they usually do 2 moves per day and this was their third added by whoever the power that be is. I called at 2,:05pm and was told they were approximately 30 minutes from finishing up the last move and would call when en route. I called at 3pm, again told it would be about 30 minutes they were a little behind and the would call en route. At 4pm office closed could only leave a message. They called at 4:21pm saying they were approximately 20 minutes away. It was about 30 minutes later when they showed. They went over a contract to sign then started. They had already done 2 other moves so they looked pretty tired and were slowing down the last 1/2 hour at the old apartment. We arrived at the new location at about 15 minutes before them. They look spent and having added an extra move I'm sure they are tired but we've been waiting since 1:30pm and it's 7:54 and they aren't even 1/4 of the way done. I rented a moving company to make it easier on my son but he has been working just as hard trying to help and waiting almost 7 maybe 8 hours. We have been waiting in the new apartment for a while since they were last in with a load of anything. I'm frustrated, tired, feel incredibly bad for my son who has been here for most of the day and has started to help put things away so the movers could hurry and go back downstairs to get more stuff since the time is passing by. I also do not have my bed. My son will have to go tomorrow and get the bed since the mover said he had a drill but not the bits so they could not take apart the bed. This has been the worst experience I've ever had and will never use this service. I should have read the reviews first... being late, short staffed is something that is common. The two movers were great, they were friendly but you could see they were dog tired. Again, read the reviews (1) LATE (2) short staffed (3) don't have tools. Can't believe I paid for an incomplete move. This companies saving grace was their people. Tired as they were they stayed friendly and I never heard them complain. Response: if not all my furniture was moved on the scheduled day due to not having tools while paying for hourly service then it IS an incomplete move as not all the furniture was moved on the day scheduled while I was paying an hourly rate for your service. (Hourly rate means that I was willing to pay for the number of hours it took to complete the job). How many trucks go down or how short staffed you are should not be the responsibility of the customer as they are counting on a service to be done correctly and efficiently and those other factors should not be their fault or problem. Per the negative reviews the issues you described appear to be common and cannot be excused as one time incidents. If you've been in business as long as you have then you are well aware of the potential problems that could arise and should ensure that all trucks are always equipped with needed tools and that your employees are not overworked to the point that it affects production. Kudos to the young men who did move us for not complaining about scheduling that was beyond their control. read more

Oh my god this moving and storage company is AMAZING!! Jarod and his team are top notch.. They moved my daughter and us 2 weeks apart and from her move then ours all I can say is WOW!! The moved some of our heaviest items like they were nothing, they took such good care in wrapping and caring for our items, asking which items go or stay. Did I mention the price was a great rate and I shopped, but after moving my daughter I looked no more. I needed to be moved within just a few days and Apache was thankfully able to accommodate me. They offered me a couple different pricing options, and I chose the hourly rate with 3 crew members. Adam and his crew, Fernando and Tyrol, were really great. Their previous project looked to be bigger than anticipated, so Adam called me right away and let me know that there may be a delay to moving me. He kept in touch with me all thru the day and when they showed up, they were fast, efficient, and stayed until the job was thoroughly done. I called Apache moving and spoke with Eddie who gave me the best quote (flat rate) as I was moving from Lago Vista to Georgetown.. I gave them an inventory of All my items I wanted moved. There were no hidden fees or surprises. Benny, Isaiah and Mike C. were the awesome movers who showed up to help me move, on time with a call ahead before they arrived. We did a walk-thru confirming all the items I wanted moved and they quickly and efficiently got everything packed (wrapped mirrors, TV, furniture, etc) and got me moved into my 2nd place apartment within no time. These guys were great! Adam and Jared were super communicative and profesh. And I don't even know how it was humanly possible to get my ridiculously heavy giant dresser up the stairs. I have lots of furniture and did a mediocre job packing (lots of smaller items and big tubs without lids). VERY VERY UNPROFESSIONAL. BETTER GO WITH OTHER MOVERS. I booked an appointment with them to move my stuff. They sent an email confirming the move and also deducted $100 dollars in advance. On the day of moving after waiting for 30 mins I called them to discover that they cancelled my move. They said that i called them last week to cancel my appointment but i was pretty sure i didn't call them and there was no call to them in my call logs. When asked for confirmation email about cancelling, they said they don't send confirmation email for cancelling and also didn't refund the money until i asked them. Impressive! I started the process by providing an inventory on their website for a 20% discount. Eddie contacted me the following day to discuss the quote in detail, which was $400 cheaper than the previous 2 quotes from their competitors. A week before the move I added a stop at a nearby storage unit to pack up my items - I'd hoped I would be able to sell everything and/or clean out the unit before the move. Eddie updated the quote for me by adding a reasonable $100. James and David we're extremely professional, efficient and courteous. They arrived on time at 8:15 loaded up my 1BR apt in a little over an hour and headed to the storage unit. We were on the road by 12:30 to San Antonio. Upon arrival they unloaded the storage contents to my new storage then headed to my new apt to begin unloading there. We were done by 2:15 Total time 6 hrs (including a 2hr drive to SA) for $880. Ok, here are just a few details...they came by (ready to roll I thought) on time, but decided to go to home dep for supplies. Really?? They came back in an HOUR (from just blocks away @ 7pm) with brown paper & tape. NO plastic wrap, NO cushioning products of any kind (bubble wrap, padded paper, etc etc) and had NO wrapping blankets or anything for a move in the truck. read more

They were over four hours late. We had to call them to see if they were coming. They did not bring the correct size truck or enough straps to do the job. We wound up moving several large items ourselves. The large items that they did move were damaged. They complained about their previous customers to us. Well marked fragile items were stacked upside down under heavy items on the truck and on the dolly. The mover shrugged when we politely asked him to restack them then removed one off the top, set it on the ground and walked away. Thankfully we only had a few boxes of broken dishes as a result. We had to argue with them to get them to stabilize the washer before they moved it, they insisted that it was supposed to be done after the washer was moved. We had a desk that we didn't want the legs removed because one of them has issues, we let them know about it when we scheduled the move. They removed them without saying anything. When we got to the new place they said they would put the one with the issue back. Instead of reinstalling the difficult one, they put one of the easy ones back on. They broke an unopened bottle of detergent all over the laundry room, garage and several boxes of irreplaceable items after telling us it couldn't be moved. They didn't even offer to clean it up. At the end of the day we were out several hundred dollars and were exhausted and frustrated from not only having to move ourselves but cleaning up the mess that they left behind. I move every two years, and this is the worst experience I have had by far. read more

I appreciate the owners response. However I stand by the fact that if movers are having issues figuring out how to dissemble furniture, then I think it's fair to just ask the client for guidance. It was only disappointing because I weighed this option carefully in deciding hourly vs. Itemized. If i'm promised movers that are handy and know how to assemble/dissemble/wrap things then that's how the business should operate. To the owner, I said positive things about the company as well as gave praise for the guys. They were friendly and professional, and thank you for clearing up the small talk comment.... overall, the time it took was the main issue. Yes, I realize I could have directly contacted the company about these issues instead of writing a yelp review, however, as a customer I like to give honest feedback to help other customers out; that feedback being I've used faster moving services in the past, that are a little more knowledgable with dissembling furniture. Recently needed movers to relocate from two separate apartments into a house and called up Apache based on a friend's recommendation. Melinda was very helpful in getting a quote together and scheduling the appointment. Since I called somewhat last minute - I didn't get the exact date I wanted but did get something that worked with my schedule. On the anticipated day, the move got started a little later than expected due to an unforeseen problem with the trailer that they had to fix before getting on the road. Good news was that they were very quick on the communication and kept me well-informed to help manage expectations. James, Sammy and Austin were the three guys that did our move. They were very professional, courteous, and friendly throughout the entire move. The whole thing happened very quickly - taking them only three hours when we were anticipating about four.
