I rarely leave negative reviews, but this experience at AP Rooftop was disappointing enough to motivate me. The rooftop itself is beautiful. The views are fantastic, the atmosphere is great, and we were genuinely excited to spend the evening there. I arrived with two friends and my service dog. Unfortunately, the service was extremely slow. We waited quite a while just to place our food order, and after ordering, we waited approximately an hour for our food to arrive. During that time, my dog had not even been offered water. If you don't want animals in your establishment we were more than happy to move on. We later learned there was a shift change taking place, which may explain some of the delays, but it certainly did not improve the experience. We also ordered an Aperol Spritz that was being advertised downstairs. It arrived noticeably flat, but we chose not to complain because we were trying to enjoy the evening. To provide some context, our table ordered ceviche, sliders, and two pizzas. This was not a particularly large or complicated order, yet we still waited approximately an hour for the food to arrive. When it finally did, some of it was served less than hot. Despite the delays and quality issues, we remained patient and polite, we wanted to enjoy the evening and the beautiful setting and we were hungry after a ling day at the beach. The most frustrating part happened after we had already been seated for over an hour and our food had finally arrived. A manager approached to confirm that my dog was a service animal because he had been instructed to do so. We answered his questions and explained that we would be leaving soon anyway. A few minutes later, General Manager Connor Anderson came to our table and insisted that my dog either be placed on the floor immediately or that we move outside. What made the situation so unreasonable was the timing. We had already been seated for over an hour, our drinks had been served, our order had been taken, and our food had finally arrived. I had literally just taken my first bite of pizza when this issue was suddenly raised. Had management addressed this concern when we were first seated, I would have respected their position and made a decision then. Instead, they waited until after we had spent over an hour at the restaurant and had finally begun eating before forcing the issue. My friends and I were actually considering moving outside, but the manner in which the conversation was handled felt unnecessarily confrontational and hostile. Rather than continue an uncomfortable interaction, we asked for our food to be packed to go and left. To their credit, the staff ultimately removed the flat Aperol Spritz from our bill and also removed a beer that we never had the opportunity to drink because the situation had already escalated and we were leaving. While I appreciate that gesture, it did not make up for the overall experience or the way the situation was handled. Several employees appeared visibly uncomfortable during the interaction and seemed frustrated by the way the situation was being handled. While the service staff had been polite throughout the evening, the management approach completely changed the tone of the experience. Instead of resolving the issue professionally, it felt as though customer experience, common sense, and the efforts of the staff were being disregarded. We left feeling that the situation had been unnecessarily escalated when a calm conversation could have easily resolved it. AP Rooftop has an incredible location and beautiful views, but hospitality is about more than scenery. What should have been an enjoyable evening ended with us feeling unwelcome and rushed out after already investing significant time and money into the experience. The view earns five stars. Unfortunately, the service, timing, and management of this situation did not. read more

Must try!!! We tried to book a reservation and didn't see anything available however, we showed up around 8pm and were able to easily get a spot for 3. Everything from the ambiance, service, food, and drink was phenomenal. I ordered the juice is loose cocktail which was very refreshing. For mains, we split skirt steak, chicken Milanese, and lemon bucatini. I was blown away by all 3 and can't wait to come back to try more! read more

Absolutely loved my visit here. The food was outstanding! The skirt steak with orzo noodles and homemade ricotta was out of this world good. The green goddess mocktail is super yummy. The view by the window is great! we weren't at a high top so the view is slightly blocked but it's still gorgeous. We had the corner table by the door so got more views. Temperature was great inside. Service was good and she was super friendly but I think they are understaffed so a few times we waited longer than expected for her to come back to us or for the dessert menu. Adding that parking is on the street around several blocks and not for the specific restaurant. We got lucky with a spot out front but you might have to walk far. All in all I will be back very soon! read more

Located on the top floor with beautiful views of the beach. It also is right next to stadium style seating where live entertainment was playing. Service was excellent and very attentive. They really knew and catered to their customers. Happy hour drinks were fantastic, $10 cocktails. Definitely the way to go. Food was good overall. I think the burger could have been better. But everything else was really good. Would definitely come here again. read more

What a FANTASTIC date night with my love in Asbury Park! Best dinner ever at @aprooftop Cocktail was so pretty! With rose petals and bud! We ordered 2 of the specials burrata appetizer & shrimp entree! So delicious! Hubby enjoyed his pork chop! The Mango tiramisu was light and refreshingly sweet treat! The highlight of my night was meeting Survivor 47 Teeny! I am the biggest Survivor fan! Since the very first season! Teeny was so kind and genuine! We talked a bit about the current Survivor season! Appreciated the 15% off for Nurses' Week Thank you AP Rooftop! Excited about AP Bandshell and the upcoming events! See you soon!! read more

I started top of the boardwalk and AP had a massive patio. There are stadium style seats with bright orange pillows and cushioned seats for informal lounging. At the bottom of this area is a stage and table seating. The bar tender was super nice and fixed me a spritz with rosemary. Very refreshing. I took a seat and enjoyed the summer sun and boardwalk view. I would definitely recommend stopping in for a cocktail. read more

We were treated to dinner at this fine establishment and we totally enjoyed the experience. The decor is industrial eco chic, the vibe is relaxed and easy. Our server Tini was warm, friendly, professional, and attentive. Our cocktails were Smoke Signal, La Vie En Rose and Spritzing the Night Away, all were perfectly made (love the names) . For our appetizers we had the Lamb chops, AP Meatball, Duck Confit Wings and Calamari Piccata. All were flavorful and perfectly prepared, side note the portion sizes are pretty generous. Now for the entrees, we had the Double Chop, Salmon and Lobster and shrimp special. OMG all the dishes were hot and delicious and beautifully presented. Finally for dessert pistachio flour less cake, chocolate cake and espresso cheese cake. The perfect ending to a great meal. read more

Currently my new favorite place on the boardwalk. A little upscale. A lot classy. A quiet reprieve from the loudness of a beach day. I love the decor just as much as I love the food. My absolute favorite is the Baked Brie. I've had the octopus and I've had the salad but trust me when I say get the brie. Simple and delicious. Service has always been stellar, especially the bartenders. read more

One of my favorite things to do is accidentally stumble upon beautiful places. I walked into AP Rooftop on a Sunday afternoon not knowing quite what to expect. I took the elevator to the third floor and was greeted by a darkly lit dining room and floor-to-ceiling views of the ocean. Outside, there are orange pillows lining the steps, an outdoor bar (there's an indoor one too for those of us who lose every battle against New Jersey mosquitoes), and one of the prettiest views of Asbury I've seen. I ordered a glass of Prosecco, grabbed a seat overlooking the beach, and spent an hour or two wondering why I don't do things like this more often. I didn't order any food, so I can't comment on the menu. What I can tell you is that I left wishing I had stayed longer. Five stars for reminding me that summer afternoons don't have to be any more complicated than a good view and a glass of something bubbly. read more

Food and drinks were amazing here. We came with friends and all ordered different specialty cocktails -- all fantastic. There was a DJ on the Sunday night we were there which was a nice surprise. Our party of 4 really enjoyed the vibe, the food and drinks. We came here around 7pm and closed the place down at 11pm. I really wished it was open later. Our waitress Tini was so sweet and helpful. Tini really made our night a memorable one. Great service for sure! The place is beautiful, lots of greenery and Pinterest worthy. read more

Amazing location, food and vibes at this super classy, beautiful restaurant! We came for brunch on a Sunday they had a DJ too!! I'm not sure where to start, an absolutely stunning restaurant with full bar, windows all around with ocean views, and historic downtown waterfront Asbury Park! The drinks are top-notch, the food is fantastic! We've come here for dinner and brunch. This time I was here for brunch and the selections are unique and incredibly delicious! I had eggs with tomatoes, onions, and peppers and sourdough toast. Others in our group had steak and eggs, other side, chicken, and waffles. The food is just great! They have a wonderful bar. It makes terrific drinks. I had a craft beer that was wonderful! There's parking on the street outside, you have to pay for parking in Asbury PARK but we never have trouble getting a spot. On Sunday also parking is free! Highly recommended for unique, incredibly fun and delicious place to visit! read more

Let me start by saying the service was amazing. The food was awful. Bland, unseasoned, uninspired, overpriced. The cocktails weren't great either, the best part of the tomato tomahto was the zaatar salt rim. We ordered the AP meatball, Whipped Feta Dip, Sliders, and Charred Pineapple salad. We had to add salt and pepper to all of our food. The herbed butter completely saved the sliders. The Charred pineapple salad seemed to come with a different dressing than advertised, and upon ordering the correct dressing, was still terrible. Be advised: The AP meatball was only one meatball for $14 Come for the rooftop view, leave quickly after. Good luck folks read more

I've been wanting to hit a rooftop this summer, so I'm glad I got to check out AP Rooftop. I visited on a Sunday with a group of ladies from a social club. We ended up with a pretty large group and when more people showed up than what was expected, they were accommodating and created space for the extra people. Once you enter this space, the views and vibe are lovely. This restaurant sits on the beach, so depending on where you are, you get a nice ocean view. The bar area of the restaurant is nice as well. I ordered the Sunsets in Valencia drink. It's a spritz cocktail that was very refreshing. For food, I went with the naan tacos and a side salad. I loved both. The tacos were filled with chicken tikka masala. They were yummy. I just wish they had a little more chicken in them. Overall, I could see myself returning, even if it's just to sit at the bar. However, I would advise against going here early in the day during the weekend in summer, unless you live in the area. If you're from or visited the Jersey Shore during the summer, you know the deal. Parking can be a challenge, as it was for myself and a few others in my group. It took me 45 minutes to find a spot. I absolutely refused to pay $50 for the nearby parking garage. It can be a pain battling it out for parking with the beach goers in summer, so be prepared for that. read more

Excellent happy hour with ocean and sunset views. Cozy in the winter time with fireplaces and lounge areas. Happy hour is only at the bar or on some of the couches. Excellent prices and very generous food portions, wine pours, etc. . Arrive early to get a seat, it's very popular even in the dead of winter. I can't imagine what it's like in the summer! Had chopped salad, baked oysters, tzatziki. People next to us had a cheeseboard that looked amazing, and there were many pizzas being served. Will be back! read more

Came on a busy evening in late August. Had a drink on the patio before moving inside to a table. The ocean view was incredible! Staff was efficient and helpful. I recently visited Asbury Park and had dinner at AP Rooftop on the first night. That night my friend and I shared the Beetroot Hummus and I had the Brussels salad with skirt steak. I also ordered the Spritzin the Night Away mocktail. The drink was great and I fell in love with the salad. The steak was perfectly cooked. The hummus was good but nothing to write home about. A couple of nights later, we ended up at AP Rooftop again and I'd love the salad so much I ordered it a second time. My friend tried the Chopped Salad and the Mediterranean Salad and loved both. We thought the service was good and the ambiance is very inviting. They even gave me extra figs when I asked for them! I'd absolutely visit AP Rooftop again. read more

Ambience is wonderful and they have an elevator to gain access to the restaurant. Service is outstanding. The presentation of the dishes ordered also stunning. I ordered the lobster roll that comes with a salad. The salad was terrific. The lobster roll is disappointing. The amount of lobster was typical and what you would expect. The roll it is served on was awful. It was very thick, dry (maybe stale?) and essentially made it difficult to eat unless you discarded it. I might try again but I definitely would not order the lobster roll. read more

3rd time here. 1st time in summer. They have a real nice happy hour. Inside bar was full (where happy hour applies) but they also honor it outside which is great for warmer weather. Got to look out over the beach and boardwalk scene. A bit breezy gusty when we went along the sidewall though, blew the beer bottle over on the table! So be alert lol. We caught it. A new rooftop with beautiful views of the beach in Asbury Park! We made a reservation for lunch on a Saturday right when it opened (this was last month) but there were still plenty of tables/bar seats available. The smoked pepperoni pizza was definitely the hit, packed with flavor and plenty of crispy pepperoni and peppers. The lobster roll was delicious and very filling as well. Our only complaint was that the fries were listed as truffle fries on the menu, but we just received regular fries. Not sure if that was a mix up in the kitchen or they changed their recipe without updating the menu. Also, the fries needed more salt. Still, we'll certainly dine here again and look forward to trying the dinner menu. read more

Omg! Friday night and the bar was hopping! We managed to score two seats! Bamm! On top of that- Connor- best bartender on the Jersey Shore! We ordered two martinis which were awesome! Followed up by multiple apps- chopped salad (a must), tzatziki dip, and a meatball pizza! All so tasty and throughout it all Connor was changing our plates and making our second round of drinks. He chatted us up even though the bar was super busy. This guy has it down pat. Personable and makes a mean drink. Connor- you rock and we hope to see you soon! read more

Last night was our fifth time at AP Rooftop, and all five visits were great! The place is very nice, the staff courteous and helpful, and the food was delicious. (Once, a steak was a bit too rare, but my companion didn't want to send it back- I would have) This time, we had some oysters, octopus, and shrimp to start (all very yummy), Branzino and two of the double pork chops (one 'medium-well', one 'well', and they were right on the money). The sides were good, and the wine- while a little pricey- was excellent! Our waitress- Destiny - was very nice, but if you're lucky enough to have Alison, you've hit the top of the charts as far as professionalism goes. We'll be back! read more

We did NOT try to sit outside where everybody wants to be on one of the busiest weekends of the year 4th of July (though it is a beautiful view.) We sat where we were put (because hostesses have a rotation they need to follow,) next to the windows and it was still beautiful! They did accommodate us because the AC was dripping on the table given the humidity outside. Not the restaurant's fault, that's nature, and they were happy to scoot us to a table not under the system. Our server was perfectly attentive, had a great personality joking around with us, food and drinks came out quick (we were trying to get to a show at the Lanes,) and the drinks were perfectly strong. I got a normal margarita ($14) first that was balanced well, then opted for the fun Lost In Translation ($17) but I wish I could've taken that glass home! (See video) The food was INCREDIBLE!! We got the chef housemade bread (YES. GET IT! $6) I got the naan tacos (almost shredded chicken and yes the flavor is great without it being too spicy. $14) He got the oven roasted spiced wings that came with a cheese sauce below it that was so delicious we mopped it up with the bread. $18 The ONLY downfall is the fact the sandwiches and paninis are only available until 4pm. We wanted to try the chicken one. We will 10000% be back and I can't wait! Overall the night cost $93 (with tip,) which in today's world actually isn't bad for the quality of food and drinks. read more

Rooftop bar was nothing special. Drinks were ok. They had a live dj playing super loud music.

The happy hour food menu does not offer too much variety. A little disappointing. Also, I had the lobster roll. It was super dry. Too much "bread: for the amount of lobster. The service was great. To young ladies behind the bar were friendly. The ambiance is also good because you are looking at the ocean...So super nice. Vibe: 5 Food: 3 Service: 1. Location: 5 Ok it's summer. You're over a year old - staff for the tables you book! 20 minutes for 2 glasses of wine. 40 minutes for 2 cocktails. One completely wrong. Asked for ice for warm table water. Never came. Got it myself. When server finally came with cocktails 'oh good someone got you ice' he says. I said yes. I GOT IT. no response. My tacos were cold. Lunch service is definitely lacking. Sat outside, the view is beautiful. The service, not great. The black silverware was dirty to start, if you're going to have dark silver wear, least make sure it's clean not crusted with food. The service was slow, the restaurant was not busy no reason for delayed greeting. Ordered cocktails, it took close to 20 mins, while good not worth the wait. Also, perhaps giggling at the cocktail name as a customer orders it as feels strange, are you not familiar with the menu? Chose a pizza from their menu, it's was just ok. The Pepperoni could've been crispier and the sesame seeds on the crust, while I didn't hate don't match the flavor profile in my opinion. Getting a second drink we had to just about wave our napkin at our server. While the ambiance of this place is very nice it's not a stand out and we will likely not return. read more
