We were treated to dinner at this fine establishment and we totally enjoyed the experience. The decor is industrial eco chic, the vibe is relaxed and easy. Our server Tini was warm, friendly, professional, and attentive. Our cocktails were Smoke Signal, La Vie En Rose and Spritzing the Night Away, all were perfectly made (love the names) . For our appetizers we had the Lamb chops, AP Meatball, Duck Confit Wings and Calamari Piccata. All were flavorful and perfectly prepared, side note the portion sizes are pretty generous. Last night was our fifth time at AP Rooftop, and all five visits were great! The place is very nice, the staff courteous and helpful, and the food was delicious. (Once, a steak was a bit too rare, but my companion didn't want to send it back- I would have) This time, we had some oysters, octopus, and shrimp to start (all very yummy), Branzino and two of the double pork chops (one 'medium-well', one 'well', and they were right on the money). The sides were good, and the wine- while a little pricey- was excellent! Our waitress- Destiny - was very nice, but if you're lucky enough to have Alison, you've hit the top of the charts as far as professionalism goes. We'll be back! read more

I'm not sure where to start, an absolutely stunning restaurant with full bar, windows all around with ocean views, and historic downtown waterfront Asbury Park! The drinks are top-notch, the food is fantastic! We've come here for dinner and brunch. This time I was here for brunch and the selections are unique and incredibly delicious! I had eggs with tomatoes, onions, and peppers and sourdough toast. Others in our group had steak and eggs, other side, chicken, and waffles. The food is just great! They have a wonderful bar. It makes terrific drinks. I had a craft beer that was wonderful! There's parking on the street outside, you have to pay for parking in Asbury PARK but we never have trouble getting a spot. I've been wanting to hit a rooftop this summer, so I'm glad I got to check out AP Rooftop. I visited on a Sunday with a group of ladies from a social club. We ended up with a pretty large group and when more people showed up than what was expected, they were accommodating and created space for the extra people. Once you enter this space, the views and vibe are lovely. This restaurant sits on the beach, so depending on where you are, you get a nice ocean view. The bar area of the restaurant is nice as well. I ordered the Sunsets in Valencia drink. It's a spritz cocktail that was very refreshing. For food, I went with the naan tacos and a side salad. I loved both. The tacos were filled with chicken tikka masala. They were yummy. I just wish they had a little more chicken in them. Overall, I could see myself returning, even if it's just to sit at the bar. However, I would advise against going here early in the day during the weekend in summer, unless you live in the area. If you're from or visited the Jersey Shore during the summer, you know the deal. Parking can be a challenge, as it was for myself and a few others in my group. It took me 45 minutes to find a spot. I absolutely refused to pay $50 for the nearby parking garage. It can be a pain battling it out for parking with the beach goers in summer, so be prepared for that. read more

Excellent happy hour with ocean and sunset views. Cozy in the winter time with fireplaces and lounge areas. Happy hour is only at the bar or on some of the couches. Excellent prices and very generous food portions, wine pours, etc. . Arrive early to get a seat, it's very popular even in the dead of winter. I can't imagine what it's like in the summer! I recently visited Asbury Park and had dinner at AP Rooftop on the first night. That night my friend and I shared the Beetroot Hummus and I had the Brussels salad with skirt steak. I also ordered the Spritzin the Night Away mocktail. The drink was great and I fell in love with the salad. The steak was perfectly cooked. The hummus was good but nothing to write home about. Just went for Mother's Day brunch and what a let down. I've had lunch here before they have decent food and menu so I was excited. However, for the brunch to be $72 each and have mid level options no included beverages and kinda a small buffet this was extremely disappointing. A new rooftop with beautiful views of the beach in Asbury Park! We made a reservation for lunch on a Saturday right when it opened (this was last month) but there were still plenty of tables/bar seats available. The smoked pepperoni pizza was definitely the hit, packed with flavor and plenty of crispy pepperoni and peppers. The lobster roll was delicious and very filling as well. Our only complaint was that the fries were listed as truffle fries on the menu, but we just received regular fries. Not sure if that was a mix up in the kitchen or they changed their recipe without updating the menu. Also, the fries needed more salt. Still, we'll certainly dine here again and look forward to trying the dinner menu. read more

We did NOT try to sit outside where everybody wants to be on one of the busiest weekends of the year 4th of July (though it is a beautiful view.) We sat where we were put (because hostesses have a rotation they need to follow,) next to the windows and it was still beautiful! They did accommodate us because the AC was dripping on the table given the humidity outside. Not the restaurant's fault, that's nature, and they were happy to scoot us to a table not under the system. Our server was perfectly attentive, had a great personality joking around with us, food and drinks came out quick (we were trying to get to a show at the Lanes,) and the drinks were perfectly strong. I got a normal margarita ($14) first that was balanced well, then opted for the fun Lost In Translation ($17) but I wish I could've taken that glass home! (See video) The food was INCREDIBLE!! We got the chef housemade bread (YES. GET IT! $6) I got the naan tacos (almost shredded chicken and yes the flavor is great without it being too spicy. $14) He got the oven roasted spiced wings that came with a cheese sauce below it that was so delicious we mopped it up with the bread. $18 The ONLY downfall is the fact the sandwiches and paninis are only available until 4pm. We wanted to try the chicken one. We will 10000% be back and I can't wait! The black silverware was dirty to start, if you're going to have dark silver wear, least make sure it's clean not crusted with food. Also, perhaps giggling at the cocktail name as a customer orders it as feels strange, are you not familiar with the menu? Chose a pizza from their menu, it's was just ok. The Pepperoni could've been crispier and the sesame seeds on the crust, while I didn't hate don't match the flavor profile in my opinion. My husband and I recently stopped by AP Rooftop for dinner while we were visiting Asbury Park for a few days. It's easy to see why this place is popular, considering the views of the beach are really beautiful. We were greeted warmly as soon as we came out of the elevator, and the service in general was great. They even accommodated us when we asked if we could move to a table with a better view. In terms of food, we shared the shrimp cocktail and fried calamari, both of which were delicious, and I had a special clam pizza with roasted garlic. My husband had the AP burger. The clam pizza was very good. I would've loved a bit more of noticeable roasted garlic flavor, but it was tasty in general and the clams were not chewy. My husband seemed happy with his burger as well as his upgraded truffle Parmesan fries (definitely worth the upcharge). Overall, it was a great experience and we would definitely return. read more

The view was spectacular. The atmosphere was great. I really wanted to love this place. Going up the elevator I felt like we were going to the VIP lounge- It's new so let me say- The drink selection could use some seasonal drinks and a few more beers on tap. The food has the right idea - just off to a slow start. I will come back in a month or two once they get their wings. Overall it was a nice experience for me. I feel bad writing a bad review but I feel like people really need to know. The atmosphere of this restaurant is really nice, but also misleading. After looking at the menu and vibes of this place, I was super hopeful for a great meal. First, I wanted to touch on the service. Our server was sweet, but she was slow and not attentive to details. Came back saying she forgot items, wrong food coming out, and to top it off, she introduced us very uncertain of her ability to do her job well. Now to the food, which lead me extremely disappointed. We split about 3 apps at the table, the oysters were probably the worst oysters I've ever had, and I've had them from everywhere. No flavor, gummy, really disappointing. The bread and dip came out cold and the warm dip tasted like stale cheese. As for my main dish, I was actually afraid to order dinner because the appetizers were so awful and my mother was treating us for my birthday, I did not want to have her spend another overpriced penny there because I knew it was going to disappoint. When I went to order, my friend and I both asked to remove mint and meat from our dishes we wanted. The kitchen could not do that because they "pre mix" their meals. That was the biggest red flag to me that their food was not fresh. I understand not being able to remove meat, but MINT? It's an herb. The first drink I had was great, the second one, the garnishes were soggy and sad. I hate to be this negative and normally can chalk up a bad meal once in awhile but especially for the jacked up prices, this was probably the worst experience/food I've ever had at a restaurant. read more

Take the elevator or stairs up to the 3rd floor, and you're taken to an elegant (but not over done for being by the beach) dining room with seating options outside with beach and boardwalk views. Our waitress Abbey was super friendly and helpful when it came to asking her opinion on what food to get, and was very attentive to my nut allergy. For example, their dance party espresso martini has pistachio in it but I was able to get a regular espresso martini. Both great! Food was also tasty. Two of us had been before and couldn't wait to bring friends and it exceeded expectations yet again. The music blended seamlessly with the energy of the room, and we could still hold a conversation without ever needing to raise our voices a rare and welcome touch in a bustling, popular spot. We started with cocktails that set the tone for the evening: a dirty martini that was impossibly smooth, a white Burgundy that was light, crisp, and elegant, and a gimlet mixed to absolute perfection. Our appetizers the whipped brie and piccata calamari were divine. The brie was luxuriously creamy with just the right balance of sweet and savory, and the calamari was tender with a bright, flavorful sauce that made every bite sing. For entrées, we shared the lamb chops, bucatini & clams, and short rib ragout; each dish somehow better than the last. The lamb was beautifully cooked and bursting with flavor, the pasta perfectly al dente, and the ragout rich and comforting without being heavy. And then came dessert the pumpkin cheesecake. Now, I'm not a pumpkin person, but this was otherworldly. Light, airy, and almost cloud-like more like eating a pumpkin-spiced dream than a traditional cheesecake.
