I've heard good things about Antonio's and I think I had it years ago and it was good. But I got pizza from them tonight and it was awful the chicken and crust were soooo dry it was barely edible. I didn't understand all of the hype around this place - a Worcester outcrop of the Amherst institution - until I went here. I don't even know where to start because this place something for everyone. The slice bar is sublime - the delicious diversity of slices rivals NYC. Yes, they have cheese and pepperoni but venture out with their more creative options and your belly will be very happy!! You can take your slice(s) to go or grab a seat at the front half. They also have a drive thru - YES, a drive thru for pizza!!! The fun part of Antonio's is the full service restaurant. It's a casual, fun atmosphere with TVs everywhere (great place to watch a game) and a full bar. Lots of great beer on tap and a decent wine selection. The coolest part of the restaurant is that you can order from their creative menu of full pizzas, salads, pasta and calzones or you can walk up and order a slice to be delivered to your table. The whole experience and concept is brilliant with its simplicity but absolutely perfect. It's a pizza place with so much more to offer. You will not be disappointed with Antonio's!! read more

My wife and I are rather new to Worcester. We found the usual haunts for pizza ( Papa Gino's, Dominos) and compared to where we are from (Boston) they are above par. However we decided to dine in at Antonio's last night and were blown away. The ambiance and overall feel was a welcome change to the pizza scene for us. The service was a little slow even with a the place being rather empty for a Wednesday night. The server was pleasant and I'm not saying bad just slow. The drink menu was small but powerful. I had the house beer and it was cheap and good. The wife had a budlight so nothing to report on other than the temperature which was ice cold. We got the Don Giovanni and it was amazing with every bite! And the pricing was good for two with a medium. We will be back and frequent visitors. read more

Been living in Worcester for 3 years now and have always been very satisfied with the city's brick oven pizza places (Volturno's comes to mind). However, as a native NYer I was continuing my search for a plain slice of thin crispy crust pizza that I could buy by the slice. The constant nonsense of these 'buy the whole crappy soggy crust pie with thousands of horrible toppings and garlic dipping sauce (papa johns style) was never going to cut it for me. That stuff is just awful. I was excited but skeptical when I heard good things about Antonio's. I heard it was the best pizza in Amherst, MA. Woohoo I thought, more people that have no idea what they're talking about telling me they have the best pizza in Western Mass, which isn't really saying much. Either way I gave it a shot because I had to. The name itself (pizza by the slice) checked off one of my most important requirements. The first time I went I ordered a plain cheese slice (no toppings) - the most accurate judge of a good slice of pizza. I was excited just by looking through the glass counter at it. There it was, calling my name, lookin all sexy and stuff ... did I finally find the one? They took my slice, warmed it in the oven, brought it to my table and I immediately started inspecting. Cheese was great, sauce was great and crust was just the way they do it back home. It was everything I hoped for. Finally found a normal size, plain, thin crust slice that was not brick oven, that also tasted great and wasn't loaded with nonsense. I would have given it 5 stars based on this alone. In addition, the place itself is beautiful with a great patio and waiter service and they serve decent priced beers. Very nice touch with all the TVs and full bar too. Being curious about the other classic slices as well, I decided to give the plain Sicilian slice a shot. I've had some of the best Sicilian slices ever in Brooklyn and this one came up short but wasn't bad by any means. Still the best I've had here if not due to lack of other choices. The size, shape and crust were very nicely done but there was something off about the dough. It was definitely worth giving another shot though. The white slice (ricotta) was also excellent and I will be back for that one as well. The other nonsense slices (anything with ranch or BBQ sauce on it) have no business being even close to the plain slices but some of the other variety slices (tortellini/egglplant slices for example) looked good and will definitely satisfy people's cravings for complexity and variety. Also ordered a whole plain pie for a family outing a couple of weeks later and it just wasn't the same as the one plain slice by itself. The pie was smaller than I expected and didn't taste exactly the same. I rather order 8 plain slices separately than the whole pie. In conclusion, this will be my new single plain slice spot in Worcester and very glad they came! They have saved me from a lot of hangry fits and now I will not have to travel to NY to eat great pizza! Thanks Antonio's! read more

I often stop here for a quick lunch, or order takeout and pick up at their convenient drive thru window on my way home from work. I've had some of their salads, Buffalo wings/tenders (SUPER spicy so buyer beware), as well as their pizza and chicken parm. I've enjoyed everything I've eaten here. They have unlimited variety of pizza slices to order for take out or dine in. I have to say ordering a fresh pizza is ten times better, but the slices are pretty convenient when you don't need a whole pie. They have a large, full bar, dine in, and a small seating area for take out customers who want a place to sit and eat but don't want the server aspect. Me and my husband went for lunch and the waitress was very attentive and nice, the food was very delicious I got the chicken bacon ranch pizza and OMG it was amazing by far my new favorite pizza. Since we moved to Worcester in July, we have not had one bad experience at Antonio's and have gone here over a handful of times! We've ordered their salads, wings, large pizzas and also pizza by the slice and have never been disappointed. We mostly do pickup, as their delivery can take quite awhile for how popular it is, but have also eaten in the restaurant and enjoyed that as well. The pickup drive-thru window only reiterates the 5 Star rating that I give to Antonios and makes pizza pickup incredibly easy when their parking lot is busy! Try the potato bacon pizza and you will not be sorry!! read more

During my visit, this place just opened the week before. I must say that I was loving everything about this place - mind blowing selection of pizzas, great decor, awesome bar. I had myself the Beaumont slice. Never had seen this before, & was excited to try it. It had all these ingredients I enjoy: breaded chicken, tortellini, pesto sauce. Unfortunately, after having this slice I'm not sure I enjoy all these elements meeting on a pizza. This won't deter me from going back. Although, one thing about my visit kept sticking out in my mind: the whole table service - counter relationship. During our visit, you are tempted by all the specialty slices in the case. As we sat down the server informed us that they could only bring certain slices to the table which meant that over half the slices we saw were unavailable to us. The manager came over to explain the difficulty with getting a counter slice to the table. Antonio's just keeps you coming back for more. I don't feel complete until I try every type of pizza! Very quick, easy spot to stop. My only critique is I feel like Providence & Amherst had more options for people who want a single slice. I feel like I have to do the whole sit down/server option and order a whole pizza to get a feel for the variety. The reason I come is because it's cheaper and easier to get in and out than most places. And I don't always want more than 1-2 slices. Had the Ground Beef Bacon pizza and the Chicken Parm pizza for take out on Superbowl 51 and both Pizzas were subpar at best. The ground beef and bacon were of the finely minced type that wasnt good at all. The Chicken Parm pizza was a tad better but not much better. I know take out is not as good as eat in pizza but it was the ingredients that lacked texture and flavor that was such a disappointment. We had such a good experience on our first visit that I'm willing to give Antonios another try. Maybe its just their hamburg and bacon thats very finely minced are ingredients to stay away from next time. read more

I ordered a burger again, and the problem seems to have been fixed. The burger was cooked perfectly and was delicious. It could have used some salt, but I have salt, that's not a dealbreaker. So kudos to the kitchen for correcting a problem! You did still serve me 3 burgers that should have been thrown in the trash, but you took a positive step toward correcting it. Heard about it through Meetup but only came after I got emailed a coupon for my birthday. I ordered a large pizza with spinach, tomato and ricotta and it was delicious. It came out in around 10-15 minutes and was very tasty. The leftovers lasted me all week. The place also has an ample parking lot. read more

AMAZING. Ordered online for pickup and was surprised that they had a pickup window which is wicked convenient. When we got to the window their was a sweet employee who very nicely greeted us and got our pizza right away, I asked if she had any red pepper packets and she said no then she said hang on. Came back with red pepper in a little container for me to bring home what a sweetie to take her time and open up there own red pepper shaker and pour in container... We ordered 2 pizzas and a pizza slice, unfortunately I wasn't hungry that night so I knew I was going to have it the next day. When I ran to my fridge the following morning I didn't even have the patience to microwave it and SOOO GOOD. The crust is homemade the sauce is perfect combo of sweet and robust. Had lunch there. Service was bad. Pizza was tasteless and not hot. 1st try of pizza was burnt. Waitress tried to take my silverware during my meal. Brought me water when I said I did not want any. Dining room was cold. Had to ask for a plate to eat my pizza on. 1.50 upcharge on kids meal for fries!!! For a total of 7.50!!!. Two of us, 2 scheese sluces, kids meal,one soda,brownie sunday=26 including a lousy tip. Too expensive! Pizza reminded me of elementary school lunch pizza. Gross. read more

The overall service was amazing and the food was pretty good. My mother and I ordered the food to be delivered to our apartment. The food consisted of a bacon burger covered in barbecue sauce with a side of fries and a large cheese pizza with extra extra cheese, olives, mushrooms, and broccoli. The time that I ordered was 8:30 and the promised delivery time was 9:35 which I was okay with. The actual delivery was at 9 and the delivery guy was nice enough to call me to let me know he was downstairs. To me that was surprising because I expected the food to come later, which says a lot about their fast delivery service :). The food was good for a first appearance and I found my burger to be fascinatingly covered in barbecue sauce which I loved by the way!! The pizza could have done better because we ordered the extra extra cheese (which they charged extra) so we expected the whole thing to be basically cheese, but sadly that was not the case. It looked like a normal pizza with a normal amount of cheese. As a result, the pizza was a bit of a let down, but it still tasted good even without the extra extra cheese we asked. I would definitely order from here again and consider the the cowboy burger or their wings! read more
