Consistently well done with the very rare hiccup. Over the years of the current ownership, I have had a wide variety of their appetizers, sandwiches, and pizza. I have found them to consistently deliver top quality food. Service has always been excellent and prompt. I can't say much about the ambience. It's a pizza shop with a limited number of tables. But you can sit there and have your food. We've always done takeout because we are lucky enough to be close. I would easily call these guys. The best show in town when it comes to pizza and subs. They even make some of those fairly close Worcester places look silly. Keep up the good work, people. Wishing you continued success. read more

I got the bacon chicken ranch pizza after reading all of the reviews. It was amazing! So crisp and cooked perfectly. My fiancé got the chicken broccoli Alfredo. This one we would not get again. We also ordered via grub hub so might not be a dish that travels well.. Will absolutely be ordering from here again. read more

I just left AJs Pizza. I have been going there for more than 20 years. I ordered a chicken salad salad. Clearly on the menu board it states that the price is $11.00. They rang me up and the worker asked me for $13.34. I asked him how the cost comes out to $13.34. He said that the price is now $12.00 plus tax. He then called over someone, who I assume is one of the managers, and she tried to explain to me that their prices are subject to change. I thought to myself "what?".... That is totally not only unethical but that is illegal. I just very politely said "no that is okay, I'll go some place else". Everyone, please watch what these types of places are ringing you up for. Slow service, but great food. if you order, when they give you a time to pick up, add 10-15 minutes. they're friendly though, with good food. So don't let the wait time deter you, just plan accordingly. read more

Ordered via internet, site given estimated pickup time. Monday evening, after 7 pm, so I went there early. Order was ready 5 minutes earlier than was stated on website (ok, website was giving an estimated time based on averages). 3 employees were talking but one was quick to address me and hand me my order. Service is good. I ordered a large hot pastrami and provolone with mustard, on a toasted sub roll. Never had this from AJ's before. Toasted perfect. Mustard was a little light. Provolone was good but the slices were really too thin to taste the Provolone. Pastrami was top notch, but, really, this sub needed 30 to 50% more pastrami for the price I paid. Not even to the ends of the large sub roll. Will I return? Not for this, no. Where will I go next for a hot pastrami? Who knows! read more

Clean environment, freshly made delicious food, attentive and friendly staff, an incredibly kind vibe and overall wonderful environment, the perfect neighborhood pizzeria. I've been meaning to rate this family owned business for over a year and glad I finally set aside the time to do so. Throughout the years my family has ordered (many varying dishes)from this establishment, the food itself and service have been above par. I have never had a bad experience under the current owners. The food is always good and the staff is always very friendly. We had an issue this evening with a delivery driver, who's is not an AJ's employee, being unable to locate us and could not properly communicate with me for directions. We told him to bring the food back to AJ's as this interaction had become a lost cause. We contacted AJ's and they were extremely kind and offered to remake our order for pick up within 20 minutes of closing. They will always have our business. read more

AJ's has 2 competitors down the street that are technically in worcester. 2 in West Boylston proper, and these are just the places with a name of '[word] Pizza" in the general area. The pizza is very good, if you like greek, you'll like it. If you like italian style pies, you'll like it. It's very much a chameleon pie. The dinners are exactly what you would expect from your typical pizza place, but they can usually feed 2 with a single order. It's comical how heavy some of the bags I've carried out of there are. The guys behind the counter are always great. I've never had a surly response, dirty look, or anything other then a smile and a pleasant interaction. I can not say the same about the guys on the worcester line, so I appreciate the good service. Go here when you want pizza, and/or pizza related foodstuffs. read more

Ordered a large sausage sub with peppers onions and provolone. It was delicious. Chunks of what I believe were homemade sausage, sauteed with peppers and onions and sauce, placed in the bread and toasted. Very well done. read more

Love this place, it's a regular staple! Their pizza is to die for, as are their sides (onion rings, fries, mozz sticks - all way better than other places) and subs are great too. Even their salads are great - over loaded with chicken and their ceasar dressing is 'home-made' and soo good. Their helpings are huge, the quality is way above average and their pricing is more than fair! Try this place if you're in the area - even on an 'off day' this place is better than your average pizza shop. Only cons: They don't deliver and I wish they had potato skins :-) Other than that, don't change a thing! read more

Out of the various pizza shops in the West Roxbury area, this is my favorite. The pizza is perfect, from the crust, to the bread, to the cheese. I've ordered their Rost Beef subs, and they are delicious. Buffalo wings were not so good. Always efficient on delivery times, with friendly employees. read more

Just about every Friday evening during the summer we order grinders from AJ's. In fact, throughout the year my wife often orders from there on her way home to Holden from her job in Shrewsbury. They have one of the best tuna grinders around. We have also always been impressed with the quality of the food and the cleanliness of their establishment. Last night I stopped in to pick up an order called in from a friend who calls in at least twice a week. It was particularly busy as one would expect and they were considerably behind in their orders. No problem, it's worth wait. When I got the order I noticed that it seemed to be short an item so I called our friend to verify. Sure enough they had missed an order of Buffalo wings. No problem, they would get right on it. Knowing they were real busy I thought I would clarify that they were preparing "Buffalo" wings. The response I got was "You think I have nothing better to do but worry about your questions righ now?" This response and attitude is inexcusable no matter how busy they were. I am very disappointed as there are very few good options for take-out in West Boylston or Holden. However, we will NEVER order again from AJ's and will spread the word on our experience. read more

You know, I really appreciate the folks that work here - read through the other reviews, and you'll see it. Always friendly. Truly, nothing to complain about, in fact much to appreciate. Order a "meat lovers:" it's the most ridiculously over-topped meat pizza ever. One slice will do you just fine. The pies are fine, the staff are great. It's a pizza place. Straight up. There are better, there are worse. I'm not a great fan of Greek pizza, and that probably colors my rating. It's worth a try. read more

I read some of the other reviews and all I have to say is don't be a jerk to them and don't take yourself too seriously and you won't have a problem with them at all. I definitely recommend the hawaiian calzone, the fresh egg salad, the antipasto (loaded with meat, it makes for two meals!), the pasta baked with cheese & meatballs (very filling), and the mozzarella sticks (still haven't found any better). Their salads are always fresh and their pizza is really under rated when it comes to comparing it to other pizza places around. It doesn't hurt that the owners and workers are incredibly friendly and you can tell that they enjoy what they do. Great establishment! All three times I have ordered pizza at this parlor the veggies on top (especially the green peppers) were black, i.e., burnt. I asked one of the owners/brothers very respectfully that if I requested that they take care not to burn the veggies next time I order if that was possible. The brother whom I'll appropriately call "Dumbell stated that pizzas are cooked at 600 degrees and there is no way to prevent blackening/burning the veggies. I politely replied that I don't see the same thing with pizzas that I've ordered at other parlors. His very terse (I don't care response) was "Then why don't you go to those other parlors". Ok Dumbell that is exactly what I will do. Lucky thing you are an owner or you'd be fired. Happy to clue others in about arrogance. read more

It's a shame really, the food is pretty good (at least the last time I went it was). I used to go there regularly. I would often see a friend of mine who works nearby there too. A few years ago they had a fire and were out of commission for quite awhile. When I saw they were up and running again I was excited & happy for the family that owns and runs it. Sadly, when I called to order & expressed my happiness that they were back in business I was met with a very gruff & unpleasant response. I'm glad I'm not the only one who has gotten this treatment. Think Greek Style pizza . Four family members run this busy shop . The parents and the two brothers . It's honest , fresh , and no nonsense . Don't be surprised if you call and no one answers , when it's busy say Friday nights they simply don't answer . I just drive there and order , most orders take 15 minutes for pizza less for sandwiches . I grew up in a time when every neighborhood in Worcester had a Greek pizza parlor .
