Christmas Eve - Best Service we've had by a Pizza establishment EVER! Ordered 4 party sized pizzas - 1 cheese, 1 Pepperoni, 1 hamburger, 1 works. We're not sure what specific thing we're most impressed about, but here goes. 1. The fact that they are closed on Sunday's but still were happy to take our order. The owner said he would come in on his day off to make my families Christmas Eve meal. 2. Insisted that he deliver the order, that we did not have to pick it up. Which was on time. (and saved us time) 3. Brought the order into my house (we've ordered from this place and was familiar with the owner/delivery person), and opened each box to make sure the order was right. The Pizza's arrived hot from the oven and tasted perfect. My family and friends asked us many times where we ordered it from. They loved all the pizza's and asked to let them take some home. We usually cook or pot luck our Christmas Eve dinner, but decided to change it up this year, and go with something everyone would enjoy. We are so glad we did. Decided to call these folks tonight. It's always hit or miss with them. Tonight was the worst. After waiting an hour and twenty minutes for my order I knew it would be cold so we pulled it out from the box to put it in the oven. Right away, I knew something didn't look right about it. Turns out, they burned the pizza but decided to throw cheese over the pizza and recook the pizza and send it over anyhow. If you look at the photo you can see what I am talking about. You can see the burned cheese! I guess that is why it was late. Normally, I would just let something like this go, but what an insult. To burn my food, make me wait, send over the food which is basically inedible when you should have just made a new pizza? You tried to save yourself a couple bucks but now you're going to lose a lot more money by losing customers. On top of it all, they didn't get the order correct and sent the wrong soda. EXPENSIVE PIZZA, INSULTS FREE We've been ordering from George's Pizza 2 on Lake Avenue for many years. Last week, the pizza we ordered arrived with an incorrect topping. This has happened on occasion before, and they would always apologize and send us a replacement pizza. When I called it was about 10 minutes to closing time. I spoke with Sylvia, who said "I can make you a new one if you really want, but we are about to close, so can I give you a credit instead?" While I would have preferred the correct pizza, I could tell that she wanted to call it a night, and so I agreed to the credit. It seemed fair enough. Tonight I called to order my pizza, and the normally friendly owner (Jim Vogiatzis according to Google) went beserk when I requested the credit (I was going to order other stuff as well so as to balance things out). He insisted that no way would I have been promised a free pizza, and do I know how expensive everything is, do I want him to lose money, etc etc. The most he would offer was $2 off, and he implied it was very generous of him. He then put Sylvia on the line, who said: "Yes, hi, when I told you you would have a credit, I MEANT a credit for the topping only". Apparently my ESP skills were deficient that night, and I failed to deduce her unverbalized meaning. Sylvia returned the phone to her fuming father, who was still boggled as to why I should think "credit" meant a credit for the entire pizza. I politely but firmly reiterated that due to the lack of specificity, it was rational to expect the credit cover the cost of one pizza. I reminded him that for past mistakes a free replacement pizza had always been sent without us needing to ask. His shouted response: "Ok, so you want me to give you something for free, you are looking only for free food?! Why you think you should get free pizza?? Do you know how much it cost to make a pizza? Do you want for me to go out of business?.." etc etc. Perhaps if I'd been talking to a rational human who was not accusing me of trying to destroy his business singlehandedly, I would have folded and just accepted the measly $2 credit. But as I wasn't feeling it tonight, I replied, still calmly (although through admittably gritted teeth) "Yes, I am aware of the cost of your food as I have been ordering from you for years. Yes, I would like a "free" pizza to replace the incorrect one I paid for last week, and that your daughter just confirmed I was offered a credit for, or I will bring my business elsewhere." "Yes, you should do that, I think is best. Goodbye!" was his shouted response as he slammed down the phone. So, It either makes logical sense to Mr. Vogiatzis to lose the business of a regular customer rather than comping a 2 topping pizza, or he was too angry to care. Either way it's not a problem for me. His food wasn't anything special; it was simply the closest pizza place to our house. I'll just order from one of the other million or so pizza parlors in Worcester; I'm sure there are plenty that would be happy to serve me their food exactly as ordered, without a surprise side of condescending remarks. read more

George's II is my go to pizza place! It helps that it is right at the end of my street, but honestly I would drive across the city for this pizza. It is truly just the best. The crust is the perfect mix between stiff enough that the slice doesn't fall apart while you're eating it, but not too thick so that you get full after one slice. Their sauce is delicious, and that truly makes or breaks a pizza in my opinion. Their classic cheese hits the spot, and if you're feeling adventurous, try their BBQ chicken, its THE BOMB. In Worcester for a few days of work training and needed a place to deliver to a hotel for a Sunday night dinner. My fiancé and I chose this place and we're so glad we did. He had a chicken cordon bleu sub and I had a turkey sub. The sub rolls were fresh and they were super delicious. We also shared a Greek salad and it was probably one of the best salads we've ever had. The vegetables were crisp and vibrant. You could tell it was freshly made. Their homemade creamy Greek dressing was awesome and they definitely didn't skimp on feta. Such a great find and deliver was super quick! read more

Meh, not great. The delivery was quick, but I agree with Danielle that the delivery driver reeked of smoke. It didn't affect the taste of my food, but it was kind of gross. As for the food, the buffalo wings were spicy but were of the previously frozen, breaded variety of which I'm not a huge fan. The pizza was pretty average as well. You wouldn't think finding a solid grilled chicken salad would be that difficult, but it is. Globalists rejoice, because George's does have the documents and does, in fact, prepare the finest grilled chicken salad I've ever eaten. The veggies are always fresh and the chicken is always cooked to perfection. Let's also not forget the price: $8.25. What a deal! My only critique is that the cut on the veggies needs a little attention. YUCKY!!!! We just ordered two small subs and ate less than half and threw them out. Chicken Parmesan sub consisted of two small chicken fingers and a lil cheese and the sauce was yucky. My stomach is turning and I can't get the taste outta my mouth. Cheeseburger sub was all lettuce with the thinnest grossest frozen burger patty I have ever seen. Since owner change (new owner）... I had bad experiences with the George Pizza II. It's their attitude towards customer is my biggest concern ! First time I ordered an Italian sub ... the girl doesn't seem to understand what's typically in an Italian sub. The next time they gave me back the wrong change. Today the register said $7.49 and the guy kept asking me for $7.50 ... I told him it said $7.49 on the register but he kept saying $7.50. Then the owner came around and I asked him why when register said $7.49 and the guy kept wanting $7.50 even after I pointed out the $7.49. He said it's for convenience !!! Normally I don't care about the 1 cent but it's just frustrated that they don't seem to care the customer feedback or apologize or give an explanation. This is place delivers one of the best salads in the city. They load their greek salad up with romaine lettuce, tomatoes, radishes, cukes, green peppers, red cabbage, feta and olives. I have ordered salads elsewhere nearby (Elsa's, Panera, El Basha, Regatta) and George's easily beats them all with freshness and quality. The pizza was very good - surprisingly flaky crust around the edge, and the salad actually had a good amount and variety of vegetables on it. Good place to pick up subs, fries, and onion rings for a decent price. The bacon cheeseburger is one of the best subs on their menu, and you get a lot of sandwich for the price. Same with the sides, you get a lot for what you pay. The pizza isn't really anything special, the extra cheese isn't so extra, and the sauce is okay. I definitely want to stick to subs, and I'm certainly happy doing that at George's. read more
