Nice for entertaining - and that is where the party was. It can easily fit about 20-30 people. We had cake for the birthday and people ordered drinks at the bar. The bartender was very friendly. Looks like a neighborhood bar where people know each other. They have some bar food like pretzel, hot dog - the hot dog was only $3 which is unbelievable! I probably never would have found this place on my own, but I'm really glad I tried it!…read more One of my bosses is originally from Worcester, and her daughter was heading home for the weekend, so my boss asked her to stop at Vincent's and grab us some meatball sandwiches for lunch. She had been talking about how amazing their meatball sandwiches were, and since meatball sandwiches are basically my favorite food, I obviously had to try them. Before this, I had never heard of Vincent's. We looked it up and realized it's not really a traditional restaurant. It's a bar that serves food, and apparently their meatball sandwiches are a big thing. Another coworker of mine who is also from Worcester explained that this is a place people go to for drinks and food, and that they have some specific rules when it comes to ordering the sandwiches. When we called, we were told that they do takeout, but you can't actually place a takeout order over the phone. You have to go in and order it. I thought that was a little unusual, but my coworker said that's their normal practice. There is also a three-sandwich limit per person. My bosses daughter went in to order five for the office, so thankfully she had someone with her and they were able to order three each. Apparently, the three-sandwich limit is posted on one of their Google pictures, so I guess if you know, you know. I do wish they had a website or something that clearly explained the takeout process and ordering limits, because if you've never been there, you wouldn't necessarily know any of this. Now for the important part...the sandwich! My bosses daughter had about a 30-35 minute drive back to us, so I honestly expected the sandwich to be pretty cold by the time I got it. It was wrapped in foil, and somehow it was STILL warm when I opened it. I was actually surprised. And let me tell you...this was probably one of the best meatball sandwiches I've ever had. It's definitely different from your typical meatball sub. The meatballs are flat, and instead of a regular torpedo/sub roll, it comes on this thick Italian bread. I honestly didn't know what to expect, but I LOVED it. The combination of the bread and the meatballs was so good that I'm pretty sure I'm going to want my meatball sandwiches this way from now on. I can only imagine how good it would have been if I had eaten it fresh at the bar instead of 35 minutes later. So yes, I completely understand why my boss recommended this place. If I'm ever back in the Worcester area, I will absolutely be stopping at Vincent's. Just make sure you know the ordering rules before you go!

The parking is for Havana Nights. Imagine our surprise when we were handed menus for "The Fokin Ninja" or Taino. That name isn't anywhere. I still don't know what this place is called. I asked our server if the awesome Cuban place moved, and got the weirdest response.. something like "Ahh.. Ohh.. yeah, let me get someone to help you." I probably should have packed up and studied the situation from somewhere else? There were changes in April and it's not Cuban any more. But we were seated with waters and Fokin Ninja menus, so maybe there's some crossover. I don't even know how to describe the menu; you can read it here. Some kind of Mexican-Asian fusion? Prices are steep, from the $18 cocktails to the $30-$40+ entrees. They did have a few specialty rolls for $10, so I tried a few. Look, maybe beef and chicken fusion rolls are your thing, but today I learned that they are not mine. Not at all. Dry beef, dry shredded chicken on top, and the weirdest mash of flavors and textures does not make a delightful roll. Sticky sweet brown sauce with bacon and cream cheese and some sliver of maybe roast beef? Nope nope nope. There just wasn't anything delicious about them.. just weird stuff wrapped in rice and called a fusion roll. The fried fish plate (Pescado Frito) for $32 was pretty good. Hot, fresh, good size, but just bland and unseasoned, as far as I could tell. Came with chimichuri sauce and fried plantains. Fried rice for $22. Loud and cold in there. This is also the first place in Worchester that puts the Tip right on the tab. Not a service charge, just "Tip" and they picked it for you. There is a line where you can write in an additional tip. It ain't right. I can't think of anything that would merit a second star. The kicker? The receipt says "Havana Nights"! I would have enjoyed eating there instead.

I looked down the bar there and seen people ranging from college hotties to yuppies to homeless people to regular folks to Doozers and back again. They got dollar drafts and free peanuts but that pales to the history and the dirt. Yup, I said dirt. The place is filthy. I think the last time they cleaned it was for the grand reopening after the end of Prohibition. But, somehow in the weirdest of ways this adds to the character of the place. I mean, where else are you asked to throw peanut shells on the floor? So, its got its history. Babe Ruth used to drink there on his frequent stops to Worcester. There is an old speakeasy in the basement (so I'm told. I've never seen personally). The piece de resistance is the Ship Room- or Yacht Club- which looks like the insides of an olde-timey ship. Bands and other preforms often play there for no cover. Its great atmosphere for a low cost. The only negatives it has is the occasional bartenders. Some bartenders I've had there are very cool. Others are rude jackasses. Just don't go in there with an ego about yourself because that just means you're a pretentious douche.

Both were great choices but a ton of food. The broccoli was super sweet with a little wasabi after kick. The turkey BLT was thick cut turkey breast not overshadowed by the bacon. A lot of times a BLT is just assuming that you just want a bacon sandwich. Not this one. I'm not supposed to have bacon so I have to remove it. However we were seated at a large, awkward table in the back of the second floor area where a door was open to an outdoor patio area. The temp was in the high 50's and since we were very cold we asked that they close the door to the outside or reseat us. Initially a cocktail waitress said (rudely) that closing the door was impossible because it would make it hard for her to get in and out. Eventually a manager type of guy came over and closed the door. Fine...except college kids were going in and out the door to the outside patio area every few seconds so we continued to freeze. Complained again and asked to be moved...nothing! Eventually and mercifully we finished our dinner and were ready to leave. The snippy and sassy cocktail waitress continued to go in and out the door making sure that she opened it widely each time, and sneered at us every time. On our way out I complained to the general manager and he said "sorry" but didn't acknowledge that we asked to be reseated and we were just ignored. This place is packed all the time so I assume they don't care about one disgruntled table of 5, still, you should know that if the weather is chilly don't let them seat you anywhere near the outside patio...you'll freeze and they won't care.
