This is a fun dive bar with lots of history (used to be a speakeasy in the basement, where Babe Ruth used to drink!). They have dollar drafts and free peanuts. Bartender Cheryl plays vinyl records on Turntable Tuesdays. They have live bands in the Ship Room, and the calendar is open. There's a pool table ($1 to play) and a couple of arcade games. They have Keno and TVs, but they are not too obtrusive. The crowd is really mixed - young and old, hipsters and not.

Great bar don't have to be a hipster to be here

If you can sit at the bar or in one of the 2 tables by the window, you'll get excellent service. The charcuterie board is great, and the drink selection is also pretty good. However, the last time we came here, it was the middle of the afternoon on Valentine's day. I'm from Boston and Cape Cod and my partner is European; we look like it and we act like it. Upon a brief interaction with the hostess, we both felt spoken down to: "YOU'RE trying to come in on Valentine's day? Without a reservation?" This, coming from someone with a Worcester accent who was dressed like a boy going to church choir. We were shooed away into the dining area: "I guess you could stand over there and look at the menu". It's about 330 in the afternoon- most tables are completely empty. Then a different staff member, also with a working class accent, says "I need you to clear out of this walkway because this is for staff only", despite the fact that no staff were walking there and we had been standing there about 20-30 seconds. We left without saying anything as the hostess tried to say something to us. If you want to feel spoken down to, in the working class city of Worcester no less, come here. Alternately, if you're feeling aggressive and want to squeeze your way in to sit touching shoulder to shoulder, come here. The time before this, the hostess was a soft-spoken woman who mumbled a lot; we had to elbow people out of the way at the middle bar section, which is where she directed us. Maybe in another year I'll want to come back for lunch only. Honestly, I'd rather drive back to Boston if I'm going to be treated snobbishly.

We enjoyed our takeout meals! The chicken broccoli alfredo was a huge portion with very good homemade alfredo sauce. The picanha steak dinner came with the most tender pieces of picanha I have ever tried. The Brazilian chicken stroganoff was also very good. It had lots of mushrooms and great flavor. The only thing I didn't care for was the rice that came with the steak and the stroganoff. It was not the typical rice you would expect to receive and it lacked... I cannot even name it.. it just wasn't good. We will definitely head to this restaurant to try it in person. We weren't able to order the meat lover's kebab to go - and that is what everyone has been talking about!

I hate to be that person so we just paid and left but the photo speaks for itself... margarita flatbread was also pretty bad. Looked nothing like one of the pictures I saw on Google reviews so I'm thinking they may have just ran out of ingredients yesterday. Even just the restaurant itself was pretty gross. Sticky floors, dirty plates and silverware given to us, dirty bathroom. Definitely won't be going back.

I'd like to provide more detail, but their website menu page isn't working, and it's difficult to find a menu for them. Prices may not be up to date. We thought the roll was very tasty, albeit somewhat heavy. My beer was excellent, and the wine was cold and refreshing according to my co-diner. The waitress was excellent. It wasn't busy yet, but it was getting busier. They have games here (putting, corn hole, etc.) and on busy nights open up a pavilion area with a giant tv screen. We had a pleasant respite from the heat and look forward to returning to what they say is the largest patio area in Worcester. 3.5 stars rounded up to four for the venue and service on this visit.

Everyone was just kind of hanging out separately but together, the only weird thing was the servers had trouble finding numbers of tables- but eventually they found us! It was a deep dark brown and very large. They served it hanging and with cheese and mustard sides. It was great. For an entree I ordered the chicken pesto quesadilla. Floored. It was crispy, and delicious. The pesto was really well balanced, and I love the sour cream and lettuce on the sides. This came with a side of queso too that was straight from heaven. We didn't get any napkins at the table so it was a little greasier than expected but overall great. This place is over an hour away from our house- and we are planning to come back just to eat here.

I had fun, sang a bunch, then decided it was time to go. Bill came to $42. I took my card, slid the slip back across the bar WITHOUT SIGNING IT and handed the bartender $65 IN CASH, and did not ask for any change back. Two days later, I checked my account. Not only was there a charge for $42, but another charge for $33. Ok, no big deal, the place was busy, mistakes happen. I called the number listed when I googled the bar. Had to leave a message. They don't have a website, so I went to their facebook page and sent a message via messenger. I gave a detailed account of what I drank, what the bill was, the last four digits of my card number, and the two charges despite my having paid in cash. They left it read, but did not respond. I contacted the karaoke DJ, who is a friend of mine and asked if he knew how to get ahold of anyone over there. He offered to stop by that night and speak to whoever was working and inquire about the situation. He reported back that he told the bartender there about it, and asked for someone to contact him. A week goes by. Crickets. I call and leave another message. I send another Messenger message. It gets read again, but still no response. I contact my bank and dispute the charges. I contact my friend again who again goes up there and asks for someone to get back to one of us. Nothing. July 14th I send yet another message, saying that I could see that the others had been read, and asking why they aren't responding. Interestingly, it does not show that it has been read. Left another message today. Such an easy thing to remedy. A simple apology and offer to correct the mistake is all that was needed. I tipped very nicely, was polite and friendly. I have never caused any issues there, and always treat the bartenders respectfully. So why couldn't they just call me back? Own your mistakes!
