When you go to a packed concert like this, all the streets are filled and even the parking garage nearby is filled from top to bottom. Best to go early to find parking even if it's not good.

A few years ago, I enjoyed a guided tour of the theater, which provided a great background if its rich history highlighting the entertainment offered from vaudeville to contemporary performances. This evening's show was the comedic performance of Clue! I've also seen Jerry Seinfeld, Swan Lake, and many other great performances here. Compared to Broadway's theaters, the comfortable seats offer palatial legroom, and the Hanover seats 2,300 people, almost 20% larger than the largest theater on Broadway. The theater offers attendees beautiful architectural details, a seven-foot-tall chandelier and the Mighty Wurlitzer Organ with 2,495 pipes (no I didn't count those). The event we went to didn't encompass the entire venue, so only a couple of doors were open. Their website let us know which doors would be unlocked. During our visit it had snowed previously and the walkways and steps around the building were not yet shoveled. At all. Walking down snow covered stairs does not feel safe and there was no other way to get to the door we needed to enter. By the time we left the event, there were two people outside shoveling those stairs. So they did get to them. Parking is paid, either on-street or in one of the nearby parking structures. Large, gender specific bathrooms were by the exit.

This is the fourth year of the festival. It's truly amazing to be here. The music, horror movies and ink! What could be better ! If you are a local to the area of Worcester it's a great place for your local area events and conferences that come together. Have dollar bills ready, maybe deal some cards if you keep it on the level, rack 'em in the billiard area next room over, and peep the ship room itself in the back. (It was empty and dark when I visited, but I walked around anyway - felt like I wasn't alone, so bonus points for that creepy Amityville Horror feel.) I don't claim to know legit, hardcore Worcester, but this seemed like a small slice of it at the base of Green Street. See pics for ambience and decide accordingly if this is your cup of 'Gansett. (If you can imagine the 2010 edges of Washington DC's H Street district, you're in the ballpark.). *FYI: Four police cruisers passed by me semi-urgently at my Lamartine@Harding parking spot even as I drafted this review.
