A friend who's opinion I really respect recommended Antonelli's Cheese Shop for a three cream cheese. I wanted to get this for my book club soiree, but did not have time to make a visit as it is a little north of downtown. Antonelli's Cheese Shop is charming and quaint. While the shop is small they have an assortment of items to sell in addition to cheese - wine, sauces, jellies, etc. I was immediately greeted upon entry into Antonelli's cheese shop. Two other customers were being helped, however, I had a store associate offer me some cheese samples. While the samples were good, I was specifically interested in the three cream cheese. They had two choices to select from. I was hoping they had more. This is a shop you need to spend some time in to leisurely evaluate the cheeses. There was also a human size dog in the shop at the time. I don't know what is about dogs, they like to lick me. Guess what...I do not like to be licked. So, I jetted out of the store.

Thank YOU!

After an amazing tasting last weekend on the Cheesy Boat Tour... we had to come to the shop, too, SHOP! We wanted to share June's Joy with our friends and family. Did you know if you swing by you can taste anything? Such a welcome place with the hum of excited cheese hunters and enthusiast! Cheeses, meats, jams, pickles, wine... you name it. Grey gave us an amazing shopping experience and we ended up taking home an unexpected haul for a great night with friends.

My mom sent a thank you gift to my cousins in the form of a delivery meat & cheese board. It was absolutely gorgeous. I think it was a small tray, around $99 + Delivery. All the items were fresh & delicious. This place is clearly passionate about what they do. The amount of care and thought put into their products is incredible, and so cute! Just look at the pictures of the packaging :D

I was already head over heels for the class experience at their Hyde Park location but then saw that they offered cheese cruises! I wish I could give them 10 start for I had so much fun (and so much wine). The pairings were delicious, the hosts were fabulous, the wine was flowing, and the views were to die for. I can't wait for my next cheese

These chocolates are local to Austin, and they have a gelato place too.

Cheese glorious cheese. Antonelli's has such a large selection of quality cheesy cheese. This is a small family run, local, cheese shop, but it packs a lot inside. They have wine, jams/jelly/preserves. Chocolates, and olives. They also have premade charcuterie boards too. When I came, they were giving away free cheese everyday of the week. The first 100 people that were in line. Free cheese? Yes please. As you can imagine, there was a long line of people waiting, and with the store being small, we were sent in in small groups. Couple people come out, couple people go in. As the line shortens and you get to the counter. You're given your free cheese, and asked what type of cheese you like. I gave my favorites, soft cheese, like brie, hard cheese, like manchego I like spicy cheese like hatched chili cheese or a jalapeño cheese. So after giving some examples of cheese that I like the gentleman helping me brought out three different samples and we tried them together and loved every one of them so I chose which ones I liked out of the three and then we moved down the counter a little bit, and the gentleman brought out another selection of three cheeses, and I tried those and told him which ones I liked, and they were all phenomenal. The gentleman that helped me was very attentive. He listened. he gave examples exactly what I was asking for and it was absolutely beautiful experience. even though they were packed and crazy and had 100 people waiting outside. He just treated me like we were just one on one. He took his time with me. I thought it was such a spectacular experience very personable. I walked out with 5 different cheeses. A bar of orange chocolate with dried cherries. And a baguette. And let me tell you, I ate so good during our Texas ice storm 2026! So here's the down side. Parking. There are like 8 parking spots in front. And a couple parking in the back. But beyond the back, there is a small pay with a QR code parking. It's a bit of a struggle as far as parking goes. There is no street parking. But I'm sure when you're not dealing with 100 customers it's not as much of a struggle. There are 2 accessible parking spots out front. Had a great experience. And will come back again.

OMCheese! Whenever we're having a gathering or need to take something to a party, this is where we come for all things cheese. Heck, this is where we come when we just want to eat cheese on the car ride home. I kid you not. They are hands down some of the best cheese experts I have ever come across. I love that they are able to provide so much detail about every product they have. The region it's from, how it's made, what pairs best, everything you need to know about cheese, they can tell you. Quality, quality, quality. The shop is super cute and welcoming. It makes me feel like I am back in France.

I stopped by for the first time today--and wow, they have incredible cheese! Stephanie was amazing. She greeted us right away and asked if we were looking for anything specific. We weren't, really, but she smiled and said, "No pressure," letting us know we were welcome to sample anything that caught our eye. And yes, we definitely found some standouts. Every cheese I tried was legit--rich, flavorful, and well-balanced. I had a few favorites, some imported from Europe and others from domestic farms. Each one had amazing texture and depth. They also have little sample bites ready to go in the display fridge just to the left of the entrance, and they're happy to cut small portions if that's what you need. It's a super friendly, professional place--and absolutely worth a visit if you love good cheese.

Took part in the cheese tasting for "taste of the holidays" and had a great experience. I loved the set up inside but we were put in the annex area and I feel that took away from the experience a little as it was right by the bathroom and away from most of the other people. I'd suggest booking fewer people. But the tasting itself was amazing - the folks were super knowledgeable about the cheese and the pairings and love the wine options available as an add on. I would definitely come back for another one!

We did the signature cheese tasting with wine pairing and it was delicious! Ample parking and really nice space. All of the pairings were wonderful and super good cheeses. The staff was very knowledgeable and able to accommodate dietary restrictions as well! We left super full so you definitely get a ton of food, and they give to-go boxes at the end if you can't finish it all :) definitely recommend for a fun night in Austin!

Went here over the Christmas holidays with my fam and we had a great time! Off the bat they have two locations across the street from each other. One is a store and the other for their tastings. It was BYOB with free corkage and so we walked across the street to the store and grabbed a nice bottle of wine. We went for the cheese and food pairing and it was a full house. There was one 'host' who talked about the pairings and the history and then left you to eat at your own pace. I liked the setup. There was no rush and we truly got to learn about the cheeses we were eating. We got so full that we had to box up the rest for later, which I also like that they do. Overall, amazing experience and I would say worth the money.

The people working there are amazing!! They answered all of our questions and offered us many samples to choose from. We really enjoy all of their selections. Our favorite cheese shop for sure!

Ask the Community - Antonelli's Cheese

Can you bring wine to one of the classes?

Our classes aren't BYOB because we're TABC-permitted, but you can add a wine flight to your ticket. We also have non-alcoholic wine and sparkling water.

Do they ship?

Yes they ship. See website. But the important part is the experience of being there, the people, samples, etc. then go next door to Uncle Nicky's for a Negroni.

Will they special order cheeses that they've carried in the past?

We don't offer special orders at this time. Our selection changes regularly, so stop by and our cheesemongers will help you find something you'll love.

Are masks still required to walk in?

Hey Melanie! Thank you for asking, like you we are excited that we are now in Stage 4 and slowly getting closer to "normal". That being said we do still require masks to enter the cheese shop for the safety of our awesome employees. Thanks so much!

Hello I'm John ,,Do You Ship To New York?

Turkish eggs: 3.5/5 The eggs were perfectly cooked and the chili oil had nice garlic flavor. The bread was lovely quality. The sauce wasn't my favorite and I don't think it paired well together but it wasn't bad. Mortadella sandwich: 4.5/5 This was the star of the show. The bread is great and the pesto brightens the sandwich up. The arugula is a nice touch and the cheese is delicate. There's a ton of meat which I appreciated. One of their goals is to go Texas sourced everything. Even the wine list. They executed on that well. When I noticed the finishing salt I thought for sure this must be Jacobson or maldon. Nope, it was Texas sourced. I would definitely go again and recommend you to too, they've done a solid job and the place is lovely and diverse. My only negative, this is culinary purism. The sorbet was about 50% crystallised when it should be silky smooth. Normal customer wouldn't notice this as an issue. Doesn't affect taste or edibility. It means it was kept frozen well longer than 3 days (probably 30). Sorbet doesn't "go bad", it just becomes crystallised.

They care about every ingredient they use and it shows. The menu changes slightly almost everyday depending on what they're able to source, which is an awesome characteristic to me. The play also seems to be to use unique local ingredients in standard dishes to show how something familiar can be made new and better. In practice, though, for me the flavors didn't seal the deal. It was good but the selling point was more so the special ingredients less of the food itself for me. To me if I'm more impressed that it's a local ingredient than the meal was really good then something missed the mark. It's cool that I'm eating an antelope sausage but it didn't necessarily make the experience that much better for me. And to my palette some of the sauces were a bit too much - that breakfast sandwich felt like it basically had a sweet and sour sauce for egg rolls on it which just didn't work for me. I did like the sourdough pancake a lot, great texture and crunchy exterior with fluffy interior. That ice cream scoop sized butter scoop was crazyy excessive but looked really good for presentation lol. I wanted to love it but when it comes down to it, restaurant gotta deliver on the flavors not just the philosophy.

REALLY, you buy this local institutions goods at Farmer's Market. You know what? I will help them out and put the locations at which to purchase this fermented cow milk: Downtown - Republic Square Saturdays 9am-1pm; Sunset Valley - Toney Burger Center Saturdays 9am-1pm; Triangle Park - 46th St & Lamar Wednesdays 3pm-7pm; East 5th & Waller Sundays 11am-3pm. That being said, I have given you a little teaser. Now, look at their website to find stores which distribute their goods. How the heck is this cheese, you ask? It is not bad. Though I found the cheeses to be very one-noted and dry, they were definitely rich--this being the result of utilizing the feed for babies from well-treated cattle. The Especial, Seco, and Classico are all similar in texture, flavor, and overall character. In fact, they are not easily distinguished from one another. They would do fine as a secondary ingredient in a simple dish, such as tacos or quesadillas, but they wouldn't hold up to wine or serve well in a grilled cheese. For the latter 2 items, I would go with their Cheddars, which have a bit more bite. They have a wide selection as compared to other cheeseries in the Austin area, as many seem to really just go after the goat cheese fanatics. Nothing too crazy in terms of production and variety here, but give them a shot. The fermented dairy comes from Texas after all. The people who work here are also super awesome and are ready to take care of you when you have questions or concerns about where your cheese is going. Hehe.. you pay cheese for cheese.
