As part of a group of three we ate lunch at Anthony's yesterday. Set within a strip mall location, and apparently part of a local chain, the dining room appeared clean and comfortable, but nondescript. Our table was served by Stephanie who was personable, prompt and professional. My two colleagues split a large pizza which appeared to be competently prepared. The only comments heard were those regarding its price, so I'll presume that they were neither wowed nor disappointed. I chose the Eggplant Milano, billed as thin slices of eggplant with ricotta cheese and tomato sauce. What arrived was beyond disappointing. The texture of the eggplant and cheese left absolutely no doubt that they began the day as a frozen product. Although topped by a sprig of fresh basil, the dish was otherwise completely void of seasoning. Some indication of salt, garlic, onion and oregano is not an unreasonable expectation of a Romano-style tomato sauce. Together the assembled dish was-- in my assessment-- an unpalatable and one-note sub-supermarket-grade entree at a price which far exceeded either portion size or quality. Stephanie, uncertainty regarding the pizza and some enjoyable lunchtime conversation account for one and one-half of the two star Yelp rating provided. As for the food, it should come as no surprise to management that the consequences of such unconscionable profiteering include the risk of being called-out. read more

Needlessly rude management. Didnt even get food here. Got food next door at Jersey Mikes. They had no outside tables, so i walked two doors down to Anthony's. It was a windy, overcast evening and every single table out front of their restaurant was empty (8+ tables) I sat at one of the empty tables, and in less than a minute (not exaggerating) Someone came out and said i had to buy food or else i couldn't sit there. Every. Single. Table. Outside. Was empty. I cant imagine me eating a sub quick at one of the 8 empty tables would have cost them any money. And i dont wanna play this card, but this is with me in full EMS uniform just finishing a shift. If they treat strangers serving their community this rudely, i cant imagine how theyd treat you if you asked for extra cheese or something. Let me start by saying I have been to several Anthony's location, and food and service have always been very good. Also would like to say that our waiter did everything he could to try and everything he could to compensate for a substandard kitchen staff and poor leadership. That said, this is officially the worst dining experience I have ever had, hands down.... We stopped to grab dinner after visiting our daughter at school. Without dragging you through the painful details, it took us nearly 90 minutes to get a pizza, salad, meatball appetizer and chicken sandwich. Our waiter apologized and said he would have the manager stop by our table. I said I would prefer to not speak to anyone and just wanted to eat our dinner and get on our way. No such luck, I had two different people stop by and introduce themselves as managers within the next 10 minutes. I told each of them that we did not to discuss but just finish our meal and leave. Both continued to ask additional questions to make a bad situation worse. This experience was so bad that we are officially done with all Anthony's locations thanks to Vanessa and her staff. If you want to wait for your food longer than Dan Marino has waited for a Super Bowl ring, this is the place to go. read more

This is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. The service has always been good and the food delicious. I have a hard time getting anything but the wings here solely because I want them to be bottomless so I never have to stop eating them. They get 4 of the restaurants 5 stars on their own. The Pizza is amazing as well. Though I will say there are some people who may not like this style and I respect that... even though you're wrong. I've gotten a few of their sandwiches as well and those are always on point. The atmosphere is pretty cool as well they have a well stocked bar and TV's throughout. There is outdoor seating so on nice days/evenings you can enjoy your meal on the patio and do some good ol' fashioned people watching. All in all this is a solid place that I would recommend to anyone who's looking to get a bite in the area. read more

Mid afternoon yesterday, first time, place had only 2 other tables. Sports bar atmosphere, music a little too loud for small crowd. Waitress was very friendly and attentive. Wife and I ordered a salad & large pizza to share. Salad was great ( a little pricey), but the pizza was another story. Having read the menu expected charred crust, was not expecting grit. Didn't realize at the time I was chewing on a chunk of coal! We took about a third home and upon inspection the following day found a finger nail sized piece of coal on another piece. Needless to say not a fan of this culinary style. Recommend thorough inspection before you chomp down your next coal fired offering. I won't have to worry since I won't be returning. read more

Horrible experience tonight, I called an hour and 15 minutes ahead of time to schedule seating. I drove 50 minutes to the site in wyomissing Pennsylvania showed up and I was told that they were not accepting reservations. I explained that I called ahead of time for pre-seating and they said they apologize but they're no longer taking those. What did this appointment, I asked for the manager and the manager would not even show her face and she sent some young kid to tell me her decision. I called yesterday with a pretty large order for a sports team and was astounded by how helpful the staff was! Edwin helped make sure our order was taken down perfectly and went out of the way to deliver the food himself instead of through a third-party delivery service. The food was delivered on time, and the team commented on how high quality it is. I was expected to eat my food while the table next to me was covered in trash and left overs from the last table that had been there. If you like thin crust coal fire pizza, it's worth giving a try. But if you like to choose your own topping? This isn't the place. If you have kids? This isn't the place. I'm a veggie pizza person and my only options where margarita or eggplant. My daughter is a cheese only person but def not margarita. And they don't sell by the slice and don't have child size pizzas. So I paid $10 for a lunch portion cheese pizza for my 4 year old, plus $3 for her 20oz bottle of sprite. So, like I said, not for kids. On the other hand, if you're a young childless couple, out for a pizza and a beer, this is probably worth trying. Service was decent and they have a full bar. Edited 20 min later: I had a lunch size pizza as well. And I'm still hungry. read more

My boyfriend and I were looking forward to the opening of this new location near us, but ended up having a very unimpressive and unsatisfying experience. The website advertises that Anthony's has local craft beers on draft. WRONG! We sat at the bar, and read the draft list written on the chalkboard on the wall, and let me tell you something, Red Hook and Angry Orchard ARE NOT LOCAL CRAFT BEERS! There were about 3 beers listed that were local, but what do you know? THEY WERE COMPLETELY OUT OF ALL OF THEM. Hey I got an idea guys, instead of trying to be cute and trendy by writing your draft list on a chalkboard, take it to the next step AND ERASE THE BEER THAT YOU RUN OUT OF! This will save a lot of time for everyone, and won't get anyone's hopes up. We ended up ordering Peronis (NOT LOCAL CRAFT BEER) and a pizza. Unfortunately, the pizza took 40 minutes to come out, and half of it was burned to a crisp and inedible. Maybe this explains the "Pizza Well Done" disclaimers printed all over the walls? The pizza we ordered was the Paul & Young Ron with the choice of hot or sweet peppers. We chose the hot pepper option, and the pizza was topped with WHOLE green chilies that had not been sliced, and the seeds and pith (squishy insides) had not been removed. This is an absolutely unacceptable way to serve green chilies and the concept is neither "unique" nor appetizing. Biting into the peppers fills your mouth with seeds and pepper guts that you immediately want to spit out. Additionally, green chili peppers ARE NOT HOT PEPPERS! We asked the bartender/server what the sweet pepper option was, and she replied that it was red bell peppers. We then asked her if the red bell peppers were served WHOLE on the pizza, but that was over her head. On top of it all, the speakers BLAST a terrible music selection across every genre, creating the vibe of a washed up karaoke bar lacking any ambiance whatsoever. We were very disappointed by this restaurant, and would not recommend it. read more

My friend urged me on to try the cauli pizza, so I was *game* (hoho) despite my normal aversion to sports bars. When I called to check on ingredients, the very sweet manager told me they would be happy to use my non-dairy Daiya cheese for this pizza if I supplied it -- her idea! So I brought a whole bag and ordered two pizzas, one to eat there, and one to take home for a very happy spouse who immediately got into the box. Delicious! Love the ample cauliflower crowding the thin crisp crust - looks like they use a whole head on each pie, and you know that cauliflower is not cheap these days. We also got the broccoli rabe without the meat, delicious too and a large family-style side dish enough for 3-4 (good thrown over the pizza too). They had good beers and were very kind about accommodations. It was fall, so the tvs were very loud, so much so that we could not talk easily inside. So we were able to switch to outside and had a great time there since it was warm out. I will be back with more vegan friends for some of this pizza. Crust has no egg or dairy, but make sure to skip the bread crumbs since those do have cheese in them. They are Progresso brand. I was so jonesing for the cauliflower that I did not notice there there is also an eggplant pizza. Will check that out next time. read more

Dear Anthony, There is a difference between well done and burnt. Every pizza and wing we saw come out of the kitchen was burnt so you got burning everything down pat. Way to go! Just because you say it's well done does not forgive you on burning EVERYTHING! We would have complained but we knew we would be told that they were not in fact burnt but "well done" Love. Me PS over cooked, soggy onions are not a good flavor for wings. At least add some salt for flavor to maybe to cover up the burnt taste to them. read more

The experience here was very warm and friendly. When we arrived we had a 15 minute wait during this time servers came and we ordered drinks. After we sat at our table we were asked if it was our first time there which it was. The staff really knew a lot about the menu and how the food is prepared. I've gone to Anthony's several times since they've opened. I've always been impressed with their service and food. They're very knowledgable on their menu and can help you pick a great meal! When my fiancé and I sit at the bar we always have great service. They offer a decent amount of craft beers and mixed drinks. The sangria is phenomenal! The food is delicious! The pizza is well done. It has a thin crust, which is good! Their wings are a must try! They're so unique and different than any other wings I have had. They are served with caramelized onions. They're baked with different Italian seasonings. They don't have sauce on them, which makes for a clean eat. There are only two downfalls but that doesn't keep it from getting 5 stars. The parking can be a bit of a pain, but they can't control that. It's located in a strip mall with several other food and service places. The other one is that the pizza can get pricey when you start adding a bunch of stuff to it. read more
