The best Italian food in Berks. It's a mom and pop and Nino does the cooking. Fantastic.

Thought it was just a pizza joint. The best service and Italian food I've had in a while. This place is a must try.

We bought a bunch of condiments too! The staff was friendly and very knowledgeable. I asked a-lot about different products and learned a lot. They also dry there meat there on the premises! My boyfriend and I ate the amazing roast beef dip sandwiches and brusselspouts with bacon soup in the car. It was raining so we couldn't sit outside on the benches. The sandwiches were chock full of meat with a sharp provolone cheese and some kind of spicy green peppers. The beef broth dip was dark and superb! The sandwich had an excellent balance of tastes (complexity) and was extremely satisfying! A must go to place for a quick bite or to buy dinner to prepare or even quickly heat up at home! Run and try out this place! It's going to be a place you crave and have to have. I wish I could give this place 10 stars!

The menu set up on the website is confusing but well detailed Smash burger - excellent but you won't eat for the rest of the day. Two delicious patties, sweet bacon jam, a bit of pastrami and special sauce. Yum Chicken sandwich - crispy fried and possibly brined. Also a winner Roast beef sandwich. Great for those who prefer it a bit on the well done side.

I also have driven to Philly for a "real" cheesesteak and have had a number of great sandwiches locally in the last few years. I've heard a lot of good stuff about JD's and decided to check it out. If you're a local foodie, you know there are probably 3 sandwich joints that everyone swears by, and JD's is one of them, so we were very excited to give this a whirl. I had a quick trip one night after work, and we were getting home around 630, so we called in an order to JDs. There was a big mix up with our order (not knocking anyone for that, stuff happens) and our order was prepared again in record time and got home. We ordered 2 different cheesesteaks and some garlic parm fries. So let me get this out of the way, the cheesesteaks were good. Nothing at all wrong with them, but they were very much a "Berks County" cheesesteak... I don't know how else to describe it, but if you grew up here in the 90s, this tasted exactly like every cheesesteak you've had at a pizza shop or sandwich shop in the past. There is NOTHING wrong with that. I thought it was good, but it was just a good sandwich, nothing to write home about. The fries, were cold before we got home , and while you get A LOT of fries, they were just fine once we reheated them in the air fryer. They tasted good, they had decent seasoning, but again nothing special. The staff was nice, cannot complain about service, fixed the mistake quickly and got us on our way. If you want just a good cheesesteak, and good fries, this is your place... its just a very good sandwich shop with good food. Nothing wrong with that, if this was my neighborhood shop I would have no problem eating here regularly, and maybe I ordered the wrong style of sandwich and I need to try again (I will).

The fresh baked bread for sandwiches is everything, and my daughter often requests just loaves of bread lol The have the best cheesesteaks and chicken parmigiana sandwiches around, and the bone in wings are perfectly crunchy and not too small or too big. Their pizza is the only one my kid will eat from anywhere and even though it's rather simple, it's done well with good sauce, a crispy crust with a slight chew, and good amount of cheese. Right on par with real NYC pizza. You also shouldn't skip the tiramisu if it's available! (It goes quick!) I can't say enough good things about this place and my whole family eats here at least once a week, the family who owns it are wonderful and really care about the food they are selling and their customers and we will never eat any other pizza place as long as we live in the area! Also, ignore the vegan Karen in the reviews. They aren't mind readers, but if you ask for no mayo or no sauce or anything like that they always follow your directions! I always get my wings sauce on the side because it's too spicy for some people and I love it and in the past year I've been going here not once has my order been sauced. In fact the ONE mistake I ever had with an order in all that time was MY fault (ordered online) and they still fixed it for me anyway.

It was somewhat awkward with the employees sitting in the bench as I walked in but the hostess was quick to jump up and get my order. I picked any beverage from the cooler as I chose a seat. My "ginormous" salad and fresh hot were out within minutes. The cook jumped out from the other beach and immediately made my lasagna. The restaurant was small but I expect that from a mom and pop business. All the food and service were great and deserve a 5 I gave the 4 just because of the awkwardness. I will visit again once I'm back in town but will go during a normal lunch.

After much anticipation, the Primo's in Wyo finally opened with a celebration that involved a…read moreribbon-cutting ceremony and a visit from not one, but two Miss Philadelphia winners. Even with Reading being a hotbed for local sub shops, many locals (including a handful of self-proclaimed hoagie aficionado friends of mine) swear by Primo's and believe that, despite being a chain with over 115 locations, their hoagies stand up with the best of them. After trying my first ever hoagie from Primo's, I can now say I'm a believer. Generous portions of zesty Italian meats are piled high on a seeded roll that elevates the whole kit and caboodle. The only component lacking was the lettuce in my opinion, which I found sparse and soggy. On the other hand, the tomatoes and onions were perfectly portioned and appeared to be drizzled with some sort of Italian seasoning/olive oil blend that really cranked things up to an 11. What maybe impressed me most was the execution by the staff on such a frantic day. The first 100 people to arrive received a free hoagie. Many more than that showed up. Incredibly, the pace was quick and efficient. Maybe we were lucky, but it only took about 5 minutes from the time we ordered to when our names were called. Everyone was pitching in, including the two Miss Philadelphia's who helped distribute hoagies to eager patrons. Just a really fantastic debut for what should be a sandwich staple in Wyomissing for years to come.
