These were good signs that an authentic dining experience was about to occur. The restaurant itself is warm and inviting and the staff is terrific. We enjoyed it so much we made a repeat visit the next day. We were lucky to have Maya as our server on both occasions -- what a wonderful young lady! She spent ample time with us explaining the whole menu, some local favorites and the love that the owner/chef puts into his dishes. And she checked in with us often. Excellent! We had a great time on both visits. From cocktails, appetizers, entrees and our desserts, Maya walked us through everything - so friendly and knowledgeable! We enjoyed the sampler appetizer with bruschetta, meatballs and mushroom crostini. Very good! Bread came out with our soup and salad - my wife's Lobster Bisque was very good and my house balsamic salad hit the spot. On the 2nd night we had the crostini variety, with fig, honey, prosciutto - great! For entrees, the "Sunday Gravy" dish can easily feed two - delicious! An assortment of meat simmered in their sauce with homemade pasta. My wife enjoyed that on visit #1; my son went for it on visit #2. We also enjoyed the Chicken Milanese and 'Ndunderi - delicate gnocchi in vodka sauce with small Wagyu beef meatballs baked with smoked scamorza cheese (similar to mozzarella). Excellent! Accessibility aside, the food is good, the prices are reasonable, and the service is friendly and quick. The establishment touts its imported ingredients, and the food is reminiscent of my numerous trips to various parts of Italy. We made a reservation for 8 people, and it's a good thing, too. The restaurant was quite busy the entire time we were there. The staff were very kind and separated our checks as requested. We paid with a debit card, but there is a 3% surcharge for the use of credit cards. Amex is accepted here.
