The mussels were not very good (slightly cold and more fishy tasting) and the crab was over cooked and literally drenched in butter and burnt garlic. I stumbled upon this place on my way to another restaurant in the Marina. The happy hour is pretty decent. I had the Mussels and the ahi tuna nachos, they were both Devine. Stay away from the burgers. The bartender told me they can only make them medium or more but no medium rare, but would try anyway. It came well done and completely dried. First time to this Anthony's. I ordered off of the special's menu and got the Fresh Salmon Cakes. They were fantastic! The sugar snap peas, were even delightful, and the side of rice was yummy too. I enjoyed the awesome views of the docks. Anthony's has a great restaurant setting. The restaurant was very clean and our service was decent. I did not care for the shrimp cocktail as there wasn't enough flavor in the cocktail sauce to really make me want to keep eating the appetizer. The rockfish was cooked well with the mango salsa flavors and the chocolate mousse had a good consistency but was standard in taste. I would recommend ordering a house specialty entree vs the before 6pm dinner course special. read more

Don't come to this restaurant if you have a family member with specific food preferences and/or allergies. A steakhouse obviously isn't the ideal place to go if you don't eat meat/seafood, but to come in a group to your family's favourite restaurant and not have them able to come up with a single thing you can eat is so disappointing. I have been told by a server that they don't have anything that can be made vegan, so this time I called and spoke to the chef. They said there is nothing that can even be adapted off the menu for me to eat, they wouldn't even make a plain vegetable salad (which I have never-ever been declined of at any other restaurant). So disappointing that I now am stuck in a reservation with my family watching them eat, not able to enjoy a single thing. Not coming here again. read more

We recently went to Anthony's to celebrate our Gram's 80th birthday. A reservation was made about two weeks ahead of time and while we were hesitant about where they would sit our party of nine, we were amazed when they fulfilled our request and put us in the prime spot at the window facing the marina. They went above and beyond our family dinner a special night. We highly recommend for any special dinner or family gathering! In contrast to some of the negative reviews for Anthony's, I wish to post a very positive review ( experience ). Service, food was superb. Only negative for me was the noise level, which seems to be part and parcel of the contemporary dining scene especially for the 30 something eating out crowd. Guess I could mention the harbor view which is actually only a view of the Bellingham sail boat collection could get a feeling for where the water was, however, no real view of it. Wife had the Copper River salmon salad (wonderful). I had the cioppino (sp?) (perfect ). I highly recommend this, just bring your ear plugs read more

I come in for lunch I am a single dinner but it always seems like being a single dinner I am a burden on the staff I ask for very little but if some one would come around I might like a little more. You get the feeling when dining by yourself they don't want your business. Then when you want the check no one is around then you have to find them. This was my 2nd visit and I couldn't get a table, not because it was too busy but because it wasn't. I came in on a Friday night, at 9:10 pm (they're open until 10:30pm, per the door). I stood around for about 5 minutes, saw no wait staff, one person busing tables and several (4-5) cooks. There was no host/hostess and no sign to explain their absence. Before I left I stepped into the dining room to see if anyone was coming (no one was) then walked out. The cooks didn't look busy, you'd have thought maybe one of them could've alerted someone that there were 2 parties waiting for tables. The place was maybe 25% full. I have been there once before when it was busy and the food was good, the staff was quick and it was satisfactory which is why I went back and was looking forward to dinner. My advice is to go there when it's busy, which is odd I know, but it's a big place so they can handle crowds well, I guess they just figure it's not worth their time to provide business at other periods. This experience has sorely soured my previous visit. I won't be back for sometime, and I'll be sure to relate my experience to anyone that asks me about this place.. read more

My aunt and 2 cousins had just came to visit from Sweden and I brought them here in hopes to enjoy some good seafood and a drink with a view. We arrived 9 minutes before hh ended and immediately were treated with hostility from the hostess when asked if we made it for hh; she told us we wouldn't have time to be seated and served in time for happy hour and that we would have to order from the bar directly. We then went to the bar and found a few bar top seats and waited patiently to be helped in hopes to make the hh cutoff for a drink prior to ordering our meals. The server approached us and when greeted (if you could call it a greeting? No "how are you tonight" or welcoming gesture) we began putting in our drink order, he rudely interrupted to wipe down the table and abruptly said, "hold on". He came back and asked for our IDs and when my cousin in his late 20's provided his ID from Sweden the server walked away and said he needs his passport and that's not acceptable. I do recognize he was following policy, what I also recognized was his poor service and attitude from the moment he approached us and the way he handled the situation - unwelcoming and unapologetic. A simple genuine apology can go a long way. I was ashamed and saddened to welcome my family with such poor service as received tonight. This was the moment, instead of going to a table in hopes of feeling welcomed by a new server that I said, let's go elsewhere. When I said that, the server had a smirk on his face and said, "sounds good to me". Again, a simple, "sorry about that guys" would have gone long way. I had been to Hearthfire and was very excited to try Anthony's Homeport for the first time. Needless to say after tonight's experience I'll be sticking to Hearthfire and all of the new up and coming restaurants in the area! read more

I came here with a party of 6 adults and 4 children for my brothers birthday. We were placed in the private room in the back. The server seemed attentive and kind however once the orders were taken and the appetizers brought out, we were completely forgotten. 20 minutes goes by, 30 minutes goes by, 40 minutes goes by. Finally I get up and ask to speak to the manager. I told him that it was completely unacceptable for the food to take over an hour to arrive, especially with a party of 4 small children. He all but guffawed at me and said that the food was right over there (Under the Heat Lamps, where they had been sitting for the past 30 minutes). Absolutely ridiculous. As a manager he should have said I apologize for it taking so long. So a few minutes later the food arrives. Then we were waiting patiently for dessert and again, we were overlooked. The manager came over to give us his 2 cents. He said "Just so you know, it takes over 2 hours to eat at this restaurant". Ummmm-- how rude! We told him that we had been there many times before and that the food arrives promptly. He shook his head and said no, it usually takes about 2 hours for parties to finish. His arrogant pompous ass should be fired. What kind of manager comes over to tell the customer that they are wrong for asking for the food to come out more promptly? Shaking my head at this. The food was OK. My shrimp fettuccine was burnt (and how do burn pasta?). Take your money elsewhere! read more

This was my birthday dinner and I had high hopes and expectations. And I was craving lobster! My last year of being in my 40's and I deserved lobster, darn it! Bummer my Anthony's birthday experience turned out to be a terrible disappointment. It confirmed my ideation that Anthony's is no more than a pseudo high-brow Denny's featuring seafood. I'll never EVER eat there again. I'll try and cut to the chase: 1. Service was slow and depressingly unprofessional. When our waitress brought us our bread and butter, she placed the basket of bread down and left the plate of butter sitting on top of the basket instead of placing it on the table. Hmmm... 2. Lobster tasted slightly freezer-burnt and had none of that sweet lobster flavor I was craving. In addition it was slightly tough/rubbery. 3. The sugar snap peas served alongside were fantastic--crisp-tender and lightly seasoned, though would have liked more than 7. 4. The baked potato was gummy and it looked like 1/3 of it was missing. 5. The waitress removed the lobster flesh from the shell and placed the shell on a plate to take away. She was oblivious to the fact the shell had left a trail of lobster water/juice/drool across the table, whereupon it stayed there for the remainder of our meal until she placed the dessert menu on top of it. 6. I ordered the elderberry/champagne drink and it tasted suspiciously like grapefruit juice, ginger ale and vodka. I didn't think elderberry would taste like grapefruit, but since I've never had elderberry before I'll give them the benefit of the doubt? 7. Not once during our meal did our waitress ask us how things were or if she could get us anything. 8. On a positive note the cup of chowder was delicious! read more

meh is right. I can't believe that so many give this a good review. I've eaten here several times over the years and it gets worse every time. Their chowder has bacon in it also, lame. There are a few select things I would order here (mostly the fish tacos), the drinks are overpriced but i assume they are better during happy hour. The ONLY reason this place has just zipped under the radar here in the Ham (where we aren't too kind to crappy food that costs a lot) is because you get a view of the Bay and it's not even a great one. They don't even have outdoor seating. Don't waste your time except for a drink if you insist. My husband got a gift certificate for this place and we couldn't give it away. Extremely poor and caddy waitress! Food was a HUGE disappointment. I got the lingcod, and being raised on San Juan island and an a fisherman for an uncle I know what good fish is. The cod was slimy and mushy. I had two bites before feeling queasy. My husband got the seafood Alfredo, and it was soupy, lacked flavor, and the muscles scallops and whatever else that was in was so tough. Our waitress was so rude. Made us feel very uncomfortable. We had drinks and never came to check on us once for refill. We had two other nice ladies that asked if we needed anything. I will not ever be back and will not recommended this place to anyone. Outrageously overpriced for under seasoned and low quality food. Huge bummer! This was NYE, a special date for my husband and I. Its a chain restaurant with a nice location in a town that could use a few more locally owned nice restaurants. Food is on the pricey side for what you get, but the view is nice and you can eat outside during the spring and summer. On my visit staff was friendly and the drinks where strong. read more

The evening started with me asking the bar tender for a Sidecar and him looking at me like I just asked him to do differential calculus in his head. I mean, good lord, it's not like it's a drink that just got invented. It is right up there with the Old Fashioned. He offered to go look it up but I switched to a Manhattan. He didnt know how to make that one either because it didnt have nearly enough vermouth and it came with no cherry. I drank a few sips and sent it back and ordered a cocktail off their menu called the Rye Speakeasy (which was basically a Manhattan.) It was good. Moral of the story: if you are going to order a cocktail here DONT unless its on the menu. If you want a really nicely done cocktail go to the Temple Bar or Daphnes. This place is truly awful. It is like a cafeteria in ambiance and stunningly overpriced. Rude waitress, rushed unfriendly staff, mediocre food. Did I mention that it is ridiculously overpriced? The service was good, we didn't have to wait long. two of us ordered the crab on toast and was rather disappointed when we could find no crab in it. There were a couple very small shrimp but no discernible crab. The dish was tasty but impossible to cut so we had to pick it up and eat it (maybe that is the way you supposed to eat it.) One of the ladies ordered the crab salad and she too said there was very little crab in it and it was just a run of the mill salad. read more
